Deleting Patreon (Moving to Ko-Fi)
Posted 3 years agoJust letting you guys know I've decided to delete my Patreon and move all donations to Ko-Fi.
I don't have projects anymore and I don't like not being able to upload art right to my art accounts. I hardly make any money from it. I get bigger tips on commissions haha. It used to be a place for me to upload stuff I didn't feel comfortable uploading to the public. Obviously that has changed. I also don't advertise it but that's because I don't upload enough there for me to say "HEY LOOK AT THIS wink wink."
If you're currently pledging to my patreon, I suggest removing it or asking me for a refund if the payment has transacted. Otherwise, you're free to go to my Ko-Fi and donate monthly there or every so often if you want to support my art! Again, I really appreciate all my supporters and people that like my art. I've just been tired lately and having to upload art everyday for only a few people is tiresome.

Twitter/Fiancé Update
Posted 3 years agoJust posting it again to say that I'm more active on Twitter and usually post stuff late on FA!! So if you have a twitter account, I suggest following me there too (but I will always post my art to FA especially since Twitter is kind of crap for artists. I still love my FA audience).

Another short update on my fiance's arm situation. The mood has been lackluster since he still has pain and the insurance company doesn't want to pay the 20K bill for his surgery. Says it's his motorcycle insurance's job to pay so he needs to contact them. No rush on that since he doesn't have to pay until his arm is healed. His medical leave time ran out so we talked to the doctor to get it renewed and we need to wait a week to see what the insurance company says. HOWEVER that means he needs to go back to work but when he did, they sent him back home. Said he's not allowed to come in injured but he can't get paid without work or the medical leave... He has 2 weeks of vacation/sick time (his work actually stole all of it btw even though they're only suppose to take 20% of it while on leave) so we will wait and see if we can get the insurance company to renew the leave by then or maybe his other workers can donate some of their vacation time. His workplace has fired people for less. Someone got blinded in one eye off work and they fired him after the his leave ended. My fiancé was talking with his boss and literally said that if they fire him, he will whistleblow all the shit they've done and not care what other work places will think of him after. Or sue them at least (they were sued before for stealing vacation/sick time). His boss was all for it lol. His boss also told him to his face that his higher ups wanted to fire him. He's trying to make a compromise with them but idk he can't really do much. So yeah, the mood is not good. Also the mortgage company just told him he didn't pay last month even though he did. They changed companies but the letter he got said any next payments will be automatically sent to the new company for the next two months. HUH WHERE IS IT? WHERE DID THE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS GO??? He paid this month just fine with the new people. Another thing to figure out ah.
Physical therapy started!! It seems to be helping idk. He has a lot of scar tissue built up in his arm that needs to break loose. $75 a week and that's with insurance... But it's not forever at least.
I got my fiance Kirby and the Forgotten Land and a plushie for his B-Day :) It's funny, we were talking about the Kirby bosses and said they should make a remake on the switch for one the games and THEY DID. They literally just announced a remake LMAO

Vacation+Update
Posted 3 years agoJust posting an update saying I'll be away next week for a full week on vacation! My fiance's mom is taking us to Maine and we are also taking a boat to Bar Harbor later. Mostly for sight seeing and hiking (though we are excited to eat the food there too).
With my fiance's arm the way it is, we haven't been able to do anything this summer. Speaking of which, his arm is still in a lot of pain. Tissue has formed over his inner scars so his arm is locked up (he can't lift it very high) so he has to get physical therapy. They said his insurance should cover it. His friend who also recently got surgery got that and he said it helped a lot with pain so fingers crossed it acts like a miracle for us.
If you don't see any art or commission updates from me till the beginning of September, it's because I'll be away. Thank you!

