Well, I meant to update sooner, but yes! Me and my wife have successfully managed to move out of Texas and now we are in Pennsylvania! For me, again, but for her, its her first time leaving her home state ♥ We did manage to get work set up and we're comfortably settled for now, though work is very much shafting me and not giving me many hours so I'm on the hunt for another part time job to help make up for the slack. One cannot assist with rent when working only 8 hours a week...

Hey guys, its been a while! Well, been a while since I put up a journal! I ought to be more consistent about it, but ah, time does escape us all!

I have a bit of backlogged art to share since the last quarter of the year has been just so much. Between holidays, running around to see family in other states, running around to visit friends and explore New Orleans, and the horrendous mess that is Seasonal Affected Disorder, I have been making art and just... not posting it all on here. I have to catch up, so I'll probably dump them all today and tomorrow because I'm impatient and don't like spacing them out!

Now, I do have more happening than just holidays, family, and seasonal depression; me and my wonderful wife are currently in the process of getting ready to move! I already posted the Sale as a submission (I should have posted it sooner, but /gestures at everything keeping me busy/) so you may know but we are trying to skedaddle out of Texas as fast as possible because things for queer people down here aren't very good. We've mused about moving for the better part of the last 10 years but my wife coming out and transitioning was a big push, even before the unfortunate turn out of the Presidential Election. Our goal is Pennsylvania! The home I once had before I scooted down to Texas to be with my now-wife <3

Our lease lets up at the end of February, so I'm holding this sale until then, slashing prices on Flat Color Single Character commissions down to 75$ for waist up and 100$ for full body pieces! They will be fulfilled, even if it takes me some time, but we could really use the help since post-Holiday my work hours have been cut severely. It's surprisingly chilly in Texas right now, and its currently 90 which is the highest its been in my part of the state for a few weeks now. The good news is FUCK the heat, the bad news is apparently we're looking forward to another freeze in February and this is Texas. Oh well. For now we enjoy the weather!

But on news outside of my personal weather likes and dislikes, my mom in-law brought home a kitten a month ago that had been born that day, and orphaned. We've been hand raising her and she's the biggest darling (even though the back of my hands looked like raw beef for a while as she learned how to retract her claws...) but she put a bit of a hamper on my plans to get commissions open sooner. We all forgive Ella, because she's too cute, but I have finally caught up enough on commissions to RE-OPEN!

Hey everyone! I hadn't anticipated to have my commissions closed this long, but I've been in a bit of a creative funk for the past month or so, which makes everything move slower. Commissions feel like they're fighting me, and working more than I was this time last year has really slowed things down, but I'm still picking away at them and am planning to reopen commissions by September.

Me and my partner are still working to get our own home eventually, but considering the US and the housing market it is painfully unlikely to happen in the next year unless we hit a stroke of brilliant luck, or someone wants to donate a lot of money to our cause. I'm hoping once we get our own place I can ease out of the creative block and take more commissions more frequently again! But until then, it's going to be a slow process, and I'm forever thankful to my commissioners for being patient with me.

So, I'm feeling a lot better and have made a nearly full recovery from what was, in fact, COVID-19. It was a very unfun 10-11 days of being bedridden, fatigued, and over all miserable, but I'm SO MUCH better now. Which means I can finally focus on the arbitrary passing of time and the new year.

Normally I don't do much in terms of resolution work, mostly just having generalized soft goals, but my newest partner and I have decided to have proper resolutions and to keep each other on track with our goals through the year the best we can. Art, of course, plays a big part of my resolution. I want to draw more, which is pretty much always a goal for me. Each year I have been drawing more, getting more commissions, and doing more, but it's always nice to stretch out and reach for just a bit more! I'm going to continue to do art that I love and that is indulgent to myself, because the best way to be an authentic artist is to do just that.

My current goals are to complete (whatever that means to me) one personal piece, one commission piece, and one SubscribeStar piece per month. SubStar pieces can be voted for currently on Twitter though as I gain more Subscribers it'll be a Subscriber vote, since it is primarily for those who want to go the extra mile to support me, and SubStar pieces are posted on a two week delay, meaning those who support me on SubscribeStar will get to see it two weeks before it's posted on any other art website or social media platform. If you're interested in helping out, be sure to give my SubscribeStar.Adult a look over! You get a whole lot for just 1$ a month ^^

Since I started the year with COVID I'll be a little slow to start, but I'm excited to continue my artistic journey and to be more authentic to the art I want to create. As nice as it would be to gain followers and have a ton of interaction, I want it to be natural and have people who are interested in my art because of what I do, not just for the sake of it.

So it turns out that I had not updated my links in the document that I was copy-pasting the BBCode from, and have had broken links for... Months. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little too lazy to go about and change every single submission, but I will post the correct links here, as well as my current commission price sheet and every submitted piece today onward. Now! Onto life stuff, as I'm sure you are all excited to hear!

I've been first and foremost quarantining, only leaving for brief Walmart trips, doctors visits, and working. I did take a single vacation at the start of December where I went to Florida to visit my family for a few days, taking as many precautions as I could. Christmas came and went just fine, got a few nice things... And then hell broke loose. Fairly certain all we're sick with is the influenza (I got the flu shot, no one else in the house did, I'm recovering much quicker than the rest it seems) but we're all getting COVID tested because /drum roll/ mom in-law invited Grandma, Grandma, an aunt, an uncle and their kid, to the house on Christmas day, because Bro in-law was home from the military. No, we did not have a say in this. Cause "its Christmas!!! and [name] is home!!!"

