After being informed of this, I became angry say I couldnt be happy all the time. I failed to see this was a 24/7 state and I did not get better. And for interfering with your personal affairs. meditation on what this website has done for me
General | Posted 14 years agoThis website has become a distraction. As of now, I have been a furry for a year. I now reflect upon this website and how it has impacted my life.
I was much more stable before I became a furry. I usually did not have many attachments due to what it could do to me if I lost said object. Becoming a furry sparked a new stage in my growing up. I wanted to be more emotional, laugh more, be angry more. So I did. This made me much more vulnerable.
Finding FA I soon made my first online friends. An easy utopia in which you could become a lot closer to someone you talk to very little to than a ordinary friend you would be with in the actual world. Its funny to me when I see that the word "love" is used so much online and not in the real world. But then again most fights are started online. I realized most of the things said on the web are lies.
In that, the friends you have made on FA are only two two dimensional and that none of us are seeing the full scope of our best friends. If this is true, the friendship, itself, is partially a lie.
Yes, there is actual friendship found online, but that can be broken much more easily than a real life one. The normal furry, is usually very sensitive to insult. Unable to cope with such in the outside world, they face inward to the computer to avoid such a human inevitability. Unfortunately the computer only gives one tone. Friendly conversation can be turned into a argument. Where is this furry "love" then?
I have seen a ton of drama in this one year. More then I have ever seen outside with real people. Most of this drama is centered around gay folk. (Pardon my sterotypicalty) I have been part of some, and tried to stop others. But it seems to me, gays dont sway to logic and reason when mostly needed, and are quick to attack.
My first and only relationship was on here. It ended in a disaster. One that would have planted a seed of paranoia in my mind, about this only world I realized I made part of my daily ritual. I began to see, just how hollow must of us are on here. Even Facebook has more warmth on it then this place does. Words here mostly mean nothing.
After my breakup, which I took hard, my vision of my online friends have changed from its cordial state, to a now bland and raw one. I enjoyed the "company" of only a hand full of people. I did not have an attraction to someone until just a while ago. Months after the breakup, but alas, It would not work. This ends my search for a partner, mate, gf, bf, whatever you want to call it. It wont work for me *chuckles*
As for my friends, i only speak to one or two now daily. This is for either my own good, or theirs. That is not out of spite.
My awakening has sparked just as my life is now starting as a young adult, and I now see I have a life to run.
This website was pushed me back with little to offer me.
