I don't think I'm very good at tutorials. I don't know if this is of ANY use. But I wanted to thank my subscribers for their lovely recent comments and support even though I was very inactive, so I finally did this.


I wanted to make a tutorial since forever, and never did it, because there is no point in me exposing dangerous half-knowledge on you when there's so much good stuff around.

But I thought I could share some general Tips and "Tricks" that I discovered over time through many many painful errors.

First I wanted to make this just text, but then I realised I had all the embarrassing, horrible beginner's art that I needed to illustrate my point right in my own Gallery. Cringe your way down memory lane so you won't have to redraw the horrors of my past! ;)


I used only my old stuff to keep a more or less consistent and comparable skill level. I hope it helps to illustrate the points. Don't laugh at my shitty old drawings! ;)

I just realized yesterday that it is gay pride week! I've had a good day with the parades today and it was great fun, but in light of all the gay-marriage-debate of the past months I'd like to do one more give-away thing for you guys! This will be absolutely sexually discriminating, I am aware of it, but it's just the theme of the week ;) sorry!

So, calling out to all gay couples out there, girls or guys alike:

If you're in a gay relationship right now I'm offering to draw you and your loved one! Think of it like a Valentine's commission, just for Pride. This one's not about sex and porn, it's really more a couple picture.
To enter just comment in the journal with the refs of you and your special person and one sentence on why I should draw you, and I will pick one entry on Wednesday the 29th and draw you a picture!
The whole thing is for free, you can tip if you want but it's no necessity at all to take part and don't feel obliged out of politeness, you don't need to hint it in your entry either (please don't) - just the refs and a reason is all you need to comment with to take part!

So, if you have a loved one or if you know a couple that would be up for it, go ahead, spread the word (please only one entry per couple, just to keep things clearer and easier for me, thanks :) )

I am really far too fond of capital headlines for my journals..


I've worked hard and am still working hard to get your presents done guys! To avoid a massive art flood I will post them in pairs of about 4 in the coming days, so be patient.

About the pictures: To handle the capacity of requests I set myself some rules for this. I didn't have a strict time limitation for pictures because I don't like feeling rushed (every picture took about 15 to 20 minutes in total though). Instead, the rule was: no redraws. I was allowed one sketch to set the pose, and from then on in everything had to stay as it was, no endless correcting. So some things look very broken and wrong, but that will ahve to be part of the fun!

Again, I want to thank everyone for putting in their refs, I had fun and I hope you will like your pictures. Also, once more, big thank you to everyone submitting sentences without asking for pictures, I will get to you ;)

From now onwards I might not do any more of these, so if you post your requests they might not get done.. Thank you for understanding.

I've been in this community for quite a while and I've had a lot of wonderful people commission me. FA has been an incredible environment to start doing art related business with people. When I had NO idea how these things work I had patient, appreciating and friendly customers that really helped me develop.
FA was also the first time I displayed any art in public and having such an overwhelming positive feedback was an incredible experience for me.

Right now I have 2689 watchers - such a weird feeling! And I owe you guys, because you have really helped me develop and enabled me to have experiences that have helped me a lot and will continue to help me a lot in my career. And that's why I want to give a huge huge THANK YOU to all my watchers, everyone who stumbled over my page and took the time for shouts, messages, comments, favourites, or even just browsing through!

A lot of other artists do all these Thank-you-for-1000-watches pictures, but I never really checked my numbers so I always missed the nice round ones where these pictures seem fitting. What can I say, I'm awful at timing, but to be honest I'm not sure such a picture could express how much all this support means to me.

So instead we will do this: My free art give-away.
I have never done anything like this so I have no idea what will happen and I'm a little worried that I will fail miserably, but we are totally going to try this!

The idea is that in the comment section of this journal you post a description, or a ref picture, or both, of your character (or a friend's! Anything as long as you have permission to use it) If you want to you can also add some character description or a preferred mood, though there is no guarantee how much I will take on board.

[Please note: This is not commissioning me! I will take a lot of artistic freedom with these. If you do not like your character being - maybe - altered a little or if you have a very specific scenario and you'd be disappointed to not get exactly that, or you want to check the result up front - This is not the thing for you! Send me a message to enquire about a commission rather than posting stuff in the comments. This is really just for fun (hopefully for everyone involved) and I don't even make any promises about style or quality. A lot of it will just be sketches!)]

