Opening everything, really need the help...
Posted 11 years agoNever thought I would have to do this, but with medical bills coming in, and new ones about to be generated...I really need the funds. I just paid off one, which was a decent size, and found out that the two insurances I have are fighting it out so it is as if I have no insurance. I also have an outstanding bill that they are fighting over and it is already a large amount. The job I have doesn't pay enough for me to cover these bills. I an opening all slots for everything. I know I am not that good and people can get commissions from other people, but I am not sure what else to do. As I said I am open for all things now. I am sketching to keep my art going. I would really appreciate it though if you could spread the word...even if you can't get a commission.
(Also as a side note, our printer was working funny and I couldn't print out the badges, my husband cleaned up the print heads and it did a little better, but then when I went to print...it wouldn't pull the paper in. I can't win it seems. If this doesn't work, then I will have to pay to have them printed somewhere so I can get the sent out. I am so sorry for the wait for this...I am trying I really am.)

Insurance never covers all of the expenses and I don't really make all that much. I am trying to save money but it is getting a little tight.

Currently airbrushing my smaller tail that I will be wearing at FWA. My ears may or may not be done as I made a small miscalculation but if they do get done, they will be toony looking. I am still learning how to make stuff like this so it is learn as ya go!
Yes I am going to FWA and will be there the entire time. I am not feeling all that great right now (not contagious, it is diabeties related and I will be fine) and have been struggling with that the past couple days. Also the stress of this con is throwing me a bit over the edge. I am trying to remain calm and work at a decent pace but we will see how much I can get done today. Tomorrow morning is a 10 hour drive down to Atlanta Georgia where we will get settled and go from there. If I don't seem like my usual bubbly self I am sorry. Again I am not contagious at all so no worries about that ok?
I would love to talk to people and meet up if anyone is interested? If not just gonna roam around with my husband and look and poke at stuff then find things to eat.

Pictures soon to come, but Carcin's tail is done! My large tail is is about 85% done, all sewn up, base attached. I have to sew shut the stuffing hole and air brush it. I am making a smaller tail to wear when I won't be in full suit, so working on that pattern right now. After that I am going to try my hand at making ears! I have a pattern already I just have to figure out how to attach them to a stretchy band! My head is at a stand still, I have to remake my frills and crest, but the horns are lightly attached and my ear shape is finalized. I need to start taping it off so I can start cutting out fur to attach to the head. I need to do the same for Carcin's and Azrin's heads. They both already have their ears done as well just have to make a pattern. I also have to order more white fur since I am almost out, using the last of it for my tail and stretchy band ears.
Hotel is booked for FWA with the husband and we will be staying with two other people. I really want to meet up with people this time and talk and hangout and stuff. I want to be fully involved in all that there is to offer and have a good time! I want to see all the fur suits and meet all the artists and just have a good time! I am extremely nervous with this convention with certain conditions but...everything will be ok and I will be with my husband so I should have nothing to worry about. I just really want to see all those suits and have a good time. Bare with me if I don't update anyone, or if I meet you there and I get sick I am sorry ahead of time!
After that, Anthrocon is coming up in July and I plan to have Crystal's partial at least 80% complete. I am not really worried about her wings but that head....it has to be completed or I will hate myself! At least my tail is done *sigh* that was a pain in the butt! But I learned so much and I really want to make tails now! Even my mom is excited and is thinking about making herself a fursona! My sister is also making one, she loves foxes!

Pictures soon to come, but Carcin's tail is done! My large tail is is about 85% done, all sewn up, base attached. I have to sew shut the stuffing hole and air brush it. I am making a smaller tail to wear when I won't be in full suit, so working on that pattern right now. After that I am going to try my hand at making ears! I have a pattern already I just have to figure out how to attach them to a stretchy band! My head is at a stand still, I have to remake my frills and crest, but the horns are lightly attached and my ear shape is finalized. I need to start taping it off so I can start cutting out fur to attach to the head. I need to do the same for Carcin's and Azrin's heads. They both already have their ears done as well just have to make a pattern. I also have to order more white fur since I am almost out, using the last of it for my tail and stretchy band ears.
Hotel is booked for FWA with the husband and we will be staying with two other people. I really want to meet up with people this time and talk and hangout and stuff. I want to be fully involved in all that there is to offer and have a good time! I want to see all the fur suits and meet all the artists and just have a good time! I am extremely nervous with this convention with certain conditions but...everything will be ok and I will be with my husband so I should have nothing to worry about. I just really want to see all those suits and have a good time. Bare with me if I don't update anyone, or if I meet you there and I get sick I am sorry ahead of time!
After that, Anthrocon is coming up in July and I plan to have Crystal's partial at least 80% complete. I am not really worried about her wings but that head....it has to be completed or I will hate myself! At least my tail is done *sigh* that was a pain in the butt! But I learned so much and I really want to make tails now! Even my mom is excited and is thinking about making herself a fursona! My sister is also making one, she loves foxes!

