I found out about this just today and it's very important
Posted 15 years agoCOICA
In the United States, a new law proposal called The Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA) was introduced last week, and there will be a hearing in front of the Judiciary Committee this Thursday.
If passed, this law will allow the government, under the command of the media companies, to censor the internet as they see fit, like China and Iran do, with the difference that the sites they decide to censor will be completely removed from the internet and not just in the US.
Please see the following article from the Huffington Post for more information.
Stop the Internet Blacklist
And if you are a US citizen, please take the time to sign this petition
DemandProgress.org - Petition to Stop the Internet Blacklist!
Update: Also for US citizens, you can email your Senator from the following link and tell him or her your concerns about this bill
Tell Your Senator: No Website Blacklists, No Internet Censorship!
Update, from EFF's website: the Senate Judiciary Committee postponed the scheduled markup of the Internet censorship bill — a fantastic outcome, given that the entertainment industry and their allies in Congress had hoped this bill would be quickly approved before the Senators went home for the October recess. Massive thanks to all who used the EFF Action Center to write to your Senators to oppose this bill.

My Mouse Mask Version 2.5 - Post surgery
Posted 15 years agoI was a bit rushed before mfm last year. Had to finish the mask to my partial suit really fast and did not have time to give it all the proper trimming up that it needed, leaving the chin a little wide and the neck like that of a turkey. But I did some surgery on it.
Got out the excess fur that was simply sewn inside the mask in a rush before last year's mfm and now it is a bit more streamline and looks much more like what I had intended, thinner on the neck and even took the nose in a bit to increase visibility and decrease a gap that would come up around the bridge of the nose when the spirit gum would start to wear down a little
Also gave it a little bit of a hair cut around the white parts to make it look a little less shaggy. It was a little difficult but well worth it in the end.
My next suit will be even better methinks ;)

Posted 15 years agoChannel 101 is an awesome site. I've submitted to them before but there is some stiff competitiion. This is my current favorite prime time show on there http://channel101.com/shows/view.php?media_id=2897 :)
hmmm comic
Posted 15 years agoNo one really reading the comic I put up. Not alot of comments on it either. So maybe I'll take it down.
my new comic
Posted 15 years agoI began work on a comic quite a while ago that I was going to post here.
Written, drawn, and inked by yours truly. might post a colored version later on if I become less lazy and can finally decide on a coloring scheme that I want. :)
It's a superhero comic called Captain Bananaman.
Yes, I know that there are several characters called Bananaman already but there is one and only one Captain Bananaman. And yes it is a silly character but he takes himself very serious and tries to look and act as serious as anyone really can while wearing a bananamask.
Its like a satire about a dark vigilante hero who looses alot but manages to get by as a super hero, and to make a name for himself somehow. Later on in the comic.
I've planned ten issues. I fully completed the first one... twice I completed the first one actually (its a long story) and I've fully written and penciled the second issue and have almost finished inking that one too. The third one has some penciling done and both that one and the fourth issue are fully written but the other six are just in outline format right now.
Its a comedy that I do want to finish but fear I might never do so if there is no motivation and/or readers prompting me to make more so I will now start putting it up here for all to enjoy and/or cringe at, what with my art and writing possibly not being the best.
I think this is the longest journal entry I have yet to write on FA and so I shall stop before I ramble out of control, if I have not already, and just let you read the comic :D

11 types of superhero origins
Posted 15 years agoI think that I have found the only 11 different sub categories of different types of super hero origins.
The Tragic Experience Hero - They had a very traumatizing experience that suddenly changed their life forever. They are not out for revenge, but instead now just want to stop injustice and protect the innocent.
The Grandfathered Hero - Either their father or grandfather was a hero and now they are. That or they were once the sidekick of a superhero, or former hero, and now they are either taking on the mantle of the old superhero or are trying to make a name for themselves as a superhero.
The Crazy Hero - They don't really need a reason, sometimes its just fun... and besides... they crazy. Also sometimes they just figure that they are good at being a super hero, so why not?
The Revenge Seeker Hero - Someone killed someone else or did something horrible to this hero, so they are out for revenge in some form and to stop a lot of bad guys while making the world safe or whatever.
The Justice Seeker Hero - They mean to uphold justice, usually because they feel that regular law enforcement just isn't enough.
The Attention Seeker Hero - They want to be a hero for the glory, though sometimes they come to realize that its not all about the glory and attention they would get.
The Mutated Hero - They were either born a mutant, or they were mutated to have powers, or were somehow granted powers by another means and used that to be super heroic, because now they have the power to be so.
The Alien Hero - From another world and come to ours through some means and they mean to uphold justice as a superhero for whatever varied reason that they might have.
The Created Hero - created in a lab, sometimes a robot, sometimes a genetically engineered being of some sort, sometimes sent from the future also, but they were made with the sole purpose of acting as a hero.
The Repenting Hero- They have to make amends for something that they either did, or had someone else do. Possibly a former super-villain that seeks to fight on the side of good now.
The Forced To Be A Hero- Self explanitory. They are forced by some or something into a destiny as a hero, that they do not want, but most of the time come to terms with. Sometimes forced by the government to join up with a government sponsored hero-team. Sometimes they are forced by an extra-dimensional being. Sometimes by a phantom or other means, but usually that had no intention of being a hero and, like it or not, they are a super hero now.
I think that is really the only 11 types. sometimes its just one of the above reasons and sometimes it is several combined into one origin story. Those are all the ones I can think of. Can you think of any others that would not fit into any of these categories?
Perhaps an example?