Think of this as a big pile of art requests. I don't know how many I'll do and which ones I'll take on, but I can't guarantee I'll get everyone done. I have no idea how many responses I will get and I have no idea how much I will enjoy this, I don't know how much time I will need, how much time I will have, so please don't be disappointed if I end up not drawing your picture. There is no guarantee!
And because I don't want it to feel just like a long commission list, but more like me giving out presents to specific people - my awesome watchers - there is another little extra! You will have to do some work here ;)

I was doodling around and realized I wasn't going to finish the thing I drew. And then I realized some of you, especially those practicing their drawing skills, might be interested in it. It's not a real thought-through tutorial, more of on-the-spot things that came to my mind. Hello dear furries1

This is a huge apology to all my watchers, especially those who asked about commissions within the last 3 months or so! Hope you read this :)

I know I am not updating, I'm not even really checking my PMs and I am certainly not getting any further on that commission business. Long story super short: life! I'm not sure how much I should put in here because we all know lazy stupid drawy people will always do this "heeey my lovely watchers I promise I will post 5 times a week and draw all my commissions super on time" and that are their last words for the next 3 years, so I'm trying not even to go there ;)

I just want to say thank you, super super super big thank you, to everyone who watches or comments and takes the time to read this. Your support does mean a lot to me, especially in a time when I feel like furry art doesn't really fit into my life as such. I want to focus on expanding my range, so that I don't have to walk to job interviews showing them hairy fetish stuff but just a nice portfolio ;) It's hard to balance the two things out, so instead I try to go with whatever I really feel like drawing right now. I'm in a very uncreative hole right now anyway, but I can force myself to do my work, so it's okay. But right now it's hard to face commission runs, and I'd rather not take them if I'm unsure if or how fast I can deliver.

But, enough of the ramble, this is a huge huge thank you to all of you, for having my back and not going crazy neglected-guilt-tripping on me yet :) I wanted to add a little present of some sorts to this, and searched and thought about it a lot, but I didn't find anything appropriate yet and was tired of procrastinating it until I find the perfect thing. Basically.. Are you guys all 1000% furry? Are you only looking at furry art online? And are you all just looking at the sexy stuff or also tame things? Any human or general more fantasy related stuff?

I am not feeling particularly furry recently (don't worry, it comes and goes) and I am far more interested in other areas and styles right now. Also maybe a world beyond pin-ups and erotica. Heavens! So what about you, you busy watchers? What are you up to if you are not creepily digging through the porn piles in furry galleries? Are you interested in what artists do in their furry-free time? And how do you feel about artists posting non furry stuff on FA? (I probably don't intend to do that. It's a furry site for a reason. But is it just me that is so fussy about this?)

First of all and shortly: Hello Happy People! I made it back alive and Europe is a nice place to travel through and especially Barcelona said to pass its love on to all of you. So much for the nice bit.

Now the problem: I drew a commission for someone, and that someone refuses to pay. Not in a "I'm not going to pay you, bitch!" sort of way, but more in the "I will just not answer anything you say anymore" way. I drew the picture. It was a big commission, and I spent a lot of time on it in total. I was, in my opinion, more than welcoming with the price, went actually a bit lower than usual, which I really regret now. I was also okay with major delays from the commissioners side due to some personal problems that I have no idea about, but they basically stopped the process half way through mentioning personal issues and they would get back to me. They didn't, really, and after a while I picked it up again - after all I had already worked on it a fair bit by then, and I offered either to pick it up or to pay for the amount of work already done. They said to pick it back up. They haggled over the price, and I made a new offer (great, I know.) It was the usual back and forth I have with all my customers up until the final preview to show that the work was done. They said they would pay me now. No payment. They said something got in the way, but they will pay me now. No payment. And now they don't say anything anymore, despite several attempts to get in contact with them, and I have, suprisingly, no payment.

