Cigar Review of the Week: Cohiba Crystal Corona
General | Posted 12 years agoHey guys,
Another week gone by and
junowolf has another one
to give.
The Chohiba Crystal Corona
Knowing the Cohiba Co. and the history of the name being associated
with Cuba itself, there always has been a mention just for the name itself.
Someone mentions Cohiba, they think Cuban. Typical newbies. XD
Strength: Medium
Wrapper: Cameroon
Size: Corona 5 1/2 x 42
Origin: Dominican Republic
The Pre-light:
Coming out of the glass tube, I found the scent to be a bit of a bite
in spice but subtle and sweet. The wrapper however was a little dry and kind or brittle.
A few lumps and bumps here and there, but I could only wonder how the lighting would change that fact.
First Half:
The first part of the light was like the scent itself, a bit of a bite. As the first few puffs were drawn the flavor went from subtle to a bit dry.
It soon began to become a little imbalanced. I only hoped there would be a bit of a change in the halfway.
Half-way to Finnish:
It changed a bit to the point of a little bit of sweetness undertone. but then fizzled out toward the end. I didn't know how to put it out besides just dropping it in the ashtray confused.
Final thoughts:
I've had plenty of Cohibas in the time I've started smoking cigars. I've had plenty of Gold Labels, which is the most sought after
Cuban Brand Cohiba, it's nuts to know that it can be imitated to more fakes. The point being that if Cohiba can done to the point where there are
other blends to another point where counterparts are made just for the consumption of legal American purchases, I would have to question how the business is being
done. To just keep a pure brand name alive to where people use it as a common household name for any cigar? You'd have to try and keep up a reputation that really supports your heritage in the business that you run from then to now. I honestly believe sometimes the Cohiba label from one stick to another that is legal for American standards besides Cuban, should be as good the label perceives it to be. Also the price for my cigar was about $20 for just a little corona. I really can't think of any other words besides, what have you guys become? Monte Christo??? I mean they've been in the business for a damn long time, and they still hold up for they're blend , even with the sky rocketed price. It could be worse. They could end up like Ashton Cigars. *dies* Point being in a nutshell, the Cohiba label is one of the oldest Cuban brand names from then to now. If the label has a great name, it should have a great taste. Keep the positive flow going with the grand history. :3
Anyways that's it for this week.
If you have a review, just let me know. :3

Cigar Review of the Week: Torano Master Maduro Robusto
General | Posted 12 years agoHey Guys!
Time for another review, since no feedback or suggestions since last one.
I'm going to have a little favorite of mine talked about.
Yet again I'm going towards Caros Torano. X9
The Master Maduro Robusto.
I usually end the night with this great maduro.
Size: Robusto (5 x 50)
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano Maduro
Binder: Habano Ecuador
Filler: Nicaraguan and Dominican Republic
Strength: Medium
Body: Full
Flavor: Full
There are the other sizes, but I mostly prefer the robusto b/c the size isn't complex as the others.
You could say that it's just right. ;3
I usually have it with a Kahlua with cream to equalize
the pallet balance.
Pre-light:
The nice and dark color to it brings a tough look, but not to eye pallet soon later.
Somewhat oily in appearance as well.
First Half:
I nice and bold punch that soon softens. The texture is a combo of a tight leather yet semi sweet
flavor like milk chocolate. It still holds to a certain point even to the halfway mark.
The finnish:
As soon as the rest is compiled up in texture it eases a bit on the more harsher side, but not as harsh as you think. ;3
All I can say is that I smoke it till the flame starts to touch my pallet. XD
This cigar by far is one of my personal favs from the torano line.
If you like a good bold and sweet flavor, this is the stick for you. ;3
That's it for this week.
If you have a request, drop my a comment.
See you next review. :3

