A Bitch Called Sandy
General | Posted 13 years agoAs much as I loved partying with everyone at FurFright I decided to leave Sunday morning. I didn't have a chance to say goodbye to anyone. Throughout the entire convention I constantly thinking about what to do with this damn hurricane headed towards the northeast. I never called it quits on a convention before but this storm had me worried and I felt million times better when I got back home with my family. I'm glad I left early, I was able to get gas, food and headed straight home with no traffic or road closures.
When I got home I helped my dad board up the windows and then we waited. There wasn't much rain, but it was plenty of wind. The power kept going out all night. We had a ton food and flashlights so we were in pretty good shape. The only things that were damaged was a garbage can dented the fender on my VW Bug and a part of the gutter downspout came loose. That was it. Later on as I watched the news I found that I was one of the lucky ones. Seaside and Mantoloking NJ were wiped out from the storm. I live less than 15 min from both those areas. I saw the pictures and its really hard to grasp places like that being gone. They were places that have been part of my life and it will never be the same again. I haven't heard much about Point Pleasant so I'm hoping it wasn't hit as hard as Seaside and Mantoloking.
Thanks for everyone who was checking up on me via Twitter, FA and txt. I am alive and I still have my home! I hope everyone else is safe and well!

General | Posted 13 years agoYes I'm still here. I know I haven't posted any videos or artwork lately. Its been a couple of months but I was out and about enjoying the summer. Now that the cooler temps are here its much more enjoyable to hop into fursuit and have some fun so there will probably be so more random fursuiting videos to come in the near future.
In recent events, I headed out to visit
Kyote and go to WPAFW which was a great time. I really enjoyed catching people by surprise when I showed up cause I really didn't advertise that I was going to be there. I also met up with
Shiacoft
ImaginarySkye and
Sozan_Ryker while I was there. It was good to see those guys again. I was happy to see that
spatsbear was there too. It was great to talk to him and I got see his mint Chrysler New Yorker. WPAFW was some good plain simple fun. Nothing got out of hand and it looked like everybody had a good time. I'll definitely head back there again next year. Pittsburgh might be a 6 hour drive for me but I certainly don't mind it. Every time I'm there I have fun.
In a few weeks I'm totally going to be up in Connecticut for FurFright! I can't wait for that con! Soooo much fun. There is still plenty to do in 2012!

A Year of Coopertom - Fursuit Review
General | Posted 13 years agoWell its been a full year of owning my Coopertom cat fursuit made by
jillcostumes Its been to 5 conventions, numerous fursuiting evens, videos and just wearing it for the sake of wearing it ha ha! I put a lot of mileage on my suits and Coopertom is holding up like a champ! No rips, no tears, no nothing! It still looks as good as it did when I first pulled it out of the box! I don't go easy on this suit it all. I think the main reason is because the type of fur Jill0r used breathes way better then my other suits. I don't get overheated as quickly so I can act like a madman longer than I normally would.
On of my favorite features of the suit are the feet. I know a lot of suiters like the big feet and depending on the style it does look great but I always wanted a suit where the feet are proportional to my body and Jill0r totally pulls this off beautifully. They are based around a regular pair of comfy slippers. They are super light too. Even with the foam and fur on them they still just feel like a nice pair of slippers. I can walk around effortlessly. Running, jumping, everything isn't a problem. It's so beautiful never having to watch your step when you're in a crowd.
The body suit is also great! I don't know how she does it but she used a big plastic style zipper and hid it really well. The bigger zipper is super easy to unzip nice and fast and fur doesn't get caught and jam as much compared to the smaller style zippers. The suit also washes in a synch too. The only thing which is a bit of a chore is the longer pile grey fur on the shoulders and upper back. While its a nice touch it takes a bit more time to brush than the rest of the body.
The hands are so nice! They are 4 fingered with small claws that appear to be made out of resin. What I like about the claws is that they don't stick out. While they are there and you can see them, they don't get in the way of anything. Its great when you have to push elevator buttons. Another great feature is that the claws are not painted. Its a solid color all the way through. No worrying around chipping paint on such a high traffic part of the suit. While some suit makers like to use rubber paw pads on the hands, Jill0r just used fabric and I personally think its an excellent choice. It doesn't even feel like they are there which is really nice. Also makes washing the hands a breeze. One of my favorite details are the paw pads. Jill0r made them randomly pink and black just like a real cat.
The tail, made super heavy duty. It has a nice thick belt loop in it so no worries about the tail yanking off. It has just the right amount of stuffing it as well. Not too much to make it rigid and not too little to make it flat. Its got the right amount of sway in it so you can totally get the tail moving perfect when your walking, dancing or taking an action picture.
Last but not least is the head. Its just perfect! It really feels indestructible. All the fur seams are stitched. There are no wrinkles, the fur lays nice, tight and solid to the foam. Its super light. The head doesn't weigh any more than a bicycle helmet. You can actually squish the head! There is no resin or joints or seams to worry about inside the head. You can totally crush the head down to save space when packing. I have freaked a lot of people out ha ha! The vision is amazing! The center blind spot is almost zero. I can look dead ahead and not have to worry about bumping into anything and it also makes performing in suit way better too because you can look people straight in the face so it doesn't look like you're staring off into space when your interacting with someone. The eye holes are covered with a heavy duty perforated plastic instead of fabric which I really like because I can toss this head around and not have to worry about ripping the eyes. The inside is lined with a nice smooth Lycra material and is actually loose and billowy. I don't know how she does it but the Lycra hood inside the head is stitched around the foam. Its not actually attached to the foam which works wonders when your drying it. The Lycra protects the foam from moisture and odors. I wear a balaclava with all my suits to protect the head from moisture but I have found the head that Jill0r made resists a lot of the moisture because of the way she made the inside. I have only wiped it out a few times with a weak solution of water and rubbing alcohol on a washcloth. There are no odors at all. The head still smells new even after all the use I put it through. Although it lacks a moving jaw its the best fursuit head I have worn as far as vision, maintenance, durability and comfort goes. Oh and lets not forget the expression on that face! Ha ha! She did an amazing job on it!
Its been a crazy and amazing time I have had with this suit this past year. I feels great to finally portray my Coopertom cat character with such an awesome suit. I'm so happy how it came out, I'm totally going to get another one from Jill0r but for now I'm having too much fun being a cat! MEOW!

