Last Week of the Old Year and a Question about Conner
Posted 12 years agoWell, that was fun! Managed to get through all twelve pics without too much of a problem! I may have to do something similar next year. Meanwhile, there's only seven days left until we start 2013 and I spend the next two weeks writing 2012 on everything that needs a date. You guys know what I'm talking about, right?
Anyway, I've been considering this next question for a long time now, but I'm curious to see what my watchers have to say about it... In my last doodle, Conner's pretty big, right? Well, it seems to me that quite a few people think of him as about that size, anyway. So... what should I do? Keep Conner as a skinny raccoon that sometimes gets large? Or make that largeness his default look? Keep in mind that I do still like the thought of him going on action-y adventures, but who's to say a big guy can't be badass?
GillPanda's proved that enough. So what say you?
Ah, and something that just occurred that I thought everyone should know, :icon FenBlack: was sweet enough to insist he pay me ten dollars for the art I drew. As I'd mentioned, the art was free, but this struck me as awfully nice of him and makes him deserving of an extra orange or something in his stocking this year. Maybe I should set up some sort of 'donation jar'?
Oh, and before I forget, <insert generic holiday well-wishing here>!

Semi-Secret Santas (Redux) (FREE)
Posted 13 years agoHaha, okay, okay, I get it. I forgot not a lot of people have money to spare for the holidays, which has got to be why I've only had one person take me up on these $10 commissions, right?
So, they're now FREE! Woo. It's just an excuse to doodle, anyway.
NEW RULES:
-Twelve slots available.
-First come, first serve.
-Comment below if you want in. Give me one or two characters you'd like to see, and references if available. They can be your characters, a popular character you like, or someone else's character! (What a nice gift!)
-The theme of these pics will be entirely up to me. I'm doing this for free, after all!
-This is also being posted on DeviantArt, so these will likely go fast!
-The pics will be posted starting Dec 14

Semi-Secret Santa Commissions!
Posted 13 years agoI know, I know. I said that commissions caused me anxiety, but I've been feeling pretty good about how I've been managing my art, and think I can open myself up for a dozen for the holidays, so here we go!
RULES:
-The commissions will be SINGLE-CHARACTER and COLORED for $10, and will be holiday-themed, but their specific nature will be a secret (hence the title)!
-There are TWELVE available slots.
-You have 48 hours to elect yourself for TWO specific slots (1 and 6, 9 and 12, etc). This is important!
-I will select the winners (at random) for each slot on the NIGHT OF THE 10th.
-If you are selected for one commission slot, you will be disqualified from your second choice.
-Once you are selected, get back to me ASAP with the character and reference (and also the money through Paypal, por favor!)
-If you don't get back to me, well, Santa will put you on the Naughty List for wasting someone else's opportunity! And put coal in your stocking, probably.
All clear? Good! Then let's go-ho-ho!

I Return
Posted 13 years agoFinally! MWFF was a blast, especially because I met so many friends! I'm sure there were more people I knew there, so if we missed each other, sorry about that. Had plenty of fun, though, ate good food, laughed at the Fursuit Games, (totally boosted my 3DS Mii population), and spent a great deal of the con debating the idea of getting a fursuit myself. So expensive, yet it looks like they're so fun to wear! Would getting a suit inspire me to go to more cons? or would I only end up wearing it once or twice a year...? I better think it over a couple weeks from now, once I'm off the con-high.
And just one more friendly reminder to everyone who got a doodle: send me a scan, and I'll make it pretty for ya!

