The Avengers. F.M.K.
Posted 13 years agoFinally saw the Avengers and I had a great time. It was big it was awesome and it left me wowed. After a good action flick I used to play the old Fuck, Marry, Kill game with my friends. Feeling a bit old fashioned, I decided to do it again and let you know my picks. Any who want to join in please feel free to post your picks as well.
Fuck: I'd have to say Loki when he was wearing the suit in Germany that was it for me.
Marry: A surprise to some but, Agent Hill. Not Phil but Hill
Kill: Bruce Banner/Hulk, Sketchy looking with rage issues, no thank you.

Posted 13 years agoFinally feel rested and caught up with the world, Conventions always leave me worn out and a bit laggy. I'll have my notes on Morphicon up soon (I hope to have it done by tonight) the TL;DR of it will be small Con can totally = big fun.
Last night I went into work and found out my dept was shrinking. One person is headed to another store in a few weeks and I'll miss her. The other person was "let go" and it was difficult to hide my joy at his removal. This guy had been a thorn in my side for the past year with rude comments, childish power plays and general bitchyness, but the real reason I won't miss him is because he was a massive sandbagger, was so sloppy with his work we all had to clean up after him, and he would lie about his work levels. I'm expecting a massive upswing in team spirit, however this reduction means I'll be a touch tighter on getting my schedule changed. Thank god I have no Cons to attend in the immediate future.
I'll still be getting my usual nights off and the furs local to me really should hang out more. the weather is great and there is so much to do. also I need to set some stuff up for bloomingfurs, my work is always growing.

FCN! I think I remember most of it.
Posted 13 years agoWRETCHED EARTHIANS! You shall submit to my iron fisted tyranny... whoops wrong post, please pay that no attention. Moriarty St.James here with a brief wrap on FCN. So wow, Furry Connection North was purely a great time. here's at ton of the highlights lowlights high-fives and low blows in no particular order.
I made many mixed drinks and shared them. It is a point of pride that when I say "This is a sipping drink" that I really mean "Stay away from open flames."
I drank a lot. its too bad that Denya got screwed on the cider but not much could fix a distributor's error.
I observed the Dunwich Horror in all its blinking glory. It nearly broke my wing and nearly broke my sanity.
I met more furs that were totally cool, some that were ok and sadly a few that made me cringe.
Somehow I came home with money and even crazier with liquor.
I bought a badge from
kazewolf and some art from
kbooki and
Artful-Dodger which I really look forward to sharing. Also took cards from many others that I'll want to commission soon.
Long car travel with furs (eating meow mix) is not specifically covered in the Geneva Conventions, but I'm fairly sure we all know it is cruel and inhumane, this was compounded by the fact that I hadn't jogged before the trip up so I was a bit wired in the car.
Insert one or two jokes about furrys and schedules here, I'll get back to it (I promise)
Fursuits are awesome and I enjoyed them all but my fave for FCN will be varzen's Zephyr suit. I fully admit I'm even more biased than the West German judge in the gymnastics completion. Bats rule, accept it.
The swimming pool was nice the hot tub was great and I spent a wonderful amount of time running in the gym. My new swim suit is a black and electric blue masterpiece.
Nothing is better than walking around the corner as floppybelly is telling Mycroft B "You do know that Moriarty is here."
The gaming was good and so were the games. Lupus in Tabla was great even if I lost as the werewolf. Thank you Ix and Razzor for running the game even bigger thank you to iggy for letting us use his cards.
Furoticon continues to make me laugh, so it pays itself back three fold. the new booster style worked well but doubles should have been random its no fun getting paired with the suicide king when two hard-core suitcases team up.
The furs that hung out with me were great and the ones that hung out with the newer shinier furiends were not missed.
The Chinese buffet we went to was tasty but greasy and accidentally eating pork made this bat very ill. The company however was great and the stories were magical, once we got past an unfortunate drama-bomb.
The breakfast buffet was great and well worth the cost (especially the time it was free). The fact that my server would find Diet Cokes for me earned her generous tips as well.
If you buy nothing else from Bad Dragon, buy the set of three silicone pucks they look snazzy and you can tell everyone you have toys from BD. Plus they bounce well when thrown at people.
I wanted to dance more but all the fun stuff was piled into the night. I am the night. and even I can't be everywhere.
I'm sure I forget more than I wrote but I feel this is good place to end this note.

Posted 14 years agoWhere are you staying? Possibly in my room, possibly in someone else's.
Who will you be rooming with?
What day are you getting there? Thursday barring the unforeseen.
Who will you hang out with during the convention? Many peoples
Are there any panels you might be attending? I might, would help if they'd post a schedule
Are you attending any stage or public performances? not sure again schedule
Will you be suiting? No fursuit, but I might run around one evening in a three piece suit.
Do you do free art? If I do art it would be free, because no one pays for stick figure art.
Do you do trades? sure, my crap art for your masterpiece, sounds fair.
Do you do badges? I doubt you would want it.
Do you do commissions? Not really.
What are your limits to drawing? Hot stick figure on stick figure action.
What is your gender? I has boy parts.
How old are you? Over a score and four years.
How tall are you? I'm 5 foot 9
Can I talk to you? sure.
Can I touch you? that's fine
How can I find you? I'll likely be wearing dark tinted glasses at all hours
Can I visit your room? Depends on my room mate
Can I buy you drinks? certainly.
Can I give you stuff? I find nothing wrong with this concept.
Can I hug or snuggle with you? sure
Are you nice? mostly
How long are you going? I should be there for the full Con.
Do you have an artist table? At home yes. There no.
If I see you, how should I get your attention? In my culture we have this utterly crazy ritual, called waving and saying hello.
Where will you be most of the time during the day/s? Who knows.
What/where will you be eating? food/not sure.
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc? yes
Can I look in your sketchbook? if I bring it.
Can I draw in your sketchbook? if I brung it
Can I take your picture? sure.

If Carl Sagan were ever to RP.
Posted 14 years agoSo I was listening to Carl Sagan in my background while RPing recently and I had this thought. "What would an RP by Carl Sagan look like?" As a note if you don't know who Carl Sagan is, he explains science in an amazing fashion. So here is my attempt at writing what an RP action by Carl Sagan would look like
***My arm is composed of trillions of cells and bio-electrical impulses from my brain cause the muscles cells to contract. Ambient light photons within the room strike my arm and partially dissipate their energy against the vast molecular cosmos that is my skin. The remaining energy of the light reflects off of my arm and travels radially outward as both a straight line particle and a contracted waveform. Multitudes of these photons travel at a near instantaneous speed, so close to zero as to be imperceptible, and passes through the semi-permeable surface of your eye. The globular distortion of this surface alters the path of the photons contracting them so that they lens and strike the back of your eye upside down from their original trajectory. Your retinas absorb this constant stream of light and sends it to your brain which processes it into a four dimensional image. Our four dimensions being length, width, height (the three physical dimensions of space) and time (the measurement of progression towards universal entropy). Within the folds of your brain this constantly updated image is quantum processed allowing you to perceive that I am oscillating my arm in a what is a shared cultural experience of me waving hello to you.***
Then whomever he was RPing with would likely post: LOL ***I wave back***
And Carl would likely ragequit because being a scientist it not so much just the what, when and where as the why and how of the event that captivates his interest and imagination.