Cigar Review of the Week: Torano Vault d-042
General | Posted 12 years agoThis week's review is from
junowolf with another pick. :3
The Torano Vault d-042
Knowing Carlos Torano Family Cigars,
you're smoking probably one of, if not the OLDEST
yet some still debate the FIRST major Brand from the
beginning of Co. What I can suggest you all do is
look them up and you'll be surprised by the history of them.
I will admit, my favorite of the Torano line is
The Vault, but when I was introduced to the new d-042
blend a couple of weeks ago, it intrigued me to be curious.
From the red and gold band label to the Habano wrapper, I was drawn in.
Country of Origin: Nicaragua
Factory: Plasencia Cigars S.A.
Wrapper: Ecuadoran Habano
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua & Pennsylvania
Medium-Full Bodied
Pre-Light:
From the Habano Wrapper's strong appearanceand intimmedating
color, it was sure to pack a punch, until I noticed the sweet notes. X3
Lighting and first half:
The first few puffs start off with a big big kicker, but leave off an oaky
or cedary after puff taste, but smoothens out at the beginning of the
halfway segment.
Halfway-Near finnish:
From the harshenss of the first half, it's slowly built up punch smoothens out
to a sweet and oaky flavor from the after tastes. Surprising from start to finnish
it goes to from harsh to gentle, even for a robusto. :3
Overall thoughts:
For someone to have a combo of tastes from either one thing with spice and pep
to a sweet sweet finnish, it's def a one that should be saved for an extra special occasion.
I would also add, to let it age a bit before lighting up as well. All and all, give it a try. :3
Well guys another one down out of the thousands of choices guys.
You have a suggestion or request for the next review, just drop me
a line. ;3

Cigar Review of the Week: Punch Upper-Cut
General | Posted 12 years agoHeyo guys!
Sorry for the delay last week. Had some errands and
scheduled meets to attend to. Andyways,
on with the review! :3
This week's review is from
sandmancsg
Being a fan of the Punch brand, I can see that he has an eye
for the classics. Also the fact that there are plenty of old cuban blends still this very
day of Punch, the apple doesn;t fall far from the tree in great quality.
Review:
Size: 5.2 x 50
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Pre-Light:
The red tone of this sumatra along with the gold and scenic
image of the tobacco field gave me a smile enough to know that I was
in for a treat. Even for a sumatra wrapper it had a spicy yet sweet tone
to the smell and taste before lighting.
Smoking:
Despite some of the bumps and ridges, it had a good even burn to it.
Barley any finger-nailing in balance. The flavors weaved in and out for a bit between a
sweet, leather, spicy, or coffee undertone. About halfway down some of the spices started to arise and
the medium body started to a little point of becoming a little fuller in body, but remains a
nice and easy smoke. I drank a Jack and Coke with it so I had no complaints. If I had a couple more, this like the Tabak
would definitely be an after dinner cigar with a good cup of coffee. :3
Personal thoughts:
Being for the price of any usual stick like a robusto or a tubo, it's one of the sticks that
good to take with you especially when you're out somewhere, either fishing or any outdoor activity.
So for anyone with a tight budget especially (depending on the state you live in with taxes), it's a buy worth
the price range. :3
Welp that's all for this week.
If you have a request, just let me know. :3

Cigar Review of the Week: Bolivar Toro Glass Tubo
General | Posted 12 years agoHey guys,
Since I have not recieved a new request for a review, I'm going to keep it going with a pick of my
own just to keep it going. XD
I'm choosing one of my many personal favorites.
The Bolivar Toro Glass Tubo.
Knowing that your dealing with a very old cuban cigar name, you're going with
alot of history in cigar brands and quality. If you do happen to find a cigar with
a picture of an englishman on the band of the cigar, I'd say grab it while you can.
But still since the embargo is still active, you can hardly get it....BUT, there is another
blend that can be purchased in the US. So, what I can say is that give this a try. ;3
Cigar Stats:
Length: 6"
Ring Gauge: 52
Wrapper: Honduras
Binder: USA/Connecticut
Filler: Dom Rep, Nicaragua
The wrapper itself is very very oily a few bumps here and there, but
with those details, I don;t see it as an issue. The sweet undertones from the prelight says that
you would consider this type of cigar after a big meal as a treat or a desert b/c of how the medium sweet
can soothe the pallet either with a cup of coffee or a shot of Maker's Mark with coke. :3
Mostly Medium to a Full Body, all I can say is that I get about a few of these a moth, b/c I
can never go wrong with these guys. On another note guys, this cigar gets better with age.
Stock up a few and leave a couple in your humidor for about 6-7 months for a little more taste than you
would expect. ;3