I'm not -that- popular!
Will you have art in the Art Show? General or Adult sections?
Who would actually pay money for my stuff, seriously?
Do you do free art?:
I like doing free sketches for friends, sometimes! And heck, sometimes I'll even be nice and ink and color the thing afterward, if you send me a copy!
Do you do trades?:
Hey, trades are cool. I'd be flattered if someone doodled my characters.
Do you do badges?
It's not an official thing, nope. But I suppose i could if someone asked nicely enough.
Do you do commissions?
See the whole 'who would pay for my stuff, seriously' comment above. I don't need the money and find commissions to be stressful, so sorry, only free art for you! I know, it'll be hard having to find someone else to throw your money at.
Can I look in your sketchbook?:
Sure, just ask! I have a few, but the art you see here and... elsewhere. Just don't spill coffee on the paper, or something.
Can I draw in your sketchbook?:

Are you taken? Are you looking for a 'mate'?:
Taken? Taken where? No, I'm not typically the social one, so no boyfriend, or anything (yes, teh gay). It's a nice thought, though I'm not actively looking. Just gonna let things happen and -- wait, what, is this suddenly a dating questionnaire?
Are you nice?
Well, yeah, I'd like to think so. I mean, I smile a lot? I don't kick puppies? I'll hold the door open and sometimes buy someone a meal? I have no plans to spread a zombie virus? What defines nice?
Are you cliquey?:
Cliquey? Me? Those are those clubs-that-aren't-officially-clubs, right? I never did like excluding people.
Can I talk to you?:
Well, yeah, of course. I am both capable of listening and talking back in kind!
Can I hug and/or snuggle you?:
Whaaaaat? You mean out of the blue? I wasn't told there'd be hugging at this event! Why does everyone have arms?? but seriously, I'll accept a hug if I know you and you've showered!
How can I find you?:
Well, like I mentioned, if you want to contact me, send me a note here and I'll give you my tezt-number.
Do you attend parties?:
Ooh, I like Range's idea of attending pizza parties. Save a slice or two for me!
Can I visit your room?
Are you stalking me? Am I gonna wake up in the midle of the night to hear heavy breathing under the bed? What's with the open arms? YOU'RE TRYING TO HUG ME AGAIN, AREN'T YOU. um, invitation only!
Can I buy you drinks?:
Sure! I love to drink... lipton or brisk iced tea. Or juice!
Can I give you stuff?:
IF IT'S ANOTHER STRANGER-DANGER HUG, I"M JUMPING RIGHT OUT THAT WIN- Ooh, stuff?
Can I ask ya to dance with me during the dances?:
Ever see Elaine dance on Seinfeld. You don't wanna be the person responsible for that do you?
What/where will you be eating?:
EVERYTHING. As long as it's good. I will not turn down food. Too skinny for that.
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc?
Will you be paying? :) But hey, if there's room for one more, I don't see why not.
Can I take your picture?:
NO MORE HU-- Oh, pictures? Um, okay. It's not gonna get you anything on eBay, though.
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?:
There's a goal? What if I don't meet the objectives in time? Are there acheivements? WHAT IF I'M DELAYED BY ALL THIS HUGGING? Is it going to count against me? *hyperventilates* I just want to have fun! Doesn't everyone?

Who Needs a Vacation and has Two Thumbs?
Posted 13 years agoTHIS guy! So, Megaplex in Florida was a bit of a bust due to work issues, but I -still- desperately need to get out of the house and do something other than think about getting out of the house and doing something! Seriously, my butt's about to take root in this chair. Problem is, I'm horrible at planning these things, and hate vacationing on my own. Any buds out there with time on their hands and any ideas? I'd love to hear 'em! Any cons? Cruises? Theme parks?
EDIT: Hm, I have a brother in Portland, Oregon. Maybe I'll go drive up there. Anyone in that area, or on the way between there and SoCal?

GENTLEMEN!
Posted 13 years agoI GIVE YOU... ART. And me. Again.
But more importantly, art! Everyone loves art, right? Of course you do. There's just gonna be a few changes 'round these parts.
First of all, as some of you may have noticed, I tend to choke when it comes to commissions. Everything rolls along fine for a month or so, and then... boom. I crash and burn and I feel so guilty I don't show my art-face for... god, has it been a year already? Eesh.
So anyway! NO MORE COMMISSIONS. Sorry! I'm gonna just roll with whatever strikes my fancy for now. But hey, I'm still open to suggestions from you guys! If you come up with something that tickles the fancy, I may just draw it for you, free of charge!
Which doesn't mean I won't accept moneys, though. If you feel like donating to the FEED THE CONNER foundation, I'll gladly accept whatever you wanna toss into my paypal account ( connercoon2000[at]yahoo.com ). The art I do, however, is done without the expectation of being paid. I'm doing this because I like to draw!
So, hey! Glad to see you all again! I hope you enjoy what's coming as much as I will!

