Posted 15 years agoWow, what an amazing six days it has been. :p I wanted to say a week, but it hasn't even been a week yet. XD
I honestly don't know where to begin...
and I managed to get to MFF early Saturday morning. I was worried we would get there just before the fursuit parade at 1 p.m. but we wound up getting to the hotel by 10 a.m. ^.^ The parade was fun, but I was way too self conscious about how I looked in suit. XD Though I'm trying to not get down on myself since it was my first furry con with a suit. XD
After the parade I bump into
and 
in the headless lounge and we decide to go to the photo shoot since it was the last session they would be doing all weekend. Little did I know how important that decision would wind up being.
The line for the photo shoot was a little long but we grabbed a spot and started our wait. Just by chance I happen to sit next to and we started chatting. The time flew by as we talked and it didn't take me long to figure out I kind of liked him and that I wanted to hang out with him some more. He told me about the Open Mic panel he was hosting at five and I told him I'd be there, knowing that was my chance.
I sat down at the back of the room since I was a little late and watched Alex host the meet. It was fun to watch, I'd say it was a typical open mic session, though I've never been to an open mic session before so... idk. :p Afterwards, I walked up to him and we started chatting again, as well as going over to talk with one of the performers.
At this point, I was getting excited. Here was this talented, cute, sweet guy that, as far as I could tell, was into me as much as I was into him, and that's never happened before in my life. I've met plenty of people and made acquaintances or even friends with them, but no one has ever shown the slightest interest in me like he did. And the best part of it was that he was interested in me... for me. Not for some fake front or persona I made up on the internet. Not for some faux fur suit that I wear around acting the complete opposite of what I normally do. But for me, and all the flaws that I come with. ^.^
Things took a turn for the worse at this point... we made the mistake of simply deciding to meet up for the dance... We didn't set a time or a place, and we didn't exchange room or telephone numbers. Just a simple "I'll see ya on the dance floor." BIG MISTAKE. The details don't really matter, but I never see him again that night. All in all I spend the next four hours freaking out and kicking myself for not being more specific or as I saw it, missing my chance with the first guy I've ever really liked.
I didn't get a lot of sleep, and I spent the next morning brooding over everything that happened the night before. Itsu and I planned on leaving after closing ceremonies, but we also discussed staying for one more night as well. I told him that unless I found Alex I didn't want to waste the money on another night. Since check out was at noon and Up to that point I hadn't seen Alex since 6 p.m. the previous night, we packed up our stuff and loaded up my car, ready to leave in a few hours.
The good news is I ran into him around 1 p.m. We decided to catch lunch/breakfast together and spent the next couple of hours dining and chatting along with a friend of his. Afterwards we get each other's phone number and he goes upstairs to work on homework, both of us agreeing to meet up for closing ceremonies.
I spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around with mixed emotions. Glad I was able to run into Alex again, but also sad as I knew I was leaving in an hour and didn't know where that would leave us. The one thing I did know was that I screwed up by packing up on Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon is probably one of the biggest social times for fursuiters to just wander around, and I saw I was missing all kinds of fun. Knowing this was my last chance to suit for a while I decided to hop into
one last time. ^.^ Now keep in mind, I had to do this in the back of my car, in the 40 degree parking garage, since I had checked out of my hotel room a few hours earlier. Luckily I am pretty flexible. XD :p I make it back in side with my suit on just in time for closing ceremonies and Itsu helps me spot Alex, who also happens to be in suit. ^.^
I sit next to him and we wind up cuddling for the whole ceremony. Its amazing how much easier it is to express yourself while in suit. As much as we were sitting out in public in our suits, we may as well have been the only ones in the room. That hour was magical even though all we did was hold each other and cuddle. ^.^ Afterwards, neither of us wanted to get up so we just stayed there.
I could go on and on about what happened, but his journal is already far too long. I decided to stay another night and Alex and I spent the rest of it together, both in and out of suit. Many a party was crashed. ^.^
The next day, I meet him out by his shuttle to the airport and we hugged, not wanting to part ways. It was an incredibly special moment and weekend, one that I will never forget.
We spent the next couple of days talking online and decided that despite how fast this all was happening and the fact that we live so far away, that we would try to make it work. It won't be easy but we are guaranteed to fail if we don't try.
SO, very long story short, I just wanted to introduce you to my mate and let you know just how I met him at MFF this weekend. <3 X3

Posted 16 years agoSecond day of school... Assignment wasn't finished this morning, had to scramble to get it done. Barely did. Also, I almost missed the bus. XD

Back in my Element
Posted 16 years agoI'm shocked! I really don't think my day could have gone any better at school, previous scrambling withstanding. :3 I had a great time, got everything done that I need to, and still made it back home and to work on time.
As soon as I stepped on campus, its like I went into autopilot. Its as if I never left school all those years ago. Except now I'm older and wiser. Here's hoping that is the edge I need to finish what I started.
I like my professor so far. She was probably more nervous than I was, and it was her second class of the day. XD This is a good thing too, as I've always done MUCH better in my English/Writing courses if I work well with my teacher.
Since this is a writing class, we are separated into groups of four. The two other guys in my group are typical freshman. They nearly passed out, due to boredom in the first five minutes of the syllabus. The other was a nicely dressed girl, who seemed slightly older (maybe 20'ish, rather than 18). Not sure though, with the seating arrangement, I was looking in the opposite direction, towards the front of the room. Needless to say, I think I'm going to be relying on her for a lot of my peer editing.
Anyways, sorry for the randomness of this post. I'm trying to save all my writing skills for my assignments. XD Just going to use this as a blog/thought dump... So if you don't care to read that kind of stuff, feel free to nuke my non-furry journal titles for the next few months. :p
I hope everyone else had as good of luck in their classes as I have, so far. *Raises his drink* Here's to a successful semester!

Scrambling
Posted 16 years agoSo I was getting excited about going back to school, Tuesday,for the first time in eight years, when my phone beeped last night. It said I had to go to class in 10 hours.... Bull shit!
I hop on CC's web site, and sure enough, I signed up for the Mon/Wed class, not the Tu/Th one I thought I did. XD
I had no idea where my class was, what books I needed, and only a vague idea on how I was going to get there. After all, parking at GRCC was a bitch 10 years ago, I doubt it got any better since then.
The good news is I know where I'm going now, what book I need, and I know when and where the bus stops. But it was a mad scramble the last couple of hours I've been awake. >.>
I'm on the bus, heading downtown right now. Here's hoping I can get my student ID, book, and more bus passes before class starts.

Well the holiday season is here, and with it came winter in full force. At least I have a new stress relief mechanism... furmeets!
I had a great time meeting InfinityFire, Kazer, Star, and Errorwolf last weekend. Nothing like a Saturday filled with fursuit laser tag and photos with Santa. :3
This weekend I'm heading back to the east side of the state to meet a bunch more people from the Mi Fur forums. As well as catching up with Slayer again.
THEN the big weekend hits. I'm hosting my first furmeet locally. Expecting around 15 people to show up for opening night of Avatar. Yay! We get to watch one of the most expensive movies ever made bomb in 3D! XD This should be epic! All 2.7 hours of it...
The very next day is Gir and Nick's next Ann Arbor meet, so.. that's practically mandatory in Michigan, considering I missed their last one a few months ago. I hope to get a chance to meet them as well.
So, despite all the craziness of holiday shopping, family time, work, and the weather... I'm throwing in a heavy does of furryness each weekend. :3