Cigar Review of the Week: Tabak Especial Maduro Rubusto
General | Posted 12 years agoHey Gang!
Drake here with another review for the week.
Our next review is from
blondevelvet on the
Tabak Especial Maduro Rubusto.
When noticing the packaging for the box, I knew what exactly would be
in store with me when it comes to the Drew Estate Cigar Co. Fine quality and taste.
Many people know the Drew Estate for their blends of The Acid, The Egg, The Medusa,
The Undercrown, the Java, and other flavor infused sticks. :3
The Facts on Tabak:
Strength: Mostly Medium to a little full body.
Size: 6x52
Origin on Tobacco: Nicaragua
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Maduro
Binder and Filler: Nicaraguan Sumatra and Criollo
The construction of this robusto was very unique down to the shaggy footing of the
end. The pre-light of it was smooth with the aroma of coffee with a little hint of cedar
and cocoa. I was surely in for a treat.
The smoke from the first few draws was an easy going light taste. As it went down almost to the middle
it started to pick up in coffee and cocoa tones. Near the end it was unchangable till I felt the last tip start to burn
my tongue, meaning she had given me all I could muster. Along while smoking the cigar, I had to do my pallet
justice with a shot of Khalua with cream, for the full sweetness in flavor. :3
Overview:
Drew Estate when it comes to flavor always delivers it right to the punch.
Still today, it brings in newer cigar smokers in the youth to try something new.
All I can say is that if you like coffee and something sweet, you need to try the Tabak Especial. :3
Thanks Blondeie. :D
If you have a review, let me know, and I'll post next week.
See you then.

Cigar Review of the Week: Camacho
General | Posted 12 years agoRequested from
junowolf :3
The cigar upon request was the Camacho SLR Maduro.
I had had a few but not enough to make a complete analysis
on the flavor and texture. What I can say is that I haven't had a
good tasting Maduro like it in awhile.
Sadly I can;t review it for 2 reasons.
1. We don;t have it at the shop.
2. Things have changed for the Camacho Co. as of recently.
So in respect I will be doing a Camacho Review on the Co. itself. :3
Camacho:
Founded in 1961 Simon Camacho and was eventually acquired by the
Eiroa family in 1995. Being originally from Cuba, Simon was exiled and eventually began his
cigar business in Miami. It hailed alot of rave reviews and fans in America, and even got the
thumbs up by the British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. Since then it';s become a more recognizable
name throughout the cigar world and there's always a review here and there. It prettymuch stuck out.
When I was first introduced to the Camacho blend by Steven, there were a few sticks at the time
before the humidor was expanded.
The blends:
Corojo
Diplomat
Scorpion
Liberty: Limited Edition
SLR Maduro
Triple Maduro
Havana
Room 101
Coyolar
and many more.
Everyone of them is unique.
Eventually it got to the point where Steven brought up some shocking news a few months nack on
how Camacho was being bought out by Davidoff, one of the biggest cigar names in history. When reviewing the details
on what was being done, we soon turned to dread feelings. Everything was being changed except the name. The
blend, the band desings, the appearances, and others was changed. It was until some reviews came in from magazine reviewers,
we were amazed at the positive feedback that the new blends were showing, so eventually we got some in.
We were blown away by not only the quality, but the constant flavor it could hold up to expectations.
What I can say is that, there is way more in store that Davidoff is producing toward Camacho fans everywhere.
If you like something with good quality and taste, I'd definetely recommend Camacho.
In fact, here are my Recommendations:
Old School and New:
Corojo
Triple Maduro
Scorpion
Diplomat
Liberty
10th Anniversary
Room 101
Room 101 Namakubi
Till next week guys, keep smoking. :3

