I didn't personally know Dragoneer, nor did I know about the community he helped to elevate. I've only joined FA a few years ago, and while I don't personally consider myself to be a Furry for I just merely enjoy the artwork, FA has help others to freely express themselves.
While there has been Ups and Downs, with minor drama that I was involved in the past, my overall experience on FurAffinity has been overwhelmingly positive, as FA is easily the most inclusive and least toxic websites I've ever used.
It's up to us to ensure that FurAffinity remains a open and inclusive place for all, where everyone is free to express themselves. I wish the best for Dragoneer's friends and family and all who call FA their home.

My Code of Conduct
Posted 10 months agoGreetings all! I thought it would be prudent that I share with you my Code of Conduct regarding this account.
While this isn’t a political account, and I don’t intend to post political content, I thought that I’d make my stance clear after I experienced some minor drama a while back. Don’t worry, I didn’t say anything mean or rash. In fact, I didn’t say anything to begin with. I started the “conversation” by posting a source to the issue at hand. I’m a university student, so citing sources is key.
To oversimplify, what I did was that I critiqued some users' rather ignorant positions regarding Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ+ Rights, and other social issues. Needless to say, they got triggered and some even blocked me. What’s funny is that I provided sources to back up my position, while they had nothing to back up their ignorant (and I would argue bordering on bigoted) positions. And because they couldn’t handle pushback to their ignorant and bigoted worldview, they resorted to blocking. Needless to say, I take that as a win!
Now, I was planning on making a longer post but

TLDR
Black Lives Matter, Trans Rights are Human Rights, I fully support the LGBTQ+ Community, I advocate for justice and equality for all, and I firmly stand against hate, bigotry, and discrimination.
I mean, the Fur Affinity directors made a post in support of Black Lives Matter, and you should too!
Probably the biggest mistake that I have made regarding these users is that I assumed that they would be open to a conversation and having their position challenged. But I was wrong. Not everyone is open-minded and open to having a conversation or having their positions challenged. Some folks are just too set in their ways, and the only thing that you can do is to not engage with them and just ignore them if possible. I’ve learned my lesson; engaging with hateful, ignorant people is a waste of time as some folks are just too far gone.
As for me, well my Code of Conduct regarding my account is that if I encounter any bigoted comment or even a generic comment from a user who I know to have or promotes bigoted beliefs, I will remove that comment. Now, I’m not one to block someone as I personally believe that pre-emptively blocking someone is cowardly. So, I will not be blocking anyone unless they are like legitimately harassing me.
I know that we all say dumb things, and I do think that as rare as it may be, that people can change. So, I’ll give people a chance to change, but I will not tolerate bigoted comments, those will be removed.
I’ll be moderating my comments section for any bigoted content and will take appropriate action as I will not let hate fester.
Now, I won’t be naming anyone here, but if you would like to know more about the drama I’ve gone through, and which specific users I now have on my personal blacklist, feel free to send me a note!
Though I will say, there is this one user who just seems to spend 24/7 on their keyboard ranting nonstop about “Disney Going Woke” and other anti-SJW, borderline reactionary and bigoted nonsense. Like bro, get off your computer, stop using your journals like it’s Twitter, get a life, and touch some grass!
Said user’s positions regarding LGBTQ+ people and marginalized folks are rather ambiguous, but the fact that they complain nonstop about modern Disney movies (with like zero good critiques apart from “there’s women and gay people in the movie, so it’s ‘Woke’ which means its bad” which has nothing to do with well… anything) and does cover and promotes actual bigots. Yeah, I think we both know what their position is.

I like to think that my “political positions” are good and sensible (unless you’re a reactionary who screeches 24/7 against the “Woke Mob” whatever that means or some other nonsense you created in your head) as most people should support LGBTQ+ rights and the rights of marginalized people. Human Rights shouldn’t be a Political Subject, but so long as it is, I will continue to advocate for marginalized folks.

Not to get too personal here, but I don't live in "you know where" so if you're not feeling well due to the results of "what happened" I am open to hearing you out.

Regarding my content, I deeply apologize for not posting more. I was busy, I am currently attending university, and I also had writer's block, etc. I hope you folks can understand, and I hope I can finally finish editing and transferring my content here, and start posting new content. Also, in the case of "you know who" declaring that furries are the "enemy within" and plans to remove furry websites or whatever, I have all of my content saved separately on a physical flash drive as a backup just in case.
Stay safe people, take care of each other, continue to advocate against bigotry and hate, and work together to ensure that the Furry Community remains an safe and inclusive place for people, especially marginalized groups, to freely express themselves.
