Recently I've seen a few artists charging their customers for the paypal fees that are charged when someone uses the "pay for goods or services" tab.
The seller is charged a fee (2.9% + $0.30) based on the amount of money they get. This is the fee for using the service to get money from a customer, as well as offering buyer protection.

Why do artists feel that it is not their responsibility to pay THEIR fee? It isn't the customer's problem to pay this fee. It shouldn't be included in whatever the cost of the art is.

Why do people try and do this?

Shaking through the nest from the amniotic casing, slight rustles could be heard. Suddenly, a faint cracking noise and a split appeared in the casing of the shell. Within seconds, a tiny beak-like formation poked out, breathing the first breath of life. practically begging to be removed from the prison it's held in, the small creature inside the egg shuffles back and forth; rocking the egg in an attempt to free itself. Several minutes pass, and a good half of the shell is gone; exposing the owlet inside. He attempts to climb out, falling out onto the brisk surface of the aerie he's contained within. He picks himself up and peeps dimly, waiting for his parents to come back and see how he has hatched. The twilight hour breaks as two figures approach the nest from the darkness. His parents come back, looming over the small owl as he looks up to them frightened at first from the shady figures. Amazed at what they've found; got on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur.