General | Posted 12 years agoHey guys,
It was almost last notice, but with patience, a couple of favors, a few
phonecalls, and some offers along the way...we finally did it.
Thanks to one of our members, we have found a new place to
have a meet and greet since Cioppino's will be closed 4th of July.
Here's the place:
http://leafandbeanstrip.com/
It's also a Rocky Patel Lounge, which only 32 exist
in the world today. Be sure to pick up a Rocky Patel BURN Cigar
as well. Only exclusive in RP Lounges. :3
Here are the basics:
Place:
Leaf and Bean
Time:
4-6pm
(If more people arrive before the shop closes at 6,
the rest of it will be at the side of the westin outside,
so be sure to purchase some cigars from the shop before closing. :3
Directions:
2200 Penn Ave.
http://www.leafandbeanstrip.com/apps/location/
Hosts:
blondevelvet &
scientificvixen
Rules of Etiquette:
After talking with the shop owner Jim, he had no problem with the get together.
He did have a couple of concerns with the behavior that may or may not happen
with people. If anyone is acting up, doing something to bother other customers,
or doing anything innappropriate, Blondie and SV will kicked you out. No toleration for anything
foolish in a place of business. It's merely a place to relax, sit down, have a drink, smoke
a cigar, and enjoy things before the con begins. Hopefully we will continue to do more business
with Jim. :3
That's prettymuch it guys.
Have fun at AC without me.
See you next year. :D

foolish in a place of business. It's merely a place to relax, sit down, have a drink, smoke
a cigar, and enjoy things before the con begins. Hopefully we will continue to do more business
with Jim. :3
That's prettymuch it guys.
Have fun at AC without me.
See you next year. :D
The Anthrocon Cigar Party Good/Bad News/WE NEED A HOST!!!
General | Posted 12 years agoWelp it's time to announce what's going on.
The BAD NEWS:
As it turns out, I gave Christian another call to let him know that if we aren't able to go,
then he doesn't have to worry about it and we'll try next year.
There was no answer so I left a message instead.
There's always next year guys, BUT, I have another place in mind.
The GOOD NEWS:
I remember when the party winded down and the time was getting late,
we went to the Marriot Hotel on the 3rd floor where there's an outside patio
with a grill area, like a backyard bbq porch for people to chill. Once you get off
the elevator, you see it through the glass. :D
That's where you guys will be going. :3
Hopefully it'll hold about 30-40 people in the whole area.
Sinc ethere will be no food, drinks, or cigars...that's where
you guys will have to bring your own stuff. However when it comes to Alchohal,
I'm not so sure if it would be allowed, but I'm not taking any chances when it comes to
that. So I don;t think alchohal drinks would be allowed in there however anyway due to the Hotel rules.
If any of you don;t like that, then that's not my f***ing probelm. You want to get drunk and possibly cause a
disturbance, go to a bar. 9.9 As far as I know, I don;t want anyone to get hurt or get into trouble by disturbing the
guest of that hotel. IT's better to be safe.
WE NEED A HOST!!!!!!!!:
Again, I am not able to go to AC this year.
Funds man....the funds...x__x
That's why I need someone who is willing to host the party and make sure
that everyone has fun and is safe during it. If anyone is willing to be a host for one
night, set a timeline on when to arrive and leave and whatnot, just send me a note either here or
at
drakerogers.
That's it for now, but more updates will come soon.
Thanks for being patient guys. <:3

Regarding ANTRHOCON...
General | Posted 12 years agoAwhile back I gave Christian from Cioppino's in Pittsburg a call, and we got to discussing another party for this year.
As it turns out, Christian wants us back!!! :D
UNFORTUNATELY.....he may not be open on the 4th though, but he said to give him a call back this month to confirm some updates.
I'll be giving him a call on Friday to see what is up.
I'll give an update on what the scenario is. Who knows? Maybe it will be on a friday for the party.
Be back with updates...

