Updates - Commission work and otherwise

I suppose I don't really tend to use journals all that often but I figured it might not be a bad time to make one because there are some worthy updates on me and where this page/my work will be going in the future.
So first off, a bit of general catch up - this year has been a very busy one. Aren't they all? But between NFC, Confuzzled, two non-stop months in June/July and with my job kicking into high gear for a major project we're carrying there, it's been a difficult start to the year in terms of writing. Most annoyingly of all is that I've actually been really enjoying writing this year. However, as of this month, things are starting to relax a bit - work is still busy as ever and I undoubtedly plan to do things outside of writing - but I have no major upcoming events that require lots of planning and prep and big chunks of time away from my hobbies. All of that means that I have a real chance to delve back into writing full on.
Following on from that, the topic of commissions comes to the surface pretty naturally. Now over the last few years since my last public opening, I've kind of taken on a few interested parties on a queue of sorts just to tick things over and I've just worked my way through that queue as and when I could. Now though, with my desire to get back into everything properly again and also to take writing a little more seriously, I've decided to stick that queue on my page and work through it in good time to then start accepting new commissions. The queue that is on my page currently is the full queue. I will not be adding to it until it's cleared.
When I do open again, I will be considering alternative ways of taking on commissions. I have less and less interest in long commission queues simply because it is inherently less flexible and can leave anyone who missed out with no chance for a long time, so I am thinking about doing more frequent openings for fewer slots. Alongside that, I have been thinking about using Google Forms instead of just a first come, first served basis as a way for me to handle commissions. This is much less messy and allows me to balance projects a lot easier and it means I can also do slots if I say have a mood to write a particular kink/type of story as I can make calls for things like that and maybe even offer discounts for certain subjects if its something I'm really keen to dig into. It's still something I'm thinking about so there may be some tweaks to it but I think it will offer me the best flexibility and the best chance to remain happy and consistent with writing while also taking off the pressure on people to be lucky enough to catch a journal.
A final change of note is that I'm considering extending my word count limit in some cases. A recent experience with a high word count project has given me a lot of reassurance in the viability of me doing big story projects like this. I can't promise anything on it but I am considering the possibility of having a large story slot alongside the regular stories so that I can still keep up this faster turnaround going while also working on much longer stories.
So in conclusion to a lot of this; expect a lot more coming out over the next few months and also expect there to be new commission slots coming out hopefully towards the end of this year/early next year? If anyone has any opinions about the changes to the commissioning format, I'd be interested to hear too because I'm still very much thinking how I tackle this to do something that's both fair to me and to anyone who wants a slot.

I'm opening for 6 slots which will be done with 1 active slot at a time and 5 queue slots to be done on a first-come, first-served basis.
The details you need to know for this round:
-$25 per 1000 words
-Stories are available up to a length of 10,000 words
The commission process:
-Payment is not due and story plans do not need to be finalized while you're in the queue
-When your story moves into the active slot, I'll contact you and that's when you'll send the details of your story plan
-I'll then hammer out a more detailed story framework from your plan and share this with you. This framework will form the basis of what I work from when writing your story as it saves me from having to go back through notes or DMs to find all the details. At this point, we can also discuss story length if you're not sure about that.
-Once you've confirmed that the framework contains everything and that you are happy with it, then I will ask for payment. Payment must be made prior to me starting work on your story
-Any substantial changes requested later that are the result of something not included in this framework could be subject to a rewriting fee at the same rate as I work normally if it requires me to make significant changes to what I've already done so do double-check the framework and feel free to tell me to add details if there are things you really want me to focus on incorporating into your story
-The writing process often involves re-writing and multiple drafts so I am admittedly a little reluctant to give access to wips during the writing phase as early drafts may be what is essentially a placeholder and not of finished quality however I will do my best to accommodate people who want updates and I am always happy to give details about the progress of the commission
-Upon completion of the commission, any minor issues that need correcting can be done free of charge. Also, any mistakes caused by my own error, even if they are substantial, will be made free of charge. At the end of the day, what I want most is for you to enjoy your commission and get something you really love and I will absolutely work with you to get it to that point
-If a refund is requested, you will be refunded based on the level of work that has already been completed on your commission

