Reviews officially Return in January.
General | Posted 5 years agoHey everyone, I was going to get everything back up and running for the return of reviews in October, but with the hurricanes that affected my state, there was a reason for the delay. With the Holidays and a busy schedule, I have to move it to January. Stay tuned and ty for your patience everyone.
Updates.
General | Posted 6 years agoHey guys, it's been a bit, but I finally got the time to update on a few things.
1.
The Cigar Review will be back, starting next week for the month with Wynwood Hills. Next Month will be for RoMa Craft Whiskey Rebellion afterwards. Been tackling FWA commissions like hell, but things will be back to normal soon.
2.
Telegram and Discord updates as well will be coming with some links and invitations for more people to come and chat.
3.
Might be in the making of some sticker or button swag to show you are a fellow botl and sotl. Soon will hashtag fotl (Furry of the Leaf) We still have shirts for the group that are up for grabs. https://artworktee.com/shop/cigar-furs-spirits/
https://artworktee.com/shop/cigar-furs-snarl/
4.
I met some fellow cigar furs from another particular group at FWA and after discussion I will be working a merger with them. I am surprised and happy as hell that there are more of us. Will be doing further discussion on what we can do to expand.
5.
Will be in need of a future partner again, b/c there's alot to do even for myself. If you are interested, drop me a line.
That's pretty much it for the time being. Thanks for sticking around gone. Much love.

Anthrocon 2018 Cigar_Furs Meetup is coming...
General | Posted 7 years agoHey guys, it's been awhile since I bumped a journal.
Anthrocon is coming around the corner and I had the permission of my new boss that I can attend.
I will be having a guest host to join me at Jim and Bean. The Leaf and Bean crew are looking forward to having us again as always. Will be working with my buddy on his schedule for the con to set up a meet up and the shop is going to stay open as long we want for the meet up. BYOB if responsible as well. Will announce a schedule along with a picture promo to alert soon as we figure out a schedule.
Stay Tuned...

Thinking about making one this weekend. :D

Me and Blondie need your help....
General | Posted 9 years agoHey guys,
A bit of news as of the future of the group. No, we are not dead and/or going to die, but changes are coming and this is more than what we can do. Since FWA was a bust since nobody showed up due to either timing or schedules, it got me thinking of a few things. Due to
and
suggesting other meet ups in different scenarios for them, this may be an option in the future. As for AC, we still love Jim and his LEaf and Bean business and have no plans of ever leaving him. Jim is still a thing for AC. There maybe future events for him as well. John for Cigar Times in Atlanta, whether you have time or not, he still welcomes us with open arms and I encourage anyone to give him some love and business.
Ideas and suggestions from Foxamoore and GuNMouTH:
Foxamoore: The idea would mainly suggest that a major part of going to conventions is to get everything set up early and get what needs to be done either for business or fun and eventually when it's all over, that's when your moment of Zen is to relax once it's nearly or all over and you want to unwind. Quite honestly that makes alot of sense since people who have busy busy schedules. This may be a future thing of different takes on meets.
GuNMouTH: Even when there are lounges, sometimes they can be a bit of a travel whether it;s a few blocks, or several. The idea itself is setting like party meet ups, either for smokers or anyone who would like to socialize. The issue is setting up a place at the Hotel, in the hotel, or a private area where smoking is allowed. Drinks and cigars would be provided, but that would be a byob and byoc thing honestly. Depending on the scenario and who sets it it up will play a factor. This may be a future plan for other meets.
Representatives for Cigar Furs: This may not come as a surprise to some, but when it comes to doing a group like this, there is so much that me and
can do, cover, or places to set up. The idea is that we need some of you to help us spread out to cons and lounges that we can give some business to. Not only that, but be part of the inner workings of the group. With certain cigar companies having reps in certain sectors of the US spreading out to do business and sign contracts with cigar shops, you will be like that, except represent the group in spreading the word and hosting future meets depending where you go and what you find. You report to us on what goes down, who is te local shop, etc. We will give you feedback on who will host and spread the word. With every con coming once a year in each state, we will need 2 -3 reps for that con whoever is able to go. For this to be done, there is a catch.......sadly, since we are a non-profit group, we can't pay you, but we can symbolize you as a major gear that keeps the group running. All we ask is for your commitment to helping us spread out. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED, LET US KNOW! Like I said before, me and Blondie can only do so much.
AC '16: It's still on and a schedule will be layed out soon. Stay tuned for that.
As of now, these are the updates.
Of course I will mention this again. We need representatives to help spread the group to farther territories besides AC and FWA. Let us know if you are interested in being a rep.
See you all in the future. :3

