Reflections plus 2
General | Posted 11 years agoI've been sitting on this for about a week not because I didn't want to do it but simply because the timing never seemed to work out.
So last week was Rainfurrest.
Obsidian came to visit again for it along with a dragon fox whom I don't know their FA name, the latter of which is living in our basement for at least the short term. RF was fun though there wasn't a lot of 'Wow' this year; one of the few being that this year's charity was Cougar Mountain Zoo, which I interviewed with back when I moved up here in 2010, and so they had a few educational panels. No real complaints though this year either so I figure it all averages out to more good than meh. I was talked into going out to Midwest Furfest in December by
Shoal-ennth and
Furian so it should be fun, though there won't be an opportunity to revisit where I lived west of Joliet for a year.
There wasn't as much downtime this year at RF but I managed to get another page done on the story I started last year that is acts as a "sequel" to The Unicorn's 2nd Mate. It had been so long since I'd worked on it I had to reread the 8 pages already done for it. I would have liked to have gotten more written but it was slow going through writer's block in a scene that leads up to m/f unicorn x dragon nookie. Maybe in a worse case scenario I'll get the rough draft done when I fly down to Texas in February.
Part of why I picked up the story again is the last couple months have been interesting spiritually. Last summer I had reconnected again with the herdbrother and sister that have been mentioned several times over the past few years. To make a long story short I let things drift throughout June due to unintential inattentativeness and then we had a rather large phone IM fight on the 4th of July that pretty much saw no contact until about 5 weeks ago. Things tenatively improved but less than a week later conflict broke out yet again and this time it appears things have been cleaved for good. I'd meant to send them a firm "goodbye" the next day but never got around to it. As that bond weakened and dissolved over the summer I have come to find my therian aspect returned (or a possible accurate word feels like 'purged') to the unicorn I was back years ago, though perhaps a little older and, hopefully, wiser. Not kirin; I mean unicorn.
Over the past year I have had someone, whom has been a good friend to me, help me a lot in what was more or less exploring this anthro bee plant aspect that was spiritually joined/implanted with me but in the past month or so has come unhinged from the unicorn to basically become something of a fursona; not unlike the anthro kirin form I spend so much time in and is typically the form I use in my socialization with friends and within the furry fandom (because honestly it has always been really dang hard to hang out with a bunch of anthros or bipeds when you're a sentient nonmorphic/quad creature- that was why I started using an anthro form years ago in the first place). Maybe the wolf is and has always been more of a spirit guide or maybe it's just been an aspect- similar to how other people use a different form.
Beyond that things in life are decent- I got a little raise this year at work and I really should start laying down plans to change my employment next year to one in a field of interest for a career; household finances have picked up a bit with my other housemate finally finding a job after a year and half; some time in the next year or two I'm going to have to decide what to do about shoal-ennthicon: Shoal-ennth and whether to come out as bi to my family and friends back in Texas if we stay together; and I think I've improved my relationship with my housemates and many of my friends online, even if some of them I still talk to too infrequently. I'm relatively happy which is not something I'm sure I could have honestly said earlier this year.

