The previous batch of commissions has been finished! I’m now starting YCHs, which SHOULD be done sometime in July. That thing I hinted to will be opening up as soon as these are taken care of, and after that I’m going to try and see if I can take SOMETHING in August. It might just be caption comms or a small amount of commissions, I want to make sure that I’m open and ready for September. Thank you for your understanding!

I want to prelim this by saying thank you to everyone that showed interest in the Sinister Phage YCHs. You've not only helped me get some payments in for the next two or three months but allowed me to get some nice things for myself that I've been wanting for a while, and that's given me some room to breathe. I'm more than eager to return the favor for you all with some extremely hot as hell work. For anyone that didn't get in, more opportunities near. I want to try and get in some more commissions before the end of August, and of course, the second batch of YCHs will be announced sometime around then... along with the shorts, of course. So, you know. You'll still get a chance to behold your fate within the Kingfisher Palazzo.

As to what's currently on my plate, I have two commissions left that I still need to get through, one of which I'm going to be attempting to finish this week. I intend to get started on these YCHs and have at least one of them done before June starts. I've put off overloading my plate with more work until these are all finished... though I will be teasing another opportunity to get a YCH from me in the coming month to be readied as soon as I'm done with this. Something earth-shaking, you might say. :3c

I'm happy to report that I'm now finished with Hypnovember and am moving to edit these stories! I want to make sure that this time I've got a clear order for them, so I'll be focusing on getting the first seven days taken care of before I start posting. As always, I feel like I'm learning more and more every time I do these events. :3

With a new year comes new opportunities, new things to try, and accordingly I'd like to take a swing at trying out a writing YCH for the first time! This'll be going up tomorrow or Friday and running for a full week with a starting bid of $50 USD. So you may have noticed I haven't posted any of the stories up yet! That's because I've still got to edit a good chunk of them, I wanna drop them in one big package. I'm thinking halfsies? Fifteen first off, and then fifteen later.

Speaking of, I've officially passed the halfway marker on these! Fifteen stories are done, eight of which are edited and ready to go whenever. I don't think I'll be finishing these in December due to my need to finally give myself a break, but I'd like to shoot for completing them in January! It's a lot of different things slowing me down at the moment, but I'm trucking along the best I can.

The forest is silent once again.

The Jack-o-lanterns are rotting. The decorations get put away. Ghosts go to their rest, zombies rot on their graves, werewolves take on their old flesh. The chill from beyond gradually settles into the bone. In the winter, the Black Cat’s Path snows over, slush and powder collecting there, shutting it off. Anything in there stays as it is.

Well, it’s done. It might be done a little bit late, but honestly, I celebrate Halloween into November as well, so I don’t have a problem with how long it took to get this done.

Black Cat’s Path. I actually quite enjoyed doing this! People brought some fucking fantastic ideas to the field and really got into the prompts I provided in a way that I super appreciated. It was REALLY fun writing these. You all really showed your appreciation of these in a way that I enjoyed, too.

This was an EXTREMELY successful event for me, one that I think I would absolutely like to do again in the future. Expect us to start even earlier next year, I’ve already got a theme in mind and will continue to be playing around with new ideas in the future. I’ll be potentially taking a test run of a YCH in December or January to see how I feel about doing those.

Between this and Hypnovember, opening up for multiple slots has meant a bit more micromanagement of the form, but definitely also seems to be giving you all a chance to really jump in and get more if you have a surfeit of fun ideas! I think that this event helped me crystallize some thoughts on how to provide my work. For one, three pages (ostensibly…) seems to be a good marker for the length of these in a way that allows me to tangibly provide people shorts without going over. I may futz around with the price in the future in order to match price shifts for my long-forms, but for right now $35 feels pretty fuckin’ good.

You may have noticed that things came in spurts, especially on the last day. The reason for this? Edits. I had a hell of a time pulling off edits on this one, mainly coming down to me finding the time for it. The treadmill of getting stories done didn’t start speeding up until October, really, giving me some time to go back and focus on getting those stories together that I did in September. I’m hoping to be able to figure out the balance on those in a way that feels right.

I’ll be taking a long weekend now to recuperate, my body told me on Wednesday that I absolutely have to rest as I physically crashed on that day. Hypnovember commissions will start being drafted on Monday and sent out while the final BCP stories will be posted today and Monday.

Hey, y'all, just giving you a heads up on the status of things at the moment. Black Cat's Path is proceeding apace, I got a bit lost in the sauce on one of them because I fell in love with the writing I was doing, but currently I'm on track to get that posted up either today or tomorrow along with Days 4 and 5 (and potentially 6?). It's no secret that I ranged forwards a bit during September and got the majority done. My current plan is to open up for Hypnovember while I'm getting these finished (and yes, with how I've been managing myself mentally and physically, I think I'm engaged for the go-ahead on that).

