RIP Dragoneer
Posted a year agoI didn’t know Dragoneer personally, but I am thankful he created this website where I can share my place in the furry fandom.
I first learned about the furry fandom through YouTube videos of fat fur artwork back in 2010, while I was still in high school. Eventually, I figured out who those artists were (including
) and I was soon led to FurAffinity. It was then I was introduced to a vast world of art that was centered around my interest in big bellies, and it felt like the best way to express that interest. During my college years, not much came of my time on FA beyond searching for any round belly art that met my interests. Only in 2015, shortly after I graduated college, did I finally have the courage to create a fursona of my own: Curtis Lupus, a wolf who was never supposed to be chubby himself, but more of an admirer of other guys’ round bellies. Nevertheless, Curtis has changed a little over the years. I also had no idea I would create more characters than just my wolf.
For all these experiences, I have Dragoneer and his creation of FA to thank for helping me find a fandom where I can be open about my interests and express them the way I like via the artwork I have commissioned. Dragoneer will be missed; my thoughts and prayers are with those who knew him best. I hope this website can continue his legacy and allow us to share more in the fandom for years to come.

My Thoughts on Extreme WG
Posted a year agoA common trope among fat furs seems to be gaining weight to the point of becoming a blob, and sometimes the wg has no limit.
While I respect others’ admiration of extreme WG, I am personally not a fan of it. So, I would appreciate it if people respect my decision to keep my characters at their respective sizes at which their bellies remain round, and they can still walk around and fit in their clothes.
Curtis should have nothing more than a beer belly/dad bod that still reflects the image of his former slender self. He’s tried to watch his figure, but it hasn’t been easy to keep his greedy stomach quiet without eating a little extra comfort food every now and then.
Arthur has a round, smooth belly that hangs over his belt buckle and has no chance of being contained by his undersized vest. The dragon is proud of his belly, which is like a close friend to him. So, he wears the vest to highlight its size.
As for Brad, his round, fuzzy belly is almost always hanging out of a t-shirt, exposing his outie. He can still put on a belt, but he can’t fasten his outer button-down shirt without losing a few buttons. Regardless, the elephant dresses this way to tease his friends with a belly peek (and sometimes even a belly flash).
In conclusion, I love my boys the way they are. And that’s why there will be no art of them becoming flabby. I have already had artwork of Curtis going beyond his usual size. While some of it was gift art, I would appreciate it if Curtis, along with Brad and Arthur, were drawn with only their usual sizes in mind from now on. I’m sorry if this disappoints any of my followers, but that is my own personal take on unrealistic WG.

New Rules
Posted 5 years agoHi everyone! I hope you’re enjoying the content I’m sharing on FA. I just wanted to set a few rules for everyone visiting my page and communicating with me here.
First off: Thanks everyone for watching me here on FA! It really means a lot to me that you follow my content and keep up with my FA. However, this is not my main form of social media in the furry fandom. If you’d like to chat with me further or keep up with the majority of my furry stuff, you can find me on Twitter or Telegram (both are CurtisLupus). If you message me, please have more to say than just a simple “hello,” and please don’t be too clingy with me. I am an adult who is often busy with stuff in real life, but I like to get to your messages as soon as I can.
Second: I enjoy getting fun comments on my submissions. But, if you’re going to leave a comment, please be respectful and stay absolutely relevant to the picture on which you’re commenting. I will not respond to anything like “Hi,” or “cute,” or other short comments, whether they’re under a submission or in my FA notes. Not trying to sound mean, but I just don’t want too many irrelevant/bland comments building up in the comment section. This goes for any RPs in the comment section as well. I will allow a few RP comments once in a while, but I don’t want them building up in a public comment section for everyone to see. I love interacting with others in the comment section, but if it gets too long, please contact me on Telegram to continue.
This leads me up to my last rule: I no longer do any RPs on DA or FA notes. I‘ve found RPs through notes can be rather inconvenient for me, as I have to pull up the website every time just to check if I get a response. Furthermore, I will only RP through Telegram with my closest friends or if we’ve RPd frequently in the past.
Thank you all for visiting my page! I hope you all enjoy my content, and I hope these new rules don’t inconvenience anyone. Again, I am not trying to be mean or anything; I just want to set some boundaries.

DenFur 2018: Successful Rebuild
Posted 7 years agoAfter the fall of Rocky Mountain Fur Con two years ago, Colorado furries came back with a new convention this year called DenFur, and I think it was a huge success! Only one year so far, and DenFur has become one of the top ten largest furry cons in the world with 2,086 attendees, including special guests Majira Strawberry
, Sunny Dingo
and, of course, Telephone
.
I myself had lots of fun catching up with my friends and meeting new friends in the process. My favorite part was suiting up and making myself and other people smile; I enjoyed every hug and belly rub that came my way. I also got a chance to play some of my favorite songs on the piano. The hardest part was having a hotel room about ten minutes away from the main hotel, but all in all, it was such a great time!
I was thrilled to be a part of DenFur, and I can’t wait for next year!

