Posted 10 years agoI decided that I am going to do an art raffle! This is open to anyone! I really appreciate all my watchers and people who take the time to look at my artwork, and I want to give back to you. A friend recently did a free art raffle and I thought that was a wonderful idea!

Help me save up for top surgery!

As you may or may not know, I'm a transgender guy, and I am seriously in need of chest surgery. My insurance company is so convoluted and vague that they are guaranteed to deny the request, but even if they covered something, they won't cover all of it. I will be left with, at the very least, $1,500 (but probably close to $8,000), and probably much more than that, not even counting travel or hotel expenses. My commissions are open right now, and all of that money is going straight for my top surgery fund. It would really mean the world to me if you guys would help me out.
Icons (headshot square drawing or 100x100 pixel fullbody) are $10
Phone Backgrounds and Flat Color Images are $10-20 based on complexity in characters.
Shaded Images start at $20 and go up based on character complexity and background complexity.
Digital Badges start at $15 and go up based on complexity. Right now I only feel comfortable doing waist up, bust, or headshots. (Digital badges unfortunately cannot be printed and mailed to you at this time.)
Traditional Badges start at $25 and go up based on complexity and if I already have all of the colors I need. Again, I am only comfortable with waist up, bust, or headshots for badges. These WILL be laminated and mailed to you with a badge clip. If I do not have a color for your character, we can work together to compromise or I will add an extra $1 for each color I can't make work with my current supplies.

Summer Break! And cons

Sorry I kind of vanished, school attacked me pretty hard. Well and some other stress, but school was the biggest culprit of my lack of time. I hardly ever got a chance to come here, dA, etc so. But now I'm back with plenty of time.
My summer begins today! I have a summer job but I think I'll only be working 30 hours a week, so I will not be super duper busy. I'm definitely going to be making more art and working on some cosplays, maybe even fix up my Sam suit! Expect to see more from me in the near future, I have some cool concept art to post as well if I get my group's permission.
I will be on a trip from tomorrow morning until like Monday or Tuesday, I'm not really sure when I come back to be honest, and I will have limited internet. I will try to do a lot of drawing though.
Con News:
I have a badge paid for and a room set up now for Anime Weekend Atlanta, I'm for sure going to that in September. My friends and I will be cosplaying young Kakashi, Obito, and Rin, we're making our costumes this summer :D I'm gonna be Kakashi, I'm so excited. I am also trying to finalize plans for Ichibancon, but I'm pretty sure I'm going, and for FWA, which more depends on my workload Spring quarter. I am also definitely going to be going to SwarmCon 2016, and it looks like I'll be trying to work out an Itachi cosplay, but again, depends on workload.

about commissioning people...
Posted 11 years agoSo paypal takes that service charge if you're paying someone for a good or service, so I was wondering, do most artists expect to receive the commission price MINUS the charge, or do they tend to expect the buyer to cover the charge?
I personally expect to see the price of the commission minus the service charge, but I don't know if other artists are different.

Posted 11 years agoI lost my sunglasses in the ocean, I loved them, they were the only pair that have ever fit me, I was being dumb, honestly I thought I could replace them. I grabbed them and kept hold of them in the ocean, but a strong wave knocked them out of my grip. My eyesight is so sensitive that yes, I really did need to be wearing them while I was on the beach. I really did think they wouldn't be too hard to replace.
Instead I have found nothing online. Nothing. Nada. Not even a picture. I literally cannot find anything.
They're folding wayfarers, got them at a disney park less than a year ago (in October I believe), perry the platypus, they're green and gray/black, not white and gray/black.

Please. Seriously help me find a pair. Please. If you can find these for sale somewhere or can get some, I'll give you like $30 or $40 worth of art. Need a laminator for badges?
Posted 11 years agoI tried self-lamination sheets and honestly they sucked butt. The lanyard clips tore through two badges of lamination within the first half-hour of my meet. It was not an option I would feel happy giving to customers. I did not yank on them or anything, they just got jostled the wrong way and tore. It'd work for something like a full-sized piece of paper, but not for badges.
So, I need to invest in an actual laminator. Any suggestions of which type to get? I don't even know where to start.

Also I don't know if this is the best or worst spawn point ever. My house is really really close to the spawn point, and it's right on top of and surrounded by caves. I found this out by accident. Dug down from my house (not straight down I know that rule at least) and found a creeper in a cave but luckily it didn't spot me. Also found a crap ton of iron but then died >.<

Cons in the Southeast
Posted 11 years agoHey, what cons are in the southeast? Since I'll be going to school in Savannah, GA, I'll be closer to some and farther from others. I know I'll go to FWA and maybe Megaplex, what else is there?
*I calculated all these times via google maps, and from my college, but I'm actually a lot closer or farther away from some depending on whether I'm at school or at home
FWA- 3-4 hours away depending on the way you go
Megaplex- 4-6 hours away depending on the way you go
Rocket City Fur Meet- about 7 hours away (and keeps getting cancelled or something?)
Mephit Fur Meet- about 9 hours away
Fur the 'More- about 9 hours away
Anthrocon- 10-11 hours away (I'm sad bc I really wanna go to this one)
MidWest Furfest- 14-15 hrs away
Furry Fiesta- Way too far away, like 15-16 hours.

Woke up late, was almost late to a stupid thing my school required me to go to
school also scheduled a luncheon
the first thing ran late and I was almost late to the luncheon
at the luncheon it started pouring rain
after the luncheon the heavens unleashed or something, the roads were flooded in places
I got very bad anxiety because my car is so hard to control in puddles let alone flooded roads
my sister made me drive her to the art store for a project she didn't start early enough
rush hour traffic + rain = unhappy me
the heavens unleashed again when we were driving home
and I get home to find out that we had to put down our oldest dog today. He wasn't eating and we brought him to the vet. We thought it was minor. No. It was internal bleeding. And they couldn't operate. He just fucking made it through a basketball sized tumor and healed from that despite being 12 years old, but then he gets hit with this. After he survived that, I felt so sure that we'd have him at least until I went to college... We were so worried last time but not this time...
I just wish something nice would happen. I can't even get commissions... The way things are going I bet Phoenix won't chose my fursuit head when she opens for quotes either. Nothing is going right so why should the things I really want work out
