FC Meme-stravaganza!
Posted 10 years agoSo, Mal
and I are going to FC this year! (yay!) So, I decided to do one of those meme thingies that are so popular with you kids these days.
FC Meme, stolen from
rioichi4
What hotel are you staying at?
Not sure, I just know it's near Denny's (about 10 minutes away from the con.)
Malkit made the reservations
Arrival/Departure
Friday/Monday
Means of transportation?
Driving, probably a rental car
Are you sharing a room with someone?
Malkit
Who will you hang out with?
Aside from Mal, who I will probably spend the entire con with, I guess mostly folks from our local fur group, or anyone else who knows us and would like to hang :3
Relationship Status
Poly (with consent by all parties, aka: no sneaky business.)
How old are you?
37
How tall are you?
Just about 6' (5' 11.5" if you wanna get technical.)
Are you an Artist?
I do digital artwork mostly, but have been known to sketch from time to time.
Do you have an artist table?
Nope. I'm not cool enough. Actually, I just don't have enough work to sell.
Do you take commissions?
Yes...ish? It depends on the work and how motivated I am in doing it. I've technically never finished a commission, all of my works are gifts/requests (and one trade.)
Do you do trades?
Sure, why not.
Are you a Fursuiter?
No... I've been working on a fursuit head for like, over a year, and I just can't bring myself to finishing it
Attending parties?
Probably not. Maybe if we get invited by some nice people, we'll see.
Do you drink?
Occasionally.
Can I buy you a drink?
If you'd like.
Do you smoke?
Nope.
Are you attending any panels?
Probably a few. I haven't had time to look at the schedule yet, so I'm not sure which ones.
Stage or public performance?
No, maybe someday.
How do I identify my self to you?
Show me your badges, Gimme your FA, etc.
Rules of engagement (physical contact)?
Just ask, I'll most likely say yes to most stuff (unless I just met you and you're asking to "Netflix and Chill.")
How can I find you?
You can message me on Telegram (@ChuckMeIntoHell) or Twitter (@BrianJinnett) and ask where I am, meeting new peeps is fun!
Can I talk to you?
Yeah, I like a good conversation, as long as it's interesting. It may take me a while to warm up though, so don't think that you're not interesting just because I'm not responding :3
Can I give you lots of money?
Um... sure, if you'd like. Not sure why though, but hey whatever tickles your pickle ;3
Can I give you stuff?
Yes!!! Please!!! Stuff is awesome!!!
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Hug? Sure just ask first. Snuggle? Ehhhh, maybe... it depends on a lot of factors, we'll see.
Can I dance with you?
Um... ok. Although, I'm not really a dance "with" kind of dancer, but I'll give it my best shot :3
Can I come to dinner with you?
Sure, if you pay for your meal (or better yet Mal's meal and my meal!) Or if we've specifically invited you out on our treat :3
Can I hang out with you?
If you'd like. Unless I'm doing something specific, then I'll let you know :3 It's always best to ask at the time, really for any of these
Can I take your picture?
Again, you can if you'd like, but I don't have a suit or anything, so you'll just be getting a pic of a normal old human :3
How do I know if you're not looking to socialize (angry, busy or upset)?
Just ask, "hey are you busy?" or something like that, unless I'm walking towards something, or looking for something, use your discretion wisely
Personality Type?
While I like socializing, it tends to be draining for me, so I will often need some "me" time to recharge. I'm pretty good at reading people, I empathize with them and don't judge, which makes me a pretty good listener, plus I enjoy listening ;3
What's your goal for the con this year?
Have fun, meet people, buy lots of cool stuff ;3

Nickname: Chuck
Location: Anderson, California, USA
Age: Thirty-Seven
Height: 5 feet 11 inches (Why couldn't you just give me that last inch, God?)
Zodiac sign: Aries
Pets: Two cats, an orange stripy one named Fieldy, and a blue one named Stormy; One dog named Razz, he's a Shepard Mix, mostly black.
Favorite thing about yourself: My Mind, both in creative ability and logical ability.
Worst habit: Is procrastination a habit? If not, then probably drinking Coke.
Fun fact: When I was sixteen, I had my right tibia (the large bone in the lower half of the leg) cut all the way through, and repositioned with pins so that my foot didn't stick out to the side. A surgeon did this, it's not like I just had some random person do it for me. I was in a full leg cast for three months, and a half leg cast for another three.
Identity, Sexuality & Personality
Gender identity: Boy. I prefer boy to man or male, because I identify more with being a boy, even though I'm an adult. I don't think it's an AB/DL thing, because I think of myself as a boy adult, rather than a boy child.
