Completely Free Raffle, GO! ~Closed~
Posted 12 years agoI will be hosting a raffle for a completely free painting!
The level of effort will be akin to that in pieces such as this https://www.furaffinity.net/view/10407057
It will be one single image, fully coloured and rendered, complete with background. The two things I ask is for nothing absurdly difficult, like 14 characters doing the hokey pokey, and the usual of nothing pornographic or over-sexualized. If this isn't clear enough, this can be discussed with the winner. Just know that I won't draw you anything like that.
Your entry ticket is a comment on this journal or a note to me linking back to a journal you posted. This journal you post must contain a link back to THIS journal and to my page. I will post the entrees here.

See you, High School
Posted 12 years agoAs of yesterday I have graduated from my high school. It's exciting to be moving on from where I've been for what seems like so long, but at the same time I'm terrified of what's to come. I'll keep moving forward, though, just like I did through the rough parts of high school. Making it through those hard times would have been impossible if it weren't for some great friends.
I started to make a list of you all, but I soon realized that list would just be too damn big. You people know who you are, and you probably know that I appreciate everything you've done for me. If you don't, well, that's an error on my part. Everyone I've come into contact with these high school years has taught me something about myself, or helped me through a dark time, and I can not thank you all enough.
That being said, the current plan is to move to Colorado sometime during or after June. I will be getting an apartment alone and attending the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. I'm curious to see what the classes will be like, and what the curriculum material will be, but more so than that, I'm just excited to start my adventure of being an artist in a different setting entirely. This is a step forward not just in my personal life, but in my life as an artist, too. I'm so excited to see what stuff I will be able to make during and after my years there.
Thank you again to everyone, and I'll see you all on the other side~

Critique My Art!!
Posted 12 years agoThere is a competition coming up for the Eastern Kansas League of Artists. I never imagined that they'd have an event like this, but as part of it I am being asked to provide one of my digital works. So I figured what better way to go about selecting one than to ask you all which one you prefer! Additionally, I intend to touch up whichever piece I end up selecting, so critique/advice to help on my pieces is greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Commissions: For Friend
Posted 12 years agoHey squiddies, a good pal of mine,
Mavuriku, is currently under the stress of some financial ailments. She's doing commissions herself, and she would certainly appreciate any additional business, but I will also be doing commissions to try and help out. If you've ever wanted me to draw you something, now is the time to strike! Send me a note and we can discuss content and prices :3

The Pencil Project
Posted 12 years agoSo this marks the beginning of a new little project. I think pencil art is extremely undervalued, and while I am an enormous fan of coloured art and painting with colours, I usually end up making art only in pencil. So these updates will be more frequent and usually just straight out of the sketchbook. The idea is to show off what's in progress for me and to get feedback on my day-to-day art. I'm taking on lots of new projects, working more, and doing things for my college preparation, so I really am losing lots of time that I normally devote to rendering digital art. This is a way for me to still be active while getting the stuff I need for college done.
I still plan to work on full paintings, but those will be reserved for my school classes and will likely be unrelated to furs. I will post them if anyone would like to see. This is all about receiving feedback from you guys, so any at all is strongly encouraged. Also, where would you guys like to see the art? Posted as full submissions or contained to the scraps? Finally any new suggestions for traditional mediums would also be welcome.
Thank you, and have a rad day~

Pencil Art Question
Posted 13 years agoOkay, so I really would like to draw more with my tablet, and learn how to use that better. That being said, I simply have not had the time/energy to sit down at my desk and actually pump out some digital art. It takes way longer than my pencil stuff does, and usually turns out worse.
I have continued to draw daily in my sketchbook though, which bears the question; do you guys want to see some of that stuff? My scanner isn't working, so the quality of picture probably won't be very good until I can get that up and running, and of course it will all be white, black, and the shades in between.
So yes, please leave your comments/opinions/suggestions below. I do have a tumblr where I post occasionally(where my recent pencil arts will go until I make a decision here), and I also re-post fun art/awesome things there too.
You can find that here http://crinklecutcanine.tumblr.com/
I do have a Weasyl now too, but Haven't dived very deep at all into it. I might just toss all of these sketches there.
Well, until next time, take care everyone!

Searching for an artist to trade with
Posted 13 years agoIf you know anyone, or you yourself would be interested in an art trade, please let me know!
I've been exercising my creativity while FA was down, and now I'd like the chance to do something with a fellow artist or two, so any offers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Colorado
Posted 13 years agoThis most recent trip to Colorado was spectacular.
I took a week long class in character development at RMCAD, which was oh so much fun. I met some really unique and interesting people, and made some nice new friends too!
At this point, I am sold on Colorado.
I want to move here as soon as I graduate, because it seems to be the optimal choice of all the things I want out of a city. The school, the community, the friends I've made.
The big thing to worry about now is paying for college.
And finding a room mate, because there is absolutely NO WAY I can afford an apartment or anything for the matter on my own. So saving up and searching for someone to room with are my two big goals right now.
So yes; it was phenomenal, and I will miss the amazing, kind, and unique people I talked with while here.
Seeya around! Have a good-hearted day!

Clocking out
Posted 13 years agoHeading out of town to Colorado to take a class at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD)
Hopefully it will be tons of fun, looking forward to it. The class is on character development which is something I was never too good at, so I hope to learn some while I'm there! ^.^
Also should be chillin' with
Caninehybrid on Friday night, and looking forward to that even more because we barely get to see each other.
Well, I leave in the morning; seeya! Have a rad week internet!

