A Nintendo Fan No Longer
Posted 4 days agoI am absolutely disgusted. Nintendo just lost my money and what was left of my respect. I refuse to buy any more of their games with "summon and fight" mechanics in them. I refuse to support them any longer. The first parties are all officially dead to me now.

Reopening comissions
Posted 4 weeks agoWork has slowed down, so while I look for a new job I'm reopening comissions.
--Rules and Boundaries---
I can draw: SFW, NSFW (barring the items listed below), bondage, coiling
I WON'T DRAW: Oral, diapers, obesity, glue, gross stuff (scat, urine, etc.), disturbing content (like abuse, gore, or trauma), loli/shotacon, snuff, satanic imagery, hate art, fascism, politics, propaganda, or anything illegal
I strongly prefer using Inkscape for drawings nowadays, as I am at my PC far more than my laptop, which is what I use for GIMP. If you insist it must be hand-drawn, expect a longer wait time; I am much faster with Inkscape.
For legal reasons, I cannot do commercial art of copyrighted characters I don't own or real life people.
I have the right to refuse any comission for any reason.
---Prices---
Simple image: $10
- Single character or object with a simple design
- Simple background
- Simple logo
Complex image: $20 for each of the following
- Multiple characters interacting, or a highly-detailed character design
- Detailed background
- Detailed logo
Comic: $5 per simple panel, $10 per complex panel
I take payment through PayPal. I require half of the price as advance payment.
---Slots---
I currently offer four slots, three of which are for single images and one of which is for a comic. Even if the slots are currently filled, I can add you to a wait list to fill a slot when one becomes available.

Why I love DID
Posted a month agoThis started as a reply I was writing on DA, but I decided to post it in Journals there and here instead. That way, I can just link to these Journals anytime I want to express and/or explain my opinions of DID.
I love the DID trope for a couple reasons:
1. It's a good way to spice up a story with some kinky fun. I personally feel a DID scene isn't complete without some visually appealing restraints. Makes sense as a way for the damsel's captors to ensure sure she stays put when they want her to while allowing them to transport her quickly and easily.
2. It's a good way to start or develop a romantic relationship, or otherwise provide emotional catharsis. As much as I love to see a damsel get captured and bound, I also want to see her get rescued, ideally by her current or future love interest. Great chance to either plant the seeds of affection between the two, or for the two to show affection to one another.
I think DID appeals to several of our primal instincts: hunting, catching, looking for an attractive mate, and protecting one's mate. The hero and villain each facilitate a portion of these instincts; the villain is the one hunting for and catching the damsel, while the hero is the one protecting her. Quite possibly, both are looking for a mate in her, though obviously the hero is going about it in a much more respectful, palatable way (or so I should hope). Thus DID is a venue for applicable morals in addition to instinctual and emotional catharsis. DID is also appealing from a narrative structure standpoint: you have a clear set up (the damsel being captured or otherwise imperiled), a built-in conflict ripe for developments and twists, and a payoff (the damsel's rescue). It's a simple, flexible trope that's applicable in virtually any genre, which is probably why it has appeared in virtually every genre.
That said, I acknowledge the trope has been done poorly before. It's not very satisfying to have the damsel only appear at the beginning and/or end of a story; I'd rather see more of the damsel throughout the story - before, during, and after her distress. In many cases, I'd argue there isn't enough DID - or rather, the DID we get often feels half-baked and shallow. Additionally, many writers make their damsel annoying by making her overly loud, whiny, selfish, or stupid, which turns the audience against her. Some writers invoke this on purpose, but it annoys and disappoints me when they do; the DID trope is much more enjoyable when it's infused with love rather than hate.
DID is often accused of being a sexist trope, but it doesn't have to be; gender-reversals or same-gender scenarios are perfectly possible too. My personal preference is for traditional "male hero, female damsel" couples of course, but sometimes, it is nice to give the girl a chance to show how much she cares in turn, as long as she's actually showing how much she cares and isn't just doing the "feminism flex"; the priority of any savior should be saving lives, not stroking their ego. (Incidentally, I most enjoy "girl helps guy" scenarios where the girl is healing the guy or nursing him back to health after he's wounded, poisoned, etc., especially if it's after he's rescued her. Emotional healing works especially well as a way for them to bond during the moment, not to mention show the guy's vulnerable, trusting side and the girl's gentle, caring side.)
Rather than spread "damsel hate", I want to spread "damsel love" and encourage well thought-out DID scenarios. When a DID is implemented well, she's one of the most endearing characters in the game or story. A good DID scenario encourages love for women by making clear just how much those women mean to us (and the same can be said for good GID scenarios and men).

Looking for advice on seeking a date
Posted a month agoI'm feeling the pressure to find a girlfriend while I'm still young enough to do so (I hope), and I'm wondering what I should say on my profile to advertise that I'm available? Sometimes I worry that all the art I produce gives the impression I'm not looking, and that certainly isn't the case at all.