Surgery Update!
Posted 3 years agoUpdate on my fiance's surgery! He got it two days ago and it was successful!! But he is going though a lot of pain right now since the numbing agent wore off. He explains that it feels like someone is shoving glass shards into his arm muscles and then twisting his arm all around his body. He also says that every touch feels like someone is prodding a knife into his arm slowly. He basically woke up screaming yesterday due to the sudden pain. Apparently the healing process is 10% healed a month. :[
If anyone has had major surgery before and has any advice as to how to deal with the pain or go on with everyday activities, we'd really appreciate it! The ice pack they gave is too heavy so he's using a machine that transfers cold air to a attachable pad. He doesn't know how he's gonna be able to change clothes or shower without lifting his arm up. And the doctors still refused to give painkillers (unless it's advil).
ALSO my drawing tablet is dying... The hole where the usb plugs into is messing up the connection. I basically have to hold it in place to draw and it will be $100 (with shipping) to get it replaced. *UPDATE: WAA THEY JUST PUT IT ON SALE -cries-

UPDATES:
I've changed my prices again, mainly because I feel more confident every month to make them realistic. Though I don't consider myself a popular artist so I can't say I know how far I will ever set them to. But I've also added an option for partial payments! If you want a commission and the total is too high to pay (ex. $200), you can pay half and then half later (preferably in the same month). I have to TRUST that you will pay on time though, and I won't accept offers from just anyone. There is a new page on my website for Sugimori/Pokemon styled artworks and Bojack Horseman icons are available on every commission opening now! Because I get asked too many times when they will open lol
ALSO Googly Eye Pride icons are available and any Pride related commission (including couple drawings) gets 15%+tips donated to the Ten Oak Project, a 2SLGBTQ+ summer camp program in Ottawa Ontario :)

Life Update
Posted 3 years agoJust a small life update since I've becoming more active on my Twitter than FA.
I'm doing good but two weeks ago my fiance got into a motorcycle accident and ever since then his arm has been messed up pretty badly. No broken bones but after getting back from the doctors again today we found out he might have torn a tendon. He can hardly move his left arm (he's left handed btw) and has a hard time even lifting it slightly. He's gonna make an appointment to get a MRI scan but a special one where they inject dye into his shoulder to see the scans better. We're hoping it's a minor facture but if it's big, he will have to get surgery.
Something like this actually happened once before! He hurt his knee real bad after falling on it and had to use a cane for almost 2 months bc he couldn't walk. The doctors said there was nothing visible wrong but we think his knee just healed wrong and even now he still has minor issues with it.
He can't work now, on medical leave. It's dumb, he has a job where he just has to sit at a computer but they won't let him work because they said it counts as "heavy duty." They're afraid of it looking bad on them. They won't let him work from home either so now he's gonna get less in his pay until he gets better which could be a few months... I already spend my money paying for groceries but if it's bad I can always help with other bills too.
I was suppose to go back to Canada soon but I can't now that he's injured. I also got word that my dad went to get surgery recently to get a tumor removed and he had a heart attack during it. He's fine now though!! He has a lot of pin sized holes in his stomach area patched up because of the surgery. Maybe it's good I didn't get plane tickets yet, I wouldn't have a pickup ride. I hope they both recover soon.

Commission Updates
Posted 3 years agoHi just wanted to update people on the Bojack Icon commissions and say I'm going to try to get all or at least most of them complete this week.
My eczema (or whatever shin condition I have) has been flaring for a couple months and when I went to the doctors again, they weren't very helpful. I have a appointment with a dermatologist this week so hopefully I can get this sorted out. I never went before because they usually need health insurance and I don't have that. But we found one that doesn't need it! This morning has been bad, I cut a lot of gashes onto my arms due to itching to the point of needing gauze to cover it. It's on my wrists also so it's hard for me to move my hands. My neck and face also itch now but they don't have any cuts thank goodness. I hate having to be itchy everywhere 24/7.
Sorry for never mentioning this before. I absolutely hate having to keep making excuses when it comes do finishing the last of my work but I'm just really down right now. I fear going to bed because that's when I itch the most. If I don't have anything to do with my hands, I scratch. It usually takes an hour for me to fall asleep so ya' know. I just slept most of today bc I was in so much pain that I couldn't move my arms so I just didn't get up. I'm sorry for making excuses or worrying anyone. I'm opening commissions again! I know I still have 2 commissions left to finish but my fiance just paid off the mortgage + some bills so we only have $100 to last till the next paycheck. He also just got his car back from the mechanic (we waited more than a month for that) and he might have to take it back. The engine keeps vibrating so I feel like they messed something up. Hopefully it won't cost much a lot.

