In all seriousness, there is a conspiracy about the Titanic that has been going around since it sank.
Basically what the conspiracy says is Olympic got into an accident and was too damaged to sail anymore and White Star Line was in a bunch of financial trouble so they swapped it with the Titanic and changed a couple of things on them so nobody would know and they ran the Olympic into an iceberg to sink it under the name of the Titanic so that they could get a huge insurance pay out.

There are so many things wrong with this.
Olympic was not fatally damaged in the accident that happened. (This accident was a collision with another ship.) When they inspected Olympic, they said it would still sail and they fixed it like new again.
Titanic was actually under insured. While White Star Line was struggling, they still managed to do well, but ended up having to merge with their competitor later on.
Every single part of every single ship built where Titanic and Olympic where built had numbers put on them unique to those ships so they would not be misplaced. Titanic was 401. Olympic was 400 (I think). Guess what they found and still find at the wreck? 401. They found the 401 when they first frikken discovered the wreck. Trying to swap Titanic and Olympic in the middle of Titanic's construction would require renumbering every single wooden plank, steel plate, propeller blade, anchor, etc. Not to mention there are other key differences in their structures like A deck on the outside as well as the wheel house shape and several other rooms within the ships. And doing some switch like this would require you doing it over night and not having any single one of your thousands upon thousands of builders notice a change.
The route Titanic took as well as the damage from the iceberg clearly show that it was a tragedy and not on purpose. Had it been on purpose, the damage would have cut deeper than just a few scrapes. It would've left that 300ft gash that was first proposed by the courts and it would've sank faster.
A conspiracy theory like this also just doesn't make financial sense when you take into account the millions of dollars White Star Line had to send to survivors and families affected by the sinking.
It also doesn't make sense that they would even let people onto a ship that they planned on sinking. You would think that they would just sail it off somewhere to sink it with minimal crew and if they did account for the people they definitely would've gone for adding those extra life boats.
Why the hell would they just dump a gigantic luxurious ship into the water that cost them literally millions to build?
The picture that they always use to claim there's an MP were the IC should be is clearly CGI.
They state that back in these days you just did what you were told without asking questions. I beg to differ. There was a fucking coal strike going on when the Titanic was ready to sail. And I'm pretty fucking sure everyone would be like WTF when they saw all the numbers switched and that several at least would be like "oh HELL no!" and smack a bitch. There would've been a strike over them changing the numbers without telling them.
I don't care what you say about bribery. Not everyone takes bribes. And the money spent on bribes would be a noticeable amount.
A giant switch like this would basically double the cost of Titanic and definitely make the insurance fraud not even worth it.
If a ship was deemed unsafe to a fatal extent like they claim, they would be legally forced to scrap it. Even if they tried to switch the ships, they would've ended up having to scrap the one under the name Olympic. They couldn't just go "Oh! Look! Olympic is magically healed!" This was the era of great human progress and pride was in everyone's heads, so I doubt they would stoop that low to allow their pride to be ruined.

How can anyone seriously believe any of this conspiracy bullshit? There is no logical reasoning behind it. I'm an extremely impressionable person and I don't believe this shit. I've been doing research on the Titanic my whole life so I kind of know my shit here. A bunch of the shit in conspiracy theories always turns out to be something completely made up and often the people just say stuff like that for money. The latest person who made an entire documentary on the conspiracy has the aura of greed.