A collaboration between myself and my dear friend Dee. Wonderlandishness ensues! Come for the story, stay for the freakin' adorable arts. Leave comments. Dee lives on those. They're her favorite flavor of unbirthday cake.
To be updated way more frequently than my own corner of the FA.
Updates on commissions later-ish. My sincere apologies to those still waiting. At least you haven't paid anything yet, eh?
*slips back into his hole, slips too far* Oh shi-!

COMMISSIONS - Open for Business! Again!
Posted 15 years agoMay? Seriously, May was my last journal update? This is why I don't FaceBook or Twitter or Twoot or... Wait, can you use 'FaceBook' as a verb? I'm sure someone has, by now. Anyway, where was I?
Oh, right, May. It's been a while since then, eh? Five whole months or more! Talk about art block, sheesh. But as you guys may have noticed, I've managed to get over that by posting a picture for every day in October! Gotta say that was incredibly satisfying, if only a little tiring! And now that it's November, I'm gonna jump on the Thanksgiving bandwagon a little early and thank everyone who voted, commented, faved, and watched my little corner of the FA over the past month. You really know how to make someone feel special, guys! THANKS!
If anyone's curious, I looked through my gallery statistics for the top five favorite October series pics, and...
1) Day 31, Pumpkin - 69 favorites, 373 views (and climbing! After only one day!)
2) Day 25, Link - 61 favorites, 256 views
3) Day 29, Ash (a personal favorite) - 53 favorites, 326 views
4) Day 23, Werewolf - 52 favorites, 258 views
5) Day 30, Axel - 48 favorites, 267 views
Again, thank you guys so much for the support!
But now, to the title at hand, huh? COMMISSIONS! Yes, I know I tried this way back when at the -beginning- of the year with little to show for it, but my sole consolation is that I hadn't made anyone pay for anything yet! No harm, no foul, then? Can I request a mulligan? Do-over? Backsies? Well, now that I've gotten everyone's attention from that month o' fun, I'm gonna try this AGAIN. I'm feeling good about my art, and it seems most of you folks like it, too, so...!
Before we get started, I'm adding a bit of a bit of a twist to these; a theme, if you will. Why? Because it's fun, that's why!
ALL COMMISSIONS MUST BE SIX WORDS LONG
That's right! Six words! No more, no less! It can be a description, or a concept, or a quote, but I'll only accept those that are SIX WORDS LONG. Examples?

"Beach party on Sea of Tranquility."
"Laughing hyena in opium enhanced dream."
"Muscle-otter doing handstand, failing hilariously."
"Too little, too late. Why me?"
"Conner refuses to draw porn? Damn!"
NOTE: My take on hyphenated words: If one of the two sides of the hyphen can't be a word on its own, the whole thing is considered one word. (i.e. re-enact, re-establish)
Get the idea? Good! Now, on to

May Already?
Posted 15 years agoMan, you guys remember that silly resolution I made? the one where I said I was gonna doodle every day? Hoo! Boy, if art was a gym, I'd be the couch potato playing video games munching on candybars... Well, that's mostly true, anyway.
I'm kicking my own butt, though. Gonna get these commissions going, get 'em out to the folks expecting them... And unless more come in, well, I suppose I'll just sketch whatever, yeah? I have so many ideas, and I've had so little energy/drive/heart to do any of it... Is this artist's block? Bah. I hate it. I wanna become one of those household names in furry art, someday; not gonna get there by not doodling, right? Maybe I'll throw out a sketch-suggestion journal, or something when I'm ready. that'd be fun, right? People would participate in that, right?
ALL COMMISSION REQUESTS MUST HAVE THEME MUSIC!
That's right! Caspslock and everything! So what's this mean? Have you ever listened to a really good song, I mean a -really- good song, and suddenly become inspired? Did an image pop into your head? A story? That's what I'm talking about! So along with a brief desciption of what you'd like (reference pictures/links are welcome!) let me know what song should be the theme! If you have a link to it somewhere on the internets, so much the better! REMEMBER, THE MUSIC YOU PICK WILL INFLUENCE HOW I DRAW YOUR COMMISSION! Sound good? Good!
COMMISSION PRICES:
Pencil sketch - $5

Sound good? Good!