Poker Night at the Cigar Lounge: Episode 3...
General | Posted 13 years agoContinuing from
anjimcdohl's story, here's Episode 3...
After two weeks of no poker, we have a surprising 8 people around the table. A much more boisterous group than usual, and many new faces.
Many new pigeons to pluck.
Chips have been flying around at a high rate, bets going high very often. I get my cards as usual.
Queen and Jack suited looking right back at me. Tasty hand. Player to my left, already low on chips, goes all in, costing 800 to see the flop. I call the bet, and there's a massive pile of chips on the table.
The flop: Queen, 7, Jack. Very nice, but I don't want to tip my hand just yet. 200 bet.
Calls all around, and I get raised to 600. Fold, fold, and back to me. I call.
Next card: Queen. I'm not even paying attention to the suits. I drop another 200. Same guy raises to 1000. Good. I counter-raise to 2000. The other players run to the hills. Guy who raised me stares at me for a minute. I smile. He says, you've gotta be bullshitting, and puts the rest of his chips on the table. I say "call", and before the dealer flips over the river, I stop him, and say, "just so you know, I just mauled your ass." Flip my pocket over, and the "awwwwww shit!"'s become a nice accompaniment to my very elegant victory bow. My full house kicked the hell out of the flush he was chasing.
Wait till next week fro Episode 4. ;3

What's your favorite cigar?
General | Posted 13 years agoI thought I'd ask everyone in the group what they usually go with on an occasional smoke. :3
Me?
I always go from Light to Medium to Dark.
Light: Most likely a Conneticut or Cameroon to start out.
My favorites so far...The Brigade from Carlos Torano. Great for the budget too. ;3
Medium: Most definetly a Corojo, Habano, or Sumatra. :9
My Favorites so far...The Edge Corojo from Rocky Patel, The CAIN F Habano from Oliva,
and The Edge Sumatra from Rocky Patel. :9
Dark: I usually go for something rich and sweet like a Conneticut Broadleaf, Sungrown, or Maduro.
My Favorites so far...12 Year Aged Rocky Patel Broad Leaf, Oliva Serie V Torpedo Sungrown, and
The Camacho Triple Maduro.
I go from Light-Medium-Dark so my palet doesn't get mixed up and flavored and it doesn't complicated
my taste with the uneven coating. x__x
But all aside, I'd like to hear what you guys go for and why. :3

The Future of our Cigar Blend in Sales. *Important Read*
General | Posted 13 years agoHey folks,
About a week ago in the coffee shop I got some more work done.
I gave our buddy
Scappo a buzz to see how he was progressing.
We talk about and the blend of the group came up to a point of talking business
standards.
The Cigar Blend itself:
Stephen like some of you know went a few years ago the The Rocky Patel
Factory in Honduras for a tour and blended his own blend of tobacco to be made
into a cigar adiquetly named The LEO7. He soon got the first shipment in and they flew
off the shelves of the shop here in town. Soon there began to become a big demend
fromt eh usual customers. Soon after I formed up the cigar group itself. The leading blend
for the group we agreed on would be The LEO7 itself. Upon the first Anthrocon '11 came to be,
I brought cigars to give away including some samples of the blend. The2nd Anthrocon, I brought
more of the blend in Conneticutt Churchills for people to try including Ciopinno's Bar and Grill
for the party and the owner to try. Christian would love to have us again in future Anthrocons to come
since he expanded the place as well. After most of the time spreading the word on the group and the blend
we got some attention. Now to the other phase...
Probelms in Distribution of the Blend:
Alot of people have requested to try the blend and wanted to know if they can purchase the blend.
There has been talk once in awhile between e and Stephen on the matter. Right now, it's still inconclusive on a decision.
There's alot and not so much of legal issues on distributing the blend to someone especially when they either live in different states or across to other countries. Taxes between us and others could mean some penalties and worse...jail time. The truth is the fact that I can only give me away at conventions to spread the word. Another thing is that the cigars have come from money out of my pocket...my fucking pocket. Money I saved up for such occassions was put into the cigars for the con, not mention the prizes as well, with the help from steven in discounts. I knew not everyone would join to whom I gave a stick, I'm fine with that. Just as long as they could enjoy a good smoke. That's what we do here. We give people a place to share their interest. The people however who joined, I thank you and hope you enjoy your stay. We try our best to entertain. ^_^ Once me and Scappo hit off on how there are ways to distribute the blend besides the cons, an idea popped up...
The Idea:
So right now, the only way to bring them in for people to try is the cons correct?
Well here's the deal. There are cigar shops near most of th econventions right?
This will give us an opportunity to spread the word to the local shops and the shop owners
on the con events where people will come to spend money for a good cigar and lounge.
Thanks to people in the group who are representatives for the groups at the con will do so
in order to psread the message. Here's the other part. This would would involve me and Steven to make
some calls across the country to the local shops near ever con center in the US. The main goal is to explain
to the owners on what we do for the cons and to convince them in picking up our bmend to sell and distribute not only for the cons, but for their future customers as well. That means more money for them with the interest in some of the profit going toward Steven as well. So in the future of cons there will be a cigar shop where you guys can buy a piece of what we have to offer. :D
But.......there's a bit of a problem...
The Problem:
After talking with Steven on the idea, there was one major issue.
HE agreed it was an interesting idea, but the main problem out of all of it
was that the supplies are limited in boxes he orders from the distributors in Honduras
to the US. I mean, he still has supplies, but they really go very fast within a month's worth here
in town from the local shop. The local customers still demand it. It would be much more of a budget to
order even more not only for the cons. But unfortunately in distributing for the cons, we'd have to convince the shop
keepers to carry them again. So right now, the problem is the supplies on cigars mainly.
All in all, this kind of thing will take some time to talk over with not only Steven in his busy schedule but the the owner as well for the time being.
When some news of the developments do come up, I will
make some announcements in the future.
TY all for the patience. <:3