Thinking of reopening comissions
Posted 7 months agoThinking of reopening comissions. First though, I want to do a market test. How much would you want to pay for a comission? Alternatively, how much would you pay monthly for something like Patreon or an equivalent service? Feel free to note me if you don't feel comfortable sharing here.
Our poor second stray kitty has an ear wound :(
Posted 8 months agoA poor stray cat in our neighborhood that my bro named Cheeto has a nasty wound behind his right ear. It bled a lot, so with help from a neighbor we put some disinfectant on the area and some bleedstop. We also fed him, and for his safety placed him in a pet cage (provided by said neighbor) with a cushion, some water, a litter box, and a blanket covering three sides outside the door of other neighbors who are known to care for cats. We checked on him earlier, and thankfully the bleeding appears to have stopped. Within the next 12 hours, a vet or shelter should be able to see him and he should be able to get treatment.
Update: Little guy's doing better. Neighbor thinks he got bit by a dog.

I beat Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door!
Posted 9 months agoI finally beat Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Feels good to finally finish a playthrough of the game after all this time. Here's hoping the next Paper Mario is the true Paper Mario 3 we've been waiting for. "What about Super Paper Mario? Sticker Star? Color Splash? Etc.?"
Fun fact: In Japan, the first few Paper Marios were known as "Mario Story". But as I understand it, starting with Sticker Star, they switched over to "Paper Mario" in Japan as well. Know what that says to me? Sticker Star and its sequels are effectively a different Paper Mario series or subseries, distinct from the "Mario Story" Paper Marios. And Super Paper Mario is basically a spinoff itself. So, Paper Mario 3, as in "Mario Story 3", has yet to truly happen. When it does, I hope it's a worthy successor to TTYD, a sequel that builds on TTYD's good ideas just as TTYD did for the original Paper Mario.
As so happens, I have my own ideas for one that I call Paper Mario: Star Patrol. Sometime, I might share some ideas for it here. Or on my DA. But for now, I feel content having finally completed this classic.

Funding goal reached!
Posted 2 years agoThanks to some generous donations, we have now reached our $300 GoFundMe goal for the pet deposit!
Help us keep Silkie! (GoFundMe for Pet Deposit)
Posted 2 years agoSilkie is a stray kitty who paid us a visit on our balcony while my mother was watering her plants in October 2018. We adored the little cat and named her "Silkie" after feeling how soft her fur was. She had a collar at the time, but no one ever came to claim her, so we believe she was put out and abandoned by her previous family and started caring for her ourselves, making her our unofficial pet.
For years, the apartment management never raised an issue as the former staff liked the stray cats living in the area. Recently however, the apartments changed to new management who are much more avid about enforcing the apartment policies regarding pets. They specifically asked tenants not to feed the strays, to discourage them from remaining in the complex. We're afraid they will try to remove the cats by force before long.
So, we want to raise the funds necessary to cover the pet deposit ($300) so we can keep Silkie around. We appreciate any and all contributions, as will our fuzzy little family member.

Funding for Possible Court Case Contesting Will
Posted 3 years agoBack in January, my father passed away due to illness, and my brother and I were supposed to receive his share of the inheritance left to him and his brothers by our grandmother, who herself passed away early last December. However, our father's then-girlfriend is attempting to claim all of his possessions, including his share of that inheritance, with a will that we believe is fraudulent. The will has no witness, no full signature, was not notarized, was hand-written on a piece of note paper, and is dated three days prior to his death.
According to the ex-girlfriend, all previous wills he had were disposed of, but she did not say who disposed of them. Our father was terribly bedridden at the time the will was written - he was too weak to change his sheets - and would not have been able to destroy any previous wills himself.
In the days leading up to our father's death, his then-girlfriend made a point of not allowing his own brothers to see him. We ourselves only learned he was sick the day before he died.
We may need to contest the will in court, and are aiming for a goal of at least $30,000, possibly up to $50,000, to cover court costs, based on estimates we were given. The money will only be used to cover court costs. If the matter is settled out of court or we otherwise do not need the money to cover court costs, it will be returned promptly to our generous donors. If any money is left over, we will return it distributed evenly among our donors.
Thank you to all who read this and decide to donate to our cause.

My Grandmother died today
Posted 4 years agoMy father found her laying on the floor next to her bed. May she rest in peace.
EDIT: Thanks everyone for your condolences. Truth be told, though I'm not happy about the development, I didn't cry when I heard the news, whereas my mother and brother did. Our history with my father's side of the family is complicated. Some bad feelings in the past. But we've maintained a mostly civil relationship over the past decade. My father is the one we feel pity for, in truth, as he's suffering the most from this loss. My grandmother was old and had recently come back from ER; she was probably in a great deal of pain. Now her suffering is over and she can rest. But the pain of losing one's parent is something I wouldn't wish on my bitterest enemy.