Titanfall and TF2
General | Posted 11 years agoI'll immediately disclose that I've not played Titanfall either in the beta or since it was released almost a week and half ago for the computer or the Xbox 1. I've read of a lot of people saying it's pretty awesome which is good in that sense since it's been hyped up like crazy pretty much since E3 last summer. Yes it doesn't release on the 360 now until April 8th due to a second delay but I've found it odd that for all the buildup leading to the March 11 release since then the only information I've seen regarding Titanfall since then was 1) that Xbox servers crashed the day of release, and 2) that Titanfall 2 won't be exclusive to Xbox. This alone is a bit weird since game studios are usually tripping over themselves to say how their first day or first week sales are if they're in the millions by that time (an example is last year's developers for Tomb Raider saying they were disappointed that the game sold only some 3 million copies in the first week).
Wait a minute... we're already talking about Titanfall 2? Does anyone else find this a little depressing? I mean yeah it was all but given when a Season Pass for DLC was announced for Titanfall last month but for a game that has been basically hyped as a console juggernaut equivilant of Team Fortress 2 or one maybe even able to directly compete with Valve's TF2 on the computer the fact that we're even already talking about a Titanfall 2 completely fails why 6 year old TF2 is one of the biggest fps multiplayer games online. (Forbes is already saying that the big hit for the Xbox 1 this year is going to be Kinect Sports Rivals http://www.forbes.com/sites/andyrob.....vals-xbox-one/ which I hadn't even heard of before this article)
Team Fortress 2 released in 2007 (after being stuck in development hell since 1998) on the Orange Box that means anyone who bought it for HL2:E2, HL2 plus both episodes, or for the sleeper hit Portal got a copy of it. In comparison to most online games TF2 was a bit bare when it released with limited maps and play modes but since it was packed in as a collection of games gamers were willing to let it ride. And then something amazing started- Valve began releasing new maps, new game modes, unlockable weapons, customizable appearances (it is the worlds biggest hat themed simulator), and a crafting system for FREE! The Meet the ... videos not only brought personality to the classes but also brought massive publicity to the game. In 2011 the game went free to play yet Valve continued to release new maps and even the coop mode Mann Vs. Machine in 2012 aswell as new maps for MvM since.
For what faults Valve does have the fact that they are actively supporting a game that is nearly 6 1/2 years old is awesome, especially as the norm shelf life for online computer and console games is rapidly only becoming an average of 4-6 years before the developer shuts down the game servers (this is why there is such pushback against online only games such as Diablo 3 and until recently SimCity (2013) ). The fact that EA already has set up paid DLC and acquired the developer rights to Titanfall 2 means that EA is planning to do none of the stuff Valve did with Team Fortress 2. Sadly is this really surprising? This is EA we're talking about which has rightly earned a negative reputation with trying to milk franchises and customers for every penny (Activision atleast doesn't publically announce their intention to).
Titanfall may still become a juggernaut but the game itself won't be- instead it will become another franchise and the hope is that it won't turn into another yearly installment like Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed. I'd be willing to put money down that 6 years from now Titanfall won't exist. Titanfall 2 and 3 (or goddess forbid 4+) probably still will but I am personally disappointed that a game that is suppose to be so BIG is being treated so small.

GLaDOS teams up with NASA
General | Posted 11 years agoThis is actually about 2 weeks old but I discovered several of my friends weren't aware of this.
So after a stint as the software for a Jager in the movie Pacific Rim last year, GLaDOS has teamed up with NASA to produce an educational video.

Seriously I can't make up something as awesome as this.

Possible new Star Trek TV Series?
General | Posted 12 years agoI've been sitting on this for about 2 weeks since finding out about it but I'm enough of a trekkie (which should be obvious to my friends that, among things, know I play Star Trek Online) that maybe if I help spread the word around more it could occur. A new Star Trek TV pilot is under development with the hopes of being picked up around next summer.
There had been previous talk of interest from J.J. Abrams for his own Star Trek series however he is not involved in Star Trek Renegades. While 2009's Star Trek was given a positive reception by Trek fans, this year's Star Trek Into Darkness, though being the highest grossing Star Trek film to date, received very mixed reactions so by and large that he is not a part of this is likely to gather greater interest from the community. It also helps that it features a mixture of veteran Star Trek actors with Walter Koenig (Chekov, Original Series), Tim Russ (Tuvok, Voyager), Robert Picardo (The Doctor, Voyager), and reoccurring Star Trek actors Manu Intiraymi and Richard Herd (both from Voyager) among its cast.
I first understood that it was going to take place in the unaltered (pre2009) timeline somewhere between the events of The Original Series (2265-2270) and Next Generation (2364-2370) which would have been neat as not a lot has been established as official canon during that time period so there is a lot that could be done. Star Trek Renegades is to take place in 2388, 10 years after Voyager returns to Earth, 9 years after Star Trek Nemesis, and 1 year after the Hobus supernova that destroyed Romulus and Remus in 2009's Star Trek if they plan to keep that canon.
It does appear from what I've read the possible series would be darker and edgier (think Battlestar Galactica, the Stargate series, or maybe even Farscape before the series went cosmic blackhole degree weirdness). Either way considering the only series I've missed were the Original and large parts of Deep Space 9 I'm certainly interested.