Sexual preference: Mostly males, cis or trans. There are a few females that I'm attracted to, but not really enough to make a point of saying I like both in any serious way.
Romantic preference: Same as above, although a bit more of a romantic attraction to females than sexual, but still way less than males.
"Kinsey Scale" score: 5, but could be more of a 4.75. It really depends a lot on the individual rather than their gender or identity.
Relationship status:
malkit and I have been together for about 10 years! We have a somewhat open poly relationship where we can bring others into the relationship.
Myers/Briggs type: It can change, but I'm usually INFP. I can be ENFP, or INTP. I can identify with ENTP, but I've never tested as it.
Hogwarts house: Don't really know much about the back story of the houses and what not, so I'd just say Gryffindor.
Routine
"Early Bird" or "Night Owl": Usually a night owl, but I enjoy getting up in the mornings as well, it's avoiding staying up late that's the problem.
First thought in the morning: Usually "Weird dream." or "God, my neck/back hurts. Must have slept on it wrong."
Last thought before falling asleep at night: Either "Man, I'm about to pass out!" or, "I should really get to bed."
School/Work
Do you work or are you a student: Currently unemployed, so my job is to look for a job. It doesn't pay very well :(
What do you do well: Problem solve, mostly. I suppose my art is okay, and my writing is good, but I usually can't quite finish what I'm writing.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years: Aside from tripping out over the fact that my age is the ultimate answer to life, the universe, and everything, I'm hoping that I'll be in a job where I do psychological and/or sociological research, or maybe making a living off of writing or commissioning art.
Habits (Do you…?)
Drink: Occasionally. I like sweet red wine, cider, or a well made mixed drink. Basically, the less I can taste the alcohol, the more I'll enjoy it. Some beers are okay too.
Smoke: Nope. Never have, really. Never really saw the point to it.
Do drugs: Illicit: Not very often. I haven't really had any pot in probably over a year, and even then, it had been a long time since I'd smoked it. Haven't smoked pot regularly in probably 12 or 13 years. It's probably been about 9 years or so for E, or 'shrooms. I've only tried Acid a few times, and I'm not a fan. The best I can say for it is it's cheaper than 'shrooms for a similar effect. I'd rather have the 'shrooms. Prescription: I take a few drugs to help with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I've been off and on various meds since about 8 or 9 years ago. My current cocktail works pretty well, I'm happy with it.
Exercise: Um... does clicking a mouse count?
Have a go-to comfort food: Coca-Cola. I'm addicted to the stuff. My teeth are literally falling out :(
Have a nervous habit: I grind my teeth, pop my knuckles, pump my leg up and down when I'm sitting, rock back and fourth, twist my arms in weird positions around my body, twiddle things around in my hand when I'm holding them, all sorts of different things. I've been like that since I was a kid, I'm just a generally anxious person.
What is your favorite…?
Physical quality (in yourself): I guess my face. People always seem to think I'm attractive, and I can't help but agree :3
In Others: I feel shallow, but I'd have to say that faces make a big impact for me. Although, I can overlook anything if they have a nice personality.
Mental/emotional quality (in yourself): My ability to problem solve. I enjoy figuring things out, with or without the help of others/the internet.
Food: Pizza? I don't know, there's too many to choose from.
Drink: Coca-Cola
Animal: Cats. Felines of all types, really. I love my dog, and don't really spend much time with my cats in comparison, but I feel like I connect more with my cats. Dogs will always love you, but if a cat has chosen you, that's something special.
Colors: Purple, Green, the darker Blues, Brown, and Black, even though it's not technically a "color."
Artist/Band/Group: I've been listening to a lot of "Weird" Al recently, but The Beatles are probably my all-time favorite.
Author: Douglas Adams
TV Show: Dr. Who
Video game: I've been playing Terreria a lot recently, but the Zelda franchise is probably my favorite.
Actor/Actress: I usually like comedic actors, and because of that Robin Williams just came to mind, probably because of his recent death. I'm sure there are others that I like more.
Blogger: I don't really read blogs regularly, but the one that I tend to read most is The Friendly Atheist, mostly because friends link to his blogs on Facebook.

Fursona Meme thing.
Posted 10 years agoI found this on a random account and decided to do it :3
1.What made you choose the species of your main fursona?
Cats, in general, are my favorite types of animals. At the time that I created him, I wanted him for a story I was writing (never finished) and he needed to be dominant, so I chose a big cat, rather than a house cat. I've always been partial to black, so I settled on a panther and I decided to give him dyed purple hair, since purple is probably my favorite color. Since creating him, I've dyed my hair purple a few times and plan on doing it again in the future. I also decided to give him a black ring in each ear, since I have one in each ear.
