Merry Christmas + Updates
Posted 8 years agoHey guys!
Merry Christmas everyone!
This month has been even more insane than I could have predicted.
Looking more and more like Dec is going to have to be a hiatus month
going forward. Between being slammed at work and then scrambling
to find gifts in my down time, I've barely had any time to even touch
my tablet and draw. Being sick off and on also did nothing to help with
any of that... -(_)-
However, with the holidays behind us, I'm looking forward to having
things settle down and be able to resume my work as normal. Going
to use Jan as a catch-up month and try to work through as many
current commissions as possible. I'll be extending current commission
subscription rewards to compensate for the unexpected downtime. And
new commission subscription slots should be available in February.
Again, I am so sorry for the absence. I'll be sorting through notes, comments,
and submissions over the next week as I resume work on commissions.
In the meantime, I hope all of you had a fantastic holiday! <3
Wow...
Posted 8 years agoIt's been...a really long time since I've experience something so crushing.
Photoshop crashed and corrupted a file...on a commission that I was literally 15 minutes from finishing...
And now...I get to start over...

Bi-Monthly Update
Posted 8 years agoHaha, like that's a thing! XD
Anyways, just thought I'd check in with a lil' update on what's going on.
Ended up scrapping the Adoptober idea altogether.
I think some of the designs I had in mind would have been a little too
out there to sell. I do still have something in mind for next month, but
it isn't going to involve a release per day. Maybe one big batch per week...
or just sporadic adopts over the course of the month.
Who knows [or cares]! ^(_)^;;
For now though, you can at least expect one more batch of adopts before the
end of the month. Should also be some more Autumn/Halloween themed YCHs
coming out soon. Working my way through some existing YCHs and
commissions first. More updates/posts on all that here soon!
And for those even remotely interested, I am still planning on starting my
Patreon again this coming month. NO PAY WALL, I PROMISE.
This purely is just going to be about supporting what I do. However, I could use
some feedback on what sort of rewards people are most interested in! I can
tell you already that the higher tiers will involve first dibs on adopts/YCHs, in
addition to discounts on commissions and some artwork each month.
[B]I'm curious though...does anyone have any interest in me offering some
dedicated one on one stream time to draw what you want for say like an
hour or so at a time?[B]
As always, any feedback is much appreciated. Be well guys! <3
Real Talk [Feedback please..]
Posted 8 years agoWas honestly kind of nervous about the back half of this
month anyways. Largely because I was honestly concerned if anyone
would even be interested in the creepier adopts I had planned.
After waking up this morning to find no bids on the Bonfire Beast...
...that feeling has only gotten stronger.
So, I'm asking in all seriousness if anyone is interested in me
continuing the event or not. I mean... I've been having fun, personally.
Even if having a new adopt each day roughly around the same time has
been a little stressful...it's been fun too.
But, it's not worth continuing only to have wasted my time on something
no one wants, right?
If I put a halt on Adoptober, I may just open up for some slots for full body
pieces instead. Would that be better?
Update on Things [Commissions, Adopts, Etc]
Posted 8 years agoI know few people read these,
but I like to post them anyways, just so
the information is out there.
Didn't have as much time as I would have liked
to wrap up more commissions before the end of
September, just due to a short 1 week vacation and
work. Did make some progress during that week though
and I will continue pushing the various projects to completion.
In the meantime, I'm also working on producing one adopt
per day throughout the month of Oct, for Adoptober. I do also
have a similar event planned for November. The general idea
being that I might do these adopt events at specific times
throughout the year [more specifically, two months on and then
one month off before starting again].
Time permitting, I may also be launching Patreon again later on
this month or beginning of next month. No pay wall, I promise.
Just a way to support my work and get a little something back in
return.
Anyways, back to work! Be well everyone. <3

Plans for October Continued... + Patreon Input?
Posted 8 years agoPretty much decided at this point that I -will- be taking part in Adoptober.
The plan is to have commissions pretty much wrapped up by the end of Sept
and I'll be posting a new adopt each day in Oct then...with each getting progressively
creepier as we head towards the end of the month.
There will still be commission opportunities too though!
And I actually think I have an idea for Nov as well.
Sorry everyone who doesn't care about adopts!
>(_)<
ALSO! I am strongly considering rebooting my Patreon.
Hear me out!
No pay wall what so ever. This is more about having first dibs on commission
opportunities (possibly adopts), YCHs, etc. For the higher tiers, I'm also considering some
time slots per month for a one on one stream where I draw whatever you want
during that time period.
Obviously haven't hammered all the details out just yet.
I'd love to hear from you guys!
What kinds of things would you be most interested in?
As always, thanks for reading!

