At workplace, even?

Since it's been a rush all over the place, I had to haul off some magazines that we printed and had to be left for delivery truck, all with a manual forklift.

As I'm pulling the forklift I am moving backwards while looking behind me to watch for any obstacle in the way.

My shoe's sole tears and bends slightly, causing me to trip and fall backwards. I lose hold of the forklift.

The forklift, still moving from the momentum, goes right over my foot.

My toenail goes POP and falls clean off.

FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU---

So, I was contacted by one of the companies where I applied for a job. They told me to come over there on Monday for an interview and, with some luck, maybe begin working!

In other news; one final challenge remains in my La Mulana playthrough (no, not Hell Temple, FUUUUUUCK that noise ). Since I made it this far, I will post some of my favorite tracks from the game. No particular favorite order.



Possibly one of the best "jumping into adventure" tracks, very fitting music that pumps you up for the challenges that are yet to come.



Possibly my favorite boss in the game, Sakit is a force to be reckoned with and came off as a surprise (my first reaction was "he was there the whole time, that motherfucker!"), which really shouldn't have happened, taking into account the very area where you find him. His theme music perfectly describes the danger and epic scale of the fight.



One of my favorite areas, Temple of the Sun truly inspires sense of awe, but will also frustrate the players with some of it's puzzles, and sliding slopes will definitely make it difficult to navigate the area, especially with some enemy placements. The track further adds to the Temple's magnificence.



Hooo boy....anyone who played this game will attest to the fact that Tiamat is a gigantic (literally and figuratively) pain in the ass and quite a challenge to beat, especially with the infinitely spawning bats. Still, her theme music is quite blood-pumping and amazing!



While Confusion Gate pissed me the fuck off with how frustrating it was to navigate, I will admit this creepy little tune quickly became an ear worm I still can't shake off. Naramura, you sadistic little fuckbucket.

So, that job I supposedly landed?

Looks like I celebrated too soon.
This Monday, I decided to ask my boss about the contract, having been told I got the job and all. He said he will have to check with the studio's director.

Yesterday, I get a visit from the director himself, who told me to hand him the paper where I was writing down work hours so that he can pay me for how much I worked, then I can go home.

Essentially, I was fired, for daring to ask about a contract. My cousin told me this shit is a common occurence with small business owners around here.

I already applied for two other jobs and should hopefully hear back from them next week.



Just..fuck this noise.

So, while waiting for an opportunity to get my PC over here, all I had to pass time was my shitty old laptop, IBM ThinkPad series. Despite it's age, it turned out to be pretty decent at running some games, among them being the older, freeware version of La Mulana which got me hooked up real bad.

Great plot? Check. The more you read tablets and talk to certain characters, the more of it you piece together.
Lots of puzzles and exploring? Check. Some puzzles are fucking diabolical and require online guides to solve, and others are so deceptively simple that you will bust your brain trying to figure them out, only to realize later just how easy they really were. And not all puzzles unlock something in the area you are currently exploring, no no no no...you won't find out what did you unlock until much later. Or maybe sooner.

And then there is that one most infuriating obstacle, one that will quickly become bane of every La Mulana player's existence:

Bats.

Those motherfucking bats.

You thought you will land that jump perfectly and reach the other side? Nope, bats say "Fuuuuuuck you, down the pit you go" and there you are sitting, screaming and cursing like a sailor when some bat changes flight path and bounces into you, sending you down a pit and several screens below. 20 minutes into the game and you will wish you could render the whole bat population extinct.

I know I did. And I am currently trying and failing to beat Tiamat because guess what she keeps spawning?!!!

So, with my last week of trial over, I finally got the news from my boss...

I got the job for good!
I will see with my folks when should I return home to pack up my stuff and PC and get them transferred over here at the new place. Then it is only a matter of finding a good ISP and establishing Internet connection.

So, it is the last week of my job before I find out whether I will be staying in this company or not. All I can ask of you guys to wish me luck. As mentioned before, if I land this gig I will be able to set up Internet at my new place.

