General | Posted 15 years agoHeat index of 110. For some strange reason... me like.
Well, as the writers block continues to bash me in the head, I keep hearing I'm wanted in a band yet no one has called me about it yet. Meanwhile my truck is out of commission due to a fuel leak, so I'm stuck ether walking or riding my crappy bike to get around town, and DAMN it's hot.

RANT: Greedy morons need to stfu
General | Posted 15 years agoSimplicity. It's been missing from the way we convene. A thousand additional words, spoken a thousand times over that we didn't need or care to know but seem to spark anger and conflict in the masses. Every one has a half assed opinion that they wear like a badge. They have a right to it, but I didn't ask for it.
People bitch and moan about who to blame, what's right or wrong, or how unfavorable something might be, not daring to walk someone else's path for a second to ask why.
People high on the hog complain about how their tax dollers go to waist on things like roads and various assistance programs demanding they be privately owned so greedy bastards like themselves can put a toll booth on every mile of every road and feed of those who are barely hanging on to their jobs forty miles away.
All those arrogant fools who think they are smart but wouldn't know wisdom if it smacked them in the face with common sense... or a shovel. There's always a "professional opinion", but the thing about opinions is that there's no such thing as a "professional" one. A professional opinion of a millionaire CEO can just as well be shared by the guy standing on the corner in a gorilla suit holding a sign. Anyone who thinks their opinion is any better just because they have more then a million dollars in the bank... or they own the damn thing should have their mansions burned to the ground along with their bank accounts.
I think the moral of this rant is... too many people don't know when to shut the hell up. Too often people don't know the reality from the brainwashing. We've all been lied to, and nothing is what it seems. There was no recession, that was just a wave of stupidity that just washed over the entire planet because some greedy bastards said "ooh! I want that!" and suckered some lesser greedy bastards in to saying the same thing. Look where that got us. Thirty years ago some people who actually had intelligence said "hey, the planet's going to get warm really fast if we don't do something". Unfortunately they didn't have the capital of the idiots that control the status quo, and all the wretched weather we've had in the past few years isn't exactly a result of cooling.
So what's the lesson here? Complete morons are in control, and keeping any one with wisdom from calling them wrong. There are a fair amount of intelligent people with money who've tried to change things for the better, but the old saying remains true, the empty can rattles the most, and there's a lot of empty cans drowning them out. What can we do? We could rally against it. What's to stop us?
Let's shed some light on that. We've all been distracted. Perhaps all these ridiculous excuses for media covering everything from how little progress is being made in Iraq to the latest celebrity break up has distracted us all from what really matters. Perhaps We're all afraid to uncover the truth, afraid that we might not be heard over the rattling of empty cans. Well you know what empty cans are for? Target practice. There's a lot of corrupted people out there with only their money and their "I'm better then you" social status to keep them company, and they're doing all the complaining. We can change the world, solve all the problems that exist, but only if we don't give in to those bastards who think our opinions don't matter because of our social status. We out number them, we out wit them.

Concidering relocation...possibly Illinois
General | Posted 15 years agoAs I think I mentioned in my recent voice post, lightning fried my modem, so I'm updating from the library.
I think it's safe to say I'm not satisfied with my situation. Slowly being strangled in a place with no chance of getting work tied with my new reluctance toward receiving SSI (Those who watch me on Facebook know what I'm talking about) leaves me with limited options. The most favorable option would be to move to Champaign, Illinois to expand my horizons and increase the chance of finding work. The least favorable would be to stay here and struggle.
The next couple months will decide what I will do. If all of a sudden I get a band together out of thin air I might stay and see how that goes, but it's not as likely. I've got to figure out how I'm going to get the money to make a move possible. I'm thinking one option would be to get together with some of my musician friends and put something out.
I've got family in nearby Mohomet (however it's spelled), I can stay there for a little while. Aside from gas, I'll need minutes for my phone, as well as a computer (that doesn't crash every time I start the damn browser) so I can stay connected. A friend of mine might be building one for me. It's going to have Windows 7.

Auditions Warcat
General | Posted 15 years agoI've had the luck of having a few names drop in the hat, possible auditionees for
warcat. I've got the names of two drummers, one being a former member of Art of Exodus (an amazingly good band). I've also got a bassist who's thinking about it.
So, yeah. Progress I guess. Hopefully who ever we find for a drummer has a practice space. The room I had originally planed on using would take to much work to clean up... it's a total shit hole atm.