I'm not open to any painting stuff right now but if you want something else that's not listed on the site, don't be afraid to message me! I've also increased my prices a bit. Still a lot cheaper than most artists I see on this site but I'm moving up slowly. I don't consider myself popular enough to really increase it too high but I don't want to stress my self out.
Also, my fiancé has been getting hit with a lot of financial trouble again and we'd really appreciate the hand! His car has been in the shop for 3 weeks now and he might have to pay over $2000 for a replacement part (his steering broke completely. He had to manually push the wheel to drive it there). I'm Not Dead!
Posted 3 years agoAgain another hiatus has befallen my social media and it is my fault. I've still been unmotivated and my depression only kept increasing. I thought I was done, that I could go back on track but I just fell back down. I abandoned my social media, my patreon, and stopped looking at my messages. Everyday I kept saying to myself that I would go back on and start interacting again but it never happened. I would get paranoid to how people would react or get negative thoughts about myself. Like believing my art wasn't worth anything or I wasn't worth anything. And it is my fault for not coming back sooner. I don't want to go more into it because it's just repeat thoughts what I wrote last time or whatever other times I've wrote with similar aspects.
But I'm getting motivated again. I'm gonna post comics again and sketches and commissions. I'm gonna message commissioners and show them updates of what I've done so far (yes I've still been working). I used to get stressed on what "Daily Art" I was gonna make and feel bad for not uploading it but I've decided that I'm only going to post the comics and only do that maybe once a week or whenever I feel like it. I only started the series because I DIDN'T have commissions or art to draw and I wanted to improve my skills. Now I have commissions and projects and a Patreon and constantly drawing everyday. So only so often I'll post that stuff. I'll still make fanart but whenever I feel like it. I also wanna draw my own characters more and I kind of had a funny comic layout I wanted to do with two of my characters when one asks the other what's on their mind and the other replies with something super nonsensical or a really obscure fact and the first character has to just shrug it off or react. And that will just be a funny thing to show my character's personalities and give some dumb thoughts. I plan on using those characters a lot more for stuff which is why I wanted to do the comic. I'm also going to make a NSFW Twitter for my NSFW art since I wanna post non-furry stuff there. Just lots of ideas popping through my head, bouncing around like a DVD player screensaver.
Anyway, in short I have stuff to upload and I'm going to be more active. Not try, will. I will also open commissions soon. I've increased my prices and changed the layout to parts of my site to look more straightforward (it's a lot cleaner). Another also, I wanna open rude Valentine's cards and dating sim YCHs for Valentine's day as well as an animated version. Does any of that sound appealing?

Apologies for Hiatus
Posted 4 years agoI just wanted to apologize for not being active on social media and private messaging. I've not been feeling very mentally well. I don't really know how to describe it but whatever I've been feeling shouldn't be an excuse for the lack of work I've been doing. I owe a lot of art and I still need to work on commissions. Not to mention I have not been looking at my messages or my social media in general.
I've been feeling extremely unmotivated and procrastinating. I don't know how I got into this slump but I've been in it for maybe 2 months now and I need to get out of it. Everything I do seems to me leading into not doing anything productive. I haven't even been putting that much effort into my cooking. I've been staying up for multiple nights so I could do extra work but It still hasn't made me do much. I don't know, every time I begin doing something (work, art, games) I lose interest an hour or couple hours later and just distract myself with YouTube or house chores. I feel terrible for doing so but me feeling bad only adds into me not doing anything. I keep saying that I'll get to it or I'll do work but again I lose track of time procrastinating. I have literally never done this before or at least if I have I don't remember so I don't know how I'm going to get out of this slump. I am beginning to realize how bad it is and am ACTUALLY doing some work (I just finished some sketches and a couple commissions) but it is a slow process.
So again, I apologize for not updating you guys sooner. I'll message everyone who I have updates for on commissions and show what process I have so far on them. I apologize to Patrons because they haven't been getting their monthly art and if any of you want to unsubscribe, you are always free to do so or even get a refund personally from me if you came to my Patreon specifically for it's content. My only goal at the moment is to get at least some process done on at least one commission a day or make some sort of sketch. I am open to any criticisms or advice people might have for me.
I also forgot to close commissions during this time so they are closed now. Uh on a more positive note, I love the Pokemon presentation that was uploaded today and SUPER hyped for the PKMN Diamond/Pearl remakes!! Also the Arceus games looks dope af asdfghjk. Fukin Breath of the Wild treatment over hear x_x

