Backstories in image uploads, opinions?
General | Posted 9 years agoFor as long as I can remember, I have been a huge fan of reading a little backstory on the artworks I like. To me, a piece of backstory can make an image many times better, even if it’s impressive enough on it’s own. That’s why I decided some time ago to try including those pieces of text myself, to varying degrees of success. x3
I often write journals to ask questions, so to the point: Have you guys notices these little snippets, and do you like/dislike them? I see at least two possible downsides, one of them being that less is left to your imagination, which usually tends to optimize the setting in whatever image towards one’s own preferences. The second one is a quality issue; I’m not very good writer, and my English is far from perfect too, I know bad grammar can be a buzzkill. ^^;
And another question, do you know any other artists who do this? Is there a tag for those? I would love to find more!

General | Posted 9 years agoHello! I was thinking it would be a good time to ask for some feedback. Since my reactivation around half a year ago I've been posting quite a bit of different stuff, so:
-What do you like and what would you like to see more? Themes, characters, kinks, finished/colored pics every now and then vs. just doodles and monochrome more often? Clean art? Gimmicky stuff like VR pics?
-Similarly, what do you dislike? Do I draw too much of something? Is it annoying when I try to reply each image comment?
For the foreseeable future I will have little time to focus on drawing, so I will most likely keep mostly drawing what inspires me when those moments happen. But, quite often knowing what people want to see boosts that inspiration, so shoot. :3
Also a little reminder, I also try to be active in Twitter, Inkbunny, Pixiv and maybe sometime in the future in Tumblr.

1. Does anyone save pics/images/art on their computer these days? Specifically furry stuff off IB etc.
2. Why? Just to have it more conveniently accessible, satisfaction of possession, some other reason..?
3. How? Just the good 'ol "Save as..." or fancy browser extensions or even scripts?
4. Do you go the extra mile as well and take backups etc.?
Here's my two pennies to make things fair:
1. I do! Some, sometimes.
2. Both examples mentioned in the question, plus I will feel comfort over still having my favorites when the Internet has collapsed and we fight each other for stale water. :P
3. Drag to save extension where it works, Save As where it doesn't.
4. I back up my originals, and my save folder(s) kinda hitch the ride. Please, I'm not too obsessive. >>;

Since it's related to the topic, I installed a Chrome extension today that allows me to save HD versions of the images easily on Tumblr. I wish there was a similar extension fro Twitter, since screenshoths seem to be the only way to save images from tweets with multiple images. <<;

Hello there peeps. I thought I'd finally try to break from my long lasting slumber-lurking mode and engage in some actual activity.
A lot has happened since I last posted anything here, I've graduated and founded a business together with some friends, to name a couple of key things. Certainly enough to keep me busy, but not busy enough to forget about the fluffy things in life. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
While general busyness had a great deal to do with my inactivity, another reason was that I felt pretty much obliged to finish some requested images before posting anything else... And, well, I still haven't finished those, but my resolve has held this far. I've doodled something small every now and then just for myself, but I may start posting some of those gradually.
I decided it's time to move on and have more practical view on things. I may still finish the aforementioned images eventually, but I intend to allow myself to draw other things when I feel inspired to do so, and share those images as well.
I'm also still working on a couple of images for very dear friends, those are a different matter entirely. You know who you are. ◕ᆺ◕

General | Posted 13 years agoSo, yeah, I have been in the stalking mode for quite some time and probably will remain way less active than in my better days (for now), but I'm not dead. :3 Real life things are still eating up pretty much all the time I've got, but there's no way I'd give up this part of being me for good. <3
To the fine furs who have been interested in commissioning me or trading with me in the past, I am still very much interested, but I still probably need some time before I'll be ready to work on art.
So, for the second part of the title, who's open for commission? You or your friend? Someone whose art I probably don't know about yet? Only one rule, don't pout if your suggestion isn't picked this time.

General | Posted 14 years agoFinally watched Hop, gotta say it was better than expected, but I was still left with a feeling it could've been better with a little more polish. I like how movies featuring fluffy creatures are turning a little more mature than I'm used to, though Surf's Up is even better example of that I think. Of course Pixar is still in it's own league when it comes to depth of the stories.

If I made an art CD, would YOU buy it?
General | Posted 14 years ago...that is the question, because this is something I've been thinking about every now and then for quite a while. :3 So, if I made the said CD/DVD...
-I would include pretty much all critter/furry related stuffs I've drawn over the years, except the scribbles that suck most, so it would be probably ~400-500 individual pics. I think I will end up rescanning most of my originals to make them all neat and HD, and I would include a higher resolution version of most of my digital works as well.
-Most likely I would include a free pencil sketch original. Nothing too complicated or detailed, probably max. two characters and no chance to point out flaws as I would try to finish each in one sitting, but a free sketch regardless. The size of the sketch depends on which kind of case I'd end up with, currently I'm thinking of using standard DVD cases.
-Price depends on many many things I haven't decided yet, but would probably be in the 10$-20$ range + postage. Is that too much?

