Hello all, I hope you've been well ^^ this has been a very hard year for me, but this week especially has left me in some trouble. First, my main source of transportation, my ebike, was damaged in a storm and has a bad battery and the replacement is $500. This storm also wiped out power across most of my city and I wasn't able to go to my job for 3 days. The bright side of this is that I've been motivated by sitting in the dark with no power for 3 days and just desperately want to do some art ;-; I'm planning a growth drive to help recover some of these lost funds and can get back on my feet. It's going to involve Lugia, and I've opened a poll on Twitter to vote for which version of Lugia will be featured ^~^

I've got COVID or flu or something and I've had it for weeks, and my awful work has made it impossible to call out sick because no one can cover my shift. I'm too exhausted to draw when I get off work so now I'm stuck in limbo unable to recover or get any creative work done. Trying to finish up what I've got queued so I can focus entirely on my health for a little bit. Sorry for the delays ;;

Hey y'all, I start my first 'get up at a certain time and go to work' job in over 8 years tomorrow morning and I'm very much looking forward to it :3 It will do great things with my scheduling, and I should be healthier with some routine in my life. I've still been having a hard time getting concepts into sketches- if you're still awaiting a sketch from me, I've still probably got you on my commission sheet and I'm just needing to rally my creativity for it. For the time being, I need to pull in some funds via my newest YCH for the next few weeks before my first payday, as I'm pretty devastated by medical bills right now T_T

Long story short, I'll still be drawing at the pace that I have been and at best I'll consolidate my days and be more disciplined about my workflow. I really want to have quick turnarounds like I used to, but I understand that I'm still healing from a major head injury and need some time to return to my prime.

As always, I'm thrilled to draw for such a great community and enjoy the interaction I get with every one of my pieces ^^ I read every single comment and try to reply when I can, it means so much to me!

Hey folks! If my gallery isn't evident enough, I've been able to finally get back into regular art again. It's been difficult to relearn some things that I've lost, like muscle memory, and my brain injury back in July has made it all the more difficult. I'm thankful I can draw daily again and hope to really make art my main source of income. I love the work I do and the folks I talk to and interact with.
I'm mostly active on Twitter nowadays! My handle is @/Crocs_in_socks and I'll likely be posting most of my YCH bases there. I haven't had the opportunity to update my furaffinity, but I did say on my Twitter what happened- on the evening of the 16th I was struck and severely injured by a drunk driver while on my bicycle. I suffered many lacerations, broken bones and bruises, as well as a brain injury. I have a long recovery process ahead of me and the healing is starting to hurt like hell now, but it's all part of the process x_x I'm hoping to be better soon and back to doing what I love.

Hi everyone! Time certainly flies when you live in the freakish nightmare reality that is the 2020s.
I'm still in my weird period of trying to get back into art and writing on the regular. For the past few years I've been battling an alcohol addiction that I'm currently on the upswing from, so I'll have plenty of non-YCH art to post relatively soon (including a comic commission)!
Not to make this journal a whole big mental health thing, but I found it incredibly hard to be enthused or have the energy for art and writing while depressed, and then add drinking all the time into the mix. My "cure" for depression has been astronomy and astrophotography (I've gotten some pretty awesome pics that I'll definitely incorporate into pieces soon). Now that I can distance myself from drinking regularly, I can fill in the gaps during the day with digital art and drawing again. I have told a few folks that I'll have a sketch for them as soon as possible in regards to potential future commissions, and trust me when I say I'm doing my best to get to them. YCH's are a comfy form of art for me right now that I can complete at my usual standard in quick succession, but I'll touch commission work again when I'm ready.
For now, I hope you all have a cozy beginning of autumn~!

It's been a very hard year, and I know not just for me. I have been on hiatus from my art for about 3 months, and it's awful. I miss so much interacting with my community and creating cute and puffy art for everyone. I hope I can get back into it soon, but it feels like I say that every journal ;_;
I'm considering starting up some writing pieces of ideas I've had bouncing around. I don't think I've ever uploaded pure writing pieces without any art accompanying it, but I'm going to start doing that to overcome that weird fear of not having a "visual" for viewers to go by. I know my audience, and they're super creative and have beautiful minds' eyes of their own! I don't HAVE to have some sort of art accompanying, I'm sure you will all enjoy written pieces anyway ^^~ I think most of the stories I've written have been very female-centric with pregnancy/expansion being parts of the themes, and I'm going to stray out from that a bit with other ideas that intrigue me like solo male/female/nonbinary characters with growth, nonsexual growth, vore stuff maybe...~
If you've liked my written pieces, is there anything in particular you might like to see in my written style? I'd love to hear some ideas of themes and get some feedback on that just to get started with story writing.
Regardless, I really hope to show you all some new digital art soon. I have some projects to finish that I'm very excited for, including a comic and Renoko's awesome growth drive that is about to explode to... planetary levels, to say the least >:3