Plans for October
Posted 8 years agoI know we're not even halfway through this month, but the
cooler days recently have me thinking towards Fall. ^(_)^;
Definitely have some plans for some Autumn themed YCH!
However, I've also seen some people posting about doing an Adoptober event.
While I know that's not necessarily what everybody here is watching me for...
would anybody be interested in that? A new Autumn/Halloween themed adopt each day?
Your input is appreciated, as always.

Update on Things/Upcoming Commission Opportunities
Posted 8 years agoWas out of town visiting family this weekend...so, I apologize for being slow to answer messages and for all the adopt spam while trying to get the most recent set sold. Still wish I could better dial in a price range that is suitable for everyone, but not unfair for the effort I put into things... Meh.
I still have a fair amount of trade work to finish up for various things. I'll be doing my best to at least get everyone sketches this week. ^(_)^
Also, thinking about doing a limited run of simple character ref sheets. More info on that in the next few days.
My thanks for everyone for their patience while I was gone!

$12 Bust Commission
Posted 8 years agoBeen a slow day at work...
Not surprising given it's 100 degrees outside and anything the sun touches is positively melting.
Anyways, figured I might ease back into doing commissions some with some bust commissions.
Since it's just me today, adult content is fine (ie. naked bewbs are OK).
Just taking one slot for now. Payment due when work is complete.
If you're interested in a slot (even after the initial one is taken), please feel free to leave a comment and I can note you for your info if I have more time to do these today/tomorrow.
Thanks! <3

Fight Me!
Posted 8 years agoHey all! I'm delighted to say that I finally found someone who has designed a mobile version of one of my absolute favorite games Tetris Attack!
Medley Studio has released a game called Super Plexis, which is a fantastic take on the original game play. It's been a real joy to get to play the game again...and even cooler that you can also play against other players online.
If you fancy a match, add me as a friend ---> code # 215055619
I'll try posting a journal when I think I can play for a while at work or at home. Would love to have some friendly competition! <3
Happy New Year and Such!
Posted 9 years agoHoly shit guys, it's been a hot second!
The holidays have been crazy between work and family...but it's finally over. Going to try to jump back into things while work should slow down a bit. Especially if winter ever decides to finally drop the hammer down.
Anyways, I just wanted to post a lil' something to show that I'm not dead by any means. And to wish you all a happy new year of course!
For those waiting for refunds, please just give me till Feb to get through the very last bit of Christmas between family stragglers and friends. I've got healthcare all setup now and that's going to be a cool $300 a month. -(__)- And I guess we'll just wait and see what (if anything) changes with that under the new el presidente. Anyways, I'll be in touch with those who have been waiting so that I can get you guys paid back and squared up completely.
In the meantime, I'll try to find time to doodle and slowly pick my way through new comments and submissions.
And again, Happy New Year guys! ^(_)^ <3

