It's been some time
Posted 5 months agoOof it's been a while. A long while.
Been fiddling around with the idea of trying to get back in the swing of things as of late. I've missed making art of various kinds, and think it's time to start again. I'll be taking stock and seeing about refreshing things to do with my page and all that, so stay tuned for more. ♡

Be Prepared
Posted 7 years agoI will be posting a bunch of my art tomorrow. I have fallen behind on posting on here and I'm super sorry about that. I'll be getting more active from now on though. I've just mostly been on DA as of late.
Thank you for your patience, though, guys!Regarding Hurricane Irma
Posted 8 years agoReposting from my facebook page...
Friends and Family,
As Irma’s arrival closes in, I thought it best to write to you all with a few bits of information to keep in mind. Though, I know many of you are not in the line of fire, a natural disaster - especially one of this caliber - can affect much more than simply its path of initial destruction. Families and friends are spread all across the country, and in some cases the world, wondering about loved ones’ safety. In any situation, it is imperative to be prepared and informed.
I currently work as an intern at a branch of the American Red Cross, and while being here, I’ve been learning and researching communicative ways to deal with crisis. Through the help and resources provided by my supervisors and the Red Cross website as a whole, I’ve compiled a few helpful links that will allow you to gain the necessary knowledge about precautions and steps needed to deal with a natural disaster. Even if you will not be affected by this particular disaster, it is always important to be prepared in case of another disaster.
I hope this information serves as an asset to you all, and I will continue to hope and pray for your continued health, safety and well-being.

My dear friend,
has lost her home to this terrible disaster, which was one of the determining factors that has prompted me to put this information out there. Another being the fact that I have my grandparents living in Florida as well as other friends and family in the direct line of fire. As I said above, I truly hope this information serves as a great tool and asset for you all, whether for this particular disaster or for another one.

Posted 8 years agoWelp, happy 23rd birthday to me I guess.
Woke up, had cereal, and am watching Scrubs till my parents get home from work this evening as usual.
On the bright side, I finally got my license...just need a car now...Shoulder Injury
Posted 8 years agoSo for those of you who are not aware, I messed up my right shoulder...which is my dominant arm....while in my lithography class printing on one of the presses.
Posterior shoulder instability, though my particular shoulder stability is not that bad according to the doctor...
Still...I can't really lift it much...and even right now, typing hurts a lot (but since I have online assignments...can't NOT type...)
Needless to say, that is why I haven't been too active...I'm not allowed to wear a brace or anything of that nature because my doctor said it'd make it significantly worse...and, though this injury is not the one I had last year (I had bursitis in the same shoulder...actually around the same time and through a similar situation...but with a slightly lighter press), this new injury is also AGGRAVATING the old one...so double trouble.
Anyway, point is, take it from me guys, DO NOT OVERWORK YOURSELF. I knew something like this might happen if I were to do the printing myself, but I did it anyway because I didn't want to fail or fall behind in class.
A lot of you make adopts or do commissions to earn money to live.
I get that. Really I do, but your health and well being is much more important.
DO NOT IGNORE YOUR BODY WHEN IT TRIES TO TELL YOU IT NEEDS A BREAK OR THAT IT CAN'T DO SOMETHING ANYMORE.
I ignored mine, and here I am with a semi-useless right/dominant arm right before the semester's end where I am most busy. Sure, I can use it. Hell, I'm typing with it now as I said. hurts like shit, but still doing it because I can't just not use it for daily tasks. Plus the ice pack helps a little. BUT, I can't do anything weight-baring or strenuous. My friends need to help me carry my stuff around, my one friend has to help me finish my prints in BOTH my studio classes, and I frequently need help lifting my arm out of shit like coat sleeves.
I ignored my body's warnings, and now I am hindered for a while till it heals, which could take months according to my doctor.
People will understand if you need to be a little late with getting commissions, trades, requests, or customs done.
Your health is priority number one, and if you communicate with the people who you owe things to, they WILL understand, and if they don't, they aren't worth your time.
That was just my little psa for the day.
There is only one of me, and there are only one of you guys too.
Take care of yourselves.
Thank you.