So in only a few hours, I made a pattern, cut it out, hand stitched most of it together, and is ready to make a base then machine sew the rest. It is a small tail but I am proud of myself to say that in under two days I can (as an amateur) make a small tail and it be ready to wear!!!
So FWA is a go, who else is going? I would love to meet up with some people and good off :D

Though I will say I am terrified, trying to prepare but it is hard. I would love to meet up with people to calm myself. I am sorry ahead of time if I get sick...Also sharing a room, also terrified about that as well....
I am on Secondlife a bit more doing some mod work, helping out a friend of mine and just goofing off, Anyone want to join? Just let me know. We hang out at a free sandbox and do all sorts of sillies XD

As far as the tail, I decided on not doing a pocket tail thanks to Karimah who was very helpful! So only doing a base and hoping this turns out ok. Depending on how well this goes I might try and make some patterns after Anthrocon. I got my base cut out I just have to attach and see how well that goes. Never done this stuff before so it is kinda interesting.
If you guys are interested, what patterns would you like to see?

Making a base for my tail currently...pattern work is very very challenging. Not sure how this will turn out but hopefully it will be ok. I haven't really done this before. D: I hope I don't ruin it!!!

Also making the pattern for her ears today, I have the foam all cut up, and would like to make headband ears, as well as the ones for my resin blank. This part will be easy to do so I am excited, the blue fur I got was a little expensive but weeeeeeell worth it and it is lovely!!! <3
Also gotta air brush her spots on the tail when I get it done, and will be making a mini version of my tail for when I don't want to be in full suit!

So today, I am going to be filling my hollow horns with foam (the horns for my Crystal Fur suit). I would also like to see if I can start making her crest for her head but I am going to see about that. In the mean time I need to make a basic ref for Crystal's head. It has come to my attention that my details for her are not very specific. So I am going to make a sheet showing what is on her head, and what isn't. People keep leaving out her crest on her head, or putting her check fins on weird. I will do this so that when I commission people there will be a clear ref for that.
Also guys...her eyes are green....
I feel like this would be good for me as well as I haven't been drawing much and I need the practice, so expect that at some point...for now I am going to take pictures of what I have done with my suit. My tail should be done soon as well. I modified the pattern and I am pretty happy with it now. I can now secure a base to it and then worry about getting it stuffed. Here is my next question though. for those of you with a tail aready...do you think tail pockets are a good idea?

I GOT A WIIU OMFG SO MUCH EXCITE...AND CARDS AGAINST HUMANITY IS AWESOME!!!
Got a lot of other things too, like the parents in law got us a print out from our wedding on canvas, and a piece of blue lapis inscribed with our names and wedding date! <3 so much cheesy but I love it. Got more candy then I know what to do with and most is chocolate.....mmmmmm love me some chocolate!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 Got an awesome catbug blanket and shirt from my brother! <3 and some kitchen stuff from my parents so I can be fancy and all that jazz. AND NEW COFFEE MAKER FOR THE WIN!!!!! Got some picture mugs, and some tools, and bits for my dremel tool! I got a big purple fuzzy blanket for the husband...he won't sleep without it now cuz he loves it soo much. I also got him a long board with extra wheels so he can coast along. It is just plain black and purple and he leaves it in his trunk so he can coast! <3

Alright so I cleared my ban list...not that there was much on there.
Gonna crack down on some art.
I also am going to be redoing me and Carcin's heads and gotta order me some new fur!
But I need help...
I am looking for a long pile fur, that is snow white not off white.
It also has to be somewhat soft, and able to be air brushed

Gonna finish the last commission that I have for Mahad-dragon then...ref sheet for my husband!
After that I would like to try and make some patterns for tails that I would like to sell.
But I would also like to take some slots for....Aderpables. Any pose but these are meant to be simple.
So next journal should be about the Aderpables....they are not adoptables...though I might make some.
These will be customs so I have to figure out a price for them, but they will be open soon!

Right so.. From my last journal, know that my tablet is kind of screwed until I get my new cable in.
This could take another week and a half or so..
Today I had a Visa bill come in that is double the amount it's supposed to be because I couldn't afford to pay it last month..
So I'm in need of another $520 in the next week to help pay it off.. I'll happily accept any donations to assist in paying it off.. But I'm also going to take a few Traditional Badge slots at $40/Badge.. +$5 for lamination, since I need to take the bus to go have them Laminated.. Bus fare here is $2.50 each way, so the +$5 covers my travel expenses.

Things I would like to get done within this next week.
Posted 12 years agoStuff that need to be done end of the week into next week :D Gotta get it going and get it done! BTW I need company for some of these things and might be livestreaming some things as well so please by all means stop by or skype me. Being unemployed means I have more time to reconnect to people that I either lost contact with, or to mend friendships that maybe were frayed or something happened. I could use the company guys, I don't like being alone...
Now for the list!
1. First priority is these commissions that I have listed below everything else so I have a leg to stand on, and these were also paid for so they get done above all else.
2. I must keep up with my unemployment papers so I get some money besides what little commissions I get on the side
3. I want to make more patterns for basic tails that I can offer to people...if you have ideas for these please let me know as I am open for ideas!
4. Finish me and Carcin's tail's so we have something to wear when I finally finish our heads. Alright so with this week coming to a close, I would like to finish Carcin's tail that has been on hold for a while now. I need to sew it closed and attach the belt loops so he can actually wear it. I also need to patch the two holes that I found after sewing the thing together...gah.
5. begin working on me and Carcin's heads again...they won't be done yet but I have to start somewhere...
