Hello! I've decided to maybe start talking here about recent movies I've seen. New or old, theatre or at home. Mainly talking of movies I've seen for the first time, but I may bring up things I've rewatched if I have thoughts on them. Thought this might be fun and I'd love to hear from others in the comments. May be spoilers just a heads up.

This month has been horror/spooky heavy which is really unusual for me. I don't really go for horror movies usually, but there were a couple that I was interested in seeing.

WEAPONS (2025)
We out to see this one since it's made by one of the guys in "The Whitest Kids You Know". BF said people were describing him as the white Jordan Peele which I thought was a sorta funny statement. He also did the movie Barbarian.
This movie is a mixed bag for me. I had a good time which I was watching. I did get slightly bored near the end hoping it would wrap up but I think I may have just needed to pee. Unsure, jury's out on that one. However, the more I sat and thought about it, the more problems I found with it. Not many, just little things. Like, I know this is a horror movie and supposed to drive the plot forward but why did this kid not tell anyone what was happening? This movie also did not stray from the "killing your gays" trope which is unfortunate. The suspense was cool, until the mystery was solved. That's where I got a little bored. All in all, it's a solid move. Just probs not really any rewatch ability sadly. (6/10).

SINNERS (2025)
This movie goes hard. SLAPS. Like I said, I am not a horror movie person. But I loved this movie. The setting and storytelling was so good and fleshed out. It really gave us time to get to know everyone before the killing starts. Like the whole first half of the movie. Music is great, the movie just looks pretty in general. Almost washed out but not quite. The cast was amazing, especially Michael B. Jordan. He brought so much charisma to both characters. (Yes he plays two people, sometimes even in the same shot). The effect of the shining eyes in the vampire eyes was SO well done without looking really fake or hokey. It was so subtle yet immensely creepy. There's a lot of symbolism that's really well done. In the end when they are trying to convince the main character Sammie to join them their army of the undead to play for them forever, where its mirroring a river baptism, is weirdly haunting. I'll be watching this again, it was such a bittersweet ending as well. Make sure you watch after the credits.

K-POP DEMON HUNTERS (2025)
Eh. This one didn't do it for me. I love musicals. And Sony really utilizing the Spiderverse animation style was a great choice here. The movie LOOKS cool and the music is fun...buttttt....there's like NO story. Everything is so rushed just to feature more music video like songs. And there aren't that many songs either. So we have to hear Golden like 5 times. After the 3rd time I was like "We really doing this one again?" Also didn't feel like we got to really know any of the other girls except Rumi, and even then I didn't learn that much about her. The main thing about her that I want answered NEVER gets even touched on. How did her mom fuck a demon? And why? We know her mom died but how? What happened to her dad? Why is this not addressed like AT ALL? I really like Zoey and I know literally nothing about her besides the fact that she's from Burbank. Also, I didn't give two shits about Jino. His whole redemption thing felt SO half baked. Every character did. My one biggest gripe with story too is they have this mentor figure for demon hunting, WHERE IS SHE?! Why is she not helping them? Why don't they go to her for advice? She's just hanging out at a tree. And when Rumi does go to her by herself, she's SO UNHELPFUL, and then just never seen again. Great talk, great writing guys.
I think this movie is a win for animation getting new ideas, and I'm glad people enjoy it. It's just a no from me dawg.
Great starting point, level up your writing please.
(Looks like there might be a sequel so maybe that will answer some of my questions, but I shouldn't have to rely on a sequel to enjoy a movie).

I'm a big movie fan! My two that I currently really like Lost in Translation and What's Eating Gilbert Grape?. I really enjoy movies that almost feel slice of life. Wolf Children and In This Corner of the World I also REALLY adore. Wolf Children is probably one of my favorite movies.

Hi Everyone!

Thank you all so much for liking and following me. Whether you are new here, or have been with me through the years, I really appreciate all the support this community has to offer.

That being said, I am reaching out because I feel like my FA community is my most understanding.

On Tuesday June 22nd, I was in a car accident. Me and the other parties involved are okay, but my car was left in bad shape. The front end of my car is bashed in: bumper, grill, and the hood. Bumper is destroyed and the grill is damaged, the hood took the least beating but is still busted none the less. As far as I know, the inside of the car is ok? I'm not completely sure but I'm taking it in to get checked tomorrow. By then I should have a better idea of how much everything will cost, but for now the guess is about 1k in damage.