Update on Skin Condition
Posted 4 years agoUpdate about the cuts and dryness that has been plaguing my skin! I couldn't go to a dermatologist because most of the doctors around here need some sort of heath insurance and my fiancé's mom did not want to drive all the way to our new house. No problem though, I was able to go to an emergency clinic nearby (right down the street lol).
They looked at me and told me exactly what I needed to fix myself! At least I hope it can fix my issue. I think living in the old house for a year REALLY messed up my body's way of protecting against allergies. I forgot the terms the doctor used but my body is basically producing too many things to counter against the stuff I'm allergic to and is causing my skin to flare. I guess it's still flaring because I've still been cleaning mold and dust off of stuff and haven't been treating my skin with the right treatments. I'm going to get the medication today and hope that it will start clearing up by the end of the month. I was worried about it being a disease and it was close to being one if I had any joint pains.
I'm happy! I know now that it is allergies and it can be dealt with. I was getting really distressed and depressed because of all the dryness and pain. I can't even make breakfast without my hands stiffing from dryness. I should have just gone to a doctor in the first place. I'm just so uncomfortable with my doctor that I didn't think it would be different with another. I'm not used to friendly greetings or eye contact. Plus my doctor gave my dad permanent stomach damage...

Getting Back on Track
Posted 4 years agoInternet is set up, all the boxes are been cleared (besides some heavy ones that we need help with from friends) and the cats are adjusted nicely! The move was a success and we're getting used to everything. There's a lot of cool places around here to check out too but we're not gonna explore much since Covid is still active (we've only gone to the grocery store and the Farmer's Market once so far).
I'm going to get back to commission work and finish what I have in my queue. I also have to catch up on my Patreon art. What I'm working towards is getting a schedule up and maybe even get back to daily art! I'll have to organize some sketches beforehand. It's nice living in a modern house. So much nicer than my parent's house or my fiance's old house.
Also, I mentioned awhile ago that I had some extremely dry skin and it got better at one point but now it is worse. I'm hoping to get some more creams since I'm running out again (1 tub usually lasts a month or less). I wish all these creams weren't like $30+... and I can't just get moisturizer either. The cuts I have burn with most creams so I need to find something that has medical ingredients. I'm trying "wet wrapping" now (wearing wet cloth gloves on top of cream) but my skin still dries out. Sorry, just wanted to rant about my discomfort.

Move Update!!
Posted 4 years agoPosting a quick update on the move: EVERYTHING HURTS. Everyone who helped is sore and complained and there was so much stuff. We could not even get all the furniture.
My fiance's mom got the SMALLEST Uhaul truck so we had to make like 15 trips, 40min back and forth each. She also complained a LOT and tried to go home multiple times bc she considered it a waste of her time and money. She is also the only one that can drive the truck btw.
And I forgot to mention the best part. We found out the old house was sold in a foreclosed auction and on Tuesday the buyer is coming to TEAR DOWN THE HOUSE. We got NO eviction notice so what would have happened if we were still there? Today is the last day to get stuff from the house. No truck either, just my fiance's car and 1 friend to help. We can't bring the furniture so all we can take now is some minor stuff. Antiques left and handmade furniture will all get destroyed tomorrow.
On good news side though. The new house is a breath of fresh air. Even the cats aren't scared. Boxed are piled everywhere and I have bags of clothes to look though. We're gonna have to unpack EVERYTHING, clean it all of dust and ashes and repack what we don't need.
Internet isn't set up yet. He will have to call them this week to get an appointment. Im just using limited data for now. We gotta rebuild furniture as well and hang pictures.
I am very tired and my fiance still has to got to work at 4am everyday. So please do not ask me for art right now. As soon as everything is finished, I will get back to schedule.