This commission has been nothing but trouble, and I feel really aweful about it. I do not really want to make this a public issue and drag it out, but I honestly don't know what else to do. I realise I have no security in this, that I have no binding legal contract with any of my customers to pay me, but I honestly believed that it would not really be a problem. Yes, I know that is to some extend naive and that at the end of the day there is nothing to be done about it, but I refuse to just accept it like that either. The only way that I can put pressure on them is to publicly denounce them in front of the community, and I honestly don't want to go into all that drama stuff, but I am right now not sure what else to do, and after massive delays on their account I am now officially fed up with waiting.
So, people.. honestly, what would you do?

And dear commissioner: I realise that sometimes things don't go as planned and real life gets in the way. But I have been more than patient, and I have had a lot of hassle with this. I've done my part, I've drawn the picture, I've done all extra wishes and even made an offer that was to my disadvantage. So please. Just pay me the money and we're done with it. Thanks

It is summer, and that calls for another big roadtrip adventure, this time following the question of how Europe will feel without it's currency by trying to travel without any money! We'll see how that goes

I am just here for one evening before hopping right off into busy-mode again, so I will just explain the rules to you and then you are more or less on your own with this, but I'm sure you will love it.

The aim of the game: GET A PICTURE DRAWN BY ME. Your prize options are:

FIRST PRIZE
- a full body picture with colouring and shading (no background) OR
- a two character sketch with colouring and shading (no background [sketch means a slightly messier lineart]) OR
- a badge/icon

SECOND AND THIRD PRIZE
- a full body sketch of one or two characters (no colours, no background, just black lines and good times!)

The duration of the game: It starts NOW. Prize delivery will be end of August / Beginning of september

How to play: If you are interested in winning one of those prize options for you or a friend, here's what you have to do: Go to the journal I will link at the bottom and read it. Donate some money (an amount that you can choose freely) NEXT WEEK I will ask my friend for a name of one of the donators and the person he picks will win the prize. (make sure to include your participation in my game into a note to your donation, so you won't just donate without getting anything back, that would be aweful!)

I will take 5 slots at a time, and see how that goes. If I take more the pile of work gets so daunting that I will start putting it off, so bear with me ;) I hope to open for another 5 though straight away once I'm through these.

I lowered the prices (mostly because the most of my commissioners are canadian and the currency exchange makes the prices go completely ridiculous.. ;) sorry I put you through this before people x) so this is some sort of Christmas bargain and I want to produce more commissions quicker!
The quality will be that of my most recent uploads. I will pay a little less attention to tidy inking as this step was always the most tedious - again, quality will be like my recent uploads. Same goes for shading style.



So much for the formalities, now I'd be happy to fill my first five slots with people and supply the art as soon as possible :D Christmas is coming up, so get some presents for you, for your friends, for people who don't know you're furry yet, or some disturbing animal-rape scenes for that guy at work who pissed you off the entire last year!


Prices go from 10 GBP for sketches to 30 GBP for a full coloured and shaded single character picture!
Backgrounds cost extra, 5 to 10 GBP (buildings, rooms and vehicles are more, landscape and nature scenes less), another character adds 5-10 GBP to the price - UNLESS it is a micro/macro picture - no charge for adding in tiny characters!

Also, no extra fee for adult or complexity (apart from backgrounds)

One last thing: The she-wolf is part of this too! Right now there is no fixed rule about when I use my character or not, I will decide for each request. Tell me what you had in mind and I will see if I'd be comfortable with this - sexual themes are less likely to be picked than original or cute ideas.
Basically: I will decline if I feel that the situation you want to put her in will go against who she is as a character and what I want her to be. I hope you can respect that :)

OH MY GOD, why did nobody say that animation is such hard work? I mean, apart from it being obvious and a matter of common sense - HOW COULD I HAVE SEEN THIS COMING?

So yes, I'm getting set up and started and I'm enjoying things lots, but unfortunately my personal drawings - even though there are some in planning which I hope you will all like - have come to an absolute stop, and I even struggle with these two sneaky commissions I accepted when I really shouldn't have ;) Oh well.

I hope you're all being as creative and productive, things here go wonderfully well, the only bad thing being that a day only has 24 hours (when they invented that they should have seen the flaw in it, really). I'll try to upload at least something (maybe I'll upload some lineart previews for people to colour in while I'm not having the time for that) just for the thought of it. Maybe.

I'm finally back, after my long long summer, which is more like a very depressing autumn right now, but as we all know, summer is in your head and not necessarily the weather.
