Sorry about the gap in art, y'all. I've got C2E2 and the Chicago Zine Fest one after the other at the end of this month, and I'm busy printing a Go Ye Dogs! mini, a Tea+Bread mini, plus a reprint of Sky Food I and II. I'm running around picking up supplies, screen-printing, folding+stapling, picking up my tee shirt orders, arranging and oh yeah, drawing the damn things.

April should bring lots of PAINTINGS. Stay tuned!

Oh, and I like the new My Little Pony cartoon. I feel like FA is the only environment where I don't have to be on the defensive about this. Good. It's a good kids' show.

Hourou Musuko (Wandering Son) is an unexpected joy. It's about queer kids, mainly a boy who wants to be a girl who is in love with a girl who wants to be a boy. It doesn't trifle with labels or identity politics or gay or straight, and that's amazing coming from the label-obsessed market of Japanese comics and animation. It just depicts kids in an incredibly confusing and innocent part of life without interference. It's so very touching and sad and moving and the first seven episodes are available streaming on crunchyroll. Oh you should watch it.

The movie Summer Wars is FINALLY available on DVD in English in the states. I INSIST YOU WATCH THIS MOVIE. What an incredible work of art!

I was already bummed about missing FWA when so many of my furry buddies are going to be there. Now I see Marc Maron is going to be at the Laughing Skull during the con!

Y'all who are attending really should consider taking a break and going to one of his shows. The Laughing Skull is within easy walking distance from the con hotel! His incredible podcast is pretty much the reason I got over my fear and tried stand-up.
