Waxed Print Lottery!
General | Posted 16 years agoI've been hearing a lot of "I wish I could afford to buy your
stuff", which is very flattering - and completely appreciated!
Well, I've taken notice, and In an effort to extend accessibility
outwards I had an idea that I thought might be a fun little
exercise to try out!
Im going to be opening up a print lottery. There will be 10 slots
available, and $5 per slot entry.
Everyone will receive a 3x4" waxed print, that will be selected
out of a hat randomly by me. One person, instead of receiving
the 3x4" print, will receive a 9.5x13" print of their choosing!
So everybody wins, but one person wins BIG! Feel free to
buy as many slots as you'd like. To put it in perspective,
if you spend $50, you would get nine 3x4" prints, and one
9.5x13" print.
Examples of the 9.5x13" Prints:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/Creeley
9.5x13" digital print on Hanhemuele Fine Art Photo Rag
[Image size 8x10 w/ white border] Editions of 50
Example of the Mini Waxed Prints:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3852209
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3852214
3x4" digital print on Hanhemuele Fine Art Photo Rag
saturated in beeswax. They smell great (like honey)
and are semi-translucent when held up to the light.
Editions of 100
The little guys will also be available for individual purchase
if you are interested!
Pay-pal only please: dlorenze[at]gmail.com
If there is enough interest I'll continue doing the lottery, and
the selection mini-prints will be continually expanded.
Kind Regards and Well Wishes,
Creeley

Lifting of the Veil
General | Posted 16 years agoHi Everyone!
I have recently exhibited my most recent body of work "The lifting of the Veil" [(Greek: Ἀποκάλυψις Apokálypsis; "lifting of the veil" or "revelation")] A series of 15 digital paintings explore the apocryphal tradition drawing upon mythologies, religions, the alchemical, archetypes, cultural visions & curiosities of our own end.
"A disclosure of something hidden from the majority of mankind in an era dominated by falsehood and misconception. An engagement with future events made through a dream, or a vision. The inevitable draw of the imagination towards our own end. The element of the mysterious. The world resurfaces anew. Lonely sentinels stand rickety, reclaimed by nature's lace. Woke up timeless."
If anyone is interested, signed/editioned prints are available and may be located here:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/Creeley
I very much look forward to hearing your thoughts/feedback. Thanks for your time.
Best Regards,
~Creeley

General | Posted 16 years agoAnniversary time!
General | Posted 16 years agoRight around this time last year, [February 7th, 2009 03:12 AM to be exact] I started my first painting as a way to turn off my brain after streams of excessive photo-work. Hah, its been a rad process, and Im finding myself increasingly lost to its pull, and surprised at all the unexpected great things it has brought into my life.
Its funny to think now that this represents the anchor of a year, and of initial impulse. Its good to be a little embarrassed by your "old" work, right? Good times. I also wanted to thank you all for your engagement and responses. Thanks guys! Anyway, cheers, and looking forward to another year of painting.
Best,
Creeley

Cartographic Happenings
General | Posted 16 years agoSo I met up with
NormanDGuerre yesterday who has a serious, and rad interest in the cartographic, and has been developing some of his own maps -- and so we whipped up a fun collaboration in that vein, using some of the skills and techniques he's been developing -- which can be found Here It was fun, and a completely different way of working for me. Please take a look!
