C'mon 2016, Really?
Posted 10 years agoHey all;
Just a lil' note to say I'm alive and plugging away (albeit slowly) at work. 2016 has not been a great year so far, and a sudden serious family health issue has really thrown a wrench into the works as far as my schedule goes. Fingers crossed though that this isn't as serious as it seems!
On the upside, discovered a tiny gem of a pizza place near us, which considering I live in the arse-end of nowhere is FANTASTIC.... so I got that goin' for me.

Bargain Basement Pony = WINNER
Posted 10 years agoPretty jazzed right now; the president of the saddle club we showed at this summer just emailed me to confirm the spelling of Dirge's name... for a trophy.
WOW.
I'm kinda floored; this was her first season showing (or riding off property at all), and my first time back in the show pen in like... ten years, AND we had no coach all year.
Makes it even harder to have to bring her home from the trainers before she's finished. Damn circumstances...

F-List?
Posted 10 years agoSo I made an F-list profile for Ambrose. I have only the vaguest grasp of how this works though, so tomorrow I'll be re-reading the introduction and FAQ I think. Brain's gone all fuzzy from lack of sleep!
Hullo New Watchers!
Posted 10 years agoHot damn... suddenly I have a ton of new watchers; thank you all so much!
So, I usually run through a few quick sketches to warm up before I work on anything serious - would anyone be interested in seeing 'em going forward, if I threw 'em in scraps? Also, any suggestions for warm-up as far as rough ideas go (ex. fossa, or birbs, ponies, or... mangos... I don't know!)?

Whoops! Commission Work Tomorrow Instead!
Posted 10 years agoSo I intended to finish a couple commissions tonight, since I officially have the next week off (HOORAY)... however I decided to have a stout, then promptly realized I haven't had a drink in about in two months (save my lone stress related whiskey yesterday), and that its far stronger than I realized.
SO, in the interest of NOT sending anyone a particularly wobbly, unattractive rendition of their character I will put time in tomorrow.
In other news, gingerbread cookies go pretty well with stout.

What do you do with non-payment?
Posted 10 years agoJust out of curiousity, what would you recommend doing about a non-payment? I really don't want to cause any drama, and neither do I want to take the commission down. Its been over two weeks at this point with no-contact. Obviously I understand sometimes things come up, but then ya gotta let me know if that's the case!
Would you take their name off the drawing? Or should I just take the drawing down?
I dunno!
Anyone have any suggestions?

Worklist
Posted 10 years agoThe list was cluttering up my userpage, so I'm gonna leave this here for now to help me keep track. For the time bein', I'm going to hold off taking any more commissions until I finish off some of these current ones.
I am also going to have to start being a jerk and requesting at least half payments up front, due to a non-payment issue (I even gave him a deal on it, yeesh...). Doesn't apply to anyone on the list, but I'll have to do it going forward I suppose.
Trades are still a thing, as I should have the week between crimmus and new years off to draw until my fingers fall off if I so choose!

Posted 10 years ago... I guarantee you its because I'm sitting on the other side of my monitor, with both hands clapped over my mouth blushing like a tool. Seriously. Sometimes I just get so flattered I can't even words properly.
So don't worry.
If I don't respond quickly, you hit me right in the feels, and I need time to formulate a response that isn't just giggling incoherently or running from the computer covering my face.

Artist Recommendations, and a Thank-you
Posted 10 years agoSo its been a month since I started sharing my work again, and I can't say enough nice things about FA. You guys have made me WANT to draw again, which has happened only sporadically in the last two years. Almost everyone I've talked to here has been incredibly kind and friendly, not to mention supportive. I admit, its also nice to be in a place where I'm not the only one who wants to draw werewolf wang. *cough*
Anyway, I keep missing out on commissioning some amazing artists because I have no reference sheets for any of my characters - can anyone recommend an artist who's comfortable doing ref. sheets?
They don't have to be open for work right now, I'm happy to wait a bit. I'll probably start with Ambrose first, who might be a bit tricky since he's got both his waff and non-waff forms...

Commission Info (Finally)
Posted 10 years agoThanks to everyone who helped me work out a price scheme; everybody's input was very helpful! As a head's up, this is subject to change if necessary but for the time bein' will be my baseline. These are in USD.
Please note me if interested!
Base Prices
Portrait Sketch - $10- $15
Single Character Sketch -$25 - $40
2 Character SketchEx. 2 - $40 - $65
Colour Portrait - $25 - $35
Single Character Colour Ex. 2 - $50 - $70
2 Character Colour Ex. 2 - $75 - $110
General Info:
I give preference to commissions which give me some leeway artistically, either in choice of pose or characters vs. those which are extremely rigid. Why? I prefer to have a more active role in what I produce, rather than simply being a hand holding a pencil, and I feel like I produce better work this way.
That said, I may also give discounts for commissions where I have more liberty.
Paypal only please. I do require a 50% payment up front, with the other 50% due upon completion. I do not offer time guarantees unless previously agreed upon, as I draw in my spare time, and I have a hectic work schedule.
Subject Matter:
Specialties - male, anthro, monsters/demons, humanoids, size difference, bdsm, weres, femboys/twinks, costumes
Things I'm not comfortable drawing - cubs, diapers, any toilet play, inflation
Obviously you must either own, or have permission from the owner for me to draw a specific character. Mine are also up for grabs (they like grabs, hurhur). If I don't think I can do your character or idea justice, I will say so, not to offend, but to prevent you from spending money on work which may not be my best.
Turn-Around Time:
I do this in my spare time (of which I have very little), so I cannot promise a quick turn-around. I do the best I can, as I am able, but I don't want anyone to be disappointed if it takes me a few weeks.
Design Work:
I love design work, and creating new characters. Throw some ideas at me!
Trades
Sure, if I have time! I'm hoping specifically to find someone to make me a simple ref. for a couple characters (since I have no time to do my own these days haha!).
Can I Colour your Sketches?
Hells yes, so long as you credit me properly!
Please note me if interested!

Does anyone use scraps?
Posted 10 years agoI was wondering if it was worth throwing my rough sketches in scraps or not, but I'm not sure if anyone would actually see them?
Commission Pricing Help?
Posted 10 years agoHullo FA!
I can't believe the number of kind, supportive folks around here. Seriously, its a breath of fresh air! I so rarely posted my illustration work for so long, I can't express how happy it makes me that people actually enjoy seeing it!
Gushing aside, I've been out of the loop for many years at this point, and am having trouble coming up with commission pricing.
At this point, I'm looking at offering sketches, cell shading and full digital colour (which would be the watercoloury style most of the coloured works in my gallery are currently). I do have limited free time which makes things a little tricky, so I can't take on TOO much at this point, but I have no idea what the going rates really are. Most of the art I've commissioned lately has been either in sketch form, or iron artist specials... so I just don't know!
Obviously I'd like to make sure I can offer my work fairly affordably, without burning myself out.
Any suggestions, or advice anyone has would be much appreciated!