Mr. Nice Guy
Posted 15 years agoI try hard to be nice to everyone I meet, I really do. Sometimes people make it tough, but I feel that if you're kind and supportive when they're going through rough spots or bad days, they'll appreciate it and show the same kindness in return. Not a solid philosophy, I guess, but it's worked out well so far.
However, it's recently come to my attention that several people may not appreciate how I've started working more hours at my job, or spending more time drawing when I could be on messenger or MUCKs talking or roleplaying with them. Really? Do we have to be that selfish? It's not like I'm purposefully avoiding anyone, here. I'm practically broke, so I've got to earn money somehow, yeah?
Which is why those same people might not like what I'm gonna say next: I'm going to open myself up for commissions soon. I know I was trying to avoid that after the debacle last time, but necessity is the mother of reason, or something like that. I need the money at this point, no matter how little I make from the extra effort.
TL;DR? Condensed version = Sorry if I'm not as good a friend as you guys wanted me to be, and commission information soon.

FurCon Report, and a Meme!
Posted 15 years agoSo I had a total blast at FurCon, which was definitely what I was hoping for! It was great to not only get out of my room (and town) and socialize, but to do so with an entire freakin' hotel full of like-minded individuals. Sure, it may be the only con I do this year (funds and bills and such, ya know), but it was well worth taking a six-day break from my life and enjoy myself with friends!
The lobby was always full of furs and suiters, and it wasn't only fun watching them socialize, but also watching the people coming to the hotel who had no freakin' idea what was going on! Ha! I hung out at the Creator's Lounge quite a bit, though not nearly as much as some. Seriously, guys, that room got a bit hot and murky, if you know what I mean. Get some fresh air every hour or so next time! Also, I got to see the Masquerade Parade, which reached an epic climax when a PedoBear (anyone else see him?) and his crotch-box of 'Free Candy' ran into a small group of kids watching the parade... and they went for the box. Bad bear, bad! Think about your suit more carefully next time! I nearly died watching Furry Night Live. Best skit/performance? It had to be the furry version of SNL's spoof of that classic "Letter to My Sister" scene from the OC's second season finale. Oh god, it's still making me grin hard enough to hurt.
As for those who made this weekend especially memorable for me, I'd like to thank Yargo the adorably red platypus,
blackberrydragon,
GraveyardGreg,
Duncan,
belicbear, and especially dear DameonMunk (who might be getting an account here on FA soon! Whee!). Thanks for inviting me out there, big guy! I'm so glad I went!
...Anyway, I've seen this thing floating around a few journals, thought I'd give it a shot, see what comes of it. Honest opinions, folks! I can't get better if I don't know what you really think! Just fill in the blanks!

Mr. 2010 Results, and an Update!
Posted 15 years agoBORING PERSONAL STUFF AHEAD. SKIP THIS PARAGRAPH IF YOU COULD CARE LESS.
Yeah, so, the reason you guys might not have seen me around much is because there was a bit of a family emergency: seems my gramma tripped over her cat's litterbox in the middle of the night and feel on her side, hard. Fortunately, she's living with my aunt and uncle, and even though she said she was only suffering from a bti of pain hen she breathed hard, they took her to the ER anyway. She had a few x-rays taken when she got there, though, and it turns out she has a collapsed lung with fluid in it, so she'll be staying in the hospital until they can get her fixed up again, which seems like friday, at this point. For those of you actually concerned about that kind of stuff, not to worry. Apparently, the only trouble she's having is figuring out what day it is, due to tinted hospital windows and frequent check-ups by the doctors and nurses. I'm sure she'll be fine. She's tiny, but a tough old bird.
Anyway! It's been a week since I showed everyone my Mr. 2010 contestants, and now it's time to see the results! Hm...

