Soooo, y’all think it might be worth taking some art classes? Tbh I could work on the fundamentals more since those could always use some work and color theory since it’s not very intuitive for me ^ ^;

I recently watched a video by Marc Brunet and I’ve learned a lot from his tutorials over the years, even used some of his brushes. Anyways he always plugs in his art class stuff and it’s on sale atm so that’s partially why my eyes are on it and why I’m making this journal, buuuut I don’t want to be too impulsive…

I suppose I’m worried it’d be a waste of money cause well, I didn’t get anywhere after pursuing art in college x_x hence why I’m in round two to get that real job. I do consider myself self taught for the most part, and I felt like college didn’t really add much for me art wise, alsoooo the teacher ended up showing us YT videos during class 😬 so I feel like I paid to watch stuff that was free… heck, I still pull up how to videos whenever I’m messing around with editing videos and such. Anyways I don’t ever see myself working in a studio or getting a commercial job for art, despite that being something I wanted… a combination of a loss of confidence and just looking at the reality of things :’) we all can’t be winners TvT… but I still want to learn, experiment with my style and art in general, to push my self further then before. Plus I’d like to make better art for y’all too. And make cool stuff with my Ocs :p

I just don’t wanna toss money at the wind and for nothing to come of it :/ if you’ve taken art classes before, do you feel like they left an impact and it was worth while?

Well, after learning more about the fall of past online chat services it seems they rise up and eventually crash after 5 -10yrs…. So with discord's new “age verification policy” going live in March, 1 I will not be handing them my ID(I do not trust them nor their third parties to keep my info safe). 2 Depending on how usable it becomes after the update I may discontinue use, really as long as I can DM/add people that's all that matters to me, buuuut I don't like that discord is essentially creeping on your conversion and such (on that note, if they're watching us it should have been easy for them to bust PDF rings/ report IP addresses, makes one think 🤔 ). 3 I’ll be looking into alternatives or handling communication on site instead. I’ve heard of Stoat which is an open source look-alike and Matrix is decentralized.

Anyways idk, I think my fear now is what if all websites start demanding our personal information? How much longer do we have till that happens? God that's gonna be one massive cyber security crisis, anyways I’ll keep it at that for now.

Yooo, I probably should have written a journal about bases before making a couple ^ ^; nevertheless, lets move on!

So like, do people actually use/ enjoy bases? (Forgive me, but I don't really get it tbh…plus I’m not really the target audience for them) What is it that you like about them? What makes you think a base is good/bad? F2U vs P2U (what makes one worth buying in the first place)?

One of the reasons I'd like to continue making them is because they force me to practice my line art and I don't have to worry about rendering it out later. I don't think my current line art is bad, but ironically when drawing it’s my least favorite part to do cause I feel like it takes forever, and kinda loses that sketchy flow. Idk maybe it’s an endurance problem for me.

And the other reason is well, money ^ ^; buuut I don't really like to push my patreon or ko-fi since they feel like I’m doing ads, and like am I really offering anything worthwhile? Idk, maybe I'm just getting too inside my own head about it lol. But I'm out here trying, so there's that at least XD
