Hey guys - i just went and saw jurassic world last night and I've been doodling dinosaurs all day If anyone is interested i was considering opening discounted commission slots of some dinosaur characters, 12$ for a full body with basic shading and a feral form in there too so if anyone is interested in those let me know.

Also i have been playing pokemon lately ( Pokemon Y) and just beat the elite four/champion etc so I'm looking for friend codes to expand my options for my friend safari xD i have no friends right now its very sad.

Alright so I'm free for the next 2-3 weeks here so I'm opening commissions again, just another three slots. You can find the info in this journal or in my commissions tab.
The last three commissions I've done are my most recent submissions(pretty much) - I haven't updated the examples but if you are curious they shouldn't be hard to find.

So like I didn't expect to get much interest/all three commission slots filled or anything at all, thats pretty cool.

Also to all you new watchers, thanks so much - I hope you stick with me over the school months here where I'm super unproductive in the art department. Which will sadly be the case for the next while here.


Theres has been some continued interest in more commission slots and I would love love love to accept them constantly but I just can't. My workload at school takes priority and having a bunch of unfinished commissions waiting to be done just stresses me out. What little extra time I do have is also currently being taken up by a rather large set of work I have agreed to do, otherwise I would be comfortable with taking on one a month or so.

Likely come december and the end of finals I will be opening up slots again (probably five or so)
If you would like to be notified when i do open them up please feel free to leave a comment/drop me a note/whatever and i will be happy to send out a Note when I do reopen commissions.

That being said I'm not going to open very many slots at a time. There will be three slots open this time around these slots can be filled by whatever type of commission but there will only be three available.

Depending on what you all ask for I may open more as I finish these.

These will be a skechy-lined work with either a two tone shading (one dark one light) or a suggestion of flats (like the tiger)
Bust: 3$
Fullbody: 5$

Flatcolored Comissions

These have finished lines and flat colors.

Fully shaded/painted:

Fairly evident -these are fully shaded in a painterly style with clean lines.
The third example is an example of detailed fur shading and will cost extra (+10)

Im working all summer before I go back to school here. I have another two years of University left and my job doesn't pay a whole lot so I wondered if maybe I could open some commissions for a little extra cash because dammit would it be nice to have some wiggle room.


That being said i have a few concerns about trying to do commission work:
1. I dont have a lot of watchers
I love all you people who think im fantastical enough to make the watchlist but to my sparse knowledge not a lot of you are comissioners ( in fact most of you that do read these journals are kind of in my position ... i think. I could be VASTLY wrong though - y'know )
I thought perhaps i could hold a raffle type dealio for a freebie for people who post a journal or the like advertising that I'm opening them to try and garner some interest. But IDK if that a good idea i dunno

2. I don't have a lot of recent example work/ i dont have consistent style
This is a result of going to school and not drawing for eight months a year... it kinda sucks. Noot too much to do about it though really.

3. I do a lot of free stuff and have no idea how to price out potential comissions
this kind of contributes to number 1 and number 4 - but i DO do a lot of freebies when im bored/have time/am feeling uninspired. So I dunno - i feel like that devalues my stuff as a whole? /worry
So that also means i have NO IDEA on prices that i would ask for - likeid relate it to time spent on things somehow but that doesnt give me a very solid basis if i have no baseline.

4. I dont know if there would be interest and I am afraid of opening these.
Like most art people artists? whatever i feel that my work is always not good enough - its what makes me want to keep improving - but its also what makes me afraid of taking peoples money for my work because ie never done it before and like EEP - seriously.

Not to mention over the time I've been here there's been what seems like a huge boom in people doing commissions and its to the point that i feel bad? i dunno almost for asking for money for my work - which is silly but yea. Not to mention i get super OCD about doing good work when its for other people/etc because i want them to be happy with it and think its worth it and stuff... So basically Im just fkmadspgraiogn about this whole thing and super nervous and worried that no one likes me/my stuff and that ill take it as a sign of being worthless because my mind just hates me and likes to fill me with silly paranoid fears. >/////<

So

Thats my dilemma.
I need to make money somehow though....
This is the only way i can keep the art going as a hobby - otherwise Im going to have to pick up a second job or something. I don't even know.

Question 1 : I have no idea how to change my featured Submission and Awesome as AIdens abs are I am really tired of seeing them.
