I mean, it's sad that Hasbro smacked down the original idea. However, what they came up with instead is even better as far as I'm concerned. ^(._.)^ MLP is cute and all, but getting to see a broader spectrum of hoofers than just ponies is great.

3 More Days...
Posted 10 years agoHoo boo...only 3 more days left in this incredibly shitty 12 day stretch. Yes...I've been working every night since last Tues with no break/day off...and I will not -have- a day off until this coming Sat. Which is also the day we leave for the beach. So, I'll be coming home from work that morning and sleeping a very little bit, before throwing stuff in the car and hitting the road.
Not trying to come across as whiny, but I cannot properly convey to you how physically destroyed I am. And certain other circumstances aren't helping much either. Like our AC dying yesterday. -(._.)- Commented before I left for work that it felt unusually warm in the house. The day hadn't been brutal though, so it wasn't till my husband messaged me around 4AM that no air was moving in the house, that it sunk in that the AC was broken. And obviously, there's no contacting your landlord at 4AM to get the repair process in motion. Instead, I came home this morning to a disgustingly stagnant house and 3 cats pancaked on the floor. Contacted the landlord about calling a repair company and promptly flopped on the bed, no sheets - no anything.
The AC is fixed now and the temp is slowly coming down...I will emphasize the word -slowly- though, as it's still almost 80 degrees in here. But, here's hoping that by the time I come home tomorrow morning, the house should be comfortable again. I surely hope so anyways, as I truly feel like I didn't sleep at all today and I'm utterly unprepared for another 10+ hour shift. At the very least, tomorrow I should be able to come home and just go straight to bed. It only made things worse this morning because [without knowing the scope of the AC issue] I had already planned to go straight from work to have my car serviced so that it's ready for travel.
So yeah, all that to say, the next few days are going to be rather busy and taxing. Really -reeaaaaaally- looking forward to making it to the beach and trying to forget about the grueling past 2 months. I'll have some progress on things and new artwork to post soon...but, it may not be till sometime next week. Hope everyone else is doing well!

If you have any $$$ to spare, I highly recommend throwing some of it Shane's way. He's getting ready to move and is footing all of the expenses on his own by doing some PWYW commissions for a limited time. He does really great work insanely fast [puts me to shame] and is an absolute gentleman!
Help this guy out...or at the very least, go kill some time and read through some of his comics.

Who Needs Sleep
Posted 10 years agoCurrently over 50 hours into what will ultimately be skirting the edge of being a 60 hour work week. I've just got home from work (lovely 11.5 hour shift), and looking forward to my only day off this week.
I feel excited and creative right now and would love nothing more than to plop down at my machine and draw. -(._.)- Sadly, the rest of my body is not as gung-ho about that idea. So, it's off to bed for me...

Such a Disappointment
Posted 10 years agoToday has been a very disappointing day...just in general. Got called in for my review at work and for the first time in ages, I was excited about it. Had heard rumblings for a while now that the company would be raising everyone's pay to compensate for a myriad of things. Turns out, they are. But only for part time people who (thanks to the company's reaction to the new healthcare laws) can only work 25 hours a week.
My position as a full time employee (even one that has been taking on increasingly more frequent managerial responsibilities) doesn't apparently merit a boost in compensation. So, personal disappointment there. Wasn't expecting the raise to be huge, but to not get anything is just another giant tic mark in the "time to get a new damn job" column.
Also, the head boss contacted me this afternoon to make sure I'd be down with pulling some more overnight shifts over the weekend/early part of next week. Good. I hope I work 6 goddamn days in a row all the way to September...
*sigh* Don't mind me. I'm headed to bed now anyways. -(._.)-

Updates and a Video!
Posted 10 years agoSecond page for Nyxis's Day Off is fully funded now and well on it's way to being colored! ^(._.)^ I must go shortly and do battle with my yard...but after that, I'll have some much needed time to make some progress. Also, for those whom are following the project, you'll want to take a look at this awesome video that Nyxis's made which we're hoping will better explain the theme and purpose behind the folio.
Also, just a general life update, things are worse and worse every week where I work. Our schedule [which used to be a full page front and at least half of the back] is now down to just over a half page, because of how many people have left us recently. I'm hoping my GM can jump into hiring some people when he gets back from vacation. We only have two weeks left before "tax free weekend" in VA, which is usually a nightmare even with a full staff. If you're unfamiliar with said weekend...imagine old school Black Friday spread out over 3 days. People stacked on more people, all clawing to get things they perceive to be super cheap. And for families with multiple kids, I understand you need to save whatever you can when buying school supplies. But please think things through... If tax was really THAT much more money tacked onto every purchase, people would be rioting in the streets. You're saving $5 on every $100...and standing in line for an hour with other families and their screaming brats, to do so. Not. Fucking. Worth it.
Long story short, I guess what I'm trying to say is, we're about to plunge headlong into our busiest time of the year [not just that weekend, but the month and a half that follows it] with less people than we've ever had before. So, I just want to make everyone aware now that this will likely result in some super stressful/taxing 50-60 hour work weeks for me. I'll do the best I can to keep working along on everything though! Just be aware of what's going on when I can't be here at my computer. ;(._.);