Crisis Averted
General | Posted 12 years agoSo last night with only two hours before the deadline was up a new labor contract was negotiated to avoid a strike of the four largest grocery companies in the region, which includes the company I work for. To say everyone is relieved is an understatement though the 30,000 member union was ready to strike and customers had been making runs on the stores since Friday getting ready. With growing up in Texas I never had any part in a union before my employment here (I'm a wine and liquor clerk though for the past few weeks and until further notice I'm also the acting department manager- and just like last year when the position opened I'm being asked by coworkers whether I was going to apply for the job) so previously when I heard any kind of talk regarding unions is was because they were going on strike.
Anyone whom had talked with me this month knew I was apprehensive of the strike occurring- largely because my household finances would take a tumble, particularly when they have been improving quite a bit for me the past few weeks due to all the overtime I've picked up regarding my acting position. I spent most of Sunday in a frustrated and pissed off mood over it all as it looked to be a no-win situation for me (I worked out that even working the picket line, getting food stamps, and cutting all nondiscretionary or nonnecessary budgeting the household would be unable to pay February rent and my savings would be exhausted). Granted the likelihood of the strike going that long was unlikely but the last strike in '89 did run almost 6 months. So yeah as I told a friend Sunday- watch I'm going to be all pissed off about this and it's going to turn out they real a deal. And even though we still have to vote on this new contract it seems that, unlike the US Federal Government, we probably won't have to deal with this again until the end of the contract in a few years.
I forgot to mention this in my last post but I went to the awesomest movie theater in the world while down in Texas at the Palladium (a Santikos owned theater http://www.santikos.com/). It's not so much a movie theater as it is an entertainment center around a theater. We didn't even see a movie there and we could have easily blown an afternoon just hanging out there. There is nothing even like it that I know of here in the Northwest and the prices are what you'd find at any regular nonfancy place. Seriously I'd give someone's arm and leg to have a place like that.... within reasonable driving distance since everything is so spread out up here.

Reflections plus 1 (also new story)
General | Posted 12 years agoOkay so it's not really reflections though there was some. It's more on the fact that it was right after Rainfurrest last year that I did a deep one of these. Yeah RF was last weekend but I spent the past week after it melting in Texas seeing family and friends, and coming down sick during the middle of the week.
This year
Obsidian came up for Rainfurrest and stayed with us during it and even though traveling via a canoe might have been more appropriate on one of the days it was an enjoyable con made all the better by the fact that by stapling my vacation to it work only messed with Thursday night and Friday morning. I mentioned this to
Personamaltz that for next year I have been thinking of asking him to join me in doing a panel on furry in video games, whom I can also blame for helping to teach me how to play Furoticon. It has interesting game mechanics that is for sure and I would have bought a deck if my budget hadn't already been reached with a few art pieces I purchased.
A deep itch settled in me while there (I blame the writing panels) and I have been working on one of the stories mentioned at the end of Unicorn's 2nd Mate so it's sorta like a sequel. I'm 8 pages into it and anticipate it going another 3 or 4. It will again be quite adult in nature though I don't see a way to add any tf into it as unlike the previous story this one has a plot beyond sex and transformation from sex (which may disappoint some fans of the story and the Arania art sequence that helped inspired that story 3 year ago). Heh I've been so engrossed at times while writing it that yesterday on my flight back I missed hearing the boarding call and only realized the time when the final call for last boarding sounded. I'm not sure how long it will be before it's done- I have to finish writing it, then type it up into a second draft since I do my rough drafts with pen and paper, make sure certain things sync with details from Unicorn's 2nd Mate, edit it again, and see about getting it proofread before I post it.
Some of this interest in the story may have come from a guided meditation class I went to that Saturday night at RF. It was the deepest I've ever managed before and oddly had me in the perspective of my wolf spirit. Besides the clearest view ever of details of the wolf, what amazed me even more was that unicorn/kirin and wolf were there together in the safe place I found myself in and were communicating (trying to focus on what was said kept ). As far as I was aware neither aspect had ever been in the same place at the same time or communicated to each other in the 12 years I have been aware of both of those parts of me. It was a clarifying and cleansing experience, but one I have not been able to achieve since on my own... possibly because I'm trying to seek it too much rather than let it find me.
Oh also I learned that an unopened jar of peanut butter in your carryon luggage will earn you a search by the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) when you go through security.
Final note that comes to mind is odds are moderate to high that continuing labor disputes involving my workplace union, UFCW21, will result in occurring strikes if a compromise is not reached within the next week.