what's up guys!
lol very sorry I have been so inactive.
problems of a college art student. x u x"
Anyway, I am slowly working on coming back.
my grandad made me a homemade BEAUTIFUL lightbox, and I have been working a lot in my art classes the past few semesters so my traditional art is getting pretty good in my opinion. I just haven't really had MUCH to post because it was mainly for class, but also cause I am practicing traditional a bit more before going back to digital. I feel like it'll really help me as an artist.
Plus lineworking things really frustrates me. I love my digital sketches, but then lineworking is SO TEDIOUS! like good god!
Also, I joined a coed music fraternity, and am learning some new instruments (ukulele mostly), and other college classes are kicking my butt.
BUT, I am getting more confident as an artist, and am really looking forward to posting more. I'll try to post more digital work too.
Guys, I really love you all. Thank you so much for sticking with me and my inactivity. I'm very sorry.

OH! Also, Eve is getting a complete do over design and species change (and is getting designed by the lovely and AMAZING
so I'm way excited to introduce her to you all!)Help Me With My Research!
Posted 10 years agoHey guys!
I am currently working on a semester-long research paper for my College Writing II class. Since my topic is about how Japanese culture (anime, manga, video games, fashion, cosplay....anything really I suppose) has affected individuals' lives (mainly in Western culture, but truly I wanna know about anyone). How has it benefited you? What does it mean to you? And overall how has it impacted you and who you've become as an individual?
Given my topic, my teacher suggested I go on blogs, forums, and/or talk to friends and ask for their input...Sorta like an online interview if you could think of it in that way...SO, tell me your thoughts....your stories....how you feel~! Even though it mainly is for my paper, I truly am interested...I know for myself, Japanese culture has shaped me and helped me feel confident and happy with myself as a person, and has helped me find the most amazing friends who've given me the courage to not be afraid to express myself and to not be ashamed of who I am. (if that makes sense)
Thank you guys! I look forward to working with you all! ^0^ <3

Anyway, I will add the positions taken on this journal as I get them, so you can either note me or comment here to claim one!

~DreeImportant Update
Posted 11 years agoSo....
school is going pretty well so far.
I like all my classes.
BUT, this is not what my journal is about.
My adobe creative cloud sub has expired, so I am unable to use photoshop for the time till I get it renewed.
That is one of the reasons why I have been so inactive.
I kinda forgot to inform you all. ;v;
Sorry!
Anyway, I have been practicing more traditional things so I will be posting some of them at one point.
I promise I'll be more active.
I'm sorry everyone.
And I am sorry to my friends too.
I missed you guys a lot.
Please forgive me for not talking/being active much.
Thank you for being patient and supportive, guys.
Love you all!
~CubeI'm a Sophmore
Posted 11 years ago...in college that is...
Blah, I have been so busy.
Just got out of my first class for today.
Lecture hall with over 200 students including myself. :p
Sweet god, I am so tired.
I'm getting pretty busy lately, and am still dealing with a dumb art block, so I am really sorry that I have been away for so long, guys.
I have been out and socializing a ton so far, and am feeling really good about myself for once though.
My anxiety and panic attacks have died down and I am managing my ADD well so far.
I am trying really hard to get off on a good start this year, so I apologize if I am away a while longer. ;v;
Thank you for being patient and supportive, guys.
Love you all!

You Will be Missed...
Posted 11 years agoIt's very sad that this happened...
A student that went to my high school, a grade below me so he'd just graduated this year (class of 2014), died on Sunday...
My mom works with his, and I used to play with him when I was 2 or 3 at daycare, though I don't really remember it much....
He was hiking with his girlfriend and slipped, falling from a cliff.
It was about a 100 foot cliff if I remember correctly, and he died on impact...
My whole school went to a vigil being held for him yesterday night.
Even those who didn't know him or didn't know him well attended.
He was very smart, and was an honors student all set for college...
He will be very missed...by so many...
Rest peacefully...

Posted 11 years agoBlah...
I really need to figure things out.
I am not sure why my images that have transparent backgrounds show up with a black background when I submit them.
That, and my gifs won't work either. :I
I know, I'm a noob here on FA. I am so used to DeviantART's site and navigation, though, and am trying real hard to learn my way around here now.
If anyone has any tips or suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it!
Thank you all for putting up with me so far!!!
Love you all!