Needs to Be Said
Posted 10 years agoI need everyone who is seeking work from me to understand that this is a totally transparent operation. I work my 8 hour shift at my day job and then spend whatever time is left working on whatever I feel I have the energy to do...
I have not and will not EVER finish a commission and then forget about it. I need every dollar that could possibly come my way right now...
If I am working on your commission, you'll know. I'll either be noting/emailing you letting you know that it's done or you'll be receiving updates on progress until it IS done. If I have not been in touch with you, no work has been done. It's as simple as that. And while I understand people wanting updates...I cannot see the point in me noting you every week to tell you that I've had to spend my time elsewhere. Or, more realistically, that work has been kicking my ass and that I simply could NOT work on anything because half the time I'm ready for bed by 7PM.
Really cannot apologize enough that I am slow at what I do. If you like the things I make though or have liked them enough that you want something for yourself, I truly appreciate that. And I will be happy to make something for you...but, I need you to be patient and know that I'm doing the best I can. Every time someone notes me about work I haven't finished [or worst yet, haven't even started] for them yet, it makes me feel terrible inside.
Life has provided enough stress already, please don't add to it by poking me with a stick while I'm plodding along. ;(._.);

Nyxis's Day Off a 6 piece folio - Donations Open!
Posted 10 years agoHey everybody! The first image in Nyxis's 6 piece folio is almost ready to unveil [with any luck it will be ready this weekend]. In preparation for that and to give our ad a place to link to, I wanted to go ahead and release some information about how this all will go down and how your donations will be rewarded!
First of all, for those who may have missed the initial journals, the reason I started this in the first place was to try to make some extra money towards paying off some long standing debt and medical bills which have been weighing on me for some time now. Your donations go towards paying those debts and offer me some much needed aid while I search for a better paying job. Every donation is much appreciated! My goal is to reach $1,200 in donations if at all possible and you cannot imagine what a huge help that will be!
How this works:
The first image will be released soon! Once that happens, the goal is to reach $200 in donations before the next piece will be created and posted. Each picture will be a totally different scene complete with fully rendered background and a variety of characters in addition to Nyxis.
Donation Rewards:
$5 - full resolution .PNG file of the first page
$10 - full resolution files for the first two images
$25 - full resolution files for the first four images
$50 - full resolution files for all 6 images in the folio
*** Any donation $70+ gets you all 6 image files, as well as any additional artwork that goes along with them. In some instances this will include alternate versions of the image, close up shots, or additional asides that help add more to the story of each page. For example, there is an alternate version of the first image that completely removes all clothes from Nyxis aside from one glove for...reasons which will become obvious.
*** The highest donators for each page will be rewarded with a cameo on the next page! I would set a limit of 3 per page...but I'm not sure how to anticipate how much interest there will be in this project, so if we [somehow] have an excessive number of people donating over $70, Nyxis and I will find a way to appropriately work everyone into the project and keep things fair. [Also, it should be noted that small alterations may be made to your character to make them fit in certain scenes. For example, I can't have someone with ginormous wings in the orgy scene. And Nyxis's world, where this folio is taking place, is a medieval setting and we would have to make some changes if a character has cybernetic/mechanical parts. If you are interested in making a character appearance but not sure if your character would fit in with the Blindside universe, please feel free to ask below or note

Short Weekend Blues
Posted 10 years agoCannot overstate how much I hate closing shifts. They ruin the entire day for me every single time...especially on weekends. Not that I would be having fun were I not about to go in to work. If this were a normal Sunday, about this time of day, I would have already been out sweating in the yard for two hours. Would probably have about one more hour in me before the heat would drive me back inside before collapsing. At least then I could shower, eat lunch, and then go about the rest of my day.
But no. I agreed to work a shift today in exchange for being off this coming Friday. Which is awesome! It's just that after the long week I just hauled through and only having the one day off yesterday...Friday seems ridiculously far off. And my minutes of free time today are rapidly slipping through my fingers. ;(._.); And from that angle, I suppose this schedule change is also frustrating because the weekends are my best to chance to get some solid chunks of work done.
Oh well... That's it. Nothing more important or ground breaking to share. Just needed to growl for a moment before I go take a shower and throw my uniform on. *SIGH*