The Host
General | Posted 12 years agoSo my housemates and I went to the movies yesterday but since the movie we wanted to see was sold out they went to see Oblivion while I decided to take a gamble and see The Host, which had pricked my interest yet I hadn't heard any kind of review of it or seen a recommendation for it. The book was written by Stephanie Meyer of the Twilight Saga and yes I will admit I've read the first three Twilight books and seen the first three movies due to a female friend saying I reminded her of the werewolf Jacob. The movie has not done well domestically and I think most non-Twilight fans are avoiding it out of worry it will be more Twilight whereas twilight fans have avoided it because it's not Twilight. I had the theater to myself. Personally I found the movie to have a much stronger plot and more interesting characters than Twilight (it also had more experienced actors/actresses particularly in William Hurt and Diane Kruger)
The movie starts off with-
The Earth is at peace. There are no wars. There is no hunger. Honesty, courtesy, kindness are practiced by all. The world has never been more perfect. It is no longer your world.
An extraterrestrial species has come to Earth to "colonize" humankind; implanting itself in human bodies to take over the body and overwrite the existing mind. The few remaining unturned humans are desperately trying to survive in hiding. The protagonist, Melanie, is captured and implanted however her mind survives though has essentially no control over her body and most of the movie revolves around Melanie and the extraterrestrial being inside her occupying the same body as she struggles to keep her remaining family from being captured.
Yeah it sounds like something trying to rip off the "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" but not as horribly as 2007's "The Invasion" however it's a lot deeper than that and among the benefits the extraterrestrials bring is advanced medicine, energy technology, and the knowledge of how to sustain our species without the unyielding arrogance we, as a human species, rape our planet with. It's suggested one of the reasons for their coming is to remove all the negative aspects of humankind. There are going to be many people who are just not going to like the movie for whatever reason, among them being not wanting to reflect among how introvert our species it, however I think more people should see the movie.
This journal would be better if I'd had access to my computer on my drive to work since I was deeply reflecting on it at the time. One of the things the movie made me think of is an idea I've had for a few years for a video game, which itself was strongly inspired by Arthur C. Clark's infamous Rama Series (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rama_series) of a 31 mile long by 12 mile diameter sized cylindrical alien starship. Backstory of my game idea is that aliens have been infiltrating humans on Earth for 50-60 years, slowly working their way around the world into the highest levels of governments, militaries, the media, businesses and finance, science, religion, and others until there are some 1 million aliens on Earth; their purpose to help bring about a peaceful annexation of Earth due to a highly rare mineral in the galaxy that is only found naturally in salt water (the rest of the solar system is annexed also and various mining operations are developed throughout the different planets and moons). The game itself would take place 40 or 50 years after the annexation date of their larger fleet arriving at our planet and humankind becoming aware of their existence.
Unlike almost all movies or video games, which tend to feature aggressive extraterrestrials seeking to dominate the planet or kill off the human population, in return for humans losing their right to self-govern the aliens bring huge technological and informative advances- among them space exploration and astronomy, biology and botany, biochemistry, medicine, agriculture, genetic manipulation, sustainable energy, chemical and mechanical engineering, etc.
Would that be a fair trade for humankind if we were given some similar choice irl? Would humankind be able to overcome their negative species aspects? By the end of the Rama series humankind has turned the paradise originally created for them on Rama into a disaster and wage war against the other inhabitants on the starship due to humankind's fear and greed. Are we as a species going to bring about our self-destruction or can we as humans become something better than we are? That is what I wonder upon deep reflection after being nudged by The Host and I can attest that there are no sparkly vampires in the movie either.

