Long story short,
pianoskunk is in dire need of either a place to stay and/or the money to get there. He's tried looking for work everywhere only to get turned down, and he is only a couple weeks away from being completely homeless. Guys, this is my very best friend in the whole world...I refer to him often as the brother that I never had. And I'll be damned if I see him out on the street.
Please read the information in his journal for ways to help directly. Or if you cannot, just keep spreading the word. Bad things should not happen to good people, especially those I hold so close and dear to me. Thank you.

Looking for someone to do an icon-ish commission...
Posted 14 years agoI'm looking for someone to give me a hand with something that I've been wanting to do for a little while now. As some of you know, I am the owner and G< of the Bridgeport Bandicoots of the
fhl. Everything has gone along fine and dandy up to this point...except that I would like to have a logo done for the team. If anyone is doing icon commissions right now, put me through to them. I'd like to get this taken care of quickly.

Posted 14 years ago(Some of the players named were not involved in this game. This is just from the
fhl site.)
"We got our tails kicked. Plain and simple"
The 'Coots run in the FHL Preseason Tournament came to a grinding halt as they were clearly outclassed by the Green Bay Tundra in the second round. It seemed like that the game was an uphill struggle from the opening draw as the Tundra were able to control the flow of play from the beginning. The defense held for the most part until Helga Karlson stepped up and found the back of the net on a one-timer set up by Joshua Underhill late in the period. It could have easily been two or three at the intermission if not for some brilliant saves by Saaz, and an alert play by Nathan Tamurello to clear the puck off the line near the end of the period.
Things started out well for the 'Coots in the second, but they quickly grew worse as Green Bay would score twice within a span of a minute and a half. The first goal was the result of a good defensive play by Brent Howl, who would find Marty Walnut and "The Nutcracker" would, no pun intended, bury his shot to make it 2-0. After the goal, the Tundra would maintain the momentum, and captain Bjorn Sandell would capitalize on the confusion by the 'Coots defense and score on a blistering slapshot from just inside the blue line. This infuriated coach Sebastien Giroux as he thought the play should have been ruled offside, but replays showed that Sandell was able to keep the puck inside the zone.
The lone bright spot for the 'Coots came in the third, when Charles Roberts was the beneficiary of a big rebound on a shot from Vesa Turunen. That would make it 4-1 as Howl scored early in the period, and that would be where Karlson would take the game over. She would add a second and a third goal to put the game far out of reach, and things would get chippy when play would stop as the frustrated 'Coots took out their anger on their opponents. But the Tundra refused to cave in, which was a testament to head coach Rolph Panacek's ability to maintain control on his bench. It was a bitter loss to a bitter rival, and one that will linger in the minds of players, coaches and fans as the buildup to the start of the regular season continues.

FHL Preseason: Bandicoots 4, Roses 3

The Bandicoots got off to a flying start in the FHL Preseason Tournament as they defeated a very strong Portland Roses squad, 4-3. It didn't take long for the 'Coots to strike as Charles Roberts capitalized on a mistake in the Roses' end, finding a streaking Vesa Turunen two and a half minutes in to take a 1-0 lead. It would soon end up 2-0 as Roberts and Turunen would display some slick passing before setting up Nathan Tamurello to unleash a vicious one-timer that Roses' netminder Chris Collie didn't have a chance on. Portland would claw one back when Simba Sefu held in a clearing attempt, then found Backdraft Wolf on the point. He would fire a shot home through traffic and past Saaz to make it 2-1 at the first intermission.
Tamurello would find the back of the net again in the second period when captain Chris Delucci sent him and Turunen on a 2-on-1 break. Turunen would slot the pass through the sprawling Wingdog and Tamurello was able to get it over the line to make it 3-1. From there, the Roses would wake up and control the latter half of the second period, upping the pressure and forcing a mistake that would land on the stick of Zyle Vaughn. He put a nifty move on the goaltender and would score to once again make it a one-goal game after 40 minutes.
Roberts was by far and away the best player for the 'Coots in this game, and he would be duly rewarded midway through the third when he gathered a rebound off a Bjorn Grafeldr shot and beat Chris Collie over the glove hand to make it 4-2. But the Roses were not done yet, as Vaughn would score his second goal of the game with six minutes left to make it 4-3, with Wingdog making up for his error by threading a pass through two defenders to his lutrine teammate. From there, Saaz would make a couple of big stops, including one on a 2-on-1 rush that denied Vaughn a hat trick as it somehow hit his glove, and he was able to recover. That was the break the 'Coots needed to ice the game and secure a spot in the second round, where they would face division rival Green Bay.
Three Stars (unofficial)
3rd Star: Zyle Vaughn, Portland
2nd Star: Saaz, Bridgeport
1st Star: Nathan Tamurello, Bridgeport
After the game:
"The boys played a good game out there, but we need to clean up the mistakes in our own end. It burned us once and nearly did a couple of times, but it's still preseason. We've got a long way to go." - Head coach Sebastien Giroux
"Hard work and determination were what helped us tonight, especially there. We did a good enough job clearing the net, and after the point man committed, it was just a matter of who got to it first. I just threw it to a place where V (Vesa Turunen) was going and it was on from there." - Defenseman Chris Delucci, on the Bandicoots' third goal of the game
"Oh well, we put up a fight in our first game but wasn't quite a enough. Good luck to Bridgeport and may they go far. It's an honor to score the first goal for the Roses now we got to do some some position experimentation to find our perfect chemistry." - Portland defenseman Backdraft Wolf