I'm not interested in playing internet police right now. I don't want to argue about whether votes were bought or incentivized in any way. Next time around [if there is a next time] I will know better what sort of rules to throw down about this sort of thing from the start.
For now though, my best -borderline heatstroke- decision is that everyone has won. Nyxis gets the 6 part series just because of the sheer amount of support she got. Just from people's comments while voting and what not, I did NOT get the impression that even half of the people that chose her were just in it to get some kind of reward. That and a surprising number of people supported the asexual empowerment theme which required some consideration and courage.
For everyone else, my offer is this: I will set a goal of $100 in donation pledges for each of the other 3 characters. This means that if enough people pledge to donate towards a given character's series...I will make it happen. One piece at a time...at $100 per page. I'm not asking for your money today. I just need to know that if I do the work, that people will be interested in giving me a little towards the high resolution files/extra art. That's what this whole thing has been about from the start anyways.
So, let's get back to the point here and have some fun. I don't want the drama and the fighting. I've had a blast with this contest [except for this yucky part here at the end] and I've enjoyed talking with all the contestants and drawing their characters. Let's just focus on that and try to have some fun, huh? ^(._.)^
Please go here to submit a pledge towards a character.I will be tracking pledge amounts and will post a journal or something when a goal has been met and the corresponding piece is being started. Minimum pledge should be $5. I'll check with the owners of each character and see if they want to offer anything for higher pledge amounts.

A Quick Note to All About This Contest! Please Read!
Posted 10 years agoI woke up this morning to find some communications that some of the contestants in this contest I am currently running, are being attacked for what they're doing to try and win. So, I felt the need to speak up and say something publicly. Again, this is an experiment and next time [if there is a next time] I will try to learn from some of the issues we've had throughout the process. One thing I can't change though...is that everyone wants to win. So, I will say this...
To those who are making offers in exchange for votes...
I understand that you want to win this thing. I do feel the need to remind you that the next part of this will be donation driven. The reason why I went with a voting system is because when a winner is chosen, I want to feel like the character that comes out on top is the one that a majority want to see artwork of. Because if the donation goals are NOT met, your 6 part series...may be less than 6 parts. So, what I'm saying is...if you make offers and pull people into this who may not care at all about donating towards seeing artwork of your character...then all of the extra effort may be a waste anyways.
To those who are attacking others...
Largely this is just going to be a rehash of what I've already said above. Again. The next part of this will be donation driven. If others are doing things you feel are underhanded to try and win...then they may very well be shooting themselves in the foot anyways. Please try and keep this whole thing civil. If this turns out to be a success I would be highly tempted to run something like this again to try and pay off more of my credit card debt and lingering medical bills. I won't be able to do so in good conscience though if it's just going to devolve into everyone clawing at everyone else.
ALSO! If it helps ease any of the tension here, let me just say this. The contest is still pretty close and there's been a huge amount of support for ALL of the contestant's characters. Once this is done this evening and a winner has been chosen, I will also extend this offer to all those who participated. If you can petition your voters to pledge a donation towards a picture of your character and reach the donation level that I'm setting per page... Then I will draw that piece. Yes, up to three pieces, if you can fund it that far. If you think you might be interested, just note me about it. Free Art Raffle! [CLOSED]
Posted 10 years agoCouldn't sleep last night for a culmination of reasons...but as I was lying there thinking, I stumbled upon an idea for something fun to try out. My current job is the pits and it feels like it'll take forever to pay off some of the bills and monthly payments that my husband and I share. It'd be great to get a boost towards paying some things off! I don't believe in getting something for nothing though, so here's what I propose... I was thinking I would hold a vote and select a character for a 6 part image series (could be a strip tease, a transformation, bondage play, progressively larger dildos, etc...whatever everyone is interested in!). I'll take a vote to select a character that a majority would like to see and then we'll set some donation goals. Once a goal is met, the image for that level will be released. Dragon Base is LIVE!
Posted 10 years agoFinally finished the first [of which there will eventually be 3] dragon base! Up next is the more noodly Chinese dragon/large/long feral dragon base. Which will be followed by a more standard 4 legged feral base. First one is the most expensive as it will contain the largest number of extra parts out of the series. Still, it's only $15 and can be found HERE!