I apologize for my absence
General | Posted 13 years agoTo my friends and such that have been wondering where I have been the last few weeks- I had a friend come visit me from across the country for a few weeks (it's not easy to share one desk for my computer and his laptop the evenings we'd be home- particularly after both of my roommates got him into Guild Wars 2) and then work had been incredibly busy because of the holidays since my job (2 years there in March) deals with wine and spirits/liquor aswell as highly frustrating due to a coworker taking over the department back at Thanksgiving.
I only recently discovered she's officially my boss (and not my partner like my last coworker was) and as she supplants more and more of the duties and responsibilities I'd been doing since July as our store's unofficial Liquor Manager I'm starting to wonder how long it will be before I lose my department manager pay and have to take a near 40% pay cut back to grunt levels. After much frustration (which has had me even rude and snapping at my store manager) I have come to resolve myself to these changes though it has resulted in my motivation and morale in the department suffering greatly.
I was already planning on it with the new year and the fact that I'm 31 and received my bachelors almost 8 years ago being further incentive, but I am preparing to job hunt for something that I could develop into a career (strongly preferably before things get to the point where I snap and napalm blanket this bridge).
On a lighter and more interesting note I recently had a new commission done by
Arania and I have a hypothetical one in the works. I have not decided whether to upload them here or not though I was considering seeing if an artist friend would be interested in coloring it/either.

General | Posted 13 years agoSo I came across an article yesterday morning and, being a fan of the game Portal and Portal 2, reading that GLaDOS (voiced by Valve's Ellen McLain) was going to be in a movie next year by Guillermo Del Toro I like everyone else who hadn't yet heard did a double take and instantly watched the trailer for Pacific Rim.
http://www.examiner.com/article/pacific-rim-using-glados-voice
While the premise of Pacific Rim itself is a bit eh since 'Aliens invade Earth' movies tend to be on the dumb side or atleast however the humans win against a (typically) vastly superior technological invasion force is unlikely to the point of dumb, the fact that Del Toro is directing the movie and not say Michael Bay does mean it could actually be decent. Chat boards are fairly rampant right now into speculating how GLaDOS the robot AI in Pacific Rim is going to be but it's fair to say interest in the movie is certainly a lot higher with her presence.

Reflections
General | Posted 13 years agoI wanted to post this yesterday morning after I got home from work but it was late enough that everyone was ready to go for day three of Rainfurrest.
Lately I've been thinking a lot of this picture that was the finale piece to the commission sequence I bought from Arania several years ago. To be honest I love the picture and at times I feel it's the best piece I've had commissioned. The picture has become rather emotional for me- it's a very affectionate piece with lots of warm, positive feelings. But I also feel sadness from it because I know I'm not the same unicorn I was when it was done.
I am a therian (http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Therianthropy as a reference) and yes with being a unicorn/kirin some would argue it makes me otherkin (http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Otherkin again for reference).
A simplistic definition from wikifur-
Therians believe that they have an intrinsic, personal, and integral connection to an animal (or animals)...
...Therianthropy is sometimes viewed as a spiritual counterpart to furry fandom, which is concerned more with imagination than belief. Some furries view therianthropy as "taking it too far," while some therians view furries as frivolous and ignorant of the "true nature" of animals. However, relations are usually friendly, and therians can often be found at furry conventions and other social events...
...Therians differ from the furry lifestyle in that they do not feel a need to costume themselves or pretend to be their animal--they feel they already are their animal, inside, and must cope with this rather than promoting it to the world. Furry lifestylers wish to become and behave like their animal, while therians believe they already are their animal. This is not to say someone cannot be both! There are a number of therians in the furry community (and of course, vice versa). Being therian is not a lifestyle choice, but being furry is--a therian can make that choice as well.
Therians also do not, in any way, choose their animal side. Most believe they are born with it. It may take a lot of introspection and soul-searching for some therians to come to terms with their animal nature. The therian nature is not based on stereotypes (such as a wolf howling at the moon, or a lion's courage), but instead reflects the living animal's behavior more closely.
Therian nature is distinct from aspects of shamanism or working with totem spirits. Therians do not acquire their animal traits from outside of themselves, via invocation of a spirit...
Furrywise I'm actually a wolf, which may or may not surprise people that know me.
The events of last autumn can be followed to a degree from a number of commissions I had done then and as a therian they shook me hard and I view as a corruption of that spiritual animal. After over 9 years of acknowledging that part of me and intimately learning that part of me and having it as something that was always there that identity was lost. I do admit that I have those individuals involved to also thank for helping me to finally accept the part of me that actually makes me kirin. But even though it has been most of a year that my spiritual side has been a kirin I've realized this past week that I've not done much soul searching or even taken a hard look to see what that aspect of me looks like and that has impacted my human life also.
I've taken a sketch book to the con the past two days and been slowly working that out. It's terrible how out of practice I am on drawing but I might go and try to upload some of the pieces if I feel satisfied enough with them. I would also like to get an actual commission at some point and already have an idea of whom to talk to about it. I'm not sure when it will be as I've been trying to watch it on finances due to the increased costs with the new place we're in and because I am hoping to get to spend the holidays with a friend I have romantic interests with.