O HAI
Posted 15 years agoSo... hi. Anyone remember me? Waayyyy back in... May, was it? Dropped off the map, art-wise? Yeah.
So... I'm back. Happy New Year to all those who've been wished a happy New Year already, and to those who haven't yet. My resolution was to stop being a lazy-ass procrastinating procyon and doodle or write something every day! ...That was kind of my resolution last year, wasn't it? Gee, that worked out swell.
I'm hoping that this year, though, I can do it with the help of your encouragement and enthusiasm! I really wanna give back to a community that's provided such awesome art and prose (You guys know who you are)! So, let's see, shall we?
Not taking commissions right now (because most of us know how good I am at being on time with those), but I'm always open to suggestions on what you guys would like to see from me! I've got a secret list of stuff I really wanna do, and if I like your suggestion, I just might add to it!
Also: I'm going to this convention-thing in San Jose on the 21st... you know that one? Further Confusion, or something? Anyone else going to that? Hollah!

COMMISSIONS OPEN
Posted 16 years agoSo... Here's the deal, the nitty-gritty, the details. My rent's been upped to $500 a month, and the part-time job I currently hold is... shaky. My hours are getting cut left and right, and I'm only making about $800 a month at best, minus car payments, phone bills, etc. I'm gonna have to cut back on my school schedule as is, but before I try finding a second part-time job that could be just as flimsy, I thought I'd see how things went here. So! For the entire month of May, I'm gonna try blasting through commissions and see if it's an adequate source of income. I've upped my prices a little for obvious reasons, but I still think they're fair, right? Contact me however you can, guys, and let me know if you're interested!
--COMISSIONS--
1) Bengalgod (3 of 5 complete)
2) T'Chall (Concept phase)
3) Col (Concept phase)
PRICES!
- $7 for a sketch (Pencil only, no touch-ups with Photoshop will be involved.)
- $12 for inked (Black and white, great for coloring on your own, if you want. A preliminary sketch will be provided for your approval before completion).
- $17 for colored (Via Photoshop. A preliminary sketch -and- the inked version will both be provided for approval before completion.)
- $7 more for every extra character or backgrounds (Sketch, Inked, or Colored)
PAYMENT!
I'll only work through PAYPAL on this one, folks. If your commission is accepted, I'll give you the price and address to send to once the preliminary sketch has been completed.
COMPLETION!
Once your commission is completed, I will send you a copy via email. I will only post the artwork with your consent.
--ART TRADES--
I'll never so much demand a trade of art as I will feel compelled to doodle for other folks. If you wanna return the favor, feel free! And just so you all know, if you doodle for me first, I might be compelled to doodle right back, so watch out! And if you wanna actually set up an official art trade, I'll mark it here!
--REQUESTS--
ATTENTION: There's no doubt there will be requests. I know I've gotten a few of 'em already! Just remember, folks, that while I'd often love to draw whatever you ask for right away, paying customers come first, and doodling customers right after! That doesn't mean, however, I won't keep your request in mind. If it's particularly intriguing, I just might do it during some downtime! You never know! I'm lazy like that! ...Crazy. I'm -crazy- like that!

Aheh. Heh. Hm.... Yeah.
Posted 16 years agoSo you all remember that resolution I made at the new year to draw something every day, right? Right... me too. Well, hey, guess what? Didn't happen. I hate myself for it, but yeah...
But hey! I got into the doodling groove again so... yay? Maybe this will last a little longer than one or twwo pics, huh? I mean, it'd be nice to see some steady output from me, like those other awesome artists manage, right? I mean, that's what people wanna see, more stuff from me, right? Hello? This thing on? Bah.
never got around to joining that Original Character Tournament. and now, at the point I think I could actually get some serious doodlework done... it might already be too late. I mean, two character reference sheets and nine pages of comic? Eesh! Wyrm, if you see this, I owe you big time for all the effort you put into that script... Seriously. Argh.
Anyhoo, I am back(ish), working on getting through the commissions I owe Bengal, the poor, patient guy. I -think- that's it for anyone who's already paid me money for art, though, so I won't feel as guilty if my mind wanders and I feel the need to post random arts. I think If I go back to the folks waiting to give me their commission ideas, I'll have to limit it to one doodle per customer, just for now. that's fair, right? what do you guys think?

