It's been a fast one, and I can only hope that things have started off on a positive note! I cant wait for the convention season to come back and start making it's rounds, and I hope everyone has a BLAST.

 monstremachine again!

Got a question for you!
I am curious as to what other conventions you all attend? there has been a collective interest in finding a con that is located at a more convenient location that is central to the most of us, thus cheaper for everyone to travel to.
Now.
Having said that, tell me what conventions you visit when you can!
1-Which ones are your favorite?
Why?
2-Does the host city/town interact positively with the convention? (Is it ok to go suiting in the streets and eateries?)
3-How does the attendance effect the con? (too big/stuffed with too many folks or lots of space... etc.)
4-"Ruining the Magic". How do they handle that, emergency-wise?
What is the convention hotel like? Are there other hotel options?

This is just to scope out other options, as it's nice to get together with friends and other Clockwork Creatures.
It's been very difficult for our European counterparts to come visit AC. It is at an odd location in the US (as far as airports go... not really a main hub), and is in the peak of the blazing summer, and of course is during/around a holiday. This always brings prices way way up, and we all understand how tight money is these days.
So we're just looking for options. Maybe even a European con! Who knows! :)

We had such a great time with the Clockwork Creature room block last year that we want to do it again. So! For those of you rooming at the OMNI WILLIAM PENN HOTEL in Pittsburgh, and would like to group your room next to ours, please send an email to  inaki at inaki[at]dreamchaos.net

He will need your name and hotel reservation number. (Aka your Passkey Acknowledgement Number which would have been sent to your email when reserving the room.)

Anthrocon is only a month away - I hope everyone's getting excited!

We have been discussing another big Clockwork Creature photoshoot + eats, and probably other meetups and antics, and in order to keep things as organized as is at all possible, I'd like to get a list together of people who would like to be notified about various plans. So far nothing has been set in stone regarding when we'll do the photoshoot and whatnot, or where we might eat afterward - suggestions are welcome.

If you would like to be in the loop, please comment below. I (or Manojalpa) will be sending out group emails as plans develop. I probably have everyone's email addresses, but it would likely be very helpful if you would note your email address in your comment.

As we get closer to the con, we can exchange cell phone numbers so that everyone can be notified by text message/SMS during the con itself.

ALSO - if you are bringing a camera (photo, video or both) to the con and want to take photographs of the group (or anyone in the group or whatever), please feel free to also leave a message below so that you can be included in the photography effort. I think it would be neat to take some "fashion shots" around the downtown area, separate from the big group photo plan (maybe on Sunday?), or arrange some silly video opportunities, or any number of things like that.

In preparation for AC, I have been designing Clockwork Creature t-shirts so we can all band together and show our CC colors!

T-shirts will either be rust with black design, or black with orangey/gold design. The front will have the clockwork creature logo, and the back will say "CLOCKWORK CREATURE".

If we can get our order up to 30 shirts, they will be $12 each, if we can get to 15, they will be $15 dollars each.

Many of you have been asking about grouping all of our hotel rooms together at Anthrocon this year, so let's try to organize this thing!

The Clockwork Creature room pile will be in the Omni. We'll be checking in on Wednesday before the con, and staying until Monday.

Comment below if you're interested! Try to work out who will be the head of each room, and who will be rooming with who. We gotta act fast before room reservations open on Feb. 2nd!

No, you can't stay in my room ;)

The way this will work is each head will register a regular room, then send the reservation code to Inaki, who will combine them all and send them to the convention. Please use the standard con event code when the time is right!