I wanted to check in with you all, though. I've been enjoying the short commissions because they've been allowing me to get with a range of you all and get some stuff out, and they're also INCREDIBLY helpful in terms of my finances. How do you all feel about the shorties, though? Are you enjoying commissioning and reading them? How about in comparison to the more free-form commission slots?

The winds start to get colder... the branches start to get increasingly bare. The festivities of the season start to be set up, all near that wood, all welcoming, beckoning in their own way... and you'll be fine if you stay to them.

Some of you aren't, though. We're going to see what happens when you break those barriers.

So, we’ve done it, we’ve reached the end of this little Hypnovember Redux event that I’ve put together… technically speaking. Day 27 will be going up at a later date due to unforeseen circumstances, but it’s not too much of a problem! Once again, I’d like to thank  fauxpawe who I would not have been able to put this on without, as they supplied the prompts I used during this. I’d also like to thank everyone that posted on, boosted, and commissioned me during this time. You helped support me and prep for the second half of the year, and for that I’m very grateful. You also made this fun as hell, which is appreciated!

We learned some things this second time around doing a big drive. You’ll notice that I didn’t ever post a two page story during any of these days. The reason for this ranges from me being too fucking horny to stop writing, trying to fit everything that I’ve been asked into a story, or just plain deciding that I could add a bit more to a piece. While I did lose a bit of momentum because of this, I think it’s definitely workable in the long run. Down those lines, I’m most likely going to be trying upping the page count on these when I go in for the normal-ass Hypnovember, since apparently I can hit three pages as my minimum. Prices will also be going up on these, but not too much, it’d be what you’d expect with like five dollars on top?

We’re also going to be doing these with some advance notice like this time. I actually ended up feeling like a fucking badass by the end of these this time as opposed to last time where I basically barely survived this and took most of December off to recuperate. Starting early’s definitely the way to go with these, I’ve ended up with energy left in the tank and it feels good! I’ve also developed some strategies for taking care of myself that feel like they’ve worked a lot better for me that I’ll be using from now on and also porting to when I do weeks of shorties and other commissions, so thank you all for that!

As to where I ended up going on vacation at the start of this month… I ended up going with  genshinin to Megaplex! Second year visiting, and second year doing a furcon in general, and… whooooof, talk about an amazing time? I think I legit got a hang on my anxiety in a way that’s legit been transformative thanks to some advice I got from one of the panels, a story clicked together even further for me while I was there, I was just inspired… God, I always feel like I get a chance to unlearn bad behavior when I go to these and become a legitimately better person. Got to dress how I wanted, too, that’s always nice. There’s just something about a good skirt, you know?

I managed to dodge it for a good while, and I think that helped me, but I got hit with Covid that ended up showing its face by the end of that Monday in the form of shivers and a runny nose that turned into a wooziness that left me having trouble standing on Tuesday. By the end of that day, though, I was already recovering, and have been since. I’ve been doing my best not to push myself, and have accordingly kept myself from any work beyond edits. It’s mostly been a bunch of sleeping and laying around on my ass, really!

In other news, cards on the table, got some big upcoming events to pay for. I’ve got a trip to a Halloween event I hit up multiple times annually, and loans are a constant issue. Accordingly, for August, and with the fact that I’m still recovering from Covid in mind, I’m going to be trying something a little new. The normal commission form is going up with a little bit of a change to the format. I will be leaving it open until the end of August this time, that’s right, completely open. This is not going to be first come first serve though, as I intend to put my whole pussycat into this and apply the lessons learned during Hypnovember to see how much work I can get done. Essentially, the August form will be something I return to as a running list of potential commissions that I take up depending on what suits me best. Feel free to submit multiple ideas if you have them! I’m not saying I’ll do all of them, but depending on what I get and how well I do I might end up going through quite a few of them. This is body permitting, of course, I’ve been noticing a bit of wooziness while editing but it’s been increasingly fading as I keep resting up. So, essentially, I think I'll be starting these on the 22nd or 23rd!

So, I'm making an executive decision on the matter of finishing Hypnovember Redux that I should both close things out strong and in the right way. I'm actually heading out today (well, in like a few hours) on a trip that'll keep me from being able to upload to FA for a week and change, so instead of rushing to get things done and basically farting out at the end, I'm keeping to my previous decision to end like a badass. One of these stories is basically ready to go after I give it some more love, the other I'm not going to rush through. Both will be going up in early August.

Hey everyone, I slept in REALLY fucking late today, so I wasn't really able to give a status update for a while now.

I wanted to say that slots have tentatively been filled as of this morning, so I'm closing the form now. Your support this month has been really fucking appreciated and I'm looking forwards to writing these. I've already got about a fifth of them finished and am continuing work on them as I write this. <3