Oh God Someone Stop Me
Posted 16 years agoI mean... I have so much I have to do right now! I have fifteen units worth of college classes this semester! I've got work when I'm not in school! I've got -homework- when I'm not at school or work! I... I have -art- that needs to be done in between all that! And I still haven't factored in eating, sleeping, calls of nature, or feeble attempts at a social life! My schedule feels booked solid for what might be -years-.
...And yet, I really, really wanna join another OCT. This one here, specifically: Ebon Spire http://ebon-spire-oct.deviantart.com/
Gah! Don't get me wrong, the Colosseum was a blast to watch and participate in, and I've been watching it up to the very end. I think I've probably got every page anyone ever drew for that crammed into my Favoritees folder (Oughta sort those out, at some point). But trying to keep up with the awesomeness that surrounded me there was almost overwhelming. I think more than a few of you know I was actually relieved to be out of the picture after El Toro lost to AstroCrush's Sol Thundard http://astrocrush.deviantart.com/ (Argh! I still ought to do a follow up for that! MORE ART!). On the other-other hand, I really enjoyed nearly killing myself over my entries, participating in something artsy and -fun-.
...Maybe I should just join MyNameIsMad's Working Man's OCT http://mynameismad.deviantart.com/
Augh! Please someone agree with me on leaving OCT's alone! Please?

Posted 16 years agoSoooo... yeah. Me again. Hi, heya, how do. As some of you already know, I haven't been lying dead in a ditch somewhere (not yet, anyway). I've just been... busy. Work, school, yada-yada-yada. Damn, I've barely done -anything- since the Colosseum. I feel like a lazy schmuck. I -am- a lazy schmuck. I mean, look at my last post, people! It's been -that- long since I've had either the time or the drive to doodle something. Shameful, really. I'm never going to get any better letting my drawing hand whither and shrivel up like a... whithery... shriveled... thing. You know, like a shrunken voodoo head, or something. Ew.
But new year, clean slate, resolutions, right? Right! So I'm letting you all be witness to this; I'm gonna set aside time every day to draw. Two hours! I'll resist the temptation to browse through all the other great art I see around here, or read my long list of webcomics, or fiddle around with my handhelds (games, you pervs!), or even distract myself with my MUCK client and IMs! I'll doodle! Doodle like the wind! I might not get out something every day, but I'll do my best, dammit! I know once I frce myself back in the groove, I won't stop... for at least a month or two. Argh.
So I need your help, guys! If you see me around on AIM or Y!IM (connercoon2000 on both), ask me if I've drawn something yet! If I admit I haven't, TELL ME TO GET MY LAZY BUTT IN GEAR! Stop being nice to me! Demand I doodle and show you the results! Or text me a frowny emoticon, or tell me how I'm such a dissapointing artist -followed- by the frowny emoticon. Or heck, refuse to talk with me until I do something! I can only kick myself in the butt so many times before I get used to it, you know? Gah, I owe so many people stuff; commissions, gifts...
Oh! And happy new year! Here's hoping I don't keep writing '2008' on all my checks!

Obligatory Tournament Response Journal, Go!
Posted 17 years agoSo, the results of the first round of the Colosseum have been posted... and Toro's made it to the second round! Wow! I mean... It's one thing to hope you keep going, but I was prepared to have Toro's tournament experience end there, too. I feel honored to make it this far...
But I'm totally boned, I think! ^^ My next match is a handicap fight versus none other than AstroCrush's Sol Thundard! On one hand, this fight will no doubt be of EPIC proportions! Seems a lot of people are looking forward to seeing them throw down! But I'm not sure my skills can match up to the awesomeness of Astro's entries. Go to his page! See for yourselves!
Also, it saddens me to think that only one of us will be able to keep going, and one of us has to lose. Argh! Well, guess I better buckle down, and get creative! *gameface* Grr.