Update
General | Posted 13 years agoOkay so as a headsup to everyone who is going to be wondering where I am for awhile- unfortunately it's going to take some time to get internet set up at the new house we're moving into so I nor my two housemates anticipate having any access from the 6th to hopefully no later than August 13th. We're probably going to be going through a lot of movies and games during that time to keep busy when we get tired of exploring the neighborhood (no tv service either!).
On the upside I'll also use that time to type up a tf story I wrote two months ago with the 7 pages of it mocking me from where I've kept them on my desk all this time. It will be rated Adult for Violence and Sexual Themes.

Diablo 3 (ignore if not interested)
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I've played through the guest pass part now with the monk and witch doctor (witch doctor was a much more interesting character) but I've yet to decide whether to buy the game or not. Yeah the main reason I'd buy it would be to play with friends as it looks like that is really where the game starts to have strategy and prove interesting but it would be an easier choice if say the game was $50 instead of $60 as $60 seems overpriced. Granted by the time the price starts coming down my friends will have stopped playing it; atleast until the expansion(s) comes out.
Dungeon crawlers can be a lot of fun and gosh knows I've played quite a few over the years- for all its faults I honestly did have fun playing Too Human and even though I haven't played any of the prior Diablos I went into the game hoping it would be some odd hybrid in style of Too Human and something like Neverwinter Nights or Baldur's Gate. Thus it was a disappointment that the plot so far has been forgetable with the character doing all this stuff for no reason other than because the character is suppose to (maybe if I could actually not get bored watching the intro sequences and thus skip them I would understand things a little better). The fact that I could say Too Human had more interesting and actiony ways to wage genocide on hordes to help keep combat frantic and sadistically slaughterful means somewhere out there in the world someone is punching a puppy.
One of my main pauses comes from the fact that because the game is online only since Blizzard didn't want the Auction House to be totally raped by mod and hacked equipment it means it's basically MMO syle. So when Blizzard decides to pull the plug on the servers 5-10 years from now it means the game will essentially cease to exist and anyone with the game will be unable to play it again. EVER.
I think Diablo 3 suffered from the same problems most games that have an excessively long development cycle contain- it's near impossible to live up to the hype and at best they come out somewhere between above average and adequate (Anyone who wants to argue about Valve's Team Fortress 2, which was in development for 10 years, keep in mind they've continually added content since 2008). I'm still undecided on the game and I know my roommate is waiting for Torchlight 2.

Autumn update
General | Posted 14 years agoWhile I don't normally post primarily regular stuff into a journal I feel enough has been occuring that now marks a good time to do one. I do know the folks who watch me only for what work I have done or commissioned are probably not even going to get much beyond this paragraph before alt-lefting back.
I know I tabled the story I wrote in June for awhile (with no good reason- it's the same why several drawings I've been working on have sat unfinished) but I have been working on it again and if the person whom it is for is okay with it being uploaded to FA afterwards it still will be. Even if not I may ask one or two peers (Foulfrost you're one I'm thinking of) to review it even if I do not plan on it being as a big story to me as the one I did last summer. I have ideas for atleast four art commissions and since I didn't go wild at Rain Furrest and bought only an art show picture I will be starting to poke the artists I have in mind to see if they are available and willing.
It's hard to believe that I've now been up here in the Northwest for a full year. I also still don't recommend to anyone driving solo 2050 miles in 54 hours.
Also from my roommate teasing me on the number of suit panels I went to (hey now I still went to more furry writing panels) I have decided by next con I would like to get a partial made of tail and ears (and horn). I long have been interested in a suit or partial suit for my furry form (which most people don't actually know is wolf and that the unicorn part is therian/otherkin) and have even attempted working a couple times on one while I was still in Texas. I do have some hesitancy since while ones such as canines, felines, etc, and even dragons are commonly accepted I still feel that unicorns have some borderline acceptance- there is also the hassle of doing it and not looking totally flamming in the process. I fully know this is going to have be done anthro style like what I use in Second Life and try for that same "The best I'm going to get due to the complexity".
For my first con I want to say I really enjoyed myself at Rain Furrest and I'm pretty sure my roommate did also (he picked up some really neat squirreltaur pictures) even with the hassle of me working the three days. Certainly for next time I'm going to request the days off in advance since I had the fun of enjoying con around 1st shift, 3rd shift, and 2nd shift respectfully on those three days.