2.Is your fursona just like you, or how you want to be?
He is a lot like me, but he's a bit more of what I'd like to be in the fitness area, as well as socially and with regards to anxiety. He's a bit more comfortable around people than I am, and doesn't get as stressed out in other situations as well.
3.Does your fursona have the same personality you have?
Mostly, apart from the exception that I mentioned in my last answer.
4.Does your fursona have the same dislikes and likes as you do?
Yes.
5.Does your fursona look like you at all?
That depends. My look is changing all the time, but usually when I draw my fursona I try to incorporate my current look into the picture. I currently have much longer hair than I've had in the past, and in my most recent picture, I gave him a ponytail. But I don't usually have my hair dyed purple, and like I said before I'm not quite as fit as he is. I'm slim, but I usually make him a bit more muscle-ey than myself. Other than the fact that I'm not an anthropomorphic panther though, we're pretty similar
6.Is your fursona the same gender as you, if not why?
Yes. I tend to be much more male-centric, and I have a hard time relating to cisgender females. Transgender females and transgender males are people that I have a better time relating to than cisgender females, because they at least have the experience of being male at some point in their life. I rarely write female characters and I almost never draw them.
7.Do you have more then one main fursona?
Sort of? I just created a new fursona to represent my more passive side, but he's very similar to my main fursona aside from a few differences (house cat rather than a panther, younger, and no dyed hair or piercings.) I also have a character that I created long before joining the fandom who is, none the less, an anthropomorphic animal who is a representation of me.
8.Do you have a back story for your fursona, if so does it have anything to do with your own history?
I've made a few different back stories for him based on different stories but for the most part, if I were going to make a generic back story it would probably just mirror my own.
9.Is your fursona mated, if so is it to your real life significant other?
Yes, he's mated to the adorable African Wild Dog
Malkit who is my real life partner who I've been with for over 10 years
10.If not are they looking for a mate, or are they a swinger so to speak?
Malkit and I are polyamorous and at various time have had an additional partner in our relationship. We don't currently have a third, but more partners are welcome as long as we all get along. We're not "swingers" in sense of sleeping around, because everything we do is within the relationship.
11.Is there something special about your fursona that you think sets them apart from others?
Not particularly. Just that he's me.
12.Do you have much art of your main fursona/s?
A bit, most of it done by myself.
13.Would you ever consider parting with your main fursona, if so why?
I can't think of a reason I would part with him. He's kind of personal to me, so I wouldn't sell the rights to him completely. If someone wanted to use him but still allow me to use him I'd consider, but I don't see myself giving him up completely. He is essentially me, so it's like saying "Would you ever consider parting with yourself?"
14.If you suit, do you have a suit of your main fursona?
I haven't suited yet, but I'm working on a partial for my main fursona.
15.Have you ever roleplayed with your main fursona, or do you prefer not to?
I suppose that I'm playing as him by default when I roleplay. It never really occurs to me to be anything else, unless I'm being my human self.
16.Do you consider your main fursona to be a part of you in any way?
Yeah, I suppose he is. Since his personality is basically mine, he represents the part of me that exists within the furry fandom.
So, that's it! I'd like to see some of my friends try this too. If you found this interesting, give it a shot! I'd love to read about your relationships with your own fursonas! :3

10.If not are they looking for a mate, or are they a swinger so to speak?

New Day's Resolution:The Saga Continues
Posted 11 years agoSo, the day before yesterday I informed anyone who was paying attention to this blog, that I have started a new day's resolution for each day this year. The first day, I resolved to clean my desk, which I did, but I didn't complete it. Yesterday, I resolved to make a pizza, and it was delicious! So delicious that I decided to make another one today. In the meantime I have been slowly working on my desk. So, baby steps. I also made cookies today and I'm thinking of giving them to my parents. Tomorrow my resolution will be to get the dishes done an finish my desk. That's it for now. I will keep you posted. :3
New Days resolutions!
Posted 11 years agoSince I, like so many others, never seem to accomplish any new years resolutions, I'm trying something different. New years resolutions are always such lofty goals, like "Lose 50 pounds and keep it off" or "Become more organized and stay organized." Instead, I'm going to make new days resolutions! A smaller easier to achieve goal to finish by the end of the day. They could have a theme behind them, like organization or staying in shape, but each goal is its own thing. Today, my resolution is to clean off my desk! I'll make another tomorrow. I might post it here.

Labels
Posted 11 years agoSo, I was reading the gay furries journal about labels and started typing a response that I realized was too long to be a comment, and would be better suited as a journal.