Doesn't Bode Well... (aka "fuck summer")
Posted 10 years agoIt's a lovely 60 degrees outside! Unfortunately, I'm stuck in a building with next to no AC and the heat from the past couple days is still trapped within these walls. Making it closer to a balmy, humid 80 degrees. -(._.)-; And I could just drown in all this sweat...
So, I stand in our stockroom, trying to break down a shipment...trudging about feeling slimy and sleepy in the heat. Totally against the norm, I just went up front and bought an energy drink in the hopes of cooling off and breaking through this fog. All in all, this does not bode well for the summer, at all...
Sorry this post has nothing to do with art...but I appreciate you listening to me bitch all the same! Hope everyone else is having a better (way cooler) day than me.

I had a lot of fun earlier today working on the toony head shots. That sort of loose, imaginative style is rather appealing and refreshing compared to the standard that I normally focus on. And while I know my queue is already miles long [well, sort of anyways]... I dunno, I'm really tempted to take some slots for pieces in that style.

But, I guess if anyone wants to offer up a character or two that they wouldn't mind me borrowing for this experiment, that'd be cool.

April Update - Patreon/Commissions
Posted 10 years agoHello everyone! Sorry again that it's been so long. April has been a wash of overnight shifts preparing for corporate visits and helping a coworker prepare for her wedding. I've had far less time and energy than I had hoped for to accomplish anything creative. I had a handful of other adoptables waiting in the wings that may or may not get finished. And an image that I had been working on for said coworker's wedding that may not even be done in time for this weekend. And the month will close out with me working three overnight shifts as our store is apparently getting carpet installed throughout.
Anyways, I've been thinking of making some changes to my Patreon. The patrons I currently have don't seem to be interested in the image that I takes votes on the content for monthly. And I can sense the disappointment each month when only one person can be chosen for the second image I offer. I have an idea for a different system that will give every patron at least some kind of artwork each month. I'll take the last little bit of this month to update my Patreon page and then will contact patrons when the updates are ready to be viewed.
Also hoping to get back into full swing on commissions at the beginning of May. I apologize again to those who are waiting. I really could not have anticipated all of the different things that have popped up and nibbled away at my days. I'm hoping everyone has been enjoying their springtime though and I should have some updates to share with you all soon!

Blah + blah = BLAH!
Posted 10 years agoQuick update on things while I'm conscious enough to do so... This weekend has been one giant sleep debt pit. Got corporate higher-ups coming in on Wed, so a manager and I spent the better part of the weekend pulling overnight shifts to get everything cleaned up and ready so they can stroll around for 10 minutes, jerk off, and then leave. Last night's 12 hour shift was absolutely lovely and I in no way feel like exhaustion and death. ^(._.)^;
On top of all that, my husband was sick recently and it seems despite our best efforts, I have also caught what he had and am now enjoying the sensation of pink eye for the first time in my life [after having a sore throat for 3 days beforehand, the pink eye is almost pleasant by comparison]. Going to determine tomorrow if a doctor's visit is necessary.
March has been a real struggle for whatever reason... I haven't managed to complete any of my pieces for Patreon or get any significant progress down on commissions. I'll have something to update within the next couple days though and we'll hope that April will be better.

Next Couple Days/Weeks - Schedule Updates
Posted 10 years agoJust a quick update for patrons, commissioners, and general watchers alike!
I've just uploaded the second official Patreon piece for the month this morning and plan to spend the rest of the day on other things [icons, busts, etc] which are owed to patrons for Feb. Should be finished with all of those remaining pieces by tomorrow. The rest of Sunday and a chunk of the coming week will be spent getting some progress knocked out on commission work.
I do want to make a note though that next Sat is inventory for me at my day job. I won't go into all the lovely stressful details, but the big picture is that it will involve me working from this coming Monday till Friday of the following week. 10 wonderful days in a row... Will this affect commission work? Possibly. By the beginning of next week, I'm going to be pretty freaking tired!
All this to say, please bear with me while I make it through this busy time of the year. Once completing the remaining pieces that are owed patrons this month, I'm going to switch over to getting some work done on commissions only for a little while. Patrons can expect to receive notice about the March image poll on the 5th or 6th of the month and we'll go from there.

Posted 10 years agoI just kind of put Patreon in stasis, but never really put anything up on the page to indicate that the account was on hold. I guess I figured the lack of new content would be a clue? All along though, I've had people occasionally subscribe and become patrons. It's happening often enough that I thought I would just put it out there and see if there's enough interest for me to start it up again.
I had such high hopes for Patreon when I first started. And some big plans for new content...had a whole choose your own adventure style adult comic lined up and everything. As disappointing as the experience was, I did enjoy the creative process it gave me the chance to employ. So, all that to say, if the interest is there, I would be open to starting that again alongside commissions.
For what it's worth, I also have a printer at home now and would be able to offer adult prints of my Patreon pieces. Just a thought anyways, as I have no idea if that's even a thing people would be interested in.
