Plans for the future - Post Hypnovember 2024
General | Posted a year agoSelf-Reflection
This was a pretty good year for Hypnovember, all things considered. I was able to reserve a lot of time and actually commit to writing a number of one-shots covering some scenarios I was very interested in tackling.
Of the 5-6 or so stories I had planned, there was only one that I did not have enough time to get around to writing, and I'm okay with that. The idea I did not write was one that seemed better as a spoken or audio based story than it would be as a written work, so it's difficult to say whether or not it would have turned out well if I had completed it. It's always something I can revisit next year's Hypnovember, or even sometime outside of that month if I really decide I want to put that idea down on paper/text.
Moving Forward
I've written quite a few random hypnosis stories now covering ideas and concepts that I wanted to get into and explore for myself, but at this point in time, I'm starting to feel a bit like I've reached the limits of what I immediately want to cover. While I'm sure this may change, and I may be struck with new inspirations down the road, trying to force anything at this point would probably lead to burnout for me, or just writing something that I feel is uninteresting or derivative.
As such, I plan on changing gears and focusing more on my Fursonas.
I've had lore for my Fursonas for quite a while now which falls (mostly) outside of the Hypnokink space. Sound and Silence, the mainline canon of my two Sonas Reyson and Clair, has been published on SoFurry for quite some time, but I want to revisit the writing and polish it for one more editing run before uploading the story once more to FA-especially since I caught quite a few issues on my last read through of the story a few months ago. There are also prequel stories for both Reyson and Clair individually that has been tabled indefinitely that I really want to revisit sooner than later, as well as fantasy AU story featuring the same characters that I want to make progress on as well.
With all of these factors in mind, I plan to deprioritize work on writing hypnosis fiction, except maybe the occasional piece relating to the Shatter The Self universe while I work on completing the lore for my Sonas-and even that may still continue to be a slow process as I juggle my everyday life on top of that writing effort.
Hypnosis stories may still happen-I may offer or take on one or two writing commissions now and again for Hypnovember, for anyone that is interested. Consider this post a formal invitation for you to come to me if there is something you would like me to write for you.
If you watch/follow my work for the hypnosis fics, consider this a post to thank you for your support as well as inform you that there is a possibility there will not be much hypnosis themed work for a period of time.
Until then, take care, and thank you for keeping an eye on me and my work.
Why do I write Hypnosis themed fics?
General | Posted 2 years agoWell, I'm sure it doesn't need to be said, but I definitely fetishize hypnosis and find it extremely arousing. That said, if I'm being honest, I much prefer to read hypnosis smut rather than write it.
I've always enjoyed writing as a hobby. Language, and the diverse world of diction becomes ours to manipulate and shape into a word scape that can send people on fantastic journeys. More simply, I really like being able to flex my diction to create good reading experiences for people.
There is something about reading a story that also ties into elements of hypnosis. A well written story, with well placed words and perfect flow will seamlessly draw you in, and captivate the reader as it beckons them to continue onwards. This parallels the way dive into trance is depicted as one being pulled into a deep slumber, aching to fall more and more under the hypnotist's power. I think this marriage of ideas is really beautiful, and something I very much want to achieve with my works is to capture this feeling of flow and falling into my written pieces. It might not be a stretch to say I value the wordplay more than creating a sensible, well structured story... Though doing both is certainly a nice plus.
If you've read any of my writings and felt moved by it, you have my sincerest gratitude. I don't regard myself as a top notch author by any means, so any positive feedback you have to give is always humbling and beloved.