Posted 15 years agowho would win in a fight if the other one turned evil,
Alpha Trion or Optimus Prime?
I know that Optimus could easily take out Rodimus Prime when he turned evil and stopped being a bitch for five seconds (the return of Optimus Prime) but what about between Alpha Trion and Optimus Prime? If either one of them had come down with that rage spore that was found when that sun went super nova, who would win?

Such a very nervous mouse tonight
Posted 15 years agoI and my freinds just made a channel 101 submission... its due the 23rd tomorrow by whatever time the mail arrives. I just overnighted it at the post office, which was more expensive than I thought, but it just makes me so nervous having the submission turned in. We just tried to make a space adventure in the spirit of Channel 101 and even had an awesome spaceship battle and the space bounty hunters fought space ninjas and it is full of drunken hilarity and I really really really hope it makes it. We stayed up all night adding some last minute finishing touches when we really should have just mailed it off earlier last week probably cause it was pretty much done then, but the added audio and effects might help it a bit.
For those of you unfamiliar, www.channel101.com is a website that has a contest for internet webisodes every month. Every month you can make a pilot, or as many pilots you can make actually, and then you submit the pilot(s) to be judged. the judges choose five new pilots, out of all the ones that are submitted, to go against the episodes that are getting renewed every month, called the prime time shows. If you make it to having your pilot shown on the site then people vote on whether they like your pilot or if they like one of the pre-existing shows that take up one of the five prime time spots.
If you get voted into prime time, then you make another episode of your series for the following month. If you do not get the votes to make it into prime time then your show goes into the rejected pilots section. But before you can become either they have to pass judgement on your video to see if it will even make it into the running for becoming either a prime time show or a failed pilot.
Some famous shows have come from this site; shows like Most Extraordinary Space Investigations, The Bu, Sock Baby, and Kicked in the Nuts. And famous stars have done shows for this site; like Dan Harmon, Rob Schrab, Sara Silverman, Jack Black, and Drew Carey to name a few.
Most all of the shows that make it to this site are either extremely hilarious or extremely awesome or both.
It seems over complicated from my explanation and might be easier to understand just by going to channel101.com actually. But its all very cool in the end, even if we don't get in, though hopefully we do, even though there is very stiff competition from the current shows taking the prime time spots already.
Still... Nervous... Mouse...

Posted 15 years agoI made a poppet the other day. made a few mistakes but I think it turned out okay and now I know what to do for any poppets I want to create in the future.
I put a little brass spoon in his head. I do not know why. I just did. you cannot see it... but it's in there.

Posted 16 years agoSo many things I should have posted about but missed out on. But I shall make a Journal entry to make up for it.
I missed posting about MFM 2009, which was really great with a big suprise ending at the closing cerimonies.
And then there was my move to a new location which happened almost immediately afterwards.
09\09\09 was the ten year anniversary of the release of the Sega Dreamcast, so I brought it back out and played it alot. Still fun while also rediculously noisy :)
Writing alot, reading alot, working with blender now too.
Then on the weekend of MFF I went to Po Fur Meet instead but it was very cool and very fun and very small :)
And that is pretty much all up to now. Also I've become rather fond of a Free MMO done by Atlas called: NeoSteam. It is very cool, Steampunk, and though its one of those MMOs that wants you to buy from its store with cash, its not really all that neccary. I've yet to do so with any of my charachters and they seem to be leveling at a good clip. I highly reccomend it :)

Wound up mouse
Posted 17 years agoSome remember me as that clockwork and/or windup mouse from MFM this summer.
Some confused me for a charachter actually known as clockwork mouse, and no I am not this man but find it awesome that we clockwork mice are not alone in the world. Here I thought I was being original :p
Anywho. I fear I haven't many pics from that con, at least not of my costume, but for any who want to see and/or take pictures of an anthro windup mouse in a suit I will also be at MFF.
Also if anyone has any pictures of that costume that they could send to me that would be awesome. My email address being ClockworkCavram[at]gmail.com
I think there are at least two pictures of it floating around on FA already.
I'm not really good at ending journal entries and so I just seem to be typing and possibly starting to rant on about nothing, IE how I cannot seem to properly end journal entries. This seems like a good enough spot to stop as any I suppose.
