i have dusted off some old projects and getting ready to work hard on them. i wish i could work on them full time and maybe with enough support, i can make that happen. would also like to do more conventions too. here's hoping.

alright guys, time for some input. I want to start producing t-shirts for sale and wanted to know if it's even a viable market to do so and if so, what's selling the most? I want to set up an amazon store for this. thanks for the thoughts!

Well it looks like i'll be sliding in for saturday and sunday with a table. not sure i got anything new to see this year but i'll be open for commissions for sure. see y'all there!

Big life changes in the next year and i don't know how much art i'll actually produce until things stabilize. i'm only doing 2, maybe 3 shows this year total. i just can't be planning on that kinda stuff right now. plus i don't have anything new to sell.

What changes you ask?

1. I'm getting married! This has been coming for at least a year but it's been one family tragedy after another on both sides. We had to both mourn our lost loved ones and deal with other stuff. not really the time to talk nuptials. Now is the time though to move forward and start our lives together under one roof which leads to...

2. Moving into a new home! we found a place and are negotiating the money end of it. please send positive thoughts our way so we can land what will be a perfect home, including my own studio space!

3. A new job! I couldn't take it anymore. art wasn't paying the bills and I/we have plans for the future that involve money. I started a warehouse job at Diamond comics here in Memphis so at least i'll still be around all the geeky things i love but whew, it's wearing me out. still getting used to the new routine and hopefully i can start doing art again soon once i manage my energy level better. I do like the job so far though.

Anyway, that's it. To all of those who are following me, I'm still here and I'll be back stronger than ever soon enough. Just gotta start a new chapter in my life first.

I really don't want to go find a soul-sucking job and the freelance here is almost non-existent. i have projects i can develop, 2 furry related and then getting back to the town of skyward but i need to pay my bills and support my family.

based on my art, would it be something worth supporting? what would your opinion be on goals, benefits and stuff to offer patrons? Really need to know if i should try or pack up and put in an application at the local 7/11

I know I haven't posted in awhile but it's been a roller coaster. I was preparing for back to back conventions, superman celebration and Heroes con that was this past weekend. both required travel and then working the actual shows. I debated not going at all to either as my older brother passed away in his sleep 2 weeks prior to the superman celebration and my family was in shambles. he was only 47. I hope you don't think I'm fishing for attention and/or sympathies, just explaining my absence. however, your thoughts and prayers are appreciated. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.

I just finished up with heroes con today and will be on my way home soon. I'm exhausted as hell. I need a couple of days to rest and then I'm going to try to get back to a routine. I have things to do.

you may notice a shift in my priorities as far as my art. I want to continue Skyward and create some new art for sketchbooks and collections to sell and also do other projects as I have time. I've been trying to cut back on my local clients to allow me to pursue my projects but it will leave a financial strain on me. I may be offering commissions real soon. I'd rather be doing those anyway.

a lot has happened over the past couple of months including holidays, finishing commitments, funerals, family matters and home renovations. trust me, I'm ready to get back to work but there's still things to be done. I'm also currently overhauling the hall of nerdness (my studio) to develop a move comfortable and organized work space.

I would like to thank all the new watches and favs recently. I have been away for a short time dealing with personal issues and projects. still working on those projects too. I hope to be going full time into my own stuff again by the end of the month though. for now I will be hopefully posting a new off-the-top-of-my-head sketch daily for the next year as an experiment to keep my imagination and style honed. enjoy.

I am exhausted... which is a good thing. did many very cool commissions and even got to draw in  rabbi-tom sketchbook. Hung out with some good folks and got to promote the Town of Skyward. Hope all the out-of-town folks make it safely back to their homes. Here's to next year!

wondering if I should even bother with getting a table at Mephit Fur Meet. the last couple of years, there was hardly any traffic in the dealer's room and not much in the way of sales. granted, I don't have to pay for travel but not sure I want to spend the time. this is not saying anything bad about the convention itself, just not sure it's the best venue for me.

I don't expect people to kiss my ass, feed into me ego (which I don't really have one) or fall all over themselves to get to me or treat me any differently than any other artist or hell, any other person on this Earth but ya know, I would love a little reassurance that what i'm doing is worth my time. yes, I do it because I enjoy it first and foremost but when it comes to some things, I need to know if you think it's good, great, it sucks, whatever. I want to know i'm going in the right direction and need to go forward with what I believe i'm set on this planet to do or should I pack it up and go work for best buy (no offence to anyone working there or anywhere else that isn't your own business). as artists, writers, whatever, we put our hearts and souls into our work and it's a little discouraging to get such an underwhelming response.

i'm I a bad artist? do my ideas suck? am I a bad guy? do I give off a bad vibe that makes me unapproachable?

personal responsibilities (mostly financial) are prolly what's making these feelings of inadequacy surface. I need to move forward with my life and I don't want to give up. I just need to know I'm doing is the right thing so I can stick it out.

sorry for the debby downer moment. I usually don't post stuff like this in a public forum but i'm posting my art and that's the same as expressing myself verbally. I'm putting myself out there for praise or scrutiny alike, so why not voice my concerns.... at least this one time.
