At any rate,
campbellkid here with a couple updates.
First and foremost, thank you to any new watchers! It's always nice to have you guys around :3
Second, after this month, I'll be relinquishing control to
tig and 
captiandammit91 for the rest of the summer to an extremely busy schedule. It sucks, but it's what happens with life x3
Third, MAY MEET! This month's meet will be held on Saturday, May 28th. We'll be going to *gasp* Moe's, this time around, instead of boring ol' DQ lol the address for that is as follows:
2401 E. Empire St., Bloomington, IL, 61704.
Dinner will start at 7pm.
Bowling will take place at Pheasant Lanes, per usual, and will begin at 9pm. We'll migrate there after dinner, naturally. The address for that is as follows:

First! We will NOT have a meet for the month of April; I'm too busy with school, and the other two admins will be AWOL, so that means no go for this month.
As for the following months, we plan to hit all the summer months, skip September, and then finish out the year with a meet in October. So, I'll list that out for you guys:
Meets will occur on the last Saturday of the following months:
May, June, July, August, and October.*
*-pending unforeseen circumstances that could lead to cancellation.
Now, as most of you know, we're at a new venue...so our reputation is vital. So if you do attend, you are to be on best behavior. Whether we suit or not will be dependent on the attendance of the bowling alley; if there's a lot of people, if the alley is booked solid, then we won't suit. If not, if we have our own corner and a little separation, as we did at circle lanes, then suiting would, at the very least, be feasible.
I'm still talking to management (or at least trying to) about suits and such, and will let you guys know of anything that comes up.

Bowling will take place at Pheseant Lanes, located at 804 Hershey, Bloomington, IL; that will commence at 9pm (or whenever we feel like leaving DQ lol).
Other than that: I apologize again for the late updates; I may not be the busiest person on the face of the earth, but that doesn't mean I'm not still busy lol (or distracted...shush >.>") also, I may have to dip early...I can be there for dinner and a game or two of bowling, but that'll probably be it.

Cancelled meet! Please read!
Posted 9 years ago campbellkid here with, as you can see, bad news.This month's meet, albeit late (extremely late) notice, will be cancelled.
As for our reasoning behind this:
1. None of the admins will be there; one's moving into a new house, another will be in st louis, and I'll be with at a my buddy's going away party before he leaves for basic training.
2. The discounted bowling is gone; while this may not mean a whole lot to some, it does mean something to others (like me). I talked to the manager and I haven't gotten any word back on what he would be able to do for us, so I'll be going in again in a week to talk to him, and hopefully, see if we can't work something out.
Another thing that's been on my mind is that I don't think a meet every month will be viable anymore; bi-monthly seems like a better option with the way our attendance has been, and now that we probably won't even be able to suit at pheasant lanes...it just doesn't seem suitable. As for different options, I'll be talking with the other admins (as well as quasi, because he seems like a knowledgeable person lol) to see if we can't come up with other options, besides a bi-monthly meet; maybe a co-meet with another local group or something. I dunno; we'll figure it out.
I'm really sorry for the lack of a better notice, guys. Trust me, this shit hurts me too. And you guys that were planning on coming up, if you still want to go to dinner and then bowling, you're more than welcome to; I don't want this to stop any plans you guys made! It's just not going to be an official meet, and there's not goin to be any admins there, so...anything you guys destroy, it's on you lol
At any rate, I'm sorry again, guys. We'll put our hard hats together and we'll come up with something, though. I promise.

FIRST: seeing how Pheasant Lanes is the only bowling alley left in town, it's always going to be packed during the evening, Saturday's included. With that being said, sadly, suits are probably going to be a no-go (what that means for tails and ears, I'm not sure. I guess I'll leave that up to you and I'll discuss it among others, so leave a comment with input on this).
SECOND: with the new renovations to Pheasant Lanes, they've gotten rid of the cosmic bowling special (the $13 dollar, shoes and unlimited bowling special that we were essentially there for). Now, I talked to David (manager) and he said he'd get back to me with what could possibly work for us, but if there can't be a deal for us, well then, I'll also discuss that with the other admins and you guys as well, to see how you guys feel about that. David mentioned that their specials might return in the summer, so that's also something.
Other than that, I'll post the regular meet info:

campbellkid here, and now since I'm recovered from MFF...and karaoke night...and New Year's...I can finally post a journal (albeit WAY overdue >.>), Yaaayyy!
FIRST, lemme just take a moment to thank you lovely new watchers; it's always nice to see the page get some more recognition, and hopefully our monthly attendance will grow! That'd be really nice x3
Second, our next meet! It will be held on Saturday, January 30th. We will be going to Dairy Queen, located at 411 N Veterans Parkway, Bloomington, IL. We will start dinner at 7pm, and, per usual, no suits (heads, tails, paws, etc).
At 9pm, we will move to Pheasant Lanes, which is located at 804 N Hershey, Bloomington, IL. And per my deal with the guy who runs the place, we will not wear suits to this meet, either. (We'll begin suiting in February, will continue and March, and after March, I'll be meeting with the manager, as well as talking to you guys, to see how everyone likes the place so far). Since it's cosmic bowling, it will be $13 for shoes and unlimited bowling until midnight. This is about 80 some odd cents more expensive than our deal at Circle Lanes (so, essentially, the same price lol).
With all that being said, I'm looking forward to being more active and getting more people here! When it gets warmer out, hopefully we can start playing mini-golf outside of pheasant lanes. That'd be fun! Maybe a summer meet at Grady's without suits...or with suits, who knows!