Colosseum Meme, and Other Stuff
Posted 17 years agoOkay, so it should probably be 'Other Stuff, and the Colosseum Meme', since I'm doing a little life-update for y'all. First off, yay, I finally got me a job! I applied to Macy's for a retail position... and somehow got myself suckered into receiving, instead. It's ten bucks an hour... and that's about where the fun stops. I'm working overnight, unpacking trucks and making sure clothes are out of their boxes, tagged, and sent to the right departments for the morning shifts to handle. I also don't get any medical benefits out of the deal, since I'm technically 'on-call' rather than a full-time employee, even though I put in the same amount of hours. No customer interaction, and I can't really interact with my co-workers because... well, there's the language barrier.
That's another thing I want to talk about briefly. I'm not trying to be discriminatory or anything, but it bugs the heck out of me when people talk in another language right in front of me. It's even worse when they look my way right before they do it! Sure, I know the US workforce is a diverse group, and I probably picked the wrong job to be complaining about this, but I can't be the only one who feels that way, right?
I wonder if Starbucks is still hiring...
Anyway, I should have probably put this out there for all you Colosseum fans/participants -way- before the first round, but... Heck, here's a deeper look into everyone's (aka Me) favorite bool.
ENTRANTS: El Toro(!)
Basics
1) What's your character's name?
- Full name is Jose Bravado. He doesn't have a middle name as far as I can tell. Never really needed it...
2) How old is he/she?
- Mid-twenties, but for those craving specifics, we'll just run with 25, 'kay?
3)Is your OC a boy or a girl?
- Boy. Very. Wouldn't you notice a female that size wearing an open jacket?
4) What's his/her race?
- Bool! Specifically, Toro Bravo, the Spanish Fighting Bull.
Appearance
1) If this character were to suddenly become part of the real world, and ended up in a heavily-populated area, how many stares would he/she get?
- Plenty. I mean, the guy is seven feet tall, and about three feet broad at the shoulder, too. And have -you- ever seen a bull wearing a bright red outfit, or standing upright before? C'mon.
2) Is your character considered normal in his/her own world?
- Pretty much, besides being EXCEPTIONALLY HANDSOME.
3) What would be his/her most recognizable feature(s)?
- Mooscles. Lots of them. He'd suggest his hair as a very close second.
4) Would you consider your OC as attractive?
- What are you implying?? Are you suggesting I have a secret crush on the beefy beefcake with the sexy accent?? Lies! Mostly.
Personality
1) Temper?
- Not unless provoked. Go ahead. Say something about his Mama, or hurt his friends and family. And don't even think about messing with his good looks! He can be sweet, but lemme tell you, when he's pissed off, you'll know it.
2) Does your character ever get depressed?
- Not really. He's a pretty cheerful and optimistic guy, even in the face of hopelessness. Ooh! One time, he was kidnapped by aliens and got homesick for his Mama's cooking. Does that count?
3) Leader or Follower?
- Totally a leader, always willing to charge headlong into danger. That doesn't mean he won't follow good advice, though. ...When he actually stops to listen to it.
4) What is the main aspect(s) of his/her personality?
- Gotta be the self-pride thing. He's hot stuff, and he knows it. He's also not the sharpest chunk of cheddar in the cheese factory. Ooh! And he's also a romantic. Watch out ladies!
History
1) Did your OC have a family of any sort? If so, are they still alive?
- Of course he has family! Heck, he still lives with them! Mama is a gentle and boisterous soul who loves to cook, making enough food for an army, even when it's just her family, so unexpected guests are never a problem. Papa was a wrestling legend before he retired twenty-some years ago, but he's still 'The World's Strongest Bull'. You won't see him in the Guinness book, though, because he refused to pose holding a train engine over his head. with one hand. Jose has yet to beat his Papa in an arm wrestling contest.
2) Is your character out on his/her own? If so, why?
