I'm sorry about this short hiatus. College is getting really hard. Im seeing pediatry this semester, which means kids kids kids. I don't really like kids. The thing is, up until now it had been just theory, but since the start of the month I have been seeing patients since 6 am till 11 am, then class from 1 pm to 4-5pm (except on fridays, when I'm free at 2-3pm). And when I get home I have stuff to read, too.

This month I COULD have done the pages, but when I got home and finished work the last thing I wanted was to draw. I just wanted to sleep (and I had to go to bed early coz since I dont have a car, I have to get up at 4:30 am to be on time) or do things that required no effort, like reading or playing pokemon.

On other news... won the kiriban thing, congrats! You¡ll have to wait till june so I have time to do your prize and still manage to pull that week's comic.

So yeah. Next update's on monday afternoon.

I have a huge endocrinology test on friday, so expect a late update. Sorry

Ill wait until friday next week for the person who posts a pic with the thousandth view (or the closest) to start working on his/her pic :)

From now on ClosedGate will update on mondays. I've been updating on mondays for a while anyway, so this is just to make it official. Why? Because that way I can work saturday and sunday mornings instead of working on a page saturday all day.

I wish I could have at least drawn the page so my brother would help and ink it, but I have my infectology 2 final tomorrow and i need a pretty high grade, so Ive been busy.

She didnt pass to college so she left for our hometownn and I'm sad :( She wont come live here next semester, she'll stay back home and come to Medellin for the admission exams and interviews...

Just when I was getting used to being with her all the time. Goshdarnit.

You probably dont care, but I'm down and had to write it somewhere lol. Also, my semester is about to be cancelled bacause local public colleges are revolting about some new law that injects private capital to public institutions.

Hello guys. First of all, I want to thank everyone who read this comic for taking their time to do so. It has been fun until now, really fun! But things have changed and I can no longer make pages as they used to be.

Does that mean the comic is dead? The answer is no, not yet.

Each page took a huge amount of time and effort to make and as I explained in the last page, my career has become too demanding for me to keep making these. There are days that I have to stay 12 hours at the clinic and then get home to keep studying. I love what I do, but I have a very, very small amount of free time now.

I'm trying to keep the comic alive with a few changes in format (like turning into strips instead and with no toning) so the pages dont take so long to complete. When Im done with a few pages I'll upload them to see what you guys think. I'll probably take the rest of the semester away from ClosedGate, to finish a few things, like:

a) Make a four months worth of backup strips
b) Organize the script so the overall story is shorter
c) Rethink all page designs so they fit in one or two 3-panel strips
d) Become faster in making every strip so I can eventually update twice a week

So dont think that because I wont update in awhile this project is dead. On the contrary, its more alive than ever.

Inking is the longest process for me. Sometimes it can take days. Dont ask me why, I dont know either. I really want to go back to weekly updates... so I'll try to get someone to help me with inking. Anyone out there?

Hey, people

Im in a dilemma. What's best, updating twice a month like I've been doing for a while now, or cutting every page in half and posting weekly?

The thing is, updating every other week has allowed me to get good grades and enjoy my social life. I can manage to update every week but I'd probably sacrifice many things I want to do like hanging out with my friends, being with my girl or just lay in bed staring at the ceiling for hours, so its a decision I've already taken. I dont get any money from the comic (except the spare cents I get from ads), I just do this to have fun and get this story out of my head. But if I push myself into doing it, I'd stop having fun, which as I said, is the reason I'm doing this. Im sorry if this makes you guys dissapointed but I already made my mind.

So, whats better? Bi-weekly updates or half-page weekly updates? Let me know what you think

Im sorry guys, I wish it dint have to come to this, but I'm being overwhelmed by my career. Probably most of you dont know, but Im studying medicine and its not as hard as people picture it, as lont as you spend enough time studying.

And thats where I wanted to get. I'll try to explain this quick: medschool is dividen into two halves: a basic sciences half and a clinics half. In basic science you go to lectures and study live a slave, while in clinics you go to the hospital and do "shifts" with real doctors to learn how its done.

Right now Im at my last semester of basic sciences, which is known locally as "the filter". Why? Because the failure rate is the highest among all semesters in the career. Starting next semester,I'll start clinics which demands a lot less time that basic sciences, so I'll be able to still get good grades, have a life and draw a page every week.

Please try to understand that my future comes first. I still have a bunch of backup strips, but not enough to make it through the semester updating weekly. So instead of going into a hiatus, I've decided to take it more slowly.

To make it short: Closed Gate will update every two weeks until June the 5th because Im way too busy with med school to update weekly, even with Backup strips. After June the 5th things will go back to normal.

Im really sorry guys. After June everything will go back to normal.

Just to let you guys know I'm still alive, and that Ive done 10 pages so far. New pages will be bigger than those in the prologue and every chapter will have a colored cover. The start date is still january the 31st and from then on the comic will update every sunday.

Okay, so the prologue is finally over. It was meant to be just an experiment to see if this would work, because Im a very busy medicine student and barely have time to study, have a relatively normal social life and do the comic. But it worked almost the entire time.

Nonetheless, Im sure you noticed the last page was a week late. Why? because I didnt have as much time to draw last week (Im on finals) and I didnt have any backup pages.

THIS IS WHY CHAPTER 1 WILL BE COMING OUT JANUARY THE 30th INSTEAD OF NEXT WEEK.

Why? To do a few things:

1. Draw at leats 5 or 6 backup strips so I'll have material to post even on ultra-busy weeks.
2. To plan at least the first year of the plot
3. To sketch the final designs for the main characters
And of course,
4. To be with my family, since I live away from home while I study

We're going to the beach on december for Xmas <3

I hope you guys can wait, and if you have any comment or constructive critique, please comment below so I can fix all the comic's flaws before the real run starts a month from now

Someone un-watched the comi on smackjeeves and it mede me sad. I only had 5 watchers so yeah, now I have 4 xD fuuuck

so yeah. Im in the middle of finals, and medecine finals are the male equivalent of giving birth, only during a full month; thus, the next (and final) page of the prologue will be a bit late, but expect it before next week ends.