Hey again! If anyone has seen my Twitter, I posted an update saying my fiance and me might actually be moving this weekend. it's confirmed, we are getting out of here (finally)! A family member of his mom's if giving some free chairs and a couch (they're getting new ones) and his mom is renting a U-Haul for that. She said we might as well move everything from the old house and his rented storage shed to the new house so we're going to be BUSY that weekend.
Also, the internet is not set up yet at the house so if we can't get a appointment by Sunday, I'm letting you folk know I won't be able to update on commissions or messages until it is set up. We have mobile data so that will be the only internet we have for the time being.
So to retaliate, please don't get upset at me if I can't answer any messages after the weekend!! I will be busy this week but I will still be working on commissions before and after the move. I'm very excited!!
Anyway, in terms of other updates, I've changed my website and commission forms slightly. Few price changes with sketches, toonies and stickers but otherwise everything is the same. I've also made new examples for CartoonyVS.Semi-real art style and backgrounds! I'm also thinking of opening Bojack Horseman icons soon because I feel like it.

Feeling Unmotivational

Sorry if I haven't been posting content. Been feeling unmotivational and I can't focus bc I've been experiencing super bad rashes and itching. Probably due to stress. I literally wake up with gashes because I scratch myself in my sleep it hurts so bad but I can't stop. I'm trying to restrain myself. I bought like $80 of ointments, cream and even arm coverings to help. I try to draw to ignore it but the gashes on my arms and fingers slide around on the desk and makes it hurt more. But I need to draw since it's my job. And I can't shower everyday since my fiance's old house doesn't have a working bath and we haven't found anyone to help move yet (we go there once a week to shower/laundry). Also mice ate my oatmeal bath soap asdfghjjk
I forgot to mention I have very dry skin too, like extremely. I think the cold could be making me more itchy since my skin cracks and causes cuts which then scab and make me itch. I had a suggestion to also try a new clothes detergent in case I'm allergic to the one I'm using so I don't know the cause.
If anyone has dry skin or has had itching problems I am open to advice!!
On a more positive note, I'm developing a fun project for myself. I've been thinking of a Canadian Fakemon region and I'm super excited! I made a few designs and I really like them. Once their finished I will post them online (WIPs will be on my Patreon). I've got the player trainers done as well as the professor and the assistant (possible rival?). And the starters are almost done. Your only hints on them are that they are a water beaver, fire moose and a grass type wolverine.

Not Doing so Good
Posted 5 years agoFor the last bit of October and the beginning of November I'm been pretty un-motivational and now something else has come up. My fiancé didn't see this before but we got some new bills on the new house that will make it very difficult for us to pay for a moving truck and get moved in there. My fiancé thought he was paying the bills but apparently it was something different and the bills have racked up (which is dumb because we're only there to do laundry or shower while moving stuff). Not to mention he apparently owes over a thousand dollars for taxes?? The taxes on the house are suppose to be tied into the mortgage but according to an email he got it might not? Even if it was not tied into mortgage, it's way to high for the amount of time he's been there! He's sure that the previous owner did not pay the last of their taxes and now it's on the house. We also get various mail for the previous owner as well so we can't tell what counts for us or the other folk.
With the bills and taxes, we also have a $150 lawn service fee to pay because we weren't around to get the weeds cut (luckily it's colder now so no grass trouble now). My fiancé's lawn mower broke a while ago so we don't have means to cut it ourselves. If you're wondering how we can afford the other house is because the house we're currently staying in (and has most of our storage) is in foreclosure but with Covid, no one is allowed to get evicted so we can stay here until we get everything moved. Trust me though, we WANT to get out of here, but we have to see how available our friend is to help.
If the tax thing is correct and he does owe them that much, we'll owe almost $2000 dollars... That's more than all his work pay for this month. I even gave him a couple hundred to help. We won't have money for groceries so we'll have to limit what we have right now.

Sorry for Lack of Updates
Posted 5 years agoHey, apologies for the lack of updates! I've been working on getting stuff packed for the new house since winter is not to long away. We can't stay in the old house with the roof damage. If it snows, it could topple the building. We already had some of the ceiling collapsed from heavy rain.
We've been trying to move for months but we can't find any friends to help. Moving services are too expensive and my fiancé's friends say they can help once they have the time (though they never seem to have any). Plus they were going to give away one of their couches to us for free so they have to get that out at some point.