Workaholic - Ongoing Update
Posted 9 years agoHey guys! It's been a while since my last update, but honestly not much has changed since then. Still rolling along working both jobs (roughly 70 hours a week). Business has been picking up at the spa store between sales and service and while there is still downtime, I'm finding it hard to have any dedicated time to get into a groove with artwork. For the time being, my greatest opportunity to draw is while I'm at my main job. However, one customer walks through the door and I have to tuck the laptop away. And it's difficult to get into a good head space/rhythm to work in that environment... Also, my manager is almost always here behind the counter with me and occasionally will glance at what I'm doing, so it's been pretty much impossible to work on anything of an adult nature.
That being said, I have some decisions/changes to make regarding the work I can do going forward and how that will affect what I currently owe. Ideally, I would love to be able to just drop the money and pay everyone back and be able to start fresh in 2017. With the holidays coming up however and Christmas presents to buy, that will be easier said than done. So, for now, I have some adopts that I've been tinkering with that should be complete soon and ready to be posted/auctioned off. Any money earned from their purchase will be divided up to start paying people back.
And in regards to the going forward bit...I suppose we'll see. I'll still keep doodling and occasionally sell off what I draw. I must admit, it's been so refreshing to have work cover all my expenses and not have to feel pressured all the time to supplement the rest with funds from artwork in a panicked rush. I may still offer commissions at points, but all artwork will have to be clean content for now and will have to come with the understanding that progress may be slow. I've been told that the winter months are pretty dead at the spa store...so, hopefully that spells good news for having the opportunity to draw more often.
In the meantime, I would appreciate more than you could know if everyone can just try and stay patient with me as I work my way through this to get everyone paid back. I certainly had no idea back at the beginning of the summer that a new job was right on the horizon and what all that would entail. It's been a learning process, but we'll get there!
Hope everyone's been doing well and Happy Halloween everybody! ^(_)^ <3
Workaholic X2 [Owed work? Please read!]
Posted 9 years agoPosting another quick update as some more things have changed with my work situation. -(_)-
For the duration of this month and into the first 2-3 weeks of Sept, I'm essentially working two full time jobs [officially it's 81 hours a week]. When I initially agreed to stay on part time at my old job, I had hoped that all I would be doing was offering some light assistance and training until a replacement for my position could be found.
However, as the weeks have continued to roll along, no replacement has been hired and [as usual] things have only gotten more and more crazy busy as BTS barrels towards its climax. Normally by now we'd be running overnight shifts. Obviously while working my new job 6 days a week during the day, overnight shifts are NOT something I'm willing to offer my old job. However, I did concede more and more of my free time on the weekends.
Before last week, Saturday used to the nicest [shortest] day of the week since I only worked at the spa store and the day was only 7 hours long. To make up for the lack of overnight shifts though, I ended up offering to work over at my old job -after- my normal Sat shift at the spa store. In short, tacking on another 9 hours on to my almost full day over at the spa store. >(_)< 16 hour day is pretty freaking rough...
In regards to owed work, these changed have meant that I have next to no time to draw. I'm finally finding some balance though and I should have some small opportunities this week before we hit the weekend [which has actually become an awful block of time spent at work where I'm hardly home at all]. Again, things should only be like this till the middle of Sept. By then, I would certainly hope they will find someone to replace me and I'll be able to actually step down to part time as originally planned. And believe me, that cannot happen soon enough!
In the meantime, I will get work done as I can and I must beg everyone to continue being patient with me. I did finally break down and buy a small sketchbook today. It's been driving me crazy not being able to draw [or just being too damn tired to draw] when I get home...and we have periods of downtime at work, so it only made sense. I'll have to scan in some pieces when I have them finished. It's been such a relief to be able to doodle again. <3 Have a nice week everyone! Fall is coming! ^(_)^
First Week Update
Posted 9 years agoWell, got the first week at the new job under my belt now. Received my first paycheck from them today and the extra $$$ was well worth the switch from my old job. My old job is still making demands on my time though, especially as we head into the busiest part of the season. We'd normally be starting overnight shifts by now...but, obviously, that isn't a possibility with my new job.
Which is great as far as I'm concerned because I don't -want- to have to work overnight shifts anymore. So, we've worked out a schedule that doesn't include overnights, but which is still loaded with hours. In fact, at the moment, I'm essentially working over 80 hours between the two jobs. -(_)- Thankfully, that should only last till the middle of next month.
Anyways, I'm still working on my various projects in the little bit of free time I have in between working. I apologize in advance if progress is a bit slower for a while. Gonna get as much done as I can each day. *tired thumbs up*

