The con isn't a furry convention, but there are furries that do end up there. I am good buddies with a few of the staff that run it, and I try to assist them as it is a completely volunteer run convention. This year I'm going to go more as a con-goer than a regular staff worker. Going to suit up for one of the days to hang with a buddy and see if I can get him some more sales (vendor). I just hate that it's in July, at the start of the summer heat. Last year we had torrential thunderstorms for one of the days, so I'm gonna need to be careful which day I suit up. Not getting a hotel, since it's so close to me. But may see if a buddy wants to go with me to at least be an assistant handler.

Exhausted and needing so much caffeine, and I have work tomorrow... but all in all it was a fantastic time. Felt like it went too fast. Learned what not to do next time, and tricks to make suiting up a bit easier. Looking at what other cons I could possibly attend this year. There's a small little local one nearby that's more of a geeky/anime convention, still might attend that for a day at least, since a lot of my buddies actually work on the staff for it each year. Would love to show up in suit and say hi.

Just a little bit before my first con of the year. I'll be attending with the Wyckett partial made by the wonderful  Rhee. Super stoked, been a while since I've actively done anything like this, first furry convention though. Hoping it goes well. I used to go to a lot of cons in my heyday, but those were the typical anime conventions, you know. Nothing like this at all. Plus, 2020 just got me all out of sorts doing anything fun. I'm picking up the pieces still after that trash fire of a year. I know I'm not the only one out there. Anyway, wish me luck!

Got the new Nightwish album, Yesterwynde. Normally I'm all gung-ho for their new stuff. With this one, I'm finding I'm having to take some time warming up to it. I think "Day Of..." is the biggest one throwing me off. Most of my buddies hate Floor as the singer and the swerve right into the more scientific, philosophical and political side of things, ever since Endless Forms Most Beautiful. Which, I mean, I get it. I do. A lot of fans remember the old music, with Tarja and Anette. And while I do agree they were good and the songs they've sung will forever go down as classics, I'm always excited to see growth and evolution in a band's lifespan. Staying stale is not the way to go.

They've most certainly have gone a different route compared to Dark Passion Play and Century Child. Enjoying it so far, though.

Going to Bewhiskered next year in March. Hoping to have a good time. I've been out of touch with the con scene. Went to Animazement this year, and that was fun. Brought back some good ol' memories of when I was much younger, checking out the conventions and stuff with friends. I think our plague of 2020 really threw stuff out of whack for me, and I just ended up not doing half the things I liked doing once we got released back into the wilds of the world.

You all just reach August and have the final countdown playing in your head? Like we got 4 months left of the year. Craziest thing. I get to August and I sneeze, and it's suddenly December and I become a crotchety nerd wondering where all my free time went.

Oh, well.

Everyone, go enjoy the dregs of summer. Pace yourself, don't rush. In a blink of an eye the year will be over, and we'll be back to square one with our yearly disaster bingo cards.
