Sunday night, a group of 10 Furs went to Eden's. Everyone was greatly impressed by the atmosphere... it is in a house that has been turned into the restaurant. It has a lot of different art throughout, so something to look at besides plain old walls. The waitress who would normally be there had a son who got sick and she had to leave. That didn't phase the owner/chef one bit. Karen came out and talked with us all. Even sat down for a bit while taking the orders. At that point, someone said they didn't feel like just a customer, they really felt like a guest. First MouthGasm happened when the drinks were brought out... the Mango Tea is... well, a mouthgasm! A few of us decided to step out and have a quick smoke. Yeah, bread was brought out during that time. We got crumbs, and had to fight over them! But Karen quickly brought out a few more bread baskets, which I think were empty before they touched the tables! The baskets were filled with banana bread, zuchini bread, muffins... nomnom!  heros even said he don't normally like zuchini bread, but this was GOOD!! Well, after each mouthgasm, a smoker must have a cigarette, so we again trusted our friends and went outside on the back patio. Salads and appetizers were brought next. Again, "I don't normally like this" was heard several times between mouthfuls. And food was passed all around so we could sample things we hadn't ordered ourselves. Time for another visit to the patio. Then I heard plates being sat down on tables so we ventured in. Not sure  wolf2tails actually got his food since his plate was empty when we returned! Though he did have a quite satisfied smile across his face! The next several minutes were filled with the sounds of extreme pleasure around the room. (good thing the place was empty or I'm sure someone would have wondered just wtf was going on back there!) Then everyone had to have everyone sample their food. Karen would come out and chat with us a bit and make sure we all had drinks and anything else we might need. Then we got the checks and as we were all getting ready to pay, Karen brought out the most wonderful fresh chocolate covered strawberries!! OMG!!! Satiated! We were all still grinning by the time we returned to the hotel... 4.5 hours after we left!
Best advertisement... word of mouth. And was the Crowne Plaza ever filled with advertisement... along with business cards. Had people question why we were gone so long... "OMG, I just had an incredible mouthgasm" was about the only answer we were able to give.
So on Monday, when we were getting ready to head out, another group of 8 decided to go. I think, to keep this somewhat clean, I'd better not review THAT visit... let's just say we had furs begging each other for bread and other appetizers, found interesting ways to share, and even scared a couple mundanes (to which Karen just shrugged and said oh well! Told ya she loves furs!) We all even had to pull a  nightrider and all licked their plates! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7488658 Again, some food came up missing... Karen even offered to call the police when the burger was suddenly gone off the plate! :) We had a great time there, and Karen made every single fur feel like family. After the checks were paid, we had to hurry and get to airport (my flight was in less than an hour! Barely made it!) Karen gave us all hugs and said she'd like to see us all back. (amazing since we did get kinda carried away. lol)
We hope to have several trips to Eden's again next year during TFF2013... keep it in mind if you think you may be going to the con; I really don't think you will be disappointed! MOUTHGASM!!

My foster cat, Grey, was brought to me last night from the local shelter. She had been brought in by her owner back in Oct because she didn't get along with the other house animals. She promptly escaped and had been hiding out in the shelter since. Two weeks ago they found her, a terrified skinny kitty. She had been deemed as "unadoptable" because she didn't show well. The only way anyone could touch her was to make her a towel-wrapped burrito. I was up for the challenge since I love the grumpy kitties. Was I in for a shock!! I gave her a little time to check out the room then went in to see how she was doing and to give her some pain medication. (Was spayed on Thursday.) I was prepared to do battle, but approached in a calm manner. She allowed me to pick her up! I put a towel loosely around her so she wouldn't get away while I was medicating her. I didn't have any problems with the meds. Afterwards, she curled up in my lap! She allowed me to pet her for quite some time. I was even able to brush her, which she absolutely loved! She stayed on my lap for a good 20 minutes, purring the whole time, asking for more lovin's. I guess she was just terrified at the shelter which made her defensive.
So if you are considering a new pet, please, PLEASE, check your local shelters... many wonderful animals there. Also, when looking at the animals, think how you would feel trapped in a cage without a clue as to what is going on. Sometimes, the really wonderful animals don't show well, they don't know if you are going to hurt them or what. Some may have spent time on the streets, getting things thrown at them or at the very least yelled at. If at all possible, see if you could foster some animals, give them a chance to find their forever homes.
Also, if you are like me and spend much time on the computer, take a few minutes and check sites like Craig's List and such for missing/lost pets, then check your shelter's web page and see if you can find any matches. Wouldn't it be great to help our little furry friends find their homes again?! My dog Abel got out last month and someone did this for me.... that is how I got involved.