I'm around! I have taken a solid break from art for the most part, doing what I can to work on pieces that are already paid for (pretty much caught up on that I think, never been in this position T_T). I still have a few projects to finish up, and I want to be at my usual level of quality/better before I work on those again. Anyone that's poked me about commission slots and whatnot, I'm prettttty sure I have you down in my commissions list as "waiting for sketch" so don't worry about that ^^

More personally, I've been seriously fighting back depression that makes me unable to be productive, period. I just want to sleep, hibernate or something, being conscious is a lot of work and drawing is even more work. It's just as hard as eating or showering at this point. It's been this way since I was on, and got off of my antidepressants. I hope that with some more self-care I can work myself into a position where art feels freeing and pleasant again. Just to be clear, working on the art I've created the last 6 years has been a blessing. It's been the most free I've felt, covering artistic themes that were "forbidden" in my household, and I just straight up love the creativity of the people I work with. It's a dream job, but I'm held back by my pathetic fleshy human body and the stupid chemicals that comes with it.

I appreciate the endless love and compassion that you all have given me in this rough period. I want to try and update everyone to let them know where I'm at and ideally when they can see my content again soon.

It's been remarkably hard for me to produce any art lately. I may end up taking a break for the rest of the year once I finish up my other projects. I just don't really know what to do to find my passion and willpower again. Everything is against me this year, my friendships are falling apart, and all I want to do is to be able to draw again.

12 hours from now I'll be home! And furiously catching up on the work I haven't finished ;_; the growth drive is continuing + the YCHs for the Oasis which have been a blast so far! On the side I've got some nice commission work that my customers have been so incredibly patient on as well, so expect to get an art dump this week ;3!

Hey everyone! My oldest brother is getting married this week and I'll be traveling by car to go. With the pandemic stuff, I'll admit that I am not a very happy croc about this and really don't want to uproot my life when I'm starting to finally recover from my depression-malaise :/ In any case I'm luckily able to bring my computer with me and continue to work on my owed YCH's and Renoko's growth drive. I'm also working on quite a few individual commissions on the side, so I'm working through them at the best pace that I can ^^
I likely won't take anything new until I get back home (2 weeks max), so I appreciate the folks that are patiently waiting on me to get back to them about commission stuff. Keep staying cool this summer (or warm if you're southern hemisphere ;D)!

Though most of my commissioners are aware, I just want to make it known here that I'm taking a brief hiatus to focus on my mental health. I'm getting off of my coping mechanisms and swapping to healthier alternatives (after an almost fatal mistake). I feel like I've completely lost my ability to draw, so I just need to find it again ;_;

Working through an artblock right now, the growth drive is continuing but just at a slower pace! I appreciate everyone's participation so far, and it's been so fun x3
Considering YCH ideas going into Summertime, it's getting hella hot where I'm at so I definitely want something to do with cooling off in potentially giant bodies of water...

Heya everyone, I hope your New Year has been great so far ^^

The past few weeks have been very hard for me. I've had nonstop dentist appointments (had an oral surgery yesterday), rocky relationships with some of my closest friends, had to put my very last pet rat to sleep, and have been having the hardest time with my depression. It's been a chore to even hold my tablet pen, or even write something. It's been so hard to be creatively drained, especially after coming into the new year feeling great and excited about my art. I'm only now finally starting to be able to work again (people expecting sketches from me, they will come soon!), but I'm not sure what to do in situations like this where I find myself completely unable to draw for two to three week periods.

I'm financially dependent on my art, so when this happens I'm just completely broke for such long periods of time. Does anyone have any tips about pushing through depressive episodes? I just feel so hopeless sometimes ;~;

With this year, I've raised my prices by about 10-30% in various categories of work. My work takes me longer and longer as I'm picking up various painting skills, so to justify the time investment, my base pricing has increased. In regards to YCH's, there shouldn't be too much of a price change, though I may need to reconsider my work loads with fully-shaded YCH's (sometimes they can keep me locked down for a week)
As of now I don't really have any plans for exclusive content, I've considered patreon in the past, but overall I just like providing work that can be seen by everyone. I may look into more crowdfunding projects to support larger story pieces and paintings, like growth drives and whatnot.
My ultimate goal is to make more art than ever this year, but we'll see where that resolution is... in a month >~>

I've been rewatching King of the Monsters scenes on Youtube for a few days and I'm dying to work on something with Godzilla + friends between commissions~ I was thinking of something with him and Ghidorah, but I haven't thought of any fun macro/weight gain/inflation sorts of things that I want to draw

I need a few days to recover... at the beginning of last week I had four pet rats, and as of now I only have one. The others passed away from completely separate issues last weekend and today one of them developed a form of pneumonia that I unintentionally made worse by trying to nebulize her with a solution that would help open up her breathing. She panicked and died just ten minutes later and I'm reeling.
I don't know how to say it other than I'm devastated and depressed, all of my funds went into helping them pass peacefully or get better, and I feel like I'm at square one in my life again. Ideally my plan is to shut down the internet for a day and just draw/write to clear my head.
I'll be alright soon. I have a lot of support from all of my friends <3