So, here is the gist of things; the job I got is not permanent, as I am gonna be on trial period for a month before they decide if they will hire me for certain. It could be less than a month, or entire month, it all depends. It's why I postponed setting up Internet at new place, until I see what happens.

So, as soon as I unpacked and sat down to rest a bit, I receive a phone call from my dad, who's at grandma's place. Owner of the studio where I applied for a job called him, looking for me and asking if I will be available on Friday to discuss all the details regarding when am I gonna start working. Slightly sooner than expected, but hey, at least this means I will be able to set up Internet soon. I just gotta start with this job and see how it pans out. I hope it all works out well and I keep this job for a long time.

So here is the gist of things; this Wednesday I will be heading back home for a few days to work some stuff out. Reason? Because once I head back to grandma's place, I finally begin working. Which means I will finally be able to set up Internet and PC at new place!!

Long time in works but my return is imminent~

Might as well do this so people don't worry.

Currently settled in Subotica, Serbia. Still waiting for the new ID to be made before I can apply for a job (I was able to apply for it only last week: they said waiting time could be 1-3 weeks tops).

As such, still no Internet, I am only able to periodically check in from cousin's place.

I finally got everything set for the big move, which will take place this Saturday morning.

Once I get settled in my new place I will have to make a new ID, new bank account, and take care of all necessary paperwork before I apply for the job position that our family friend has mentioned. I will be without Internet for some time (a month maximum), but my dad will bring over the PC in next few weeks, so I will be able to work on stuff during my free time. As for checking up online, I will probably borrow my cousin's WiFi from time to time.

Wish me luck everyone! If all goes well, this will be a permanent move, which would benefit me greatly.

What I meant is that I might be moving to a different place, depending on whether a job application falls through. It could be either later this week, or next week...who knows? I'll keep you folks updated, along with extra details I'll reveal eventually.

Another year has passed, yet another step closer to the "oldfag" territory has been made @__@

I just hope this year doesn't suck so much....

So after nearly 5 years of faithful service, my PC's old harddrive began to fail significantly with each passing day (failure to be recognized at startup, disk read errors upon startup becoming more and more frequent, programs stuttering and freezing occasionally when being open, some files ending up corrupted etc.), and after performing an analysis it became clear to me that I need a replacement ASAP, lest I suffer a complete loss of important stuff. Thankfully, a friend helped me out with purchase of a new harddrive (Western Digital Blue 1TB drive), which was finally installed today and we were able to salvage most important data from the old one. Only downside is having to reinstall -everything- one has been using up to that point, but that's what we have to deal with when it comes to computers....

RIP Hitachi Deskstar, you served me well.

So, did anyone else experience this troublesome glitch? It seems that the demo will at random lock up, staying in either day or night mode, regardless of the time, and the events will no longer be triggered. To some this was triggered if they were tampering with date and time on their 3DS, but for others it seems to appear purely at random.

It seems the only solution for now is to delete the demo and it's save data, and redownload it again, until (and if) Game Freak releases a fix for it. Which I doubt will happen.

After several delays, I have finally returned, slight issues aside. Good to see you all!! :D

Our driver had to reschedule again, so we are returning either on sunday or monday. Fucking great...

Were supposed to return tomorrow, but due to some schedule issues with driver, we had to move it to Thursday. See you then!!

...autumn just has a habit of being the worst time for me for past couple of years.

So, what happened?

My grandma got hospitalized, after collapsing suddenly (which happened after her constant complaints about dizziness and headaches). She was released today, but despite the doctors' insistence that there is nothing wrong (not the first time they did it, after their last fuck-up when she suffered some complications after a heart bypass surgery several years ago), she's still not feeling well. Me and my dad are going there tomorrow morning to take care of the daily chores until she recovers. How long will it last, I don't know. However, my mom will be following us after she's done with some matters she has to settle here at home, and if we don't return by that time, I'll be able to return home when she arrives there.

Hopefully it won't be too long, until I return, stay safe everyone!!