Tiny Chat: Some Concerns and Changes. Farewell to a Friend.
General | Posted 13 years agoHello People,
As it turns out there's been some things going on with times of our Smoker's Lounge Tiny Chat and it's why I'm bringing this journal up.
First off, there needs to be some ground rules when it comes to our chats.
One thing that has been excessive has been showing YouTube videos that do not pertain to what the group is about like videos games, movies, and whatnot. Because of this one of my cigar members does not feel comfortable coming back to a tiny chat b/c there's a lack of talk and education on tobacco and other products of the tobacco industry. I will not name names, but if you are reading this, things will be fixed so we can not only keep things at a calm and relaxing level, but educate and let people learn about trying something new to try. I apologize for this.
Second: Some of our members of the Smoker's Elite are not able to make the Tiny Chats b/c of schedules and artwork they have to complete. It's understandable, and we continue to bring more people to them for support in love for tobacco. I will be working on newer promo images to attract more people to come in. If anyone still would looked to contribute any artwork for promos or advertisements for the group, we welcome it with open arms.
We want to try and make things on our Tiny Chats enjoyable and something that people can relax to while escaping the harshness of life. It's okay to have fun, but keep it to a minimum. Besides, word travels fast when good things are said. One thing is for sure, I have had a lot of complaints to bring this matter up. One thing is for sure, our Tiny Chats are not really that big b/c of where we are in the fandom b/c of the "Favoritism" card being played continuesly. Some people come on and stay for about almost a minute and immediately log off b/c either the fact that they find it too boring or the person they look forward to seeing on the chat is not there. *shrugs* Hell, I can't stop that. Still doesn't mean we can't make it better.
Farewell to a Friend:
As it turns out I recieved news from our Smoker Elite People,
vaelynfang, that he no longer be on Tiny Chats with us for maybe not awhile to the point of not again. I've brought this before in one of thus Tiny Chats awhile ago but everybody was able to know. As it turns out there were some incidents involved. Not naming names. The ending results of it all led up to him leaving the culture. He still considers himself an Anthro, but not a Furry. He still has a Passion for suiting for the benefit of the kids, but he has no more faith in the culture itself. I'm very sad that things did not resolve the way in what should be considered respectful, but I respect his decision and give him the best wishes and regards for the future with him. I suggest we all do the same. We still consider him a big part of our group.
Be well Bro, we will miss you. *hugs and salutes*
Well guys, that's prettymuch the updates for right now.
Hope you guys are well, and keep on puffing. ;3