Paw-ppurtunity! O.o
Posted 13 years agoI wanna draw some moar paw art, so post your char or red, and I'll pick one or two I like the most and sketch out some paw art of 'em
But here's the fun part; My last 3 pics have all featured my new character, Mat, on a couch. Almost accidentally, there is something special about the three couches, they're all related in some way. If you can guess what it is, I'll fully colour your sketch for free! C: Good luck!

Wrist pain?
Posted 13 years agoI've been having some wrist pains while drawing recently, and not even for after all that long (just 2 short hours ). Anybody know anything I can do to alleviate it apart from any painkillers or medication?
Brave? More like BEARS!
Posted 13 years agoOkay, so just got back from seeing Pixar's latest. The animation was standard affair, same with the story. Pretty setting, nice music, but FFFF BEARS!!
I won't spoil anything, but I mean, c'mon. Bears.
Just go watch it.

Off to A-kon!!
Posted 13 years agoI'll be heading south to Dallas, Texas to go to A-kon 2012, the best convention I've ever been to.
I'm really looking forward to it; I'll be leaving early Friday morning, and my cousin is gonna pick me up and take me to the con. I'll probably be meeting up with
Caninehybrid and putz around with her crew for most of the time, but I'm sure I'll end up rollin' around by myself, but hey, always good to meet new people.
I'll be back Monday morning, and have the house to myself the next week. So seeya around!
Have an awesome day!

Off of school-Commissions?
Posted 13 years agoI'm done with school work, and I wanted to pick up some extra cash because I'm heading to A-kon in a few weeks, plus I was thinking about buying a bike to save money on gas. Anyone interested?
Quick question about adult/nude art
Posted 13 years agoDo you all find any less value in art if it's adult/nude/rule 34?
Is it just the art you care about and you overlook the fact that it's nude, or does it lose respect in your eyes?
I'm a bit curious about people's opinions on the matter.

Please help!! IMPORTANT!
Posted 13 years ago
Her mate just lost his job, and that's basically their only source of income besides whatever she gets from commissions. You can read all about it here http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3337171/
This is someone whose art I've watched grow, and experienced. If nothing else, I'm hoping we can help her and repay her for her contributions to this community.
Hell, I'll even do commissions, and give her all the money, I really don't care as long as we can do something to help this artist out!!!
Spring Break + Updates
Posted 13 years agoHello everyone!
My trip to Colorado was nice, despite the company I had there. The art college I went to look at, RMCAD, seemed very accredited and like they had real talent there, so if I still make the decision to go to an artsay school, that will probably be it. Plus the weather and people in Denver seem nice too.
I showed them my portfolio, which consisted of a lot of still life drawings of things like water bottles and my face, and the man who interviewed me said that it was "very good....a good basic structure", so that made me happy.
Partially because I have this huge weight off my shoulder, and partially because i have art block like a bitch and can't come up with ideas, I've been taking a lot of time off from drawing.
This is kind of good, considering how stressed I was about my portfolio, but at the same time I'm not really getting any practice. It's spring break right now, and the two friends I have are out of town, so when I'm not at work I'm home alone doing random unproductive shit and I really can't seem to get out of this rut. I want to draw, but there are just no ideas at all. Every time I draw something it always seems so rigid and cookie cutter; I want to make something more fun, that is actually doing something other than standing there. Any help would be mondo appreciated.
So, I suppose that's it. Have a great St Patty's day everyone! Don't drink n' drive! X3

UP-UP-UPDATES!
Posted 14 years agoJust a quick hit on stuff going on with art, friends, and stuff like that.
I started talking to this really awesome guy who has shown me and been my consultant for art. He's helped me immeasurably, and I feel like I'm a great deal better since talking with him. I also find that he's someone who means a lot to me, and that I look forward to coming home and talking, arting, and having fun with him. He's been such a good friend to me, and I spend so much time trying to draw stuff for him because I feel so passionate. It's honestly a bit weird.
I still draw all the time. I've switched to tablet mostly for now, but it's getting done. I really do enjoy it. I'll still take requests if people want to comment or note me or whatever. I'll even do adult things now, as long as I can make them artistic. I'm stepping out of my boundaries and am drawing more in public, practicing anatomy and things like that in my spare time. Speaking of....
I got my first job. I'm a waiter at a local burger place, and while it can be a tad unsavory, it's really a good job for a first one. I make $2.13 an hour and whatever else in tips. Usually, tips are about $20 a night on a good night(I work nights only). No idea whether or not this is good, but I don't think it's bad.
Lastly, I'm going to Homecoming with one of my long time friends, Katie. I asked her by drawing a My Little Pony with "Homecoming?" on it.We're not dating per se, so I'm still totally available to any *cough cough* erm *cough* sexy dragons *cough* ;)
Oh right. I'm changing my fursona to that of a dragon. It's as though I've changed a lot recently, and I'm an entirely different person from when NTC was created. Also, scales rock, dragons suit me a bit more, and dragons are just AWESOME.
But truly, it feels like I retain a good portion of canine aspects to me, so I'll still consider myself a therian wolf, it's just not the presence I want as my character.
I believe that's it for now. Have a good day everyone.

Very, Very Sick
Posted 14 years agoIt is that time of the year again when I get a cold. But this year, it's no ordinary cold, it's SUPER COLD!
ahem. It has required me to stay in bed almost perpetually, and has whittled my focus down to that of a small grapefruit. It's nearly impossible to get anything done.
Plus I'm so weak that i can barely hold a pencil, and my drawings aren't that good right now, but I don't think it's anything to worry about.
I can't wait to get better so I can start drawing again. That's about it :D

Posted 14 years agoI was just curious what kind of art people want to see more of from me.
I know i haven't uploaded much as of late, but I've been practicing anatomy and stuff, which isn't too exciting...
So please let me know what you want to see more of and what I can fix. :) Thank you