Grandpa has tested positive for COVID. So we all have to play it safe, and cant be working... I'm desperately hoping my initial idea that this is just the yearly flu because I do NOT Want to be welcoming in the new year with COVID-19. But as always I'll keep you guys updated. Sporadically <3

Now that thats out of the way, thank you all so much for following me through this hellish year. I've produced a LOT More art than I thought and I hope this next year to be as productive <3

Man, I'm honestly so glad that summer is coming to a close even if it still does feel like I blinked and it was gone. Texas had a surprisingly mild summer where I am which is... unnerving. BUT for now I'm just gonna enjoy the rash of autumnal storms and cooler weather while it lasts. Because knowing Texas, it won't.

I'm almost caught up on my main commission queue, which means I am as open as ever! My new price sheet is up and prices are updated on as many websites as I frequent, so feel free to poke around and drop a note my way! I'm also debating doing some Halloween YCHs, something I haven't done since 2014 haha. Might be fun, though! Let me know if you guys would be interested in something like that.

I've also gotten back into WoW recently which isn't too surprising. Not much to do with the Pandemic around, so picking up old games that brought me joy seems par for the course. I'm excited for Shadowlands and for the changes coming and I'm trying not to burn myself out before it even gets here. Whoo it did not take long for me for forget to keep posting journals on here. I blame my ADD, it's way too easy to forget... A lot of things.

Anyway! It's been a while, COVID has been rampant, my country is full of idiots (nothing new tbh), and I've been more stressed, anxious, and depressed than ever. That said, I'm still alive, still making art, and still moving forward one paw in front of the other. I've already started going back to work but only because I work in a cash office one day a week, so as long as I'm masked and keep my hands clean I think I'm relatively safe. I don't think we should be open at ALL but that's not my choice, and having even one small consistent paycheck is better than none at all.

Commissions are STILL OPEN folks! Have plenty of slots because I'm opening more slots per commission type and am going to revamp how my Trello is Laid Out soon enough so it is a little more streamlined and less clunky. My prices may be getting an update, but it might be a hot second before I get to that. Still, if you're interested, it might be better to get a slot now rather than later. I've also been considering doing Icon commissions! I've never been against them in the past, I just never had an official pricing for them. Let me know if that's something you're interested in!

I'm debating doing some adoptables again because those are always fun to design and give good homes, so be on the lookout for those <3

Since I have so many pieces in my gallery right now, I'm going to spend some time going through and Archiving items into folders labelled by year the piece was completed! Hopefully it won't take to long, but just posting this here in case people wonder where a specific piece has gone <3

I'm debating starting to use SoFurry again as well. I do have an account, it just hasnt been updated in a few... years :,D

AND as of today, my Birthday is 3 days away, yaaaaay! Nothing too special, just hitting 27, but I like to celebrate just because it's another year that I'm alive and kicking, despite the shit life flung my way <3

The coolest part though is that Texas Furry Fiesta is starting the 27th RIGHT after my birthday! It's gonna be the best birthday weekend haha. I cannot wait to go and hopefully make new friends <3!

This month has been super busy! Mostly in a good way. I've been getting a lot of commissions, though I still need to be better about actually uploading them consistently now haha. I'm trying to post finished pieces twice a week right now, and post more WIPs to places like my Twitter Accounts (SFW and NSFW).

Now for the Bad Busy stuff. My cat got a urinary tract disease caused by stress. He spent 4 days in the animal hospital getting treated, and while he is home now and has been doing very well, we're saddled with a new credit card I had to get to shoulder the cost, on top of him now needing a relatively expensive prescription diet for the rest of his life. As such, I opened commissions earlier and took on a few more things. Commissions are STILL OPEN and I still have plenty of slots open for those who want to help that way! If anyone wants to help in other ways, I do have a Ko-fi that functions as a lil tip jar <3 Not asking for handouts, and this isn't necessary! It's just if people want to help out.

That aside, I still have Valentines day icons for sale and they will stay for sale till the 13th! Theyre 30$ each and you can see examples and info Here!

Wow y'all, it hasn't even been the new year for one full week and I've had to do something I almost never do: Close commissions! They filled up right quick, so I'll have to hold off on taking more until I clean out the queue a little bit!

That aside, it's been a crazy year already because I both got sick and then beat the cold into submission (all hail our lord and savior Zicam). Tomorrow I start trying to go to Yoga twice a week (not gonna lie im a teensy bit nervous about that) and now I have a full queue of art to work on! Gonna be on my toes this year, but it feels really good~!

So it's been a while. A long time. Like two years... I'm notoriously silent on my art accounts, rarely posting Journals pretty much... Anywhere. Part of my growth this year is going to be attempting to talk to my audience more on my platforms!

Part of the reason is because I went to Texas Furry Fiesta this year, and each time I go I get a little more inspired to be involved in the community. And, FurAffinity is one of the largest hubs of that community! I'm planning on trying to focus more on Furry art and Original art, but still plan to do a lot of Fanart because.. I really really enjoy doing fanart haha. But I wanna focus on furry stuff, especially my fursona and my friends because I feel out of touch with myself, and think my fursona is a good avatar to start working with!

Also, TFF 2019 was an absolute BLAST and makes me want to try DnD/Tabletop RPGs again. I always struggle with them with my ADHD but I think I can work around it I just need to put more time with it... I actually had money to spend, so I spent a LOT on a lot of great merch! I followed pretty much all artists I bought from, or got cards from, so I'm looking forward to some variety in my inbox haha.

Also have another furry OC I wanna make, a fallow deer this time <3 there's something just so... endeering about them òwó