What a week it has been for the Bandicoots as they prepare for the start of the upcoming FHL season!
The 2nd and 3rd rounds of the draft saw the 'Coots bring in a pair of European imports to the squad. In the second round, there were still a few quality players left on the board, but the decision was made to bring in Russian forward Viktor Andreev. A lupine from St. Petersburg, Andreev was discovered by scout Janne Leppaketo, who was impressed by his speed and his abilities as a defensive-minded winger. Andreev was excited about the prospect of playing in the FHL, and his tail was surely wagging when he got the call. "I didn't expect to be selected in the second round," he said through a translator, "Hopefully I can make an impact for Bridgeport and have a place in the FHL." The final round of the draft saw the selection of ursine defenseman Bjorn Grafeldr, a product of Sweden whose veteran presence and calm under pressure should be a key to any success that the 'Coots will have in the upcoming season. Head coach Sebastien Giroux spoke highly of Grafeldr, saying that Grafeldr "will be a major factor during the upcoming season."
Once the draft was over, the 'Coots were not done fortifying their roster, adding forwards Pavel Yasmiranov and Charles Roberts to the club. Yasmiranov, a malamute and a natural center, is also originally from Russia. And while his English is better than his compatriot Viktor Andreev, his combination of skill and grit will be a welcome addition to the club. Roberts, a draconian forward who is a natural winger, is a power forward who loves to drive the net, play the body and is quick to the draw in the faceoff circle. "Charles is a real warrior," said Giroux after Roberts' first practice with the club on Wednesday, "He may still be a little raw and have drawbacks as a reptilian, but he's a quality player and we're lucky to have him as a Bandicoot."
With the season drawing near, the Bandicoots are focused on getting back to the playoffs, where they were eliminated in the first round by division rival Hamilton. With a team that is still young, there is room for improvement for everybody, and the 'Coots will look to put their prowess on display in the FHL Preseason Tournament, where they will face Portland. The Roses look to be a formidable challenge, but the 'Coots are up for the task. "We get who we get," said winger Nathan Tamurello after practice on Friday, "We're prepared to take on anyone in the league, and we can't wait. The intensity in practice has picked up and hopefully we can carry that into the game on Monday."

We are live at the FHL Draft, where the 'Coots had the sixth overall pick in the draft. Owner/GM Croco Chilton was possibly looking to trade up to make a run at highly coveted defense prospect Antero Ansikorpi, but no deals came his way and Ansikorpi went second to the Jacksonville Gators. "We knew that Ansikorpi had drawn a lot of attention with his combine and the game film we saw of him in Finland," said assistant coach Mathieu Garreau, "but Coach Giroux and the rest of the staff had a couple of backup options in mind." And the one that fell to them was Saaz, a sabertooth tiger goaltender who was highly regarded after the combine as well. "Cats are naturally good goaltenders," said 'Coots goalie coach Dan Fosse, himself a feline, "We tend to have good reaaction and reflexes naturally, but Saaz also was square to the shooter more often than not. He just needs to work a little on getting down into his butterfly and covering the five-hole a little better. Also from what we saw he gave up quite a few rebounds, so we'll work with him on that. But overall I think he is a solid goalie, and we saw him make a few great saves with his glove so we're happy that Croc went out and got him."
What's Chilton thinking for his next move in the draft? "I'm maybe looking at trying to find a defenseman that can move the puck ahead and perhaps be our power play quarterback, but (Chris) Delucci seems to be good enough at that. So I think what's next on the agenda would be that creative forward that can dish the puck and set up goals." And Delucci was bestowed the honor of becoming the 'Coots new captain on Saturday as well, with Chilton and head coach Sebastien Giroux presenting him his number 6 sweater with the captain's 'C' on it. "I think the last time I was the captain of a team was back in peewees when I was 11 and living in Buffalo," he said, laughing, "But it's an honor to be given the 'C', and I'll try to lead this team to the best of my abilities." Center Vesa Turunen and winger Nathan Tamurello were named the team's alternate captains and were present with Delucci in the team's draft war room.

