My Time Away
Posted 12 years agoWow...it's been a long time since I've been active on here. I think I just needed to take some time to figure out what the fandom means to me. I guess I just lost, for lack of a better word, enthusiasm, in it all. I never felt like there was really anything keeping me here, except for a few friends, to whom I'm sorry for my hiatus. I tried to get back into art, hoping that it would spark interest, but it didn't do much. But at least I tried, and that's all that matters to me. So I just took a step back and gave it time. And now I think I've figured it out.
So I've decided to make a few changes. First off, I seriously need to change my Fursona's name. I don't think it really fits. I'll figure that out soon, I just need to think it over.
Second, I'm not committing myself to art, or music, or anything. I'll just make whatever I want. My trouble with art is I only feel like drawing every once in a while. But that's fine.
Ok, so there's only two changes.
Taking time away from the fandom has been good for me. It's made me appreciate it more. To be honest, I almost thought that I was never going to come back, that the fandom was just a one time thing for me, but the I realized that I don't want to quit it. I love the fandom and I love being a furry. I'm proud to be a furry. And that's all the inspiration I need.

I really need to get on here more
Posted 12 years agoUnfortunately, it's been super busy this year. Mainly because I'm my band's percussion leader! I was SO EXCITED when my instructor made me percussion section leader!!!! Our last section leader was a senior, so I was chosen as the new one, which was partially not a surprise but also a giant one! It partially wasn't a surprise because out of all of the percussion section, me and our former section leader were the best players, only ones who can play the trap set, and we almost NEVER missed any band function, including early morning practices, pep band, etc.
BUT, it was a giant surprise because of one big thing:I'm a sophomore. It is SOOOOOO WEIRD being in charge of upper class men. SO WEIRD.
Originally, it didn't sound like too much of a difficult thing, but trust me, it's tiring. My band instructor gives a huge amount of responsibility to our section leaders, like sometimes he'll have us run rehearsals while he works on something else. Like for the whole class period. Which gets a lot done, but it's challenging.
That's why I've been pretty much nonexistent on here. I don't like to be!!! It's marching season and it's crazy busy. It'll calm down around...October??? End of October???? Somewhere around there. So yeah, I DO check FA quite a bit, but I haven't gotten around to being that social on it.

Back at it I guess
Posted 12 years agoThat's right. School started TODAY! Overall, it was a good first day. :)
I got to see friends again! That made me incredibly happy :P The....how should I put this......not so fun part of the day was sitting in a two hour orientation thing with the principal talking about new dress code stuff and messed up class schedules and computer usage and UGH. Yeah......needless to say, most of the student body was not happy with the changes :/ But, it's minor things. We'll get used to it.
Oh, and my schedule is totally messed up, so I have to get that fixed :(
But yeah, other than that horrible orientation, it was a good day. Me and some friends walked to lunch afterwards, then went and hung out at the library (we all LOVE the library). It was lots of fun!
Tomorrow.....more school. And more talking to the counselor about my schedule he needs to fix. But most importantly: band and friends :)
Off the topic of school.
I haven't been on here much recently, and this is mainly due to the fact that I had my wisdom teeth taken out last week. Let me make it clear: IT WAS NOT MY IDEA. My dentist recommended it. But I'm fine. It wasn't that bad, I just don't see the need in it. But oh well. Hey, I got to eat all the ice cream I want! What's so bad about that! :P
But I have to say, it's the weirdest thing when the stitches dissolve.....@.@
Also, family came this weekend, so that kept me busy.
I have a few songs I've been meaning to upload, but it takes a lot to upload them, so I've been putting it off. And I've just been lazy :) I should do that sometime soon.... Maybe this weekend???????

Happy 4th of July!
Posted 12 years agoHappy 4th of July everybody! Hope you all have lots of fun today! I'll be going over to a neighbors today and shoot off fireworks tonight! And there'll be tons of food :P
This is an unexpected surprise!
Posted 12 years agoSo I was calling a band friend, making sure he knew when practice starts for marching band, and he asked me if I wanted to be in a band he's forming... That was kind of a shocker (in a good way ) He wants me to be the drummer. At the time I was thinking WTF why me?!?!?!?! It was just a surprise, that's all. I've never actually been in a band...
Anyway, right now, I'm thinking about saying yes. It might be fun! He said that him and a friend (also in marching band, so he's my friend too) were playing classic rock songs at a small donut or candy shop and someone said they sounded really good and they should form a band. So now he wants me to be the drummer. I don't know.... Right now, I'm just waiting and seeing what happens.