Poker Game Night: Episode 2
General | Posted 13 years agoAnd we continue the story with
anjimcdohl
I'm sitting here, my stack of chips slowly dwindling. My nub of what was a Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur smoldering on the ashtray to my right. The table's crowded tonight, 9 people.
I take my last pull of the nub and get passed the deck.
Nine cards, and nine again. I set the deck down.
Blinds are called. There's a few new faces here. Ramon, Eric, and my good friend David. I look at my pocket. Two sixes stare back at me. I feel somewhat underwhelmed. Pot's good.
I burn and flop.
5, 10, 6. A really good flop for me. Bets go around, people fold. Interesting. I glance over my shoulder to the shelf I have my iPad sitting on, with the bag of cigars I bought earlier that day on top of the iPad. Maybe I should have another.
Fold, fold, bet, fold. Back to me, I call, and the next card.
Seven. The straight is clear on the table. Ramon, to my left, bets his black chip. Eric calls, and everyone else folds. Either Ramon is carrying the straight, and kicks my triples to the curb. Or he's bluffing, and I rule the school.
I drop my black chip in the pot. Burn and turn.
The river card is a 6. I have a 4 of a kind staring right back at me. Ramon presses it and throws another 3000 in the pot. I click my cigar cutter idly, watching him for a moment as Eric folds. I call the 3000.
He triumphantly flips up his straight, with the 8 and 9 in the pocket.
A smile spreads across my face as I make a small show of holding up my cards, before triumphantly flopping them down in between the two sixes. The table erupts in sounds of "Ohhhhhh shit!" and "Awwwww!" I scoop my chips and chuckle. "I think that hand calls for another cigar." I turn to my bag and pull out the Hoyo de Monterrey Dark Knight II and light up in victory.

Poker Game Night: Episode 1
General | Posted 13 years agoStory time again kiddies! :D
This time we have
anjimcdohl to tell us a poker game story. :3
The cigar lounge where I smoke, the Taino Cigar Lounge of La Casa Del Puro in El Paso, TX, has a weekly friendly Texas Hold 'Em game on Friday nights, which is why I miss the cigar chats. The crowd varies between 4 to 10 people, and we have a good night.
One night a few weeks ago, I was on the ropes, with $1400 in assorted chips, in addition to my black chip, at $5000. We deal up the cards. I peek, and see a pair of kings staring back. I light my second cigar of the evening, A Hoyo de Monterrey Dark Knight II, and call the blind. Here comes the flop.
7 - King - 7. I maintain my poker face and check. Another player bets 300. Fold, Fold, back to me. I call.
Next card: King. I've won the hand. Still stone-faced, I bet another 300. Another round of folds. Just me and David. He calls.
The river card: a nine. David, banking on the 7 in his pocket, drops his black chip. I smile, take a pull of my Dark Knight, and flip my chip in.
o.o....how suspensful...
Wait till next episode. D:
The reveal: David smirks and reveals his 7. I take another pull of the cigar, and reveal the lords in my pocket. The smirk vanishing from his face is priceless. I stand up, and before I scoop my new-found 'wealth', I say, "If you'll allow me a moment's liberty..." Fist pump. "BOOM." Scoop my chips and head off to the restroom.
This time we have
anjimcdohl to tell us a poker game story. :3The cigar lounge where I smoke, the Taino Cigar Lounge of La Casa Del Puro in El Paso, TX, has a weekly friendly Texas Hold 'Em game on Friday nights, which is why I miss the cigar chats.

Cigar Scalies??? O.o
General | Posted 13 years agoTrying a different approach with promos...
General | Posted 13 years agoHey guys,
As it turns out, I haven;t been doing much with the group other than Tiny Chats and a few words here and there. I've been pre-occupied with the fundrasier for
granitetail with commissions, my comic production, and some project images before they collect dust.
As far as the promos for the cigar group gos, I'm still in plans for doing them.
BUT, I thought of a different approach in doing them. I had a bit of an idea.
I thought about drawing 2 characters in the same image for a quicker sequnce in my schedule.
What I will say is that these will be in a image of sophistication and general imagery.
Nothing pornographic.
If anybody has any objection and would still like to be in just a single image,
just let me know.
That's all for now.