2nd story update
General | Posted 14 years agoOkay so I'm back and I did manage to get a rough draft completed. It's 8 pages long and has adult themes including heterosexuality, homosexuality, and beastiality. I will note that the story will only be posted if the friend it is for is okay with it being posted and even then I may edit the copy to be posted on here to be a little shorter than the copy she gets.
New Story
General | Posted 14 years agoOkay so I'm flying across country in a few weeks to see some friends and I decided during that all the time I'll be spending on planes and in airports (bah for connecting flights) I should work on a story for a friend and herdmate I first thought of a few months ago but have never made the time to put it to paper. It does not have any connection to my previous story and as a headsup will be adult themed.
Story update
General | Posted 15 years agoIt took longer than I planned but the second draft of my collaboration with Foulfrost has been completed and is already being cleaned up and editted in preparation of being distributed to two very good friends for feedback and final draft status before being posted hopefully no later than mid September.
Coming in at a current lengthy 14 pages it is going to be released in two sections. Foulfrost and I have not come to a decision on how we're going to release our collaboration as my story stands to be finished before his sequence. Granted he's basing his sequence off my story since I got so into it. I have seen a couple of the pages he's done for it and I will say it compliments the story well. I've had a ton of fun writing this story out first on paper and then on computer and I must remember to add disclosures to the story as it is very heavy on adult and tf. Stories that write themselves often turn out better than what we'd write ourselves and paraphrasing Stephen King, I was "just a passenger on the ship, rarely the captain."
I actually felt sad when I first finished writing it and so am considering revisiting a story I started last year and put aside four or so pages into. However if I finish it and post it many people will probably be disappointed to find out that that story is pretty clean considering the degree of eroticness in this collaboration.

Sequence complete!
General | Posted 15 years agoAfter turning into a whopping 29 pages (was not cheap btw) the Unicorn's Mate sequence from Arania is now complete and posted with http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4194675 as a much desired "after" piece showing off the happy couple. I wish to thank Arania again for an excellent job and for being willing to correct a few errors. I am very happy to have made my dream tf sequence come true though also a little sad that it is complete and that no more pages will be done.
However that does not mean nothing is in the works. Foulfrost contacted me after the original 23 pages were posted and is apparently a big fan also of Arania's. After some discussion we decided on a joint collaboration sequence that he would draw and I would make into story format that takes place a month or two after the events of my sequence with the female and my transformed character happening upon his human character and turning him aswell.
Already 12 pages have been written out in a first draft and 6 pages of a second draft have been typed out to let Foulfrost begin work on the sequence. As a headsup this is going to be adult rated featuring m/f and m/m/f.
This idea has so encouraged and stimulated Foulfrost that he offered me a free commission which can be found Here.

Commission in the works
General | Posted 15 years agoA long talked about transformation sequence commission done by Arania is being worked on and the first 13 pages have already been delivered. They would be posted here right now but some friends nudged me into waiting until it's complete so then I can spam everyone with the full sequence and corrupt any remaining innocent eyes out there (if that's possible on this site mwhahaha).
Oh also I believe I've figured out how to resize many of my previous uploaded pictures with a program that's been buried in a drawer full of computer software so don't be surprised or too annoyed if you see many of them reuploaded.

General | Posted 16 years agoOne of the problems of using a digital camara to be able to electronically add pictures is that the high pixel quality makes for ginormous full view pictures. If anyone knows an inexpensive way to resize those kinds of pictures I would greatly appreciate the advice.