General | Posted 13 years agoI hate posting journals about rants and emotional stuff. I really don't think people want to hear Coopertom bitching and moaning. I do enough of that on Twitter. I want to keep my venting to a minimum. I try to keep things happy and cheery which it is most of the time. I don't want to drag anyone down. I try my best not to let things get to me because in grand scope of things it really isn't that big of deal and nobody's problem but my own. I'm an optimistic person but there are some days that are just are a real kick to balls that knocks that attitude right out the window.
I'm a single guy with a couple of failed relationships and few coulda, shoulda, woulda, situations under my belt that has left my love life in this purgatory like state of condition. I'm really not getting anywhere and I don't know if I should keep going because I really don't know what a working relationship feels like. To me, they all eventually boil down into something that almost feels like a job to me. Where you have to work to keep the relationship going. Are all relationships like this? I expected something different. This has also left me questioning if I even would want another relationship with someone.
A conflicting drive on top of this is age. Do I batten down the hatches and really work towards any relationship because now is the time to do so? People say when the time is right you'll find the person you are looking for. This is kind of a scary tidbit of information. I'm in my late 20s now, I'm healthy and able to do anything I want. So now is the time to do it. There are a lot of things I want to do but they are pointless to do by myself if I can't share the experiences with someone. At the rate I'm going if I ever do find someone I'll be too old to do any of it. I still can go ahead do all the things I want to do but I don't know if it would be worse to do them sad and alone or not at all.
A disturbing trend I see as I have gotten older is that there are fewer fish in the sea now. It's not like it once was when I was in college where girls were single or dumped boyfriends in a blink of an eye. Those chances are long gone. The few single women I do encounter I tend to find underlying issues that explain why they are single and in their 30s or even older. This causes me to do some internal reflection on myself. Is there something about me or something I'm doing wrong as person to explain why I am still single. Well the furry thing could be a damper to women outside of the fandom but aside from that, I'm a nice, good looking guy with a successful career.
All of this really does make me think that nice guys do finish last. When I was in college I had a crush on a girl that was in a few of my art classes. We talked a lot and I even went over her place a couple of times to give her a hand on a few projects because I cared for her but she never really showed an interest in me. Later on that year she started dating this really nasty guy I knew from high school. He was just an over all asshole. I kept hanging out as classmates with her, just being a nice guy but she always would run back to her terrible boyfriend. I also found out that he was beating her too but she worshiped the ground he walked on. This guy really had 0 redeeming features. I graduated college and haven't seen or heard of her until today. I get some news today from a friend who saw her recently which sparked this whole lousy mood I'm in. Turns out shes been married to the abusive asshole for 3 years now. Hes unemployed and uses drugs now too. Here was this beautiful girl that I adored. I would have given the world to her but instead she rather have her face punched in by a drug addict.
What the heck am I doing wrong?