Posted 14 years agoI'm putting the word out because my very best friend in the world is in desperate need of help and I seriously want to see him get out of this situation and be happy for a change. He goes by
pianoskunk and I've known him for 3-1/2 years, of which he has become the brother I've never had. Right now, he is living with his father in Florida who...to say that he's being a dick toward him would be putting it lightly. He just recently told me about a job opportunity back where he used to live in Arkansas and needs to get a plane ticket to head up that way to interview and land the position. Sure it may be for Walmart, but it is for the distribution center up around where their headquarters are in the far northwest corner of the state, and so he'd be getting a decent amount of money if he were to get signed on.
It's just getting there that's the problem. And after his father stole the money that he was saving up for that, he's pretty much got nothing where if he's gonna do this, he needs to do it NOW. So here is what I am proposing: I would like to be able to buy his ticket back to Arkansas. But with my own financial situation not looking too good for me to do it, I cannot do it on my own.
Here is where you can come in and help. First, if you want to know more about the situation at hand, it'd be best for you to send a note to
pianoskunk directly as he can fill you in a lot better than I can. Second, if you can help out by sending money, please send it via Paypal to croco83(at)gmail.com with "Piano Skunk" in the subject line. The ticket from my understanding is around $150 today, but it may go up in price so I'm thinking that a good safe zone would be somewhere between $200 and $300. If we meet our goal and you send in anything after that, you will get it back. Like I said, I've got my own problems to figure out, but this is all about my friend here.
If you cannot contribute with money, then spread the word around. He is a genuinely good guy and I hate to see him so down on his luck all the time. This is probably his best chance to finally get his life going in the right direction again, as he is also doing online courses and this job opportunity will help him out with that as well. So if you can, please help me out. This would mean a lot to me.
(UPDATE: Mission accomplished! I got close to $300 from a fur in Germany to help him out last night, so we went through and got the ticket.)

Help a Croccy Out for Christmas?
Posted 15 years agoYou guys know that I don't ask for help when it comes to money unless it is absolutely dire. . .and I need a little bit of Christmas magic just to get me through the week. (EDIT: I'm screwed. Just got notice that my bank account is $134 in the red...now I'm not sure if I'll be able to work next week. If there was a time to help a fella out, this is it! )

Footpaws?
Posted 15 years agoDoes anyone know of someone that can do footpaws for a fursuit AND have them done in time for MFF? I've asked one suitmaker and she tells me that it's impossible for her to complete it in time...I may go to the original maker of my suit and see what she can do. I know two weeks is a short amount of time to turn it around, but the only other option is to try and mend the paw that I had the toe ripped off at IFC. If anyone can help me out with that, it would be greatly appreciated.
Update on "Get the Croccy to Work!"
Posted 15 years agoI'm still in need after having to call out on Friday...didn't expect to go through a rather generous contribution from
ian-rubin so quickly...thanks, foxeh! But at the rate I'm going, I'm probably gonna need another $150, depending on if
rukario71 can help me out first. My offer still applies: I will reimburse ANYONE that sends something to me. It may not be right away, but I plan on going through MFF before I start planning my finances. After the start of the month, I will be well on my way.
Again, thanks to
unholybeast,
gatorausrex and
ian-rubin for their generosity so far. I would not be asking this of you people if I didn't think it was important to my well-being...matter of fact, I despise those who ask for handouts and blow it all on stuff they don't absolutely need. I need to work, so therefore I am needing this. Thank you.

Brother, can you lend a hand/paw/fin/tentacle...whatever?
Posted 15 years agoAs I'm sure some of you are well-aware of, I have found a job as a courier for a logistics company in Milwaukee...if not, then now you know! However, I've come to the conclusion that starting out is gonna be the most difficult thing for me to do seeing as how it involves a lot of driving. I mean A LOT...my first full day yesterday, I covered nearly 400 miles, and I'll be expected to cover a lot more. But that takes money, namely to put in the gas tank...and where my account is sitting right now, I think I can only go until tomorrow.
rukario71 is willing to help out a little bit if he can...the key word being 'if he can'. That is why I am asking you to see if you can give me a hand. From where I'm sitting right now, I'm looking at needing somewhere around $200 to keep me going until the end of the month. If I can make it there, then I'll have nothing to worry about and will be well on my way. That and I will be able to reimburse anyone who is willing to help me out with this. I'm really excited about landing this position and I don't want to lose it because I can't come out due to not having the money to.
If you can, my Paypal is croco83@gmail.com, but I need it all today as it takes time to process. Help me out with this and you will forever have my gratitude. Thank you.
((UPDATE: I have received $61.59 so far from
unholybeast and
gatorausrex...a big heartfelt thank-you to you guys for giving at least that much to me!))

