I don't normally do shit like this on the internet, but I feel like shit, and desperately need to say something ....

My girlfriend broke up with me today in the most cold and heartless way I could have imagined. No warning, no explanation and no goodbye.
It was a simple text message saying and I quote... " I don't want a relationship. Don't contact me again".

We had only been together for a year (on and off sort of thing) so I shouldn't be too surprised. I just thought that maybe I meant more to her than just something she could throw to side without a second though. It's seriously knocked me flat on my ass just how people can do something like that. I don't think I was a bad boyfriend, and I like to think that I did everything that I could to make her happy. I don't have a lot of money, so I couldn't take her for a fancy meal, or buy her nice things (Unemployment sucks don't it!!), but I always tried to make sure I made time to spend with her and tried to show her how much she meant to me. Guess it must have just a one sided thing huh?

I guess that if she can do something that cold, then I should be glad that she left me. I mean, I can walk away from this and say "I tried my hardest, but she didn't appreciate what I gave her". Or maybe I'm just being stupid and have done something really wrong and deserve every ounce off hate and disdain that comes my way...

So now I'm sitting here, not knowing if I should be crying and cursing the fates because I just lost the one thing I had to make me happy, or laugh and thank the heavens that I dodged the proverbial bullet with some semblance of dignity, and asking people on the internet, who have no reason to care about the woes of a stranger, to talk to me and make me feel better... (I don't actually have any friends irl who care enough to pay me any heed, and the ones that do care enough are super busy and have their fair share of problems. I don't want to pile mine on top of them too).

I guess the point of this journal (though I don't have many followers to read it) is to ask if anyone has any time spare to just chat and socialize. I just really want a friend....

...And I have to say it's one of the best films I've seen in a long time!

Everything about it is near perfect. The actors, producer and everyone involved in making the film, did an amazing job of making on of my favorite childhood book come to life (in film form).

The locations they chose for the film were stunningly perfect down to every detail, the visual effects were just as good as you'd expect them to be in a LotR film, and they couldn't have chosen a better set of actors.

If you haven't seen this film, then I urge you to go and see.

You won't regret it.