With my return to writing, I've begun to realise that I genuinely do enjoy writing once more. It's a passion that I lost for a long time which was a shame because it's a hobby I have had for well over a decade now. But after these few years away and after moving past some things in my life, I can honestly say that my love for writing is back with a vengeance!
One thing I desperately want to do is continue on the LBFG series I started all those years ago. I have always had a lot of fun writing and planning it and it's something I want to keep ticking away with both for me and for the people who have contacted me over these past few years to ask if it's continuing. There are, of course, other things I'm keen to write as well such as a few WoF stories that I've had brewing in my mind and perhaps some stand-alone pieces and even a raffle or two but I definitely want to delve back into this series first of all.
The story though has always been designed to have some considerable flexiblity to allow for fan input so to celebrate its return and to gauge what people are most keen to see, I've created a small poll for you to pick which of the options you'd most like to see in the next installment. I'm not sure how long it'll be up for but I'll leave it a few days most likely:

It is a long time coming but I'm gonna be proactive. It would be good to get my ass back into writing and it would be good to have some commissions to light the fire under me so I'm going to open up for some smaller but hopefully faster turnaround story commissions. The rules of these are gonna be:
-$15 per 1000 words
-I'm capping the word count at 3,000 for now (so shorter scenes/stories for now. This may change later but to start I want to keep my motivation up with a faster turnaround)
-SFW or NSFW
-Flexible on kinks and characters (OC or Rule34)
-I'll have two commissions active at once but I'll keep a queue running. Payment will be due when you move from the queue into the active commission slots
-Minor tweaks are allowed upon completion as well as any corrections from mistakes on my part but any substantial changes that need to be made because of an error/change of heart on your part may be subject to an editing fee based on how long it takes to correct it - this will be roughly in line with what I charge for writing
-I might not upload everything I write here - that's just my discretion - but you are more than welcome to upload your completed story however you please so long as the credit is there

General | Posted 3 years agoThis is out of left field, I know, especially seeing as I haven't had much time to really get into writing in a while now, but I'm coming into a quieter period now and I'm toying with the idea of opening up for commissions again. They might give me the push to get back into writing again and, honestly, the extra income would be handy at the moment. Still not 100% sure on the best way to take them - first come first served or make up a commission form and pick - but I am definitely brewing some motivation to get going on this. Maybe it's worth trialing some smaller slots too to get things rolling - say 1000-3000 word stories as standalone scenes or as something to tack onto art. I'll still run them at $15 per 1000 words for now and see how much time I put into each story. If I need to adjust it later then I will but for now, let's stick with the old pricing.
What do you guys think? It's been a long time since I was active so I'm not expecting a whole lot of interest but I still appreciate the input if you've got any.

I'm back baby!

So, as you may or may not know, my PhD has taken up the last 4 years, the first of which also included writing up my masters thesis and the last of which also included working a full time job managing a lab. Over this time, I haven't really had much drive to write or the energy to do so on the few times I've been tempted. Honestly, I haven't really had any consistent time for hobbies beyond basic socialising with friends and a few cons throughout those years.
But, as of last week, I am free from my PhD thesis! I handed it in on Friday and now, except for the viva and post-viva corrections I shouldn't have anything outside of work hanging over me. The relief for that alone is huge and, though I admit I will be taking some time to get my head back after all these years of intense work and stress, I really am looking forward to being free and am already enjoying the lack of it weighing down on me. The big upside in regards to me here though is that this gives me free time to finally get back to my writing. Already I'm brewing ideas for new stories and starting to jot down ideas and plans to start filling in. And best of all, its genuinely enjoyable again and it no longer feels like I'm just forcing myself to do it out of guilt! I'm back into reading too which is going to help a massive amount with that desire as well. Like currently, I'm going through the WoF series - which I'm absolutely loving by the way - and hell, I might well make a few tales off of that series too. There's plenty of loveable, fun-to-write characters in there. But either way, I should now be able to actually get back to writing like I used to instead of posting something once a year like I have been and that's the part I'm really excited about. I miss doing it and miss that side of interacting with everyone here so here's hoping it'll come back with aplomb!
As an important side note to that though; I don't think this will include commissions. I've thought about this a bit and honestly, with a full time job paying me pretty well and a four-year halt on my own ideas, I just don't feel the drive to do them any more. I plan to still do polls in the future and I'll never say never when it comes to me changing my mind in the future, but for right now I just want to do my own stuff.
But yes, I am excited about all of this and looking forward to a return to normal. All I can say is thanks to all those who stuck by me through these long few years and those who have been patient with how much its forced me to withdraw here. I appreciate all of you <3