- Jose often goes out on his own when he's saving the day as a superhero, but this time around, his family insisted on coming. Papa probably smelled something fishy going on, but Mama just wnted to make sure Jose washed behind his ears.
3) Has he/she encountered any traumatizing events?
- The poor guy had a bad hair day once. Does that count? Oh, and another time, someone told him that wrestling was fake. Jose had to be consoled for a few days, but not before beating the offender into a pile of mushy goo.
4) What was probably the best time in his/her life so far?
- Jose pretty much sees his entire life as one great time, but the highlight had to be when his Papa agreed to train him for wrestling.
Romance
1) Single?
- Well, on the MUCK where he was 'born', he's happily married to the adopted daughter of a reknowned supervillain, and they have a lovely son, Fernando, who'd rather bury his nose in a book than have anything to do with sports. That doesn't stop Jose from trying, by flinging a football at him every now and then, or surprise him with an elbow drop sneak attack. But for the Colosseum, I'm using the a variant (which I plan to use for a comic or cartoon later on) which has him as a bachelor. A -sexy- bachelor.
2) Has your OC developed any romantic relationships?
- See above and below. But hey, the bull can't help it if his female (and sometimes male) fanbase swoon over him. It's the curse of being so macho. Somehow, he deals with it just fine.
3) Virgin?
- You'd think a 25-year-old still living with his parents would be, but he's not. definitely not. Just ask around.
4) Does your character like flirting?
- Does a bear wipe its ass with Charmin?
Symbolism
1) What animal would you associate your OC with?
- ...Is this a trick question?
2) Musical Instrument?
- Bass guitar, played to a Spanish beat taht you can feel in your hips.
3) Element?
- Earth! Wait, Heart? ...Goooo Planet!
4) Planet?
- Hm... Mars? It's named after the god of war, afetr all. Then again, Jupiter's the biggest planet...
Showing the Love
1) Do you draw your character?
- Of course! Though that shouldn't keep other people from sharing in the joy that is El Toro fanart!
2) Do you write about him/her?
- Do comics count?
3) Do you use him/her in any rpgs?
- As mentioned before, you can find his sexiness over on the Supermegatopa:Blue MUCK... or Tapestries MUCK.
4) What other ways have you appreciated your OC?
- Why are you asking me so many personal questions?? Back off, man!! Don't you judge me!!
RANDOMIZE!
1) Is your character wanted for anything?
- Well, -lots- of people want him, y'know what I mean? *wink-wink, nudge-nudge* Also, he's stirred up trouble by accidentally causing traffic accidents.
2) What are some weaknesses in him/her?
- Admittedly, he's a bit gullible, which has led him into more than one supervillain's evil trap before. And if you can manage to dig in underneath all that ego, he'd end up bawling like a baby until someone could boost his confidence again. Physically, it turns out that nose-ring he wears so proudly is pretty good at stopping him dead in his tracks, if you can get a hold of it.
3) Strengths?
- Um, muscles, fueled by his desire to impress everyone? Papa's training has toughened him up quite a bit, too. He's been punched through walls, hit by trucks, set on fire, attacked by a swarm of angry cats... There's very little that can keep him down for long, especially if there's a good reason for him to keep fighting.
4) Does your OC drink or smoke (ect.)?
- He drinks, but only on special occasions. He -did- get himself drunk one time, and got into a bar fight... They had to dredge the bar up from the harbor the next morning. He also tried smoking once when he was little, because he was told it was 'cool'. His Papa found out, though, and taught Jose a lesson that has kept him from going near a cigarette ever since.
5) What's one quirk about your him/her?
- Back in elementary school, Jose was the fat kid who got picked last in sports.
6) Does your character have any phobias?
- Plenty. He's afraid of getting old, acne, split ends... the list goes on and on.
7) What could you do to get him/her into a blind rage?
- Tell him a 'Yo Mama' joke. Or muss up his hair.
8) Does your OC like chickens?
- Only the ones that don't sell Girl Scout cookies.
The Final Question
What would you consider your relationship with your character to be like?
- <.< ...Hey, look over there! It's Elvis!