Back to school and stuff
General | Posted 15 years agoSo, school started again about two weeks ago, and already I feel like I was smacked in the head with a typewriter or something. x_x; There was a ton of paperwork right away, I got it done, but there's more to come. Seriously it feels like this semester is going to be the busiest so far, we have tons of writing to do, and we should finish two mobile game projects by the end of February. Good thing about those games is that they will be commercial projects, so there's some hope of actually getting a few dollars out of that work. >_>
This weekend I will be traveling again, and next one will be spent in Global Game Jam. Even with all the busyness, I would not let it go if I was paid to do so! Anyone who has ever been interested in making games, check out their website, find out the nearest site and come along, it will be worth it!
So, all this means that I will probably have less time to spend online or do the fluffy arts, but I will do my best to finish the few sketch commissions I have underway, plus some trades. If you've showed interest in a commission or a trade, I will let you know once I have a spot open~ :3

General | Posted 15 years ago...may it be more peaceful and prosperous than the last. xP Nothing too bad happened to me this year (fingers crossed, not midnight yet... >_>), but I've been hearing all around that the 2010 wasn't particularly gentle to people I know. Thinking back there were not too many positive headlines either. (Save the NASA's great discovery, I wanna see aliens on Europa!)
So, bunneh, it's not too hard to make the year better than the last, don't fail us!
As for other stuff, me and Tiu will travel back to out folks in a couple of days, meaning I will be less active for a few more days after that until I return, after that it's business as usual. I will try to continue working on the few doodle commissions I have under work (as well as some trades) before we go, but if I don't have enough time I will finish those later~ Either way, I feel like drawing and new art can be expected in near future. :3
PS. I'm almost expecting for someone to correct me on the date of Chinese new year. :P

Again we have a chance to buy some excellent games and do good at the same time, so go for it~ It's pay what you want and every dollar counts, so there are few excuses not to. You can even customize where you would like your money to go; the game developers, to defending people's digital rights via EFF, or to Child's Play which is an organization aiming to improve the quality of life for hospitalized children.
In fact... I wish I could've paid more myself, so let's do this: If ten people here will get the bundle and pay 1$ or more for it, I will do a miniature raffle and draw a free sketch commission for the winner. :3 Of course I have no way of telling whether you paid or not, but I trust you guys. x3 (The winner may have to wait his or her commission until after holidays, I've been awfully busy lately. For the same reason I'm only drawing a sketch commish instead of something more spiffy. Sorry. <:3)

The Cappy & Penelope pic is probably the most confusing at the moment; sure enough they are young in the show, but does the rule apply since they don't look particularly different from the adult hams in pics?? @_@
Anyway, I will go sleep for a few hours and start the operation after that, see ya~

Replacing some images after weekend

Most of what will be replaced I hardly consider cubs myself, but I want to play safe rather than lose all the lovely comments on them. <3 I won't replace mature pokemon pics with first- or baby forms in them; we all know forms are not relative to age, and as far as I know admins have promised that non-antro pokemon will not be touched. Most of what will be replaced I hardly consider cubs myself, but I want to play safe rather than lose all the lovely comments on them. <3 I won't replace mature pokemon pics with first- or baby forms in them; we all know forms are not relative to age, and as far as I know admins have promised that non-antro pokemon will not be touched. Thoughts on the new AUP
General | Posted 15 years agoSo, what the majority of FA voted against a few years ago came to be and mature cub art is now no-go.
My personal opinion? There is cub art I like, there is cub art that I find repulsive, but I believe all of it has a right to exist and remain available to those who happen to like it, regardless of what I think of any single picture.
I understand the reasoning behind the change to the AUP, and I also understand that a company such as AlertPay would want to keep it's public image clean, but it's rather sad that people have become so paranoid that they feel they have to protect themselves on such a broad scale, at the cost of a lot of innocent artists.

I will do what Brainsister and some others have suggested as one possibility and replace the few controversial images in my gallery with a placeholder. There's a possibility I will later provide a link to the picture on Inkbunny as I upload them there. (I wonder if that is ok?) I have no intention of getting rid of all the comments & discussion on those pics. <3 I actually hope that FA admins would do the same, if it's even possible, and leave it to the artist to decide whether they want to remove the whole thing or not.

I'm taking two quick pencil sketch commissions: 5$ for single character, 7$ for two characters. I might do more later if these work out and the circumstances don't change too much. I intend to finish these before weekend, hopefully tomorrow. I'm particularly in the mood for drawing some rule 34 if someone's interested, just remember that critters are what I draw best. :3 Note me or post a comment if you want a slot, no need to pay until I'm finished! First-come, first served. I will need to go to sleep soon, but I will reply as soon as I can.

I've had the account since the site was in beta phase, but only now I've found time to actually start setting up the gallery little by little. There isn't anything you won't find from my FA account for now, but I may post some exclusive stuff later. For that part I had prints or something similar in mind, should I decide to make some exclusive stuff for sale.. That is, if I come to conclusion such thing is ok. While I have nothing against others doing it, I prefer to share my work for free. But then again, there are times when I would prefer to have a little extra money. <:3
Inkbunny itself has many things I think certain other sites should learn from. The features are rich, the site is pretty customizable, and the possibility to gain a little pocket money. <3 The only thing I would criticize is the bit too strict upload policy, even though I understand why it's there.