My overdue Anthrocon 2012 report
General | Posted 13 years agoAfter of playing a week of catch up due to disappearing from boring normal society to go to Anthrocon, I am finally sitting down and doing this con report thing. So yeah. Pretty much everything that could go wrong went wrong at work the night before of the start of my vacation. Unlike most starts of conventions where I'm super exited this one was full of worry because of the stuff breaking at work. I was almost to the point of not showing up on Wednesday and going into work. I decided to trek on and after many delays managed to get to AC around 10:30pm. Way later then I wanted to but none the less I still had a ton of fun and instantly started fursuiting around that night. I totally want to do that again next year. Showing up Wednesday really makes the whole convention feel much longer.
I was rooming with
KartFox
skrugg and
ZotCoon It was the first time rooming with any of them and it was a total blast. They all rock and I'd totally room with them again any time. This was also the first time where everyone in the room was a fursuiter which was really neat. It was fun talking about the different aspects of fursuiting, tips and tricks on staying cool, cleaning, stuff like that. The past few conventions this year I pulled back on fursuiting and spent more time going out to dinners and room parties but with amount of people attending AC the connections you have friends tends to get lost in the crowd. Its just impossible to do and plan everything you want to do with friends at AC. I tried to keep my plans to a minimum and pretty much did everything spur of the moment. I find this works best for me when I go to AC. Most of my time was devoted to fursuiting this year. I usually took 2 to 3 hour breaks midday for lunch and dealers den. Then 2 hours for dinner and resting in the afternoon. This was also the first con where I utilized my hotel room more for fursuiting breaks then I did the headless lounge. I love using the headless lounge but the con crud outbreak at FWA this year kinda freaked me out a bit. Luckly I didn't get it but I really would like to lessen my chances. So I used my own blower and suit drier. Also brought a case of bottled water. This worked out wonderfully and I'm going to do this from now on. I did still use the headless lounge at AC here and there when I was doing long stretches of suiting but its so much more refreshing going back up to the room.
Fursuiting this year at AC was completely insane! It was so awesome! I know I have received quite a few new watchers on FA and subscribers on You Tube since last year's AC but OMG, the crowd response was incredible this year! I felt like a celebrity or something. I don't think I ever had my picture taken so many times in my entire life. I had people asking for my autograph, hugs, you name it. It was to a point where there wasn't a minute that passed that someone wasn't screaming my name or quoting one of my videos. It really was an amazing experience. I have been called a popufur but I really try to shy away from that label. I'm just a guy having fun like everybody else. It isn't some sort of popularity contest. I just makes me really really happy to see that so many people enjoy what I do in this fandom and I can put a smile on their face. You all make me feel like a million bucks and I can't thank you enough!
When I'm fursuiting I tend to go off and do my own thing. There only have been a few occasions where fursuited with someone or as group. This year at AC I fursuited with some amazing people which led to some truly memorable moments. It was great times suiting around with Kart Fox for a bit and his amazing Aston suit. I know theres gotta be some awesome pictures of us. I'm still on the hunt to see where they turn up. Another highlight was suiting around with the lovely
sciggles and her brand new Sciggles fursuit! I was so happy to see her running around! I really like how it came out. Of course it was a killer duo with her suiting as Sciggles and me suiting at
fender There were some truly epic pics taken. There was even video of her giving birth to our fake love child Tomelet whom I repeatedly dropped on the floor! Ha ha! It was funny, on a few occasions people ran up to take pics of Fender but were totally unaware that a Sciggles suit was made and they totally freaked with they realized they could get pics of the both of us. All we need now is the
dragoneer suit back in the game and it will be pure insanity! Ahhh can't wait for that pic to happen!
I finally got to meet the amazing
yoshinomi ! This guy is so funny. I was so excited when I found out he was coming all the way from Japan to go to AC! His sense of humor is out of this world. It was a blast hanging out and fursuiting with him.
kyote OMG where do I start? We hung out for a little bit at FCN this year but it wasn't until AC where the insanity was truly unlocked. I'm not gonna lie, being an angry cat is frigging awesome but when you throw another angry cat into the mix holy crap, watch out! I have had my cat suit for 1 year already and most of the suiting I have done with it has been pretty much on my own. General Tso the Siamese cat shows up and bam, we were playing off each others jokes, pointless cat fights and doing all this crazy improv stuff all over the place. It was really a great time fursuiting around as a couple of angry cats. It put a whole new dynamic on portraying my cat character. We would sneak up on someone by surprise or just start singing a duet to a group of randomly unsuspecting people. It really was like the two sneaky cats from Lady and the Tramp. It was so cool! Oh and of course I cannot forget the endless nonsensical ramblings between us that made me laugh so much I think I pulled muscles in my face. So look out if you end up at a convention where both of us are attending because it will be a shitstorm of craziness!
So yeah there you have it, my con report of Anthrocon 2012! I was tons of fun! It was so great to meet up with old friends and meet new ones too! Truly a memorable experience that I wouldn't trade the world for! See you there again next year!!!!
I'm featured fursuiter of the month on FNN!!!
General | Posted 13 years agoI was super honored when
kijani_lion asked me to be the June 2012 fursuiter of the month on Furry News Network. We did a phone interview a couple of weeks ago that lasted about an hour or so. It was really cool! The only interviews I ever had were for jobs. Today he posted up the article and I was totally blown away by the professional job he did. Its so amazing to see something like this. No one has ever written a news article about me before. I totally love it! I can't thank him enough for thinking of me and putting his hard work into writing this great article.