School's been busy, and we're still trying to figure out a new place for bowling...so this month will be a dry run at Pheasant Lanes. It's not too far from the old place, and it's a nice replacement for Circle. Hell, they even have mini golf!
Still, like I said, it's gonna be a dry run. So that means no suits, tails, badges, etc. Dress how you normally would, we'll eat dinner at the DQ, and then go bowl and see how we like it.

Lil update on things

The admins are still working on a backup plan for meets and such...we have a lead on a nearby bowling alley, but we haven't secured it yet. So in the meantime, I'm sorry to say, but the meet for this month has been cancelled. Hopefully, if we can get that place locked down for us sometime soon, we'll be back up and running by September, but until then, we got nothin'. :/
Don't worry, y'all, we'll get shit figured out soon! Chin up, people! :3

Alright, first thing's first, it's an on time update, I understand ;) This weather hs kicked my ass and sapped the energy that I had. BUT, I'm still recharging and not quite ready to go.
So anyway, what we're gonna be doing this month is, since it's warmer out, the admins and I agreed that we will go back to Dairy Queen, Cuz who doesn't love ice cream? <3 NO SUITS, including tails, paws, ears, etc. Badges are fine, however.
That (dinner) will be at 6:30pm. At around 8-8:30pm, we will be heading to our favorite bowling alley where we can bowl, and there, suits and such can be worn (yayy!). And after that, we'll call it a night :3
Bowling lasts till 11 instead of midnight, some crap about "summer hours". Pfft.

Even though I had plans in Greenville and couldn't make it, I could've made sure we had an admin there or, at the very least, could've put someone officially in charge of it. So I dropped the ball on that one. It won't happen again.
I will make sure updates come out, at the very least, 2 weeks prior to the date of the meet. I will try and change up dining venues at least every 2 meets. The bowling alley loves us, but I'm sure we can do more than just bowl. The zoo might be an option...Grady's might be an option, but they probably wouldn't allow suits, and it can get a little pricey. Any suggestions?
Also, here is a list of the closest conventions to the state of Illinois, in order from furthest to closest
Some of you may be thinking of going to a couple of furry conventions this year but you're not sure which ones,
or what your options are, so as a public service to the CILFCO community, I have compiled this list, which I'm
fairly sure is everything within 500 miles (but if you know of any I missed, I'd be interested in hearing about

A couple of these are iffy as far as whether they qualify as conventions. One of these happens to be the

Coming in at #10 is a con that's only been around a couple of years, taking place in the other twin cities.

Now, Pizza Ranch is literally right down the road from the bowling alley...I could walk there in five minutes!
"But soup, two of your stride's equals a quarter of a mile!" That's neither here nor there!
But, at any rate, here's the address for pizza ranch:

Late notice, yes, but after seeing how bad the roads were getting after dinner, we decided it'd be for the best.

We've decided that the February meet is a go, and are highly anticipating a great turnout (pending the weather isn't shit xD)
And we've listened to your request and will be heading to Moe's for dinner! Here's the address for anyone using a GPS (including myself lol):

Dinner will start at 6pm (that's when I'll get there) and will go until 7:45-8pm. At which point, we will convoy to our next destination, which will be Circle Lanes. The address for that is as follows:

Bowling will most likely end at Midnight, for those staying the entire time.
This meet is being held on Saturday, February 28th.

WITH ALL THAT BEING SAID, I am EXTREMELY looking forward to this meet, and hoping for an even better turnout than last. Last month had a great showing, and we all would love to build on that.

Anywho, this meet was a HUGE success, weather be damned! For our first meet in more than a year, we had a solid turnout, dinner was awesome, and bowling was even better! And from the reaction of one of the workers at the bowling alley, we were definitely missed. Whew, feels good to be back :3
Anywho, I just wanted to say thank you to all who showed up! I loved the enthusiam, I loved the turnout, and you all are great!

Posted 10 years agoWe are still a go, weather be damned. The official government weather control website says it's not really supposed to start snowing till later in night, so we should be good.
We have three reserved lanes for 8pm.
The room that we had to change in is still unavailable they said, so if you have a suit there isn't a designated changing room.
Pricing for bowling is as follows-
$2 shoe rental
$12.19 for unlimited bowling or $3.89 a game.

Anywho, for all those planning on going to the Steak n Shake (save your grief lol) off veterans for dinner before the upcoming meet, which is at 6pm, I need a note from you, or a comment on this journal, saying that you're going. That's all I need lol
I'd like to have a solid head count, that way, I can go in and make a reservation (at the very least), instead of us all (unless it's only 4 or 5 of us) just strolling in and demanding open space (not necessarily demanding, but you get my drift). I'm pretty sure we'd be able to find seats, but in the event that Steak n Shake is packed that night, it'd just be nice to have spots reserved :3