I'm back!!!
Posted 12 years agoI went to Italy!!! IT. WAS. INCREDIBLE.
I can't believe I actually went to Italy! I've never been to another country before, especially one so far away, so this was brand new for me, and kind of scary. But it was so worth it! My parents and I went on an 11 day bus tour though Italy, staying in Rome, Florence, Parma, Bologna, and Venice. The nice thing about booking a bus tour was we didn't have to worry about ANYTHING. Hotels, sight seeing, transportation, tours through places, restaurants, luggage, etc. They took care of everything, so all we had to do was enjoy the trip. -)
Getting there was a pain though. We were supposed to fly from Omaha to Chicago, to Frankfurt, then to Rome. And we were supposed to leave on the 12th (if I remember right). Our actual tour started on the 16th, so those few days before was another short tour to the Pompeii that we planned. Well.......nope.
We got to the airport in Omaha on the 11th, around noon and the first thing we find out was that our flight as cancelled. :| So they put us on a different flight that would leave around 5:00 pm. So we waited. But then weather settled into Chicago, therefore canceling our 5:00 flight. Then our rebooked 7:00 flight. So we didn't leave that day.
So it was like 10:00 pm and we're talking to the ticket counter guy (he was no help) and he said the next flight we found get was on the 15th.....>:( So we had to cancel our Pompeii tour. :(
We finally made it to Rome on the 15th, after about 28 hours of airport time. That night, I realized that in around 48 hours, I had slept only 6 hours (I don't sleep we'll on airplanes).
We spent 3 days in Rome. We saw the Vatican, which was unbelievable! Hahaha, our travel director got us reservations for the Vatican, so when there was a line 12 blocks long, we got to go in first. There's a crazy amount of people in that waiting line!
We also saw the Colosseum. It's incredible to think that over 2000 years ago, Romans were using it like we use our sport stadiums.
Rome was great, but it's a big city. So that means lots of small spaces and too many people.
Then we drove to Florence. We actually stayed in Sienna, but drove to Florence each day. We stayed for 3 days. Our hotel in Sienna was an old hospital in an ancient castle!!!!!!
We toured a winery and tasted wine. I'm 16, so I'm old enough to drink wine over there, but only two glasses at a meal, and if my parents are there. But I have to say, I hate wine. Altogether, throughout the whole trip, I only drank about a half of a glass :/ It's like coffee, just worse. Oh! And I drank espresso too! I hate that too. The only way I'd drink it is if it has like literally 10 sugar packets and half milk. But then there's too much sugar, and it become kind of a sugary mud-like thing, and yeah...... Apparently espresso has the equivalent of like 3 cups of coffee....I don't know.
We ate food. Lots of food. Mainly pasta, fish, and pizza. And every single place we want to had amazing food!
We also ate at an Italian family's home! That was the best part of the whole trip!
Then we drove to Parma. One night. We stopped at Pisa on the way there. I ate pasta. It was awesome.
That night, we went to a place called San Gimingnano, an ancient castle!!!! That was the second best part of the trip! I love medieval things, so visiting a castle, and staying in a castle, was the most amazing thing!
Then to Bologna. One night. I have to say, this was my lease favorite part of our trip. But it was interesting to learn about the city.
Then we finished in Venice. We stayed in a 400 year old hotel for 2 days.
We took a gondola ride though the canals and the Grand Canal! That was so cool!
I had my first taste of American food at the Hard Rock Cafe in Venice. French fries.....;)
We took a water taxi to one of the islands and ate lunch at an amazing restaurant. The houses on that island are the brightest colors! Lime green, pink, sky blue, any color you can think of!
Then we had our farewell dinner, the last dinner on the last night, at a restaurant next door to the hotel. It was great! Fish and pasta!!!
Then yesterday, we flew out of the Venice airport. We flew to Munich, then to Chicago, and back to Omaha. Now to drive home tomorrow! We have family in Omaha, so they were watching my dog.
That was the trip of a lifetime. I'm so grateful that I was able to go to, and have that much fun, and meet the amazing people in our group. It felt like a month, but it was only 11 days. Even though this was an amazing trip, I'm so glad to be back home! I'll never forget that trip. It was truly something special.
Sorry about such a long journal, but there's so much to tell, and I only told a little! Thanks for reading, or at least looking at it! You're awesome!

Leaving Tomorrow!
Posted 12 years agoYep! It's finally here. I'm leaving tomorrow! The only thing I don't like about this trip is I have to fly....I don't like flying. I'll be back on the 25th. I probably won't be on here much, other than maybe in the evenings (not USA time, so evenings where I'm at). So....yeah. Bye everybody!
Gone for a while
Posted 12 years agoWell, not gone, but possibly unavailable. I'm going on a two week trip with my parents next week, out of the country, and I don't know when or where I'll have Internet. I'll be back around June 26th, I think.....around there. But when I DO have Internet, I'll be here on FA ^^
Then when I get back, I'm going to see about ordering fur for my fursuit, so I can start making it! I've been planning to start it for several months, but school is SO busy, and now my summer is busy! At least it's the good kind of busy.

Tired.....
Posted 12 years agoI haven't been on here in a while. I've been busy with musical practice, band and choir concerts, band trips, ugh...fun, but busy. But now things are pretty much over (except for musical). So now I intend to be more active on FA! I'm currently working on a few new songs, which i'll hopefully upload soon.