FWA Con Report: Good News and Mostly Bad News/Updates too
General | Posted 9 years agoHey guys, it's time I posted some updates and report on things.
FWA:
The con was great and vibrant like it should be. I found some cigar smokers and gave away alot of Room 101 sticks. Also got some watches and Twitter shout outs.
The Cigar meet at Cigars however......was a bit bad. Nobody showed up. I think it was either 1 of 2 things. The time was bad or not alot of people got the word was interested at the time. With some head nods from people I met, it wasn't really up the schedule for some people. I mean you did have to take the taxi just to get the place. $8 a ride from there and back. John was excited to ave us really. Being that it was the closest shop in the area it was surprising that it wasn't too far either.
gunmouth mentioned a few ideas between him and a friend about timing and location could be a major factor, not just in the spectrum, but also what is offered.
Sunday at the last day, I brought
foxamoore to the lounge and more advice was given on timing and the people who would do this after a con to relax. This may become a future factor for bigger turnouts from both of them. I will discuss this with
blondevelvet for future meets. Time for some change.
Stolen Cigar Travel Humidor:
It was on a Saturday right after I got some commissions booked for Artist Alley that I went on the elevator to help out Cyn back into the room when she forgot here key card. not realizing that I didn't have the travel humidor in the room, I left t on the elevator. Soon I filed for a lost and found item and even a police report. I wasn;t going to get it back. I know for a fact that everyone who was on the elevator except for a bellhop employee was part of the con. Quite honestly if the person who stole it is reading this, I will say this: You are a fucking thief and hope karma will come after you. I give these away out of my fucking pocket to spread the word of my group and you stole it. I really hope something bad happens to you. Regardless of any case, alot fo people were on the search of it as well, and I thank them for the concern, but it wasn't really important, but the principle of the matter was what it was about. I still had a great con, and that's all that mattered.
Future Meets:
AC '16 will be held at Jim's Leaf and Bean as usual. Will make an art piece and schedule a date and time soon. So be sure to mark your calenders and have an appetite for coffee and cigars. Will be hosted by Blondie again. :3
Cigar Reviews:
They will return in May. I took this month off for con work.
That's all for now guys. Everyone take care. :3

Trying something new with promos...*free pics of your sonas*
General | Posted 10 years agoOver the course of my busy shedule tackling other accounts and projects, I haven't done some promos in awhile besides the reviews. I had an idea
pop up one day to give it more character.
When I draw your sona, I want to give him/her more of a profile on why they are part of the group.
I will need:
1. A ref of your sona.
2. a variety of ciagr brands you like.
3. Your favorite drink choices.
4. Fav places to lounge while enjoying a cigar.
Think of it as a profile pic. ^^
So send them my way guys! ^^

Cigar Reviews for each month...
General | Posted 11 years agoSince I haven't had alot of request for reviews,
I'm going to take a new approach for it. I might as well take a look at
4 cigars from a brand and put them in a month's spotlight. If there is a
specific one from the brans, give me a buzz on it, till then I'll be doing my reviews as usual.

Updates!
General | Posted 11 years agoHey guys, we are still here and things are progressing slowly, so here are the updates.
Cons:
FWA '15 I got in touch with one lounge, but that call was a bit awkward, so I don;t believe that particular place would be a place to go, or maybe I'm wrong. However there is another place called Winston's Cigars. Unfortunatley their phone lines are not avaliable to connect, so I couldn't get in contact with them for some starnge reason.
I may probably make a schedule meet up soon. Stay tuned for that.
Cuban Cigars Legal again?:
We have all heard the news and rumors for the passed month and a half on a decision by the president and mainly congress and this could mean an end to 5 decades of an embargo which some critics believe it should have ended 40 years ago. B/c of this Altadas Cigar Co.'s phones have been ringing off the hook and emails filling every second to what a decision will be made in the changes coming up. Altadas own about a little over 50% on what goes on with cuban tobacco and other compnaies like RP and others have their own cuban made blends, but the problem is on waiting for a decision to make the next step in doing business again with America. Everybody has been preparing for this scenario and they are ready to make thier move. As far as the sale of cubans, there are however regualtions we have to consider. The tax sales would most likely be around 40% sales tax. Also the fact on what is allowed is the amount of purchases has been confirmed. You are allowed $100 worth of cubans to take home. As far as tourism goes, that is still in the works for now. What I can say is that this is a big big change of the times to come. Let's hope that we can bring the legends of smoke back. :3
As far as I know that is most of the updates for now.
Till then I want to hear from you guys, whether it's a art pic, a photo, or a story. We want to hear from you. :3