General | Posted 15 years agoI got a tracfone Sunday. It came with 20min on it, but after playing with it it's down to about 4. I haven't even called anyone yet XD. Anyway, if you want my number note me yours and I'll text it too you once I get more minutes.
Haven't been able to get in to a band yet, so I'm still looking. They say keeping a band together is harder then a relationship... I haven't had much luck with ether
I'm now on Sheezy Art.
I'm also doing odd jobs to pay for gas... and my new phone. Until I get lucky enough to hold a regular job. Luck...is the word.

General | Posted 15 years agoI just found out that my mother is paying $25/month for ...DIAL UP!
Killing the Dream...
General | Posted 15 years ago...is an Oskaloosa band which I'll be trying out for this week. They've got sort of an Iced Earth meets Godsmack style, which should meld well with my own.
Meanwhile, I've updated my profile here and added some extra contact info. Hit me up sometime. I may not have much to say, but PLEASE annoy the FUCK out of me. I'm bored.
P.S. The health care reform bill passed last night.

This local band is looking for a new lead guitarist. I'm droppin my name in.
Flash, the frontman, has his own studio (Black Sun Studio) where the original LTZ line up produced their first album, "LosT".

Set back...BIG set back...not good...WHY IS THE RUM GONE!???
General | Posted 16 years agoOkay, so those who actively watch my website or my live journal already know, SSA denied me for SSI... Though they agree I have PDD, they don't believe it is severe enough to keep me from working a menial job doing simple repetitive tasks. Of course, no one could possibly support themselves fully working part time minimum wage. Besides I've tried that... it didn't work out. Read the blog on my website for more on that.
With SSI no longer an option, I won't be able to get the equipment I need to make a quality recording, nor will I be able to get a laptop to replace this dyeing POS computer. All that stuff listed on my wish list on Guitarcenter.com that I had planned on getting? yeah, not any more.
...This really sucks.
Still cant get a jack plate ether... $7 for shipping on a $2 peace of metal, fuck that.

A final answer...
General | Posted 16 years agoRegarding SSI is expected with in the week (I expect a yes). As soon as I get the first check, I plan on getting a laptop. Something with a duel core processor and Windows 7. This will be the core of my mobile studio, both for audio and video production.
I get my guitar back in about a week, and I can't wait. I'll be back to writing songs for "Darkness", and hell, I might even find the time to record a few things for
fiorchestra. Speaking of Darkness, I'm thinking about hiring a drummer to lay down the drum tracks for the whole album. Not sure yet though. Probably do the same thing with the bass, unless I suddenly get a huge influx of money in which case I'll just get my own.

Pickups. Opinions needed.
General | Posted 16 years agoI'm thinking about putting a new pickup in the bridge of the Jackson. I don't have the money for it now, but I'm thinking when I do, it's going to be a Seymour Ducan. Originally I was going to put in a Dimebucker, until I looked up an Invader. I heard these are both muddy sounding. Right now I'm looking at an SH-12 Screamin' Demon. I'm liking the reviews, so I'm leaning with it.
Later on I might put this in the center position, then this at the neck.

General | Posted 16 years agoYa know what the beauty is of having an account with your real name? You're not restricted to using one fursona as the avatar, or even using a fursona at all.
For those who don't know, this scary lookin guy in my icon now is Breeg, a massive hybrid Warcat. He's been sort of an unofficial mascot of the metal band that I've been trying to get going forever now.
Updates
I'm still waiting for my guitar. My bro has been busy with work and hasn't yet gotten around to it yet.
For all you
parkourfurs, particularly those near Ottumwa, I'm getting things ready for Ottumwa Iowa's FIRST pk group, with a jam coming in April. Check out the site I'm making!

There are three bands playing in Oskaloosa THIS SATURDAY at that All Family Raceway Bar place, one of them is Simple Design. I'll be there getting some camera footage.
Speaking of Simple Design, whom are all really cool guys, their lead guitarist Ryan Craig has to be the best friend a guy could have. I've been needing a bigger amp for a long time, and come tax time he's going to GIVE me his 120W Crate. . Also, I might end up being the second lead guitarist for Simple Design, but that's a secret so STFU!!
That's pretty much all there is for now. Yup.

General | Posted 16 years agoOkay, for those who are unaware this is
strikerkingcheetah. I've evolved a lot since I first came on to this site in 2006, and this new account reflects my ambition in evolution. Who I am today has shifted in the past 4 years. It has been a rocky road, but now I think I can say that I've found my self. I've evolved to be stronger and wiser. My music has shifted, my skill as a guitarist has improved.