It's crazy to think something I wrote has done so well and is still racking up some favourites and views today, especially seeing as it was written like 9 years ago now. Whether they're short stories, smut-fests, short scenes to accompany pictures, or just short stand-alone scenes, doesn't matter to me. I've done them all before! Pricing:
-$15 per 1000 words
-+$5 per 1000 words for stories containing 4+ main characters due to the complexity and the short nature of the stories - this doesn't include smaller appearances and side characters (i.e. A story involving the Guardians that starts with all four talking and then breaks away to focus on two of them would not incur the extra charge whereas one with a full four-dragon Guardian orgy would)
Limits:
-Max 5000 words
-Very open to writing most kinks - won't do underage stuff - if you're unsure on a kink then drop me a note and ask

-Slots run on a first-come, first-served basis and while both may be worked on at the same time, preference will be given to the first commissioner unless there are special circumstances
-Providing relevant refs and character details (including personalities etc.) is your responsibility. Details not given to me at the initial stage or the planning stage will only be added at my discretion. Larger fixes may incur a fixing fee if it requires a substantial enough re-write
-After providing me with initial details, I will craft a more detailed plan and ask you to confirm that you are happy with everything. This is also your time to highlight key things you want to be emphasized in the writing (be it something about a character or relationship or an aspect of a kink you particularly like etc.) or more minor details that you really want to see added to the story. This is your final chance to make whatever adjustments you would like without incurring any fixing fee (so be honest with what you want and don't be shy about getting into the details! I can only work with what you give me and I'd love to make it push your buttons but I gotta know what those buttons are!)

The thing is, considering I've got a fair stretch of computer time ahead and some reasons to save up, I'm debating the idea of opening up again for commissions. I'm thinking I might limit the story length to like 4000-5000 words if I do just to try and keep things fresh and easier to work on. As satisfying as it is completing a big story, it's also slow work and burns me out more and I rather have shorter stories that I can knock out faster and keep that writing flow going. If I ran these for like $15 per 1000 words, would people be interested? Trying to gauge some interest here (and trying to gauge pricing. Story pricing is hard!). Let me know your thoughts!

Thumbnail problem?
General | Posted 5 years agoAight, I'm aware I upload some pretty kinky art sometimes and I tried making thumbnails for it (as well as putting the content in the title) so that the people don't open things against their interests but FA is apparently having none of it, no matter how many times I try to get it uploaded. Does anyone know how to get them working or are they just dead?
Would appreciate any help you guys have 'cause I'd like to allow even the vanilla folk to watch me without stumbling across something that just isn't for them <3