a new crazy ass video about milk!
General | Posted 13 years agoThis is what you get when you have
yummers with jug of milk, a kiddie pool and me with a camera.
https://youtu.be/SDHG2zbriBs
Basically we were just laughing at a jug of milk floating in a kiddie pool, next thing I know I'm filming King Gourd flipping his shit. Sometimes the best videos are made spur of the moment. I was laughing my ass off before I even got the video loaded into the computer to edit it.
Mad props go out to KG for this amazing performance.

Its good to feel sad sometimes.
General | Posted 13 years agoI think its a good thing to be sad sometimes. It means you're in touch with your emotions and you're not lying to yourself. I'm generally an optimistic, happy kinda guy but the beginning of this week was the perfect scenario to put me in a lousy mood. I was feeling really lonely and depressed. I didn't pretend like I was happy or try to cover it up in any way. I just let it all hit me. Sure, I felt like total shit at the time but it was the perfect time to just get it all out of my system. I kept to myself for those few days but in the end I feel great. Now its time to get out there and have an awesome memorial day weekend!
Best cat fursuit I have ever seen in my life!
General | Posted 13 years agoIs it just me?
General | Posted 13 years agoI'm a fursuiter. Its what got me into the fandom and I love doing it. I love everything about fursuiting. I love the interaction with people and other fursuiters. I consider myself a very active and outgoing guy both in and out of suit. The problem is when I'm out of suit and I am around fursuiters I feel uneasy I guess. I dunno its hard to explain. Its kinda like that feeling you got when your a little kid when you had to go get your picture taken with the Easter bunny at the mall. That out of place awkwardness, not knowing what to say or do in front of the man in the giant rabbit costume. I just clam up when I'm around fursuiters and I'm out of suit. It's not just for people I don't know inside the suit, this goes for my friends too who are fursuiters. I very rarely hug fursuiters while out of suit too. Once I have my fursuit back on I can hug and talk to as many fursuiters as I want without a problem. I wonder if there are any other fursuiters that have this same issue.

You probably seen this already but I love it!
General | Posted 13 years agohttps://youtu.be/ApFs38W35Qc
You all probably saw this already but I frigging love it and I'm posting it up just in case anyone hasn't seen it.
I love shooting videos with my buddy
yummers I usually just flip the camera on and just wing it which is why most of my videos are just a mismash of just nonsense. With a little bit of planning I really like how videos come out more polished and have a meaning. I have done a few here and there that are planned. They take more time filming but they are way more fun to edit afterwards. I was really excited to see how this came out after KG edited all the shots together. He totally knows what hes doing when it comes to storyboarding and filming. I can't wait to see what he does next.

Well I got back a few hours ago. It was an awesome time heading out there with my buddies
yummers
clete
scurrow and
calamitylupus I was so happy to see everyone up in that area and making new friends too. There even was two brand new
jillcostumes suits running about which was really fun. I was really psyched to meet
kyote with her brand new Siamese cat fursuit! She even surprised me with an amazing Coopertom badge! It really was a blast running around with her and
jill0r as a gang of angry cats. Another thing that rocked my socks was working with
kristofur and
revit on the "I'm a stupid cat" video! Revit's videos are totally out of this world and I was honored that he asked me to do it! To top it off
firr was video scratching "I'm a stupid cat" up on the big screen at the dead dog dance which was so cool! http://desmond.yfrog.com/Himg875/scaled.php?tn=0&server=875&filename=e5vjxg.jpg&xsize=640&ysize=640

Apparently I can impersonate the Monarch's voice.
General | Posted 13 years agoI only saw like 2 or 3 episodes of the Venture Brothers on Adult Swim a while back like in its first season. The odd thing is I sometimes do this crazy voice to portray a bad guy but it turns out to be the Monarch's voice. I had no idea. I'd do the voice and people would be like OMG thats the Monarch and I was like, huh? I had no idea what they were talking about. I never heard a recording of me doing the voice before but
JohnStripedfur uploaded a video with me doing it towards the end.
https://youtu.be/-uZ7cZAlZXI
I think I could do the Monarch pretty close now, now that I know what he sounds like.