Posted 15 years agoDoes anybody know someone that could kick out a commission for me by the 8th? The reason I say the 8th is because there is someone out there who has a birthday on that day and I want to surprise them. It would be a 2 character piece, and I'm hoping to spend under 30 bucks on it. Send me a note if you're willing to do it, or if you know of someone that can. I hope I can pull this off.
So, who wants a room at IFC?
Posted 15 years agoMy roommate Darius (that's
subzero /
dmk) and I are looking for another fur to join us at IFC and I'm asking if there's anyone who's going and may be interested. We're only asking for $65 from you, and you will be able to stay from Friday to Sunday with us for the con. Not only that, but you will also get a free...yes, FREE!...character badge from Darius just for hanging out with us for the weekend. We only have one more slot available, so we can't take in any couples...sorry.
If you're interested, you can either respond here or send me a PM declaring your interest.

Posted 15 years agoI am at AC and having as good of a time as my limited resources will allow me to have. If you get this and are at the con, I am at the Omni in room 1225. Call or text me at 608-395-4637 if you want to meet up and chat, hang out, do naughty things*, or whatever. In fact, I'm actually in a good mood at this con...in such a good mood right now that I'm actually gonna make this post **. I don't care right now...I'm actually...happy. The only thing that's keeping this from being absolutely perfect is the lack of a
klepsydra.
Hope I can hang out with some new and interesting people! Toodles!

* - Limited to females only. Males will kindly (or unkindly, depending on how nice/of an asshole you are) be told 'no'. In other words, tits or GTFO.
** - Don't bother posting here. That's why I gave my number here...call or text me, preferably the latter.

Y'know what?
Posted 15 years agoFuck it and fuck you. If all you're gonna do is torment me with the fact that I'll never get a chance with you because of your intolerance and close-mindedness(even though you're part of a community that promotes otherwise) without even saying a word, then this is the end of the road for now. They say that a picture's worth a thousand words, and the last one told me all that I needed to know. Maybe we can be friends again in the near future. but one of two things are gonna have to happen. One of them is probably not likely to occur, but the other is one that wouldn't take much effort, considering that I can meet one of the conditions myself.
I tell people that whatever Croccy wants, Croccy gets; at least within reason, of course...even if he has to take another form in order to obtain it. But if it means enduring mental anguish when it is not acquired, then it is time to take your ball and find another field to play on. And as far as who this is directed at...if I'm watching you, then you're safe. I will not call names in this instance as there already is enough drama being played out, but they should know who they are if they come across this. To everyone else, I am sorry. I normally don't lash out like this, but there are some things that you can only take so much of before you lose it. It is just human nature...a fact of life. I am not threatening anyone's life or well-being with this, but merely making it known that I have had enough of their bullshit. That is all, carry on.

Posted 15 years agoI think I'm gonna start utilizing the blog feature on Furries Xtreme now for my more TMI-related stuff. That doesn't mean I won't use this or my LJ for any of that, but that will be the primary outlet for that kind of thing. You have to be 18 and a member of the site to look at it, so I may not use it as much as I should out of fear that people won't be able to get to it. But until I can figure out how to set up a TMI filter on LJ...or if I actually start writing in it on a regular basis again...that's where all my stuff is going.
If you are on FX, here's a link to my profile: http://socialfurry.org/furriesxtrem.....ile.php?ID=803 And I'm also up in the air if the Frisky Furs community is dead or not...there's been little, if any activity on that front. I'll get going on that once my housing situation has stabilized.
Finally, to end on a TMI note. . .I really need to get laid. And guys (except for a few notable exceptions) no longer count anymore. That is all.

Posted 15 years agoI know that you guys don't have to do this for me if you don't want to, but it would bring a great big crocodile-sized grin to my face if any of you would like to either have gift work done of one of my characters, or if you did it yourself if you are artistically inclined. My birthday is coming up...May 12th to be exact, and while I'm gonna be in London then, that doesn't mean I can't put out this request now. These are the characters I'd like to see done if you are kind and generous enough to take up my offer, with F-List profiles provided to get a glimpse as to what they look like ard what interests them:
Croco, of course: http://www.f-list.net/c/Croco%20Xarranax/
Castra: http://www.f-list.net/c/Castra/
Gregory: http://www.f-list.net/c/Gregory%20Horne/
Chelsea: http://www.f-list.net/c/Chelsea%20Rosseau/
And lastly, Valas...if you aren't familiar with him, he is an orca that I created as a bit of a 'happy mood' character. He is very playful and could be considered hedonistic to some, but he's very friendly like most orcas are. His profile can be found here: http://www.f-list.net/c/Valas/
So if you really wanna make me happy, I'd like some artwork done of one (or more) of the listed characters. I'm not demanding it, but figured I'd at least offer.
(EDIT: If you do decide to take this up, send me a note with the characters you'd like and we'll go from there.)