I can hardly believe my friend has been gone almost a month now. It isn't how I would have chosen to spend my birthday, but so thankful I got the chance to go visit him that night. He passed the next morning. :( He was the most wonderful person you could hope to meet. He was always giving his time to help raise money for worthy causes, and this after he spent many years serving his country in the Marines. He will be greatly missed by numerous people, as his funeral and wake could attest to. His procession was well over a mile long! We packed the tavern for his wake, and I left after 9 hours and it was still going strong (they had just brought out the karaoke!) So.... Here's to ya, Pat!

I am getting a suit made and I need to decide if I want the bottom of my footpaws to be furred or not. Being a babyfur, I feel there may be times when the bottoms may show. But also, as much as I plan to suit, I'm afraid they would become filthy, or wear out quickly. So.... those of you who suit... what would you suggest?

I think I have finally recovered and can sit down and write about the con. We started out late Thursday night, stopping at a hotel that, thankfully, I don't remember the name of... not that great to say the least. Binx and I got to Indy around noon and my stupid GPS tried to take us to the Hilton in Downtown Indy, but I had seen the pics of the correct Hilton so knew we weren't were we needed to be. Finally made it to the correct Hilton and hauled our stuff in the doors. The staff there was great, very friendly and welcoming. We got our room and dropped our stuff off then went down to the opening ceremony. The Con Staff was very welcoming and made sure we all knew they were available for any questions or concerns. I spent the rest of the evening walking around and trying to see if I knew anyone... which I didn't. I ran up to our room to get something and met Nemmie in the elevator... my first new pawson to meet! Didn't really get to spend time getting to know him but look forward to talking to him again at next con. While I was sitting waiting on Binx to return, Antero stopped by to meet me. He is a really sweet guy who made me feel a little less alone. Talked to him quite abit and hung a little off and on. Saturday was a day I played photographer most of the day.... got some great pics. Even met a guy who wasn't with the con but said he was having such a great time watching us, he may have to check out FA and maybe become a fur himself... he already has a penguin suit! (He even stayed an extra day to watch us! lol) I didn't really participate in much but enjoyed people and fur watching. Saturday night there was a talent show, Next Top Furry. Didn't have a big turn out but it was fun. The evening closed up with a dance. Sunday I didn't feel all that good and spent a big part of my day in the room... I hated missing so much of the day. I did get pictures of some of the Fursuit Games. I really enjoyed the Fursuit Charades! I think I got all suits at least once... if anyone wants to see any pic of them just let me know and I'll post them. Then there was a game to toss a golfball into a bucket... started out calm, but then... total mayhem!! Buckets destroyed... even poor Antero was wounded.. he lost a toe!! The furs were all over the floor; not sure everyone was going for the golfballs, I think a lot were just wrestling... and I have the pics to prove it! Raver was even stuffing them into his mouth to try to win. It was fun even for those not in suits... but can't wait to get into that mess next time since I'll have my suit by then! Then there was a Snerf War but I wasn't there for that. I made it back downstairs for the closing ceremony. The staff asked if anyone had ways to improve the con... I think about the only thing suggested was more trash cans! Great if that was the only suggestion anyone could come up with! Again, the staff was great and we all enjoyed their hard work! I will definately return next year... and bring more friends with me! Then we had our long drive back home. Made it back around 5:30pm, after being on the road for about 9-10 hours, course stopped to eat.
Even though I didn't participate in a lot I did get to meet a lot of people. I'm sorry to those of you I spent time talking with and not mentioning here... don't think I value you any less... just have bad memory for names. *blush* Ssslith was a great friend, I really hope he does move to KC. He was a real friend when I really needed one. Raver was a fun guy to talk to and was very entertaining. BuckTownTiger was great to talk to, for the few minutes I had a chance to talk to him. The DJ group was all great, lead by PistolPup.
I just have to say... mark IFC 2011 on your calendar! I know I already have it marked down! Hope to see everyone again... and have a lot more people to meet!