Oh the weird things you'll find out!

Approaching 3000 subscribers on You Tube.
General | Posted 13 years agoWhat started as just a few videos of my first furry convention and me playing around at my house in a fursuit has grown to over 60 videos spanning 3 years! It really blows my mind! Now in the You Tube world there are plenty of channels out there with tons and tons of subscribers and have content that would wipe the floor with me but to have almost 3000 subscribers really means a lot to me. The furry fandom as whole is a very narrow interest compared to other interests out there on the internet. So to have that many people out there interested in my videos rocks my socks.
I may not reply much on You Tube to the comments but I do read every single one of them and when I know I got someone to laugh out there, it just makes my day.
When I first started doing these videos I never took in consideration the number of people that were going to watch it and the quality of the content I uploaded. I guess it did work in my favor but now that I know there are more eyes watching me feel like I gotta give people more bang for there buck, so to speak. Its sort of like a balancing act. I want to keep it fun and simple but keep it fresh without going over the top and losing track of what made it funny in the first place. I want to keep you all laughing!
There is still plenty of 2012 left, conventions to go to and videos to be made! Stay tuned!
You guys rock! Thank you so much for watching my videos, all my stuff I have on FA and everything! It means a lot to me! THANK YOU!

Heading to FWA! See ya there!
General | Posted 13 years agoYup! Almost all packed up. Charging cameras, phones, you name it. In a matter of hours I will be shoving off on my adventure to FWA. See ya guys there!
OMG its the FWA meme OMG!
General | Posted 14 years agoWhere are you staying?
The main hotel where all the happenings are.
What day are you getting there?
Late Thrusday night, wired out of my frigging mind!
Who will you be with?
jym
kitsunefoxman
scurrow and two unknown souls.
Who will you hang out with during the convention?
Hmm, I have no idea yet. I just let things happen.
Are there any panels you might be attending?
Yes! There is a main panel and many sub panels throughout the hotel. I would like to see each one. I'll try not to get shocked.
Are you attending any stage or public performances?
I'm might pop in and check one or two out.
Will you be suiting?
Hell yes. Thats what I come to do!
Which suit(s) will you be bringing?
Rock-It wolf, Fender, and Coopertom. Its going to be Fender's and Coopertom's first time at FWA! *gasp*
Do you do free art?
Yeah but only when I feel like it. I do it when I'm in the mood and I have free time. I'm not a hardcore artist by any means.
Do you do trades?
Aww, nope sorry!
Do you do badges?
Nope nope!
Do you do commissions?
Nada!
What is your gender?
I is a guy.
How tall are you?
5'11
Can I talk to you?
Yes! I love the talkings!
Can I touch you?
Yup you sure can but not in the no no spots!
How can I find you?
I'll be the really loud fursuiter. Thats all you need to find me.
Can I visit your room?
Hmm I dunno. It's not really my room. We'll see.
Can I buy you drinks?
Yes but only if I can buy you a drink in return.
Can I give you stuff?
Yes! I love stuff! If there is something you would like to give me, it would be best if you can find me out of suit. Its kinda tricky when I get stuff in suit since I have no pockets.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Hugs? Yes! I love the hugs! Snuggle? Uhh, if yous a lady maybe who knows. I dunno, we'll see.
Are you nice?
You bet your ass I'm nice! My cat fursuit may come off as a bit of a though guy jerk but I assure you its just an act. I'm a really nice friendly guy.
How long are you going?
Will be there late thrusday night and leaving on Monday.
Do you have an artist table?
Nope!
Will you have art in the Art Show? General or Adult sections?
Maybe, if I happen to puke up a hairball and slap it on piece of canvas on my drive down there.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Create a small bonfire and make smoke signals in the shape of Whistler's mother.
Where will you be most of the time during the day/s?
Probably hamming it up in the lobby.
What/where will you be eating?
I will be out in the rolling countryside, eating the ripest Georgia peaches. They will be so soft and plump, it will be like taking a bite out of an ass cheek of newborn child.
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc?
Only if you want to be dreadfully confused and malnourished.
Can I look in your sketchbook?
No! I don't have one.
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
Yes! Only if you don't look at my nonexistent sketchbook whatsoever! This will have to be preformed in complete darkness!
Can I take your picture?
Yes! Of course! This is what gives me power! If not, I would wither away and die.
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
To eat biscuits and gravy.