Labels are important. They can also be confusing and annoying, and sometimes cause unnecessary tension for superficial reasons. Use them wisely.
For example I'm gay. But that's not "technically" true, I'm actually bi, with a strong preference for men. But that's not even true because I'm pan-sexual since I'm attracted to trans and gender fluid individuals with more of a preference for those identifying with a more masculine identity.
Ugh!
Seriously, I'm pretty much just gay. For the most part, I've only ever been with guys, I've been in a committed relationship with another guy for 9 years, and while we're poly, we most likely won't add anyone to the relationship that isn't a cisgender (non-trans) male. So, when I'm talking to the casual acquaintance there's no reason for me to identify as anything other than gay. But those other labels are important for me to consider and to even consider changing and dropping or adding new ones as I become more aware of the common definitions of them.
It's like if you're going to buy a can of beans. You go to the store, and every can on the shelf just has "beans" and no other information on the label. You take a can home, thinking it's pinto beans, and find out they're red beans, which you don't care for the taste of. You get another can and they are pinto beans, but not refried, like you wanted. You get a can of refried beans, but they are vegetarian, when you wanted fat-free, etc.
On the flip side of that, you want to be able to tell that something is beans, without having to read 50 million other qualifiers before that which makes it more confusing. Which is why, in the store, "beans" will usually be the largest word on the label, and the others become smaller the more specific they are.
I think people forget what labels are and what they are for. If I told everyone I met that I was bi, or pansexual, it's misleading because for all realistic purposes, I'm gay. I've met some men who identify as "bi curious" who have only ever had sexual encounters with men! Seriously dude, you're just confusing people and adding to the negativity of labels. It's like people feel that if they are one label (bi, for example) they can't be gay, or straight, or pansexual. You can be several labels but you should make the most general, and most applicable one your main label.
Context is also important. If you're at a party where they're serving Mexican food, and the host asks you if you want beans, you're not going to expect lima beans, or baked beans, or garbanzo beans, you'll expect pinto beans, probably refied, or maybe black beans. Unless you're unfamiliar with Mexican food, in which case you learn when you see them. You don't argue with them and say that these weren't the beans that you were expecting. To the same effect, you don't go to a gay bar and become shocked to find that someone of the same gender is hitting on you. But there really are no "LGBT" bars, so gay bars are kind of the defacto locale in that regard, where you wouldn't be shocked to see a few men and women flirting with each other, or to find out that some of the people there are trans individuals.
Of course, people aren't beans. We can think and feel, and change our minds about certain things. While you may identify as bi in your 20s, you may identify more with the gay or straight communities in your 30s. While you may identify as gay in your 20's you may feel more comfortable with your attraction to the opposite gender in your 30s. But you need to pick labels very carefully. Most people want to pick the label that "feels" right to them, but this can often be misleading to others when you start with that label. For me, pansexual feels right, but really it's misleading to the outside world because I've only ever been with men, and only cisgender ones. What I am to most people is "gay" so that's how I usually identify.
So, my point is, labels are important, but use them with care and take other people's perceptions into consideration. Because labels are just that. A label to communicate to others, not yourself.

Fundraiser
Posted 13 years agoWell, Mal, Yoshi and I have hit a slight snag in our money situation. We were all set to have fun at Further Confusion in January, then the radiator went out on our car. It's looking like it's going to take all of our savings to get it fixed which leaves us nothing for Fur Con. So, this has finally inspired me to get cracking out with commissions. I am going to need your help though. If you could, please link to this journal in a journal entry of your own, or if you'd like and are able, you can, order a commission as well. Prices and more detail are listed on my profile. All of us would greatly appreciate any help that you can offer.
Procrastination-Mostly just a rant, but feel free to comment
Posted 13 years agoI've been having a huge problem with procrastination these days. Well, I've had it my whole life, but since I've been treated for ADD and while my attention has greatly improved, the procrastination hasn't. I'm realizing more and more that I've developed some really bad habits to cope with my lack of attention span. I'm finding it way easier to concentrate on tasks once I start doing them, and I am more motivated with a lot of things, but I still put things off that really need to be done.
The biggest area of this is my creative projects, which is why this is relevant to FA. I'm coming across a problem though. I am a prolific idea machine. And I love each and every one of my ideas, but I don't have the time or the energy to do all of them. When I'm working on one idea, I start to think about other ideas that I could be doing, and I feel bad that I'm not working on them. Sometimes this will cause me to abandon the current project I'm working on, to focus on something else, but then I wind up neglecting the first project, and the cycle starts all over again.