My First MFF Trip
Posted 7 years agoI know, I'm a little late at posting this, but I've been busy with work and other things. But I wanted to let you all know I had a blast at MFF 2017! The journey had lots of great moments, but also a few adventures.
Let's start with the ride in. It was the first time I'd ever booked a flight on my own, and it went smoothly. However, since I flew with Southwest, they landed at Chicago Midway instead of the closer O'Hare airport. I expected my ride to be waiting for me at the airport, but by the time I landed, he was stuck in Iowa, driving all the way from Wyoming! I ended up taking a taxi to the Embassy Suites. Unfortunately, one of my roommates, still on the road had booked the room for the three of us, so I couldn't check into my room and rest yet; I had no choice but to wait in the lobby with my luggage for SIX HOURS!! I'll spare you all the details of all the surprises my roommate sprung on me at the last minute, but I eventually was able to get into my room and into my fursuit.
Once I dropped my stuff at my room, I made my way over to the Hyatt to pick up my con badge. After waiting in line for maybe an hour, I started wandering around and meeting a few people I'd only met online before. The next day, I met even more people I'd been befriending on FA and Twitter and my other roommate arrived by airport shuttle to our hotel.
Much of my time at MFF consisted of walking around on my own meeting other furries, getting pics, and of course, grabbing all sorts of delicious food. I also got to meet
FoxAmoore and
PepperCoyote at the Dealer's Den, where I bought a couple of their albums, picked up my Certified badge from
MaryMouse and bought a few other toys, including a giant plush donut, which grabbed a lot of attention from other fursuiters!
The food was very expensive, but also very good. One line served pizza, mac n cheese, and tacos in dog dishes! On the last day, I had Chinese food and beer with a bunch of Mischief Makers furries. To my surprise, one of my roommates had too much to drink and needed to be taken up to our room. I was scared, as I'd never had to deal with such a situation before! Thankfully, he was able to recover while I stayed back and tended to him.
I was honestly surprised at how many ambulances showed up at the Hyatt Regency during the con. Fortunately, nothing happened to me or my friends that we would've needed to call 911. However, the fire alarm went off in our hotel, so we all had to evacuate and stand out in front of the Embassy Suites (It was like college all over again for me! XD) But, if it weren't for the fire alarm, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy a free hotel breakfast, which I had missed all other days due to sleeping in.
Despite the flaws of the trip, I had lots of fun at my first MFF, and I hope to go back again next year! I met lots of great people, and learned lots from my experience. I was also surprised that there were roughly 8,700 attendees this year, surpassing the numbers at AnthroCon! Imagine if they end up with over 9,000 attendees in the future (cue the Dragon Ball Z memes! XD) It was a large con, but that didn't stop me from having a good time! I may not have met everyone I wanted to this time, but there's always other cons!

2-Year Anniversary on FA (Late)
Posted 8 years agoI may be a day late for it, but I wanted to say that it’s now been two years since I created my FA page, and it has been such a great time for me!
In those two years, I have come close to 10,000 page views, almost 50 submissions, over 350 watchers, and so much more! I have made some of the greatest friends because of my activity in the furry fandom. Thank you all so much for your support; it means so much to me! You’re all awesome!

Update
Posted 8 years agoHey guys. Just wanted to share some things with you that have happened to me over the last year.
First of all, my life in Colorado has been improving since February when I finally had the courage to quit my stupid night job and find something with better hours and better coworkers. Now, I'm able to be awake during the day and enjoy the beauty of Colorado. I've also been doing my best to come to terms with my sexuality, while still being able to maintain my religious beliefs.
As for my social life, both here in Colorado and in the furry fandom, it has been improving a lot since last year. I have a regular group of friends with whom I do special things like going to water parks, movies, dinners, etc. I also enjoy talking to my online friends in the furry fandom. While I may lose a few friends, even recently, I'm not gonna let that bring my hopes down, because I am positive that I can continue to find more. In fact, my best friends in the furry fandom are the best I've ever had in my life!
And finally, there will be a surprise coming up that I'm really excited to show you guys! Stay tuned!

My RMFC Experience
Posted 9 years agoI had a great experience at my first furry convention. It gave me the opportunity to meet some long distance furs I had only seen online. It also gave me some time to bond with my local furry friends. Even though this was one of the smaller cons, and the location was different this year due to the con's regular hotel being renovated, there were still lots of fun activities and some pretty amazing people!
However, there were a few negatives to my experience. Most people were bothered by the long, winding hallway between the hotel and convention rooms, but that was the least of my problems. The main issue was that I was only able to attend the con for the first two days. What's worse is that I had to go back home early on Saturday because of a spontaneous work scheduling. So unfortunately, I had to miss out on Saturday night's late events.
On the other hand, the weekend did hold some unexpected surprises. At the last minute, I managed to book a hotel room on Friday night. Sadly, it wasn't the con hotel, but since it got late, I figured it would be dangerous to drive on the interstate only to drive back to Denver the next morning. The big highlight of the con was when I sat at the piano and led a Disney karaoke for over an hour. It was a little longer than I intended, but I and my fans loved the music!
Overall, the con was a lot of fun, just the right volume for my first furry convention. I look forward to next year's RMFC, and I can't wait to see what my next convention will be!

I'm on DA
Posted 9 years agoHey everyone!
Just wanted to let you know that I've created a DeviantArt account, mostly for reposting and discovering more art. So, if you also have a DA account, you're more than welcome to watch me there too.
Almost everything in my FA gallery will be reposted to my DA page. Also, since one of my many hobbies is photography, you will probably see some of my scenic pictures there as well.
Stay furry!