Workaholic [new job news continued...]
Posted 9 years agoMy apologies for all the journals recently. Seems like a lot of chit chat over not much action...yet. Still, I want to keep everyone informed on the off chance that my commissioners are reading this.
So, there's been a slight change of plans with this new job. Well...I suppose it'd be more appropriate to say that there's been a change of plans with my decision to leave my old job. I am by no means giving up on this new opportunity! However, after speaking extensively with my store manager today, I decided that it might be wise to stay, as opposed to quitting and only working one job.
Given what my hours will be like at this new job, we started talking about how we could maybe work a 20-25 hour part time schedule around my full time schedule at the new store. It's not exactly the solution that I want, however it was a weird relief knowing that I won't just be shoving off into uncharted waters without something familiar in my days. Even if that "something familiar" is the terrible beast that is retail. And many of my coworkers were notably relieved to hear that I was staying and stopped being standoffish.
It's going to mean that my weeks are going to get a whole lot more busy, given that most of my days will now be 11 hours long between both jobs. However, my hope is that this new job will be a whole lot less taxing on my body and that it won't FEEL like a whole lot of work. But only time will tell. On paper at least, this 25 hour schedule is only 15 hours shy of the full time shift that I've worked every week for years...and my hope is that it should be a welcome boost to my income, working both jobs.
What does this mean for commissions, adopts, and projects? Uh...I don't know just yet. I'll likely be working 6 out of 7 days of the week once this new job starts. So, from that angle, things could be pretty rough towards making progress. HOWEVER. If things pan out the way I'm hoping, this new job may be relaxed enough that I may be able to start bringing my laptop along with me and get some work done during the day. But again, we'll see...I'll have more info after I start anyways.
New Job O'clock continued...
Posted 9 years agoSo, to keep a long story short, some internal things have been shifting around management-wise in the company I work for. The man who now finds himself as our new president is coming the Thurs after next. Originally I was hoping next Friday would be my last day in this job and I wouldn't have to care. However, thanks to my manager being a hard ass about the two week notice thing and my new job not wanting to start me mid week, I'm stuck here till the 5th and I will indeed have to deal with the new president.
All that to say, our district manager was in here this morning checking up on how the cleanup of the store is coming along. He's obviously aware that I put in my notice, so we had to do the awkward song and dance of him offering me more money to stay...and me telling him no over and over again. I did make it known that the initial pay for this new job is pretty much exactly what I make now. And I feel like if he was a smarter man, that fact alone should have told him volumes about how I feel about this job while I'm turning down his generous pay raise offerings.
I will not be bought. I have waited too long for this...
And on another (somewhat related) note, I'm going home this weekend to visit with family. Only have this and the next two weekends after that off and then I likely will be working through the weekend pretty much all the time at this new job. I say this comment is somewhat related to work because my mom suggested that for this visit, we take a trip up to Ellicott City, MD. A place I've only ever been once to attend a store meeting when I had just started with my current company.
I had maybe been with them 5-6 months when I came in one morning and my manager asked if I would drive to Ellicott City for the meeting. [Another person was supposed to have gone, but they were on vacation and I guess my store didn't plan ahead? Idk] This was long before I had a smart phone with gps and my coworker's directions were shoddy at best. I got lost along the way and ended up down in a quaint fishing village that I guess counts as Old Ellicott City.
Anyways, the point I was going for here is largely just the passage of time is such a strange thing. After talking with my mom about the weekend plans, I found myself thinking back to that morning, driving to this place I had never been before. How I had felt and the person that I was at the time. And for the briefest moment, as I stand here on the eve of opening a new chapter in my life, I look down the mineshaft of time to this young person and wonder how they would have felt knowing what the next 12 years of their life would be like.
Time passes in a blink and yet so much can happen even in such a relatively small amount of time.
Makes you wonder what the next 12 years will be like...
Oh hey, would you look at the time!
Posted 9 years ago...it's exactly new job o/clock!
This is not a drill, I haz a new job! My new official title will be Assistant Manager/Service Coordinator. The second part largely just means that in addition to my duties as assistant manager, I'll also be a glorified secretary. XD And while that doesn't -sound-glamorous it also isn't particularly difficult compared to what I normally do now. And the store owner assures me that proving myself in this capacity will put me on the fast track to moving up and earning more $$$ as time goes on.
SO, that means I have a big decision to make on when my last day should be. This new store needs me pretty much immediately...but they're understanding that I want to be professional and offer my current job a two weeks notice. It's soooo tempting to just jump ship because I'm excited to start learning this new job. But, don't want to burn any bridges either so yeah...
Also, just trying to work up the necessary nerve to hand my main boss my two weeks notice tomorrow. UGH so excited!

Movie' on Up and Makin' Ze Progress!
Posted 9 years agoI'm so excited guys! I have an interview tomorrow with a place in the same shopping center where I currently work. Still retail, but family owned as opposed to corporate and it should be way more low key. I have a really good feeling about this and I'm hoping that this will finally be my break! Pay is going to be about the same as what I make now at the start. If I can move up just a bit though (small staff so I feel my chances are good), I could be making $10-20K -more- per year! <3
In other news, I have been busy busy busy with projects! Working along on everything as quickly as I can, so stay tuned for some uploads over the next couple days/weeks. As many may have noticed already, I've started doing some collaborative works with
which has been super fun and refreshing! You can expect a lot more from us here soon! In the meantime though, I'm still working towards finishing the egg adopts from the last batch, both of my recent YCHs, and the two egg adopts from Sasu and I's first collab piece.
I'll keep hoping for good news from this promising lead for a new job. Until that happens though, I'm going to keep pushing ahead on what little free time I have each day. Please be patient with me and I should have some cool stuff to share here shortly!
Stay cool everyone! ^(_)^
