I'm still waiting to hear if my brother Robert has salvaged the rest of our stuff out of the condo, but we had a talk about something.

We both want to get out of Las Vegas. Robert just wants to cut loose and travel all over the world. Me, there is nothing here left for me. I haven't got any friends, the Strip is a constant reminder of all my failures, and I want to put some miles between me and Mona.

Robert and I are talking about joining our brother Dublin in Texas. It's cheaper than Nevada and there's better chances to make new friends.

We're just talking about it right now. I would prefer to move up north on account of climate change, but right now I have to take what I got.

Still waiting to get my stuff out of the condo and it rained again! Jesus, we're in a desert and we're supposed to be in drought.

I'm praying my books are still mostly okay. I've got a year's salary's worth of miniatures waiting to be rescued. There's other things too. I am getting worked up.

Found out what happy too. The dryer upstairs caught on fire and the fire department came and put it out. But the fire department didn't check on the exhaust vent. That smoldered for a few hours before bursting into flame.

Maybe later this week or next week we get everything else out.

I hope it stops raining.

My brother is trying to get back into our condo to get the rest the our stuff. The place is boarded up and the property manager wants to trash out the units as soon as possible so they can get ahead with the reconstruction.

My brother has a lawyer and they're working on it.

Meanwhile, it's raining here in the valley and our condo doesn't have a roof anymore.

I'm sick to my stomach.

I just found out the condo where I was living with my brother Robert burned down because some laundry vent was full of lint.

I am still processing this.

I was walking a few minutes ago. Everyday now I try to walk as long as I can before my lower back starts hurting. But today I was passing the receptionist for the first time when she exclaimed, "Mr. Evans, I've never seen you out of your wheelchair before. What are you? Seven feet tall?"

Made my day.

One of my favorite YouTube shows. It helps me face the inevitable. Some assorted thoughts on the subject:

1. Mona is going to need a piano box or a bonfire on a Texas A&M scale.

2. I want to be cremated and my ashes dumped off the Belmont Fishing Pier. And I mean dumped. Take the top off the urn or plastic baggie and THROW! God knows I ate enough crab
I caught from off the pier. It's time to give some back.

3. My brothers will forget that I want to be cremated and I'll either end up in the same Potter's field as Carol-Ann is buried in (kind of okay with that), or buried next to my mother (definitely NOT OKAY with that).

4. My brother Robert won't call whom he's supposed to call and I'll spend 4-6 months in a mortuary freezer like our mother did (dipshit).

5. Getting buried is a pretty scary idea for me because if I'm wrong about God (99.99999 sure there isn't one), on Judgement Day I'll wake up naked in a huge field full of people I wouldn't like under any circumstances.

6. Mona will be there ready to clobber me for the fat jokes.

It just occurred to me that Haggis has never been seen beating the snot out of a supernatural character which is what she's about. Off the top of my head, Haggis has already fought an onryō, a *werewolf (am hoping one day to get Jollyjack to do a Haggis vs Sierra pic), a *raven mocker, a *bloody bones and more.

I need to step up my game.

Trump hasn't been found guilty, but he hasn't been found innocent either.

Breakfast at my rehab for off to a bad start. Half of my breakfast order didn't show up and what did show up was unedible. I poured milk that had been expired for two weeks over my cereal and after I complained, they took my tray away and no more breakfast.

At least I had my coffee.

He apparently died of a heart attack on the 22nd. There's not much I can say except I respected the hell out of the guy and I always wanted to get a commission of Sento and Haggis in the ring.

I just watched the video of the New Zealand shooting. It was evil and ugly. It also should be seen by everybody because folks need to know how easy it is to murder people with a store bought gun. Then maybe we can start banning the damn things!

Some weirdness last night: I use my Roku stick to watch TV here in rehab. I was watching late night broadcast news, but I kept being switched to a 50 Shades Of Grey clip on YouTube.

FYI, I'm not into tying people with ropes up for kicks. Unless it's someone getting tied up in the ropes of a wrestling ring. But getting bound up like a Spanish Bird kind of gives me the willies.

My brother bought me a Roku stick so I could watch Netflix and Amazon Prime here in rehab. But most of the time I watch Dr. Pimple Popper on YouTube.

Today was my first day on the walker. Instead of going ten feet, I went all the way to the end of the hallway! The rehab staff clapped and cheered for me!

And there's Kit Kat Bars in the snack machine again!

Today I took my first footsteps since June. I almost cried. Then I went to the snack machine and found that it was out of Kit Kat Bars. Then I cried.

Made progress with my mental health worker too... Up to a point.

I'm supposed to forgive myself for all the abuse and filth piled on top of me since I was a kid. Sounds good, huh? Well, I have zero idea of what that state of being looks like. I just want the anxiety and nightmares and self-destructive rages to go away.

I was also told to stop writing emails and letters to people apologizing to them for things I've done. I thought it was a sincere and honest gesture on my part. I just don't know sometimes.

But overall this was a good day.

But I have to be careful. One wrong step and my foot will split open and the bones will tumble out.