Major Updates/Anthrocon/Related News
General | Posted 11 years agoHey guys!
Now for some updates...
Web page changes:
Between alot of project I do with my personal account, commission account, comic account,
and possible retur of te radio show account, I still have not forgotten things here and will
try my best to keep things alive here. However there will be some things will be a bit changing thourghout the
time here.
Anthrocon Cigar Party and info:
It was a great success to see all of you again and newer people as well.
It was sad however that Jim was not there this year since he was back in Honduras.
He could however see us through the webcam. :D
Hope the next time, we will have a bigger turn out and keep the business support flowing.
As far as some may remember, I will no longer be able to give away cigar at the con due to reasons that will
remain confidential to the respect and understanding of the staff. HOWEVER, that does not mean I can't give them
away off property and at the parties.
Cigar Reviews of the Week:
Starting next weekend I will be doing reviews differently.
I will take photo snapshots with my phone and will upload them with reviews and descriptions
of the flavor and everything like the jornals. It will give everyone a better look on what to get. :3
Smoke Tiny Chats:
Sadly, due to the schedules of myself and most of everyone else,we will no longer be doing them. The glitches of the site is still
repetitive and can get annoying. Also of of course, not everyone can come with the schedules that they tackle.
My apologies everyone.
Member Activity:
I know you guys have busyschedules to take care of, but it would really be cool if you guys had time to contribute
with some projects, photos, art, journals, and anything to promote the page. Of course credit will be given and me and
Stephen are always impressed with the enthusiasm and talent of our members.
Convention Hopping:
We all know that AC is a big Con and ALOT of people go there, but that's not the only one.
In order to spread the word and other shops to lounge at, I will be trying newer cons in the future
to spread our legs in. TFF and FWA are on the way for next year, and I will be prepping for that soon.
Making Cigar Furs Blend Available for Purchase:
This is still a touchy subject to grasp upon, but rest assured, some details will be discussed with Steven in the
future. The biggest issue with all of it is the concept of legal transporting and taxes. But still,
things will be discussed in the future, so stay tuned.
Message from Steven:
Steven is really impressed on how much of you guys appreciate the tobacco leaf with cigars and hopes
to look forward to more activity and appreciation. from all of you. He gives you all his regards and a salute. ^^
That's all for now guys and remember to sit back and relax and have a good smoke. :3

try my best to keep things alive here.

After the little meet up from last year as seen here:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11057740/
Jim was impressed of the little turn out.
He was given an art piece by
blondevelvet and
had some good laughs along the way. He gave everyone a free shot of Nicaraguan Rum
along with calling in a pizza for everyone who was hungry. All in all, Jim was a great host last year
and I think that the visitors this year should be 5x as much from last year in showing Jim that we
support his business. I encourage all of you to SPREAD THE WORD about the party.
That's why the image I posted up here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13604544/
I give everyone who sees this to post and spread the word if anyone wants to come and join the party to
do so. :3
Rules of Etiquette:
Jim's place is a cigar shop, but also serves coffee but doesn't serve alcohol.
However it is a BYOB established business and if everyone is the appropriate age, it is allowed.
I will ask that everyone be on their best behavior. No rough housing,
making obscene gestures or anything that will bother other customers.
If anyone violates these rules, they will be asked to leave. I want to makes sure
that we will show Jim we appreciate his business.
That's it for the info folks.
Plan ahead and set your dates up.
I'll see you in Pittsburgh! :D

This could be the end of Premium Cigars.../FDA Petition...
General | Posted 11 years agoAs of lately right under our noses, our good American FDA is been at work since 2009 to construct a monstrousity
that only a few could predict. If you thought that HR 1639 was bad.....it's now considered child's play to what they have
stormed up. This could be the end of cigars that we love to smoke.
This is also happening to other forms of Tobacco:
Cigarettes
Vapes
Pipes
Hookahs
All are in trouble from these regulations.
Go to our brother and sister pages to show support and fight for our right to smoke:
cigarscalies
hookah-club
Hookah_Furs
vapefurs,

cancersticks
As for us cigar smokers, we only have about 84 days until something is decided here in the US.
Here is the site with info on what will happen:

Final note:
Since Bush, I had completely lost just about all of my faith in our government.
I knew when it came to what is considered to keep us safe and sound in our own little nation
is understandable, but when it comes to the point where the people who are incharge show the greatest signs of
apathy, that's when you start to question what is considered just.
Smoking cigars at the lounge with friends and a good drink is one the only things that puts my mind at ease from the long week of
work, and I will be damned if I let this bill take away that. Along with with the fellow smoke groups, I urge you to act on this.
I know you may be busy with other things, but I believe with alot of voices and spreading the message, we can put a stop to this.
If you wan't to keep smoking your favorite stick without regulations, then go vote NO the Premium Cigar Regulations and FIGHT FOR YOU
RIGHT TO SMOKE!!!
*salutes you all and puffs*