I'm reaching out here with my gofundme to help with the costs. Most of you know me as an artist, but unfortunately art doesn't completely pay the bills. (I wish it did!) I recently had to unfollow a few artists here on this platform. And While I'm sure these people don't also follow me, I'm just gonna make a statement just in case. It's not that I don't like you as a person or don't think your art is good. It's that I'm just not a fan of the type of content you're creating, and I'd prefer not to see it on my feed.

I've had pleasant convos with some of these people, but AB was starting to fill my submission box more and more. I'd have to wade through all of these pieces just to find other art. It was making me uncomfortable, and so I unfollowed.

Again I'm going to stress, I don't have any beef with the people in this community or even the community as a whole. You do you. If that's what makes you happy, great; I'm happy for you. It's just not a think I'm into.

God it's been, like, a month right?! Wow how time flies!

Thought I'd give a little update to my other journal I did a month ago, and some stuff thats been going on!

So first off my friend with leukemia:
Doing better! He made a turn around while I was up visiting, and was told that there were no more cancer cells in his blood. However this doesn't mean he's home free. He was told that this sort of cancer pops back up, so he will have to do regular doses of chemo every few months. He is waiting to find a bone marrow donor, and with that he will kick this cancer's butt! I have no idea how to tell if I'm a match, but I should find out...

As for me things are slowing down but are picking up pace. Art is coming out slowly but surely. If you are in the LA area, I am going to be vending at Fickle Wish's Back to School themed art market in Little Tokyo. It's Saturday the 16th. If you want to come down and say hi please do and support local artists!

I was supposed to be looking after Tam's place while she was on Vacay in Florida, but they've put off the trip until the destruction of Irma is cleaned up. We're both bummed, but there are people in far worse circumstances. Can't cry over spilled milk.

But now she can attend the art market with me which is great!

I can't really think of much else...I'm really excited for the new expansion of the Pokemon TCG. Shining Legends looks really great! I think Burning Shadows was over-hyped a bit...

Hey guys just sort of a small update I guess???

I've been updating sort of frequently, but I don't really post journals often. So I figured I'd sort of keep people up to date. I've been busy doing commissions and such for people, but now I am at a good point where I am only doing one. However, my part time job has not been doing well of paying me and it's sort of taking a toll right now, because of some news I got recently.

My friend, (or someone I'd like to think more than that) contacted me a bit ago and broke the news that he has been diagnosed with Leukemia. It was a really hard thing to hear, but I know it's harder on him. He's not doing well, and I knew that I needed to see him because this may be my last chance. Luckily he's hospitalized in the same state, but it's still far. So I was fortunate enough to have Tam accompany me, and have a few friends house her and I.

So to help pay my up there since my hours have been cut recently, I'm doing some 30 USD theme commissions. I'll put the link in when it goes up. I'm doing everything I can to help him, there's not much I can do, so I just need to be there for him emotionally.

Hey guys! I know I'm going back and forth talking to some of you in notes, but I just wanted to let you know I'm on Vacation until this saturday. I don't know how much I will be able to work and talk while I'm here, I'm not in my hotel much, but today I will be here until around 4 PST. Then it's time to zipline down Fremont! As of now, the discount commissions with the theme "Fantasy Class" are closed. I got a great response on these and hope to open more themed sales in the future. As of right now though, I am trying to dwindle down these bad boys and get on to other works I have! I will post all the commissions when I am done in a group picture.

I don't know when I'll do another sale, but it won't be for a while. I am going to Vegas at the end of June for a week long vacation! And I don't want to really be thinking about commissions while I'm there. This is my time to destress and relax. I love doing art but I don't want to worry commissioners if I'm gone for a week.

Today my BF and I of 2 and half years broke up. I'm ok, I saw signs, I've sort of known we were a ticking time bomb for a while. He was distant, not as affectionate, didn't want to go out and spend time together, so I sort of knew we were done. I still love him, but he had problems just as I have mine. We agreed to stay friends, but I don't know how much of that will last. We don't have a lot in common, so idk...anyway I'm ranting. I'm feeling drained because of it. Hopefully I'll feel like myself in a week or so. Its time to move on.
