I'm doing some research on the 90s because I am world-building for some of my characters.

Somebody asked me "what sort of pop culture did you have in mind" when designing some of my characters.

Good question- but I have no idea!

I was in my 20s and heavily "alt" at the time.

So my question to you is: what other types of "pop culture" were there back then?
Was EVERYONE at least a little bit "alternative", or were there other cultures to belong to?

Just a general question for those of us who came of age in the 90s.

What were you listening to at the time?

I've been thinking about that of late.

I lived thru the 90s, obviously, but I was in my early-to-mid-20s.
So my tastes might be quite a bit different from some of yours.
Especially since I was fairly left-of-the-dial.~

Anyway, I'd love to hear some perspectives on this. :3

1. Inspired by  brock-omeles, I'm making my 'commission status terms' less vague.

I don't want anyone to get the impression that I just sit around eating bon-bons between bouts of actual arting. :U

So in addition to the terms I'm already using on my header page, I'm starting to use 2 new terms.

One is "Pre-production"- meaning, I'm planning the picture in my head.
This bit is the toughest for me, btw.
I rely on visual refs for 90% of what I do because I can't draw what's in my head.
So it's a question of finding the right ref, and then figuring out how to use it or adapt it.

The other is "posing". That's for when I actually begin to put the pencil to paper and rough out the poses.
This is the 2nd hardest for me.

Both phases are hard for me simply because of the amount of uncertainty involved.

In fact, sometimes I don't like drawing so much as "having drawn". >.<

Anyway, just wanted to address that.

2. My checking account's running dangerously low til I get paid later this weel. ^^;

Just putting this down here because it's taken me this long to get around to it.~

Had a great time. Con was probably better run than last year's FurFright, plus I made more money.~

Not much specific to say. Apart from the DJs at Saturday's rave kicked aaaassssssssss!

It was more just the vibe overall was positive in a way that, in retrospect, might have been missing from last year.

Not sure why, though.

Anyway, I want to- NAY, AM OBLIGATED TO- thank profusely  skreamlol for having me as a roomie again.

My iPhone's backlight has gone out for the 2nd time in 6 days. And this time it shows no sign of turning back on.
When I restart it it winks on for half a second and then goes back out again.

Any thoughts?

Right now I can only read the screen in direct light.

Welp, I seem to have finally come out a dicey depressive/hermit-y/distracted state that's been dogging me for much of this year!

As such I am currently tackling 5 commissions at once!

I suppose this is fortunate, as my car insurance has gone up again. O.O;;

Needless to say I am committe to burnin through my commission queue so I can take on more!~

I want to apologize for my ultraslow turnaround time of late.
You've all been extremely patient with me.

I recently added up my art-only income from the last 3 years, and, well, damn!

It seems like peanuts here and peanuts there, but you know what?
Without the support of you who wanna commission me, financially I'd be in the negative numbers for real!
I work part-time and live on a marginal income much of the time.
Also, of late, I am not always getting enough hours.

So!- I owe it to my commissioners to be more timely and have better turnaround. Now more than ever, considering my azz is financially on the line.

So again, I want to apologize to, and thank, those of you who value my work enough to want to commission me.
I owe what financial flexibility I have to you.

I'm having a 'sticky cursor' problem with the mouse function on my 10-y-o Powerbook G4.

Sometimes I have to click on something anywhere from 3-12 times before it responds.
And sometimes it does the 'sticky cursor' thing where it will stick to a page, or a URL, or a thumbnail, and I'll have to keep clicking to 'shake it off'.

Any of you tech-heads have any thoughts?
I hope it's nothing bigger than 'sounds like the click function is on its way out', but you never know.~