Cigar Review of the week: JFR Vintage Seleccion Corojo
General | Posted 11 years agoWhen looking at the way that these bad boys were displayed,
I suspected something big coming from them as well. Turns out that they are
supposed to be head/pig-tail in the air facing up which is recommended by reps.
I got me a corojo to start out with and went from there with a
shot of Maker's Mark and Coke.
Wrapper: Nicaragua
Binder/Filler: Nicaragua
Size: 5.5 x 50
Pre Smoke and Construction:
Small veins and lumps make it look a little rough, like just recntly being rolled fresh.
Couple spots, but nothing too frail.
First Third:
The draw was very loose from the shaggy wrapper tail to igniting the
binder and filler. A good wood and earthy flavor. Peppery notes soon lignered from the
exhale. Subtle but a nice start.
Second Third:
The woody flavor progressed until the peppery notes smoothened out a little bit,
giving it a little more relaxed feel. I did hint a couple of leather notes from the exhale though.
Third and Final:
The woody flavor still remained, but the pepper notes soon turned to a sweet flavor.
Soon a creamy and roasty after taste came to finnish her off till my pallet felt the burn.
Literally could not let go until it got too hot for my tongue. X3
Overall Conclusion:
A good start for the day I would say. Medium bodied never tasted so good. ^^
If you like that kind of taste and flavor, I'd highly recommend this stick. :3
That's it for this week until next.
If you have a suggestion, please drop me a line or note and give a request. ^^

Important Updates/Steven's Reaction to "In my ow words"/
General | Posted 12 years agoHey guys,
I have a lot to say.
Been busy with stuff as of lately but I assure you that
we are still active.
ART: It's still a priority here for me to promote members whether they are active or not.
Contributions are still accepted here as well, even though we have not gotten a lot, we still appreciate it
if you would like to help promote.
SMOKE TINY CHATS: Me and
granitetail have discussed on some problems with them as of recently.
We've come down to the point where there is a shit load of them, so much that everything is wrong with them.
Problems:
1.Timing
2. People Showing up only to have problems with connections
3. Same people showing up to a point where it's become a boring routine.
4. Newer People Showing up and not able to communicate b/c of interruptions
5. People interrupting others b/c of either lagging from the page or other reasons
6. Touchy Issues that leave others unsettled
Most of this has gotten to the point where we may need to take a little break from Tiny Chats for awhile.
I'll give an update along with some promo art as well.
IN MY OWN WORDS: I really love what people have done so far for contributing in the idea, but I have not yet received anymore as of lately. XD
If you guys have anything to contribute along with some personal quotes from yourself, PLEASE see what you can do. :3
STEVEN'S REACTION TO CIGAR FURS UPDATES AND MEMBERS: One thing is for sure when it came to me and Steven's decision on making the group one iof us was going to be more active on one thing than the other. Steven has a a lot of work to do when it comes to running the shop. So much that he has barely enough time to discuss thigs with me on the subject matter. I give him updates once in awhile to keep things in perspective. As far as his reaction for everything, he's impressed abou how many of you have decided to join and show you love of cigars here and there. He loves the promos, but one thing that he was baffled and astonished by was the "In my own Words..." pictures and quotes. One thing is for sure, is that he wants to see more of that. He also would like to meet everyone one day, but when it comes to his job, it can get a bit sketchy at times. Still he is wowed by the amount of people who joined and he salutes us on our love for the stogies. :3
ANTHROCON: I got back with my boss on the whole convention escapade, and it has been confirmed that I can go! :D
Soon I will be getting with Jim at Leaf and Bean for a scheduled party for the 4th of July. Hopefully I will see a lot of you there.
More updates soon.
That prettymuch covers everything guys.
See you next round too. :3

"In my own words" Cigar Promos/Need Your Help!
General | Posted 12 years agoHeyo Folks!
I had a convo with one of our members and an idea came to mind
when he sent me a photo of him smoking a good cigar in a good scenic area.
I then thought of those promos of people in photos promoting a product with a
few of their words to draw in a possible future client. So I did this:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12351927/
I mean, I still draw fursonas of people to show that we're a group for
common interests in cigars, but there needs to be a little more when it
comes to showing how much of a strong group we can be.
Where you guys come in:
If anyone would like to contribute any type of scenic photo
of themselves either as themselves or in a suit, which would make a cool promo as well,
smoking a good cigar, then by all means, I welcome anything. Also, give a personal quote
yourself so I can add it in.
Anyways, ty everyone for still sticking around. X3
