Yaaaaay
Posted 16 years agoI'm actually attempting to draw things now... I'm considering how to shade them. Sadly, I don't have a tablet, so my only options are colored pencils or shitty cell-shading. I guess I could attempt to cell-shade with colored pencils ha ha ha no.
Maybe I'll finally post something.
Things I'm still working on:
-Anatomy, specifically body proportions and HANDS. Fuckin' HANDS. >:( And muzzles, too, but only if I try to make the mouth open. I can't figure out how to make the lower jaw a separate entity from the upper; I'll just have to look at (read: copy) how other artists do it, I guess.
-Clothing. Just how to make the folds look semi-realistic. Not super-detailed or anything, I don't care enough. Just enough to not look like my characters are potato sacks underneath those shirts...
-Backgrounds. Less: How do I make them? More: I need to have the patience to make a background, filling it with difficult to illustrate things. I need to find shortcuts to finish those kind of tasks, because backgrounds are completely un-fun.
And, other than those issues, I feel pretty good about my art. :P I'll just have to start posting and beg for feedback.

Nek0gami
Posted 17 years agoI've decided that, to make this a more perfect view of the best of the best artwork and writing in the fandom, that I should review some of the best artists.
My personal favorite? Nek0gami. Why?
It's because his purely American style of art delivers everything you expect. Rather than giving a too cartoony, silly style of art that looks nice but is easily forgettable, Nek0gami pictures stick to the memory. Also, Nek0gami strays away from the artsy Euro-style of art that DarkNatasha employs, instead showing a professional, slick art style that shows the best of the furry fandom.
Nek0gami's art does NOT fall prey to the "predictable" argument, either. A quick visit to his page will show that he never allows his pieces to become too typical or uncreative. With the exception of his series pictures, such as the Lucario set (which will not show without adult access), he never allows himself to overuse anytheme.
Also, pertaining to the Lucario series, it provides a great artist drawing a character that many fans of Pokemon will enjoy. The theory behind the pictures is fun and creative as well, and I cannot wait until the series continues, if ever.
Also, Nek0gami's clean art covers a variety of different topics, allowing a clear, representative view into his own life. Every picture has a message, and leaves you always wanting more.
As you can see, regardless of anything personal, I am a deep fan of his works. Every piece deserves a five out of five, and if you haven't learned yet, my grading system is fundamentally different.
Please, drop by his site and leave him a great review! Trust me; I'll guarantee that you won't be disappointed.
So, signing off till next time, this is JC. That's it. Go home.

I'm back
Posted 17 years agoThat's it, no more emo time.
I'm gonna get back on my A-game, and I'm ready to go.
Nek0gami, I'm sorry, and if you're reading this, I admit, I was a dick. Please unblock me.
But, until then, I'm gonna find the best artwork FA has to offer and keep faving it. It's my task.
So, hello yáll! Let's have another great year!!!

Posted 17 years agoWell, I'm a bit sad, now.
I guess some people just don't want anything that might be critical or harsh. I love Nek0gami as an artist, but he's chosen not to recieve any more critiques from me.
I thought I could help with the advertisement, as I've worked in that industry before, but apparently some people just don't want any feedback.
I wanted to help him real bad, but now I can't, if you catch my drift. The only way his world of art can grow is through the clash of viewpoints. He should've trusted me. Did he think I was trolling?
I don't know, but now I feel like crap, just like I was warned. But, I want to help these artists. I'll just have to try to find an artist who wants something new, and different.
If you're reading this, Nek0gami, I'm sorry. I was trying to help you, but you didn't need to treat me this way. I guess our paths shall not meet again, so good luck. Your world is closed. It won't be growing anytime soon.
I'll be picking a new artist soon. Any suggestions? I'm thinking Blotch, but man, he's incredible. I don't think I can critique that. I don't see enough art like his.
Well, one down.

Eat it!
Posted 17 years agoOkay, I've been thinking.
There are a lot of good artists on FA, and bad artists, but no one is giving any critical reviews.
Time for some hell.
An art site like this should have a much better reviewing system, and "I came" certainly doesn't count, so from now on I'll work harder to critically review artists and writers. For your benefit, of course.
So artists like Blotch, Nek0gami, and Adam Wan...
I'm coming for YOU.

An FA Guide to the Wii
Posted 17 years agoSo, yeah, it's pretty empty here.
Anyway, there's a few basic things everyone should know about furs with Wiis:
1. Rtf, doc, exe and pdf file types, as of today, don't work at all with the Wii. So it's always appreciated when you use .txt format, or if that bothers you, a link to an external site [*cough* Yiffstar] also works.
2. Typing is all on an on-screen, hard-to-use keyboard, so even leaving this post takes a lot of patience. Expect extreme shortness.
3. If you want to e-mail a Wii user, you'll have to leave a comment, and your e-mail so said Wii-user can add you. It's really nice to have someone to chat with on this infernal thing.
4. If you're going to post something [Flash] please, PLEASE watch your memory usage!
The reason I'm stuck on this... white trash... is because I'm staying with m'parents until I go to college, and getting one o' those nice, shiny laptop cards for the Internet would look mighty suspicious. They've got that wonderful "furfag" bias; perhaps because of my below-18 "actions." *sigh*...:]
So, be Wii-friendly! For all [1] of us Wii-only-furs!
Peace, love, and all that jazz.
