There are many reasons why the backgrounds had to be updated.
There were many errors in the mesh that were causing crashes. There were texture errors, lighting errors, and Lightwave was having trouble communicating with flash properly which made it so we could't update future shots or areas.
The new models and areas have been built so that this won't happen again.
REMEMBER THIS IS A LIVE BETA
Under normal circumstances you'd never see the changes in backgrounds or characters, but because this is what I spend all my time doing, and everyone wants regular updates, you get to see the changes that happen due to program failures, artistic updates, player requests, unforeseen issues, etc.

Livestream Update: No Sketch Cam Today
General | Posted 14 years agoWe will resume ASAP. I'm out of med's and can't seem to stop blinking for more than a few seconds. Started last night and has gotten worse all day.
At least it doesn't burn!
Just taking it easy for today. I'll be back as soon as I get myself under control. Taking off is not exactly my first choice but the situation is out of my control. Very sorry guys.

General | Posted 14 years ago I've been without a Stylus for 3 days and It is making me a bit crazy. I'm half way through Shemyay and Rio's head updates and will be posting WIP shots after I finish this journal.
Rio and Shemyay are only partially completed as I am still waiting on a stylus. Shem still needs her hair but her face is rigged. Rio is rigged but still lacks an updated mouth and speech rig so I do have some more to do before they are ready to post.
This is a refined appearance for both and I like it. This model of Rio has a bit more of the 1.0 features that people seemed to like that I have tried to update.
Aside from the lack stylus have been pleased with my 3d work in lightwave. Many new ships are being completed as well as other worlds.
I am also working on the new renders for the USO project which I hope to have back in production next month.
Still transferring and updating data in the game. many code fixes have been completed.
Just so everyone knows, My FTP server is moving slow. No idea whats going on with that at the moment. Some folks have said game elements have been slow to load. Things like areas, planets and ships may require a few additional minutes. I'm attempting to reach my host but that is a bit up in the air.
Keep your eyes pealed for new pencil sketches coming into my scraps pile. I like the way my pencil work has been turning out however I CAN NOT WAIT TO GET BACK TO FLASH! I do keep busy even when my tech fails. However anyone who donates or sends us a stylus will keep this from happening too often so big thanks to those who have contacted us. I don't mind my pencil work but I do think my flash is what people like to see.
I will be trying to blog more just to keep everyone informed. I do listen to your comments and concerns. Thank you all for your support.

Equipment Donation Request : Status: URGENT
I may be delayed by about a week. Our replacement Wcom Tablet has died. This is due to a common cable design flaw. I have a second Wacom Tablet (The CTE-450/K, however I do not have a compatible stylus/pen.
No Pen = No Art = No HTH2 Updates = :(

General | Posted 14 years agoI have been dealing with many problems on the new OS. I am sick of crashes and lock ups. I have acquired a 64-bit copy of WinXP and will install today.
Fossil believes this will greatly improve performance on this new system.
The hardware is a beast...no excuses for it running like crap.
I'll keep you posted. I hope this does not cause any serious delays.

HTH STUDIOS UPDATE: NEW COMPUTER
General | Posted 14 years agoThe new studio computer is now built (with the exception of a CD rom drive).
Everything looks fine just trying to put mac os on it without a CD drive or access to a working copy of mac os is tricky and unfamiliar, but it can be done. Cd-rom drive is on the way.

I'm taking Sunday 7/24/2011 off to rest so as to be ready to get to work early on Monday!

THE LAST OF OUR COMPUTER PARTS ARE ON THE WAY!
Thank you all so much!.
As of right now donations have supported the studio for two months and helped us design and purchase a new computer. I do not intend to let you down!i literally am watching the window for UPS trucks so i can build and begin utilizing the new machine!
I am so sorry that I have not been able to visit the forums more often. I can tell you I have been working on Structure One and HTH2 everyday but I have been greatly delayed, however due to computer crashes and files being corrupted.
I have so many things that i can't show you yet because of this systems limitations. now with the new computer on the way this will open the floodgates! I will need some time to assemble and optimize the machine so don't expect too see the changes over night ...
but a time of great change and new development begun!

The HTH: USO Pack
The base files for the service pack where damaged by unknown means around July fourth. I'm sorry i have not been able to get them out sooner. But i am having to balance what i work on so as to not damage the current computer.
HTH2 : What's taking so long?
I have been slowly updating the game to a 24 hour clock!
In the process of doing this I have discovered several errors that have required my attention for about a week. then we had issues with losing internet and power for a week or so, on and off.
dIt's been an interesting summer!

As of right now donations have supported the studio for two months and helped us design and purchase a new computer. I do not intend to let you down!i literally am watching the window for UPS trucks so i can build and begin utilizing the new machine!
I am so sorry that I have not been able to visit the forums more often. I can tell you I have been working on Structure One and HTH2 everyday but I have been greatly delayed, however due to computer crashes and files being corrupted.
I have so many things that i can't show you yet because of this systems limitations. now with the new computer on the way this will open the floodgates! I will need some time to assemble and optimize the machine so don't expect too see the changes over night ...
but a time of great change and new development begun!

The HTH: USO Pack
The base files for the service pack where damaged by unknown means around July fourth. I'm sorry i have not been able to get them out sooner. But i am having to balance what i work on so as to not damage the current computer.
HTH2 : What's taking so long?
I have been slowly updating the game to a 24 hour clock!
In the process of doing this I have discovered several errors that have required my attention for about a week. then we had issues with losing internet and power for a week or so, on and off.
dIt's been an interesting summer!