Me, my life, and writing
General | Posted 8 years agoSo things have been pretty chaotic in my life for the last year or so. I’ve had some hard personal stuff over that time for sure, everyone has hardships, but mostly I’ve had a lot of work. For those of you who don’t know, I was doing my research masters degree this time last year which required quite a lot of attention and then I got into PhD applications and interviews, finally landing a fully funded PhD that started last summer. The condition of me getting that position was that I went straight from the lab that I was working in for my masters to the new lab that I would be doing my PhD without any break between the two. Now in the UK, you have 2 years to submit your research masters thesis even though you only spend 9 months in the lab and so, while most people spend a few months at the end of their research masters writing up their final thesis, I had to go straight into my PhD and use my free time to write up my masters thesis. The bulk of my time has been dedicated to research and doing my PhD work which, as you might have guessed, is a lot to do. So this masters thesis has kind of eaten up about a solid 95% of my free time which is why I’ve been producing nothing really for the last year or so. However, I am now getting towards the end of my thesis and so, once it is submitted and defended (hopefully successfully), I will get a large chunk of that free time back to do things like writing!
And that kind of brings me onto the main point of this journal; I’ve had a few notes and PMs recently asking about commissions and whether people can be put on a queue or whether I will open up at any point soon so I thought I’d make my current thoughts public so that you all know. I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently and quite honestly, I’m not sure I really want to do commissions for the foreseeable future. I started doing them because there were some interesting ideas and the money was nice to use for buying commissions of my own but I’m now at a point where I don’t really need the money to survive and I can even treat myself to some art now and then without worrying. The ideas that come from people are still fantastic. You guys are definitely very creative people and I love hearing what you come up with and bouncing ideas around if something particularly strikes my fancy. It can and does inspire me to write so I’ll always be happy to receive notes with ideas. Hell, hit me up for my IMs if you really want to hash some ideas out or anything. But with how busy I have been recently, I haven’t had much time to write and when I have a commission going that is all I will work on. I’ll get bouts of inspiration for an idea but feel guilty actually writing it if it’s not working on the commission that I’ve taken on so then I don’t write anything and lose that inspiration and that’s been bumming me out a bit when it comes to writing because I spend months working on a commission in the little free time I have (when I’m not just too tired to write) and miss a lot of small ideas that I’ve had over that time that just don’t get written. I think it’s made writing more of a chore than it should be.
I’ve got a few full story ideas that I want to write, I want to really get into the LBFG series which has taken such a long hiatus, and I know I’ll have more spur of the moment ideas that I’ll doodle up in the form of short scenes. I feel I’ll produce more content and want to produce more content too and with things like the LBFG series, there’ll still be votes for you guys to influence what goes into particular chapters.
I have a trade story and one or two commissions to do first but then I will start this break. And it is just a break! I’m not saying I won’t come back to commissions in a while but I’m just not promising when.

It's taken nearly 7 years of incredibly intermittent story-writing, almost 28,000 page views, and 80 submissions to do it but I'm finally there! God knows what you guys are actually watching me for but I'm glad that you are. Here's to another 1000! (hopefully before I turn 30)

I went to Telegram myself but seeing as Discord seems to be just as popular and since a lot of people seem to be exclusively on Discord, I decided to make an account there too. I still prefer Telegram but at least I have an alternative now in case other people don't!
Also, as far as story-writing goes, life is once again very busy but I'm hoping I might get a bit of story work done soon. Maybe even work on the next chapter of LBFG or some other projects; inspiration tends to be a little sporadic at the moment. What kind of things do you guys want to see anyway? Big, stand-alone stories? Small chapters? Certain pairings? Certain fandoms? OC? Certain kinks?

General | Posted 9 years agoSorry guys if you read the story as it was posted in the 'description box' of the submissions. There is a character limit that I didn't know about so the story cut out randomly in the final scene. The ending is on the downloadable version using the 'download' button there. Again, really sorry about that but I honestly didn't know the character/word limit was a thing but I can't seem to fit the whole story into the submissions comment now. I'll keep this in mind in the future and upload other stories this large as two-parters. Again, sorry guys :c

I would do a kiriban story/scene thing but it's already past the 20,000 mark and I'm slow enough with writing as it is. General | Posted 10 years agoI normally prefer to visit individual shout boxes to give thanks for people who watch and/or fave my stuff but I decided that (what with the story and then the three pictures in close succession) there were way too many pages to visit for that. Would have taken a very long time with FA's comment spam protection and hey, it's better to work smart than work hard so I'm doing a journal instead. So yis, I just wanted to thank everyone who faved or watched (or both) during the last few days. Every fave and watch you donate will support a writer (read: pervert) like me to continue writing smutty, unspeakable things and buy more commissions! What a noble thing you guys are doing here~