But that's only a simplified version of it. I move from project to project, to project, convincing myself, "Oh, I'll get back to that one in a little bit." Then I move on to something else, and something else, until it's been a month or several months before I realize that I've neglected the original project. I try to force myself back to the original project, but by this time, my interest has become so focused on the other projects, and I'm so consumed with feeling bad about neglecting it for so long, that I have a hard time getting passionate about it again. This is usually the point where I tuck it away in some folder on my hard drive, or for physical works, in my art satchel, and say, "well I'll get back to it when I'm not so busy." Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, but it will often take years before I fully complete a project.
Another problem is boredom. Sometimes I get burnt out on a project, and I want to take a break. During that break, I will either become obsessed with a new project idea that I "MUST" start immediately, or I loose a little bit of interest in what I was working on, or sometimes, I just forget about it, until it's too late, then the cycle starts all over again.
I tend to complicate matters by promising people that I will be doing things for them, and then I never finish what I was working on. They're often understanding, but that does nothing to change how bad I feel about it. I broke a promise, and to me that's the same as converting a truthful statement made in the past, into a lie. This is the real reason why I have yet to charge anybody for my work. Despite the possibility that monetary incentives might make me stick my projects better, I know myself. This is a complex problem with me that's going to take more than financial reward to solve. In fact, since commissions are often paid up-front, it will just ad to the problem, with people pissed off at me because I have their money and they have nothing to show for it. I could only charge them after I'm done, but that just becomes a promise, and it's no different in my mind than the ones I've already made and broken.
Just writing about it has given me a couple of ideas on what I can do, but I would love to hear what other people think. Perhaps you've had similar problems and you have a technique that's worked well for you. Perhaps you've never had these problems, but you use a system that you think might work well for me. Or maybe you've thought of something that you think might work, I'm willing to try it as long as it doesn't involving becoming a mass murderer, or giving up Coke-a-Cola (I love Coke, more than I love Cock!) Whatever it is, let me know! I'd love to hear from you guys about this!

Babyfurs
Posted 13 years agoHey, this is my first journal entry, but this topic just came to mind and I wanted to talk about it. Most of my friends know that I'm a DL (That's a diaper lover for those of you not in the know, or someone with a diaper fetish in layman's terms.) and I originally got into furry art by making a few babyfur pieces. Initially, I was going to make an entire animated story using flash animation, but being me, I lost interest and never finished it.
The reason I bring this up, is because I guess I feel a little embarrassed about uploading my diaper related art. I don't know why, there's nothing inappropriate about it, like adults taking advantage of kids (or cubs) in fact, all of my diapered characters are young adults, I have yet to draw any cubs, although I do plan on doing so. I wouldn't put anything sexual in cub pics, but I know that they can get a lot of criticism anyway (not necessarily on this site though :3, folks here are usually pretty nice.) Anyway, it's something that I accept about myself, and I've posted other diaper related material online, but I guess I just have a bit of hesitation since this isn't exclusively a diaper site.
An interesting thing is, I've noticed that some of my furry friends feel more awkward about being a furry than they do about me being a DL, and vice versa. It's not that either of us are ashamed or anything, we just feel a little uncomfortable about it. I'm kind of an unofficial furry myself. I have a fursona (Chaz) I have a mate (well a couple really, but
Mal's the important one <3, 7 years next month!) And pretty much all of my friends are furries. The thing is, if someone asked me point blank if I was a furry I'd probably say "Well yeah, basically" and if they asked me to explain further, I'd probably go into a little more detail about how I find anthropomorphic animals interesting, and do anthro artwork, but it's not something that I'm compelled towards (whereas, I am compelled towards diapers.) However, if someone asked me point blank if I had a diaper fetish, I think I'd dance around the issue a bit. I wouldn't lie, but in a way, I feel like I would need to defend myself about that particular issue. Of course, this is a hypothetical where this would be someone known to be critical of non-traditional lifestyles.
Anyway, I AM going to post diaperfur art to this site. I guess in a way this is kind of a warning to my watchers who may not know this about me. I may loose a few watchers, but to be honest, that's not something that I give a shit about. If someone's going to unwatch me over something like that, they don't deserve to watch me anyway. And besides, it's just a number on the internet. One that's bound to go up and down anyway.
Don't worry, I'll still be doing work without diaper related content. I do enjoy making that stuff, and I know that I have friends that aren't into diapers, and I don't want to bore them with a constant stream of padded butts and pacifiers. Plus, there's a lot of non-diaper related ideas, swirling around in my head, that I definitely want to get out there.
It's not a big issue (well, not for me anyway) just something that's been on my mind. Talking (typing) about it, just kind of helps me to deal with it. Anyway, hope you're all doing well, and perhaps I'll write a few more of these.
